Intruder Detection (D rank Hunter)

He knew something was wrong. The plan had been simple: tail a caravan and try to find out the cargo, the routes, the pit stops and the alternative routes it could take, and whether it would go to Kirigakure. Although much could be delivered directly onto the village, there would be a chain of command of what the port would be able to take, and what refuse could be routed to external ports to serve specific tracks that would keep the archipelago alive while still servicing the main land. At least, that had been what an older ninja told him he had done back in the day in Wind Country in order to assist the other countries in the invasions; he had made quite a bit of money, which he swiftly gambled away.

Hisashi had other plans, of course. If he could make even half of that money, he would be able to buy a decent piece of land in Forest Country, start a lumberjack operation to trade with Lightning Country, set himself up for life and stop risking his life as a ninja. However, something felt off. From the village he had tracked the caravan to, one bird had gone out, and a few hours later, a bird came in, and the village went suspiciously quiet. That had been when  Hisashi had decided to fall back, at the behest of the sinking feeling at the pit of his stomach. Something must be wrong.

He went into a beach, where a rock formation where sand met forest allowed for a cave system to form; the opening was a brisk two meters tall by three meters wide, with one meter of rock forming a walkway of sorts into the cave system, while two meters met the open ocean and created a trail big, wide and deep enough for his one person boat. He had slept poorly, and didn’t even bother lighting a fire. He had stayed there in the dark the night before, where he put his boat against a wall in the rock, covering the opening that led to tunnels with shallow pools of water, looking into the blinding light outside, waiting to see if it would be safe to leave.

He just wanted a way out of this life.

The waving surface of the water provided Hisashi with small comfort, a sense of normality that his gut told him was not true. The dissonance made his stomach feel heavy and his body feel weak, as if he was experiencing food poisoning. Could it be that he was indeed experiencing food poisoning, and he wasn't being hunted at all? No. He had quite sharp instincts, and a resilient stomach. Something was off.

His ears pricked uncomfortably against his skull as water broke somewhere around; perhaps just a more forceful wave breaking against rock? Maybe. Or maybe someone had just dunked into the water as fast as they could, creating not one, but two characteristic splashes. "Two people then?"

Albeit the shark boy swam as fast as he was able to within his natural element, Hisashi wasn’t able to hear that in particular, considering the ondulation of the waves. But that didn’t stop the paranoid from bubbling and boiling inside his nogger, brewing and shaking him. His irises flooded with crimson, and from the periphery of his vision, he noted two masses of chakra in the water. Thick masses too, not residual chakra from mere living creatures. No. Ninja.

Without skipping a beat, he got to his feet and hopped to the platform to his left, where the boat lay against the wall, and he hurled it to the water in the direction of the shark boy. In the same motion, he slipped inside the hole, and made his way into the cave system that deepened into the earth. Shallow pools of water, at best ankle deep, awaited any following that might have Hisashi’s scent. Albeit it lacked an exit, the labyrinth would likely create an opportunity for his escape. He cursed under his breath, following the tunnel and into a 20m wide, 2 meter tall cave. Exits to his left and right were present, and the entire place was covered in water. He looked to see if he was being followed.

With the cavern's mouth facing North, Hisashi had jumped from the Eastern walkway towards the Western walkway over the flowing waters where Gonk swam. However, it would appear he had stepped on some water against his best efforts, and outside someone decided they would start running at full speed. This afforded Hisashi to alter his course of action, now alerted to the presence of someone new, and instead of lifting the boat with both his hands over his head, he would face North and use his right hand to throw the boat off balance and in the direction of the sharkboy and the newcomer, saving him precious seconds.

By the time the newcomer came into the cave from the Eastern side, whose opening was a whopping 15 meters away from where he stood, Hisashi prepared three handseals and sank to his knees; in that time, water serpents were leaving the boys hands, but at such a great distance, he had little hope of interrupting what was set in motion.

As he threw the boat and Gonk prepared to smash it at his full strength, he would block some of the snakes, considering the buoyancy of the boat would prevent it from sinking, forcing Gonk to rise above the water line in order to smash the small craft. This being considered, and considering the straight line Travin must've been walking along the Eastern bank, put the rising Gonk in front of the snakes attack, blocking the lower snakes and the taller ones going over Hishashi's head.

That is, if the snakes reached him at all; by the time he prepared the three handseals, just as Travin came into the cave, Hisashi had fallen to his knees and pressed his hands to the ground, momentarily out of sight due to the flying boat that would block Gonk and Travin's sight, and presumably not alter their course of action. Immediately the ground beneath them would attack the two, starting low under the bed of the miniature river that ran through the cave, and then lifting the two boys who were now within the 10m×10m square that rose from the cavern, wide enough that there was no way to escape it from the side, and fast enough in such a tight space to make their escape unlikely as it rose half a meter in front of Hisashi, who was two meters away from a Gonk distracted by the destruction of a boat and thus one and a half meters within the trap, and Travin whose continued trajectory, supposedly unaltered due to not being able to see Hisashi's actions as the flying boat obscured them, and particularly due to the effects going into a dark place after being in a luminescent ambient would have on his perception of reality, would be within two meters of the ascending boulder, which would make any escape very difficult as it pushed away water to swim in or allow for an easy escape as the push of gravity would likely stick to two to the rising boulder after tripping over his own feet due to the altered positioning of the ground.

Should they be caught in this technique, Gonk would suffer little damage, as his armor would shield him from the fierce impact, however Travin would sustain significant damage from being compacted into the harsh rock of the cavern by the moving boulder.
