A momentary Stop and shop

Page and Sheffield attempt to enter the Konohagakure, starting 48 Hr. Counter.

Page would ride his boat along the river running through the Village, stopping at the gates before attempting to check in with the guard.

It had been exactly three days since Ita had sent his crow to spread the message of the Leaf’s alliance with Sunagakure and their departure to their new ally’s country. Naturally, Ita arrived early so that he could address any concerns before making the trip. He waited in a small office near the large wooden gates that protected the village. He leaned against the counter while standing, peering out from the rectangular shaped open window with his dark crimson eyes, waiting to see who would be the first to show. To be honest, Ita felt rather odd- as if no one would show at all. If that were the case, he would feel rather ashamed returning to Mizu empty handed.
 
To his surprise, the first person to arrive was not a Leaf shinobi, nor a citizen, but a traveler on a boat who was accompanied by a doge. Ita sighed, realizing that he was the only person around to check the stranger in- meaning he was on guard duty. Ita would straighten his posture before the man would fully arrive and once he was within speaking distance, he would request the required documentation for entry. “Credentials and Reason for visit please.” The Uchiha would state in a  flat voice.

"Heya," Page would respond, Sheffield eagerly following him, "My name is Page, I am a shinobi of the sand, and here is my Shinobi ID, just getting those out of the way quickly. This here is my comrade, a fellow sand shinobi with his own ID," the former farmer would hand both over for the Jounin to read and evaluate, before further stating, "I am here to pick up some supplies before I head over to Hoshi for the Chuunin exams, I remember there is a rare wood around here that I intend to transport, nothing more nothing less." Page would stand with his hands in his pockets while the leaf ninja would fill out the required forms, Sheffield getting close to the newly met stranger, attempting to rub along him seemingly demanding attention.

"Aw come on Shef, leave the guy alone, I'm sure he's busy," the wolf's owner would plead, not wanting to annoy the man who's village he was attempting to enter.

Ita would collect both IDs and examine them thoroughly. Once satisfied, he would hand them back, looking over Page and his companion once more. A slight smile crossed his face which was unusual. The Jounin was pleased to learn that Page and Shef would be participating in the Chuunin Exams. Ita had found memories of his Chuunin exams which took place in Suna. It was a right of passage for shinobi to compete in the exams. It was also a chance for other villages to gauge the competition. Ita would be present at the exams and in just a few hours he would be back in Suna.


“Welcome.” The Uchiha would say, “Please try and keep your visit short, you wouldn’t want to miss the exams. Good luck to you both, I look forward to seeing what Suna shinobi are capable of.“ Ita would say, while looking down to acknowledge Shef. The Jounin would now slide Page a visitor pass that was sufficient for the pair and then go back to thinking about the upcoming events.
