Word Count Requirements: 1000

Task: A thief has been busy putting their greasy little fingers on everything in Kirigakure. Enough complaints have come through and the village has decided it best to throw the task to the genin for training. Find the man or woman and make an example of them to show them why larceny in the Mist will cost you your fingers or whatever other punishment you deem fit.
For the Hunter Challenge to be accepted the mission must possess the tag [Hunter]. If the challenge is accepted you will hunt down and face off against a D-ranked Shinobi in training. They've been spotted around the general area of the village and banking district. You are to engage the the thief, chase him done and subdue him should he attempt to resist. When you're done, hand him over to a chuunin or take him directly to the prison yourself. Nobody would mind if the thief died in an "accident" however.
His eyes examined the crime scene as an angry villager yelled in the background. “This is the third time this week! You have to do something! I thought shinobi were supposed to keep our things safe!” Furo ignored him as his eyes darted around the shop. The break in was shoddy and he figured the person responsible assumed no one would care about a little trinket shop getting broken into. He had taken roughly 1,000 ryo worth of goods but they would be useless unless he could find someone to sell them to. Which meant that there was going to be a trail.
“Where could you sell the trinkets that were stolen?” Furo inquired after the man as he bent over the door to see how it had been broken into. From the looks of it, the person had kicked the door in from the outside, the top hinge was still connected but the bottom hinge had been completely torn off the door. From the looks of it, he kicked the door, came in and grabbed anything shiny, and then bolted right back out the way he came.
“There are pawn shops around here but I have not been able to find my inventory anywhere.” Furo nodded and figured that maybe the pawn shops were in on it or he was selling it on some sort of black market. He was sure something like that existed around here. If he was willing to thieve he was probably part of some bandit group or at least had some connections to a bandit group. Either way it was a good place to start.
“I will see what I can figure out.” Furozan turned to leave and the man protested but before he could get many words in Furo had leapt away and was out of ear shot. He rolled his eyes and made his way towards the nearest pawn shop.
A few hours and three pawn shops later he had a lead. Supposedly there was a man who bought goods and sold them in other villages. He only came around so often so it made sense with everything else. The thief had picked up right around the time a specific traveling merchant had come into town. He supposed he was getting as much as he could sell as quickly as he could so that he could get his ryo and be set for the next month. It was not the worst idea in the world but it had attracted the attention of the shinobi.
Leaping across rooftops he came to a stop on top of a building across from there he was looking. He was bent over and staring out at the entrance to the building. There were a couple of windows and he could see movement from inside but he wanted to watch it for a little bit and see what he could gather. He spent about an hour watching the building. People were coming and going and they did not stay inside very long. They would walk in with crates, bags, or just an arm full of stuff and then walk out seemingly empty handed. “Yeah, this is the place.” He muttered to himself.
He pooled chakra into his feet and jumped onto the roof of the building and then he walked down the side of the wall so that he was above the window. He then leaned down and looked through it to see someone loading various materials into a big crate. Must have been all of the supplies they were going to sell in another village. Wasting no time, Furozan opened the window, and he burst through getting a yelp from the man who was packing things up. He assumed this was not who he was looking for because the big bad merchant probably would not pack his own goods. Furozan smashed into him and sent him against the wall. He went to react but before he could his katana was at the man’s throat and he was holding up his finger in the stay quiet motion.
“Take me to Noi.” Furozan whispered to the man who had his hands up and was staring at the katana that was at his throat. He nodded his head and slowly turned around and lead him downstairs. The man seemed to be renting this space as there were no decorations or any signs that anyone lived here. As they approached the sounds of laughter hit his ears and a smoky smell invaded his nostrils. They walked into an open room and they did not notice him at first. There were three men, four including his hostage, in the room and they looked over and went to greet their friend but quickly stood up and went for their own weapons when they saw Furo.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Furo appeared from behind the man and pointed at the headband signifying that he was a shinobi from the village. “Not here for your goods. Here for a man who has probably been seeing you often. Steals various trinkets and goods and brings them here. Name and whereabouts and I leave.” He kept his gaze on a fat man who wore gold everywhere and it was easy to assume that he was the leader.
The three of them all looked at each other before he lifted his hands and they all lowered their weapons. “You would be looking for Garul, little scuzz ball who brings us stuff daily. We hear he lives out on the woods on the north side.” Furozan nodded his head but stopped when he heard the voices again. “Leave the poor boy alone. He ain’t got nothing, this is how he makes a living.”
Furo sheathed his sword and turned to face the men. “Not anymore.” With that he vanished out the front of the door.
It did not take long to find the person he was after. A man was slinking out to the woods and was talking to himself about how he was finally going to be able to eat. Furo felt a tinge of guilt as he landed in front of him. “Garul?” He said inquisitively.
The man jumped backwards and put his hands up. He looked down at Furo and pointed his finger at him. “What’s it to ya?”
Furo did not give him time to say anything else as, quick as a flash, his katana sliced upwards and cut the man’s hand clean off. He screamed and dropped to the ground clutching his hand and Furozan dug around in the man’s pockets and pulled the Ryo from within. “If I catch you stealing again I will get the other hand.” He wiped the blood on the man’s screaming shirt and, so that the screams did not haunt him, he grabbed his hand and returned to headquarters to give proof of the completion of his mission. He would also return the stolen ryo to the shop owner who had requested the mission. Part of him felt a tinge of guilt for hurting someone who was doing nothing but surviving. The other part, the one loyal to his village, implored him not to feel anything.

You can actually claim 7 stats. Stat conversion for missions is 200 words a stat, but back at 100 words a stat for the words done above the requirements.
So taking your case for example:
5 stats from doing the mission requirement (1000 words)
2 stats from words done above the requirement (200 words)
