The Assessment - Page 2 Empty Re: The Assessment

"A written assessment?" Shin read out loud in his room at that the Lost Winds rescue home. He was staring down at a piece of paper that had been given to every shinobi. The others in his room, the rest of his Lost Wind siblings, looked impressed; they hadn't gotten a letter from the Kage office. "Really?" One of his sisters snickered, "Good luck. We all know how great of a writer you are" Shin rolled his eyes, looking back down at the paper to re-read.  It was true, Shin wasn't the best writer. He spent most of his academy days banking on the idea of being a shinobi, not a reader or writer. He wished he had paid more attention now.

Shin had arrived at the new academy, the old one still being in ruin, to take the required assessment. It was an unfamiliar setting for Shin, making him feel a little nervous to be taking a test in there. Once he got into the room, there was an Anbu personal with the sheets. There were a couple of other people in the room, but Shin wasn't focused on them. After a large gulp, Shin would take a sheet of paper and then a seat towards the front of the room.

It took him a moment to look at the questions. It was three parts: part one was about your general role in a team, the second was scenarios, and the third was an ideological question. Shin took a breath, now knowing what he was up against. He would take the pencil and start writing in his responses.

Part 1:

Now for some Scenarios, Shin thought to himself. He was anxious about getting it wrong, not really realizing there were no 'wrong' answers. He would write his responses short and to the point, not wasting time on detail.
Part 2:
The last question was a bit of a strange for one for Shin. He knew what he could do for the village, but he wasn't sure what the village did for him.
Part 3:

Shin would finish the assessment fairly quickly and turn in the test the Anbu. As quickly as he came, he left. Shin found that he was sweating after leaving the door, feeling the cold air-conditioned breeze hit his pits. Wiping his forehead, he leaves the academy without a word to anyone there.

The Assessment - Page 2 Empty Re: The Assessment

Igami Was instructed to come to this building. And when he walked in he was met by a desk, much like when he first came to the village and was met by Kenshin, the leader of the village. It made the boy sigh to himself, will he always be greeted by a desk whenever he walks into a building? He would walk up to the desk and flash his newly acquired headband, Showing his proof of being a shinobi of the village. Once handed the assessment he walked over to a desk and sat down at it. First thing he did was look the test over and began to read the questions quietly to himself.

Igami could hear others talking aloud to themselves, and some seemed louder then others, but he would ignore them to focus on his own task at hand. The blonde boy read over the exam once more, then picked up the pencil. However this assessment seemed to ask questions that he himself did not even know how to answer. He would just have to think each one over and see what appealed most to him.

First Question came along , Prioritize his style of combat. Igami put the pencil to his lips as he looked up and thought about it for a moment, then he would lean back down over the paper and began to place numbers next to each style.

Close Quarters Combat 3 Mid Range Combat 1 Long Range Combat 2

He had given it thought, if he could handle himself in Mid range combat firstly, he would need to be able to get any stragglers that tried to get away, while he felt Long range may have ultimately been better, speed of techniques and such would be much deadlier at closer ranges. He felt his logic sound in his options and the order he put them and began to move to the next question.

There was eight parts to this, yet he could only select five, electing his parts he felt he would be on a team. He looked each answer over and thought how well it appealed to him. When he felt he had five in mind he liked the sound of the most he started to put numbers next to each to list the order in which he would be on a team.

Protector 1, He chose this one first cause he felt he was already doing this in his life going into a self exile as not to have his father face the disgrace of having a shinobi for a son. Second he placed Strategist, He had selected this role next mostly due to the fact he still doubted his ability to strategize while he was Protecting thus the order of selection made sense in his mind, he knew however he was a bright kid when even full grown adults from his tribe would not play Go with him or Shogi. Decoy, He placed as third, because his choice would be to rather let himself be bait then put someone else in danger, now while some may see this as a leadership quality he skipped over leader as he did not want to have that responsibility but he knew himself and would take it if nessicary. Enhancer, was next to be numbered, he felt like he could handy on a team as a supporting type role, with only having one fight in his life under his belt at the moment and had yet to see his own prowess or use in a fight, he did not deem himself a first into the fight type of guy, the background roles felt more appropiete. And finally for the fifth one he put Saboteur, now overall the final three was not really in exact order, but rather could be interchangable in his mind.

Now as for a quick look into Igamis mind and why he did not choose Blitzer, Leader, or Follower. Igami has not been keen on the ideology of his nomadic tribes, yet knew the consequences of the tribes, He would not follow them by choice but only did so due to Family Loyalty, yet also deep down it was his oppertunity to get away from the stagnet idealistic processes of such a stuffy socieity, See the world , Sure, get to talk with all kinds of walks of life, Of course that was buisness, but never get tied into them, Igami could not let that one slide. He however is frightened at the idea of being a leader and being the reason cause he made a wrong call and someones life he knew being in his hands, and their death being on his shoulders. Such choices he was not keen on making. And Blitzer was easy enough to decipher about him, He isnt for the close range combat, and is to thoughtful to charge headlong into combat, Igami is much more patient and will wait out the opponent.

Igami himself did not know it yet, but the nature that he had linked to in the elemental cycle was Wind, And Igami also had yet to find out about his natural prowess and affenity he would have for Ninjutsu , other then the basic Academy level techniques he had taught himself from a book from Amegakure.

Now Igami was onto reading the Scenario part of this questionaire.

He is out on a mission with a typical ninja cell of four, and three ninja attack. The Leader gets Knocked out, and they also have lost their strongest. Igami gave himself time to think, At this point it was a typical numbers game, there was no other information other then that pretty much they were of all about the same level. Igami then put the pencil to the paper and began to write.

Being a well trained team each would know by this point if it was not their first mission their strengths and weaknesses, assuming that it wasnt mission number one Then the most suited to protect the leader would stay back and lend support to the others while the other two would fight the remaining combatants. Logic determines that with this, if one of the others tried to sneak an attak through to finish off the unconcuious leader, the one in the back would be able to defend against it, while also being able to launch attacks to help bolster their teammates or to help eliminate the otherwise preoccupied enemies as they each would have their own ninja assulting them to deal with at the same time. Upon completion of the fight, try to administer any required first aid to get your leader back up and attempt to finish the mission, Should you however fail, make sure whoever had the important letter destroyed it, as not to let the letter fall into their hands.

After reading the second scenario, Igami thought to himself once again, and came to a conclusion this was easier then the last one in his opinion. Same numbers, skill level more like his and he is leader, One is Ko, another can no longer fight, he has only killed one of them. At this point his number one priority is his ninja under his care, at which moment he would either have the other two take the incompasitated teammate and flee for the village while he stayed behind to fight the other two, or he would be right behind them creating diversions and trying to slow the enemy team down. he would make sure that they would have the letter to return to the village with the instructions to destroy it should the enemy close in, for he would likely be dead at that point.

Finally the last question or rather two part question. What could the village do for him? Well that was simple he came for one thing and one thing only. Power. Now that was putting it plainly, But training him to be a stronger shinobi so that he could better protect his Tribe if the need ever arose, that was the ultimate goal for Igami. at least at this point in his life. Next what could he do for his village? Well this was the question was it not? What was he capable of, now while he came to get stronger for his tribes sake, it would also be put to use by the village, beyond that logic he could not think of anything he could possibly do for the village at this point in his life.

Once his responses was put on the paper he would walk up to the desk and turn his paper and pencil in, At that point he would then Walk out of the building and went off to see if he could find something to learn to help himself on his path he wished to put himself on. Be it to learn what his element was, or his speciality, or even maybe to find out secrets was hidden within his lineage. The possibilities were endless at this point, But he needed to learn those firstly before being able to learn any jutsu or skills , he needed to find out how to learn that information out.
