The Kraken Ashore!
Mon Apr 20, 2020 3:41 pm
Lose yourself in the sea, and you may find yourself.
Unless you physically lose yourself. That is usually bad, with disastrous results most of the time. Between sunburning, insolation, dehydration, or worse, drinking copious amounts of salt water, willingly or unwillingly, the sea can be as cruel or more so than any person upon this earth, the only difference being it doesn’t discriminate. It’s dispassionate in it’s hatred towards anyone, instead focusing it’s passion of rampaging tidal waves that shakes every hinge of the body, and tests the craft of even the sturdiest ship. By luck or skill, the ship upon which the Kraken rode managed to get to port almost intact, with a few holes that required quick mending, nothing a hammer, nails and skilled hands couldn’t fix. Hiro was skilled with tools, from the gentle kunai to the swift shuriken, and the sturdy hammer was a tool as any other: as capable as the hand that wields it.
While impressing the captain in his maritime prowess, some of the crew didn’t seem to like him: there were wild accusations of him being the cause of one of their men having been less than lucky with their trip this time and finding themselves on the wrong side of the ship: the outside. Hiro feigned anger as best as he could, furrowing his hairless brows and lifting one of them slightly, raising his tone of voice and barking out words of indignance at the accusation, just because he was an outsider! Few sailors attested to the skill of the man that had likely drunk a big gulp of salty water from the greatest cup there was, and how his surefooting would’ve never betrayed his balance, and as such the only logical conclusion was the newcomer must’ve done the deed. Hiro rolled his eyes at the accusation, of course. However, the captain attested to Hiro’s efforts to keep the ship afloat, and how his disciplined behavior actually helped the lot of them making it to shore, and demanded them drop the subject and thank the behemoth for his efforts. The crew gave him the stink eye, but Hiro clad himself in justice and strolled off the ship.
Now a free man walking the Island Country, Hiro made his way towards the village, an information easily obtained by the populace of the coastal city where they ported. It appeared that as the days went on, the villages became less and less hidden, losing the entirety of their point. Might as well start creating advanced outposts if one can just stroll up to the village’s gates, and slowly take territory from other countries. That made him wonder… how good was Kirigakure's territorial control. Perhaps they had already noticed his arrival to the island. Even if that was the case, Hiro closed his eyes momentarily, lowering his own chakra signature, suppressing it so as to be near-undetectable, as though he were just another person with an untrained and stunted chakra system. He started making his way towards Kirigakure.
