Clean up that damn sand!

Mission Specs:

Momochi Yamanaka whistled sweetly, oblivious (or otherwise willfully ignorant) to the distressing sounds in the background. She stood outside the dreary looking interrogation building, broom in hand, and made to sweep up the floor. Most of the prisoners were behind secrecy seals, kept totally silent- from what she could tell, the yells of distress were coming from her compatriots who were expressing their frustration through a violent spar a few blocks away. The tune rose and fell with each sweep of her arms, striped turtleneck keeping her warm throughout the chilly air. The sand blew in fairly regularly, and most of the stuff was handled by interns, but... It was relaxing to do more mundane activities at times.

Plus, the repetitive motions helped work on her flexibility and form. A heavy exhale left her lips as the song trailed off, wiping her forehead of sweat that wasn't actually present. She'd rid the entryway into the interrogation building of sand, a few pieces of glass, and more than one ration bar wrapper successfully. And still... A frown wrought its way onto her lips, seemingly out of place on her normally affable expression. A few passing strangers, most likely ones aware of her reputation, made way to avoid her across the street.

She lifted the broom experimentally, measuring its size. She was normally used to small weapons- knives, scalpels, needles, but she couldn't deny the appeal of two handed weaponry. Polearms, axes, and the like held a different niche than her preferred arsenal, and if she wanted to be a real weapons specialist, wasn't it a good idea to learn to branch out? The frown gradually faded as she resumed her sweeps, pushing the various debris into a dustpan to carry it into a nearby garbage bag. She'd finish her current job, collect her pay, and then see about training some better techniques and tools.

The young woman continued in silence for about fifteen minutes, making sure the floor was spotless, before re entering the building to put away the cleaning supplies. The janitor's door shut behind her softly, the noise barely audible to anyone farther than a few feet away. She walked quickly and with a purpose to the front desk, the man nodding at her before sliding her an envelope. She scanned it briefly, assuring that the exact pay was included, before nodding at him and removing herself from the premises.

She didn't intend to stay at work longer than she needed to- she had many things to work on, and many chores to finish before the day ended. A soft smile came to her lips- one that didn't quite reach her eyes, before she approached her family's neighborhood- it was little more than a few houses strung together, surrounding a communal garden, but it was where she lived. Her hand grasped a cold brass doorknob, twisting it open as she walked into the final house in the row. She had a long way to go, but today was a good start.

Pulling Weeds
Mission Specs:

The Yamanaka garden was beautiful in its simplicity- a 'less is more' taken almost straight out of an ukiyo-e and painted into real life. A few scattered clan houses surrounding a water garden, connected by stone walkways and bridges and dotted with various native flora. A great willow tree sat close towards the center- it was unclear how old it was, but most of her older relatives seem to be in consensus that it was here long before the Yamanaka. One of the older buildings, having previously been partially destroyed by a particularly bad storm (which inadvertently resulted in many of the newer constructions being made of sturdier materials), had been converted into a greenhouse. Though it largely cultivated various poisons and medicinal plants, one of her great aunts took pride in raising silkworms.

Occasionally, missions would be put out towards the general Kirigakure populace for small gardening help- changing silkworm trays, boiling the cocoons, or even trimming plants. Notably, however, the Yamanaka were prioritized when it came to assigning these missions. And as such, she was currently employed by a relative to weed the outside of the water gardens. In the corner of her eye, she kept careful watch of Tocchan. Nobody was quite sure how the giant crocodile moved in, but most of her younger clan members liked to use him to practice their burgeoning mind body jutsu. Plus, he kept intruders out- it was hard to sneak in under the waterways if there was a nine hundred and ninety kilogram reptile patrolling regularly. She let out a soft hum as she reached down and removed a particularly hardy dandelion from between walkway cracks. The roots came out as well- good.

Momochi appraised it for a moment, putting it in a small satchel. It might make for a good tea later. The rest of the weeds, however, were placed in a garbage bag. It was roughly half filled at this point, but still light enough to tote around over her shoulder. Perhaps her intensive physical training was starting to pay off? A nearby wooden shoji door slid open, revealing a second cousin- the current clan heir. "Stuck with the weeds again, Momo?" he joked, pupilless teal eyes twinkling in the light. She nodded with a soft hum, fingers darting around another clump of weeds to go into the bag.

"They're paying me six hundred for this. A welcome break from interrogation." Inochi nodded thoughtfully. Even for one such as herself, too much of something as strenuous as that could take its toll. Another dandelion. They might've only averaged about thirty in number right now, but they still took the upkeep of their mental faculties very seriously. "Plus, I need to invest in some weapons. Higher ups are debating sending me on missions now." until very recently, most of her experience with weapons came in the form of various torture implements. He nodded thoughtfully.

"You're doing a good job of my roses- keep it up and I'll talk to my mother about hiring you again." she nodded thankfully, continuing her work. She couldn't afford to be distracted, after all.
