Mining for fun and profit (IO)

The Mission: Have You Seen Our Canary + Are Words Really Silver
A new day started in Hoshi for Anastasia. She’d started putting together a routine now that she was re-familiarising herself with the village. She would start her day just after sunrise with meditation, clearing her mind of the previous day’s events in order to start the next day with a clean slate. It was a good way to help build a solid foundation from which she could remain emotionally detached when needed.
The second part of her routine would be to go outside and begin practice drills. Exercises and movements that would limber her up for the day and help keep training fresh in her mind. She needed to be sharp and there was an adage that she followed to the letter: “I fear not the man who has practiced ten thousand kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick ten thousand times.” From repetition, one draws mastery, and mastery leads to inner clarity and strength.
Once she had completed her warm-ups for the day, she began a proper training session. Basic martial arts and practice moves with blunted weapons were also a part of her warmups for the same reason. Mastery was key, and she would not allow herself to slack off regardless of her environment. Besides it was a meditation of its own, practicing a series of moves repetitively. It helped center her for her day.
Now that she’d finished the more strenuous parts of her day, Anastasia would return to her apartment, get cleaned up, grab breakfast, and then get ready for whatever the day sent her way. In today’s case, it was a pair of missions. They were dropped off while she was getting cleaned up so she read them while she ate. It looks like they were both to take place in the mines just outside the village. Mining iron and silver for the village’s use. It also promised some useful materials of their own to use, she immediately thought of how it could be used to augment her own weapons that were currently being forged back home. The whole process intrigued her, perhaps she would get to learn more about it than just how to acquire the materials.
Because they weren’t expecting any kind of combat, and they weren’t going to be far from the village, she didn’t bother bringing her normal weapons and armour, wearing simply her normal robes and her tiara which had her Hitai-ate built into it. She would make her way to the village gates to await the rest of her squad members. She was the first to arrive, and would stand by the gates themselves, keeping an eye out for other Genin who approached her.

Ty could hardly sleep the night before and found himself begrudgingly squinting at the rising sun. He had been called for some simple missions. Something easy to dip his toes back in the water after being off for so long. His father could handle taking care of himself for the most part now and that meant Typhon would need to start working again sometime. He just hadn't expected it to be so soon.
There was still time until the rendezvous so he could either stay in bed like a nervous wreck or he could get up and do something productive with his time. This day he chose to compromise and stay in bed while doing something productive. Ty couldn't help but think about the stories his dad told him of his mom. The dripping liquid from her fingers was the part he couldn't wrap his brain around. Canopic sweat had only small traces of the disease in it. There was no way that alone would have combat uses, but his mother was a shinobi. Surely there had to be some chakra use involved. That enough was easy to figure out, but how exactly?
He lay facing the ceiling and staring at his hands. Trying to flow chakra through his fingers didn't really seem to cause an effect. He tried for a good while to no avail before he finally sat up.
"I'm getting nowhere with this. I have to get ready." He would sigh as he slid out of bed. He dared take a peak in the mirror only to be met with his typical disheveled hair and pale skin. He briefly considered trying to do something with his messy brown locks, but decided today was not the day.
Getting into his standard clothes, dark grey slacks and matching black T and sweat shirts, he would poke around the kitchen looking for something quick to eat. He would need to move quick to make it to the meeting on time. He found an apple that looked fresh enough and grabbed it.
"Alright dad I'm heading out! The neighbor will come by and check on you later!" He would say as he jetted out the door. He practically swallowed the Apple on the front porch and attached his mask. Then he ran down the busy streets towards his destination. It was a bit of a distance from his little home to the city gates, but he looked at it like an extra bit of exercise. As he approached the meeting spot he caught a glimpse of one of his companions.
She appeared to be well put together. Ty felt a little self conscious about his ragged look, but he was used to being the odd one out.
"Hello, names Typhon. I'd shake your hand but that's probably not a good idea." He would say to Anastasia trying to break the ice with a joke.

The break of the morning sun would rise over the horizon, the beam of light piercing through the cabin window and waking the young wolf. Loghain would rise, taking a moment to raise his arms over his head and do a full body stretch. It was the start of the day, and he had a great deal of work to do today. There was firewood to cut, plus he had to make some minor repairs around the cabin. The wolf would toss on a plain dark grey sleeveless shirt and a pair of baggy black breeches. There wasn’t much left to eat for breakfast, only a few eggs and some old jerky. It was not exactly the breakfast of champions, but it would keep the hunger at bay. He would couple that with a tall glass of water to aim to stay hydrated and then start his day.
He would step outside and grab his wood cutting axe, quickly making his way to the pile of logs ready to be split into quarters. Thankfully, Loghain had a fair bit of muscle and the logs would split in half without much effort, only a single heavy swing to split each in half. After about an hour of chopping wood, a messenger from the village would appear, delivering an assignment letter from the village. The wolf would accept it and nod, letting the messenger return to the village to continue his delivery work. Loghain would crack open the seal, pulling out the assignment and reading it silently. It was another odd job for the village, this time heading to some nearby mineshafts to go and mine some iron and silver for the village. It was a rather basic request, something he didn’t figure they would have shinobi assist with. Perhaps they were underhanded and couldn’t otherwise meet the villages demand for the ores, and paying the help with some of what they mine makes it an alluring proposition for many. Loghain didn’t mind breaking a sweat to help the village, so this assignment was perfect. Far better than a situation where he might have to fight… It was usually for the best he refrained from combat, especially around those he wasn’t sure could subdue the beast. The wolf would set down his axe and ready himself to meet the other shinobi at the gates.
It wouldn’t take long for him to make his way to the gates of the village, his natural speed and stride a great deal faster than most. He would find himself gazing at the gates, spotting two others standing there waiting at the meeting point. One of the two was a familiar face, her golden hair and garb showcasing her status. The other was dressed in far more casual clothing, much like Loghain himself had been. There was a mask on his face, the strangest part of his outfit. Loghain would find himself quickly closing the distance between himself and the pair. “Good to see you again, Lady Anastasia.” He would turn to the other young man, a light whiff of the air causing a puzzling look on the face of the young wolf. “I can’t shake this feeling that something is amiss. Are you okay?” There was a look of genuine concern on the face of the man. He didn’t know why, but something wasn’t right. “Please, forgive me. I am Sebastian Loghain. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” The gate guards would keep an eye on Loghain, but he didn’t need to enter the village and so they had no reason to bother him beyond general caution.

His brother Haegon and their elite warriors were unstoppable in the dream, cutting the shinobi vanguard to pieces and scattering the remains to the rear. The aftermath of the mess Valen and the Ragdoll caused as an opportunity to try and take Hoshi. The Hoshimura branch of Haven, Vaenar’s family, their die-hard supporters, knights and lords, and the old Queensguard.
The coup was spearheaded by a combination of politics and prejudice that turned many against Yasaki. They turned instead to Haegon. He was way stronger than Yasaki, a weak and scholarly older man who liked to write. Some thought Haegon was the better man and urged him to rebel and take the chair for himself.
Ever the gallant, brave fool, Haegan had refused, considering the act dishonorable. Especially after the heroic deeds of Yasaki, who stepped up along with other loyal men to save the City during its darkest hour.
It was Ayato Hyuuga who had acted first, issuing a warrant for Haegon’s arrest, after Shina that damnable she-wolf had brought the Nova Commander whispers of treason. Thankfully the Hoshimura was not without friends, and Haegon escaped with his entourage and declared himself the rightful Kage and the true leader of Hoshigakure and King of Haven. The higher ranks, wanting to preserve their status quo. It was the lesser shinobi that fought for Vaenar’s brother.
Haegon fought brilliantly. The Black dragon gathered his forces and marched towards the Hoshigakure; in response, the boy Nova commander Ayato Hyuuga organized the nearby shinobi forces into a coherent force and confronted the rebels.
The two forces met in an unnamed valley, and both armies were in balance. As this happened, a famous duel occurred, with Ayato and Haegon coming across each other. The fight went for many minutes before Haegon injured the boy kage, leaving him blind and bleeding severely.
Rather than marching on, breaking the loyalist line, impressed by the Hyuuga’s courage, Haegon made the grave error save his fallen foe so others wouldn’t run over him in the ongoing struggle. It was that act of chivalry that gave Shina Uzumaki enough time to position herself on a nearby ridge and rain down her adamantine sealing chains on Vaenar’s brother, piercing through Vaenar’s armor cutting him to pieces.
Vaenar saw this and led a mad charge against her, but Yasha Okami appeared behind him and stabbed him in the eye. Suppose Haegon had walked over Ayato and Harold Graymane had not slain the two kings’ guard when he caught them looting the palace. If Hikari Namikaze had no sealed off the archives’ weapons, Kharjo Yamaguchi had proven true instead of treacherous. So many ifs, anyone had come out; differently, it would have turned the other way.
It didn’t matter now, Vaenar supposed. All the men and women who had marched beside him to name his brother Haegon the true leader of Hoshigakure and King of Haven had melted away like morning mists. Perhaps he dreamed them, or more likely, Shina had put the fear in them.
----
Vaenar was awake. The one-eyed warrior slipped out of his night robes and, after washing his face at the basin, began to clad into his ornate and black, gold armor buckled his swordbelt. Finally, he pinned the cloak of green silk at his shoulder with a golden broch shaped like the head of a dragon.
The swordsman looked at the figure inside the mirror. Hair that looked more beaten gold than silver hung past the shoulders. His left side was comely, with sharp cheekbones and a violet eye beneath a light brow. The area near the right eye was a ruin with nothing but scarred tissue and blue sapphire in place of a missing eyeball.
The world was to see his smiling eye today, that of the repenting man. It was a security mission protecting one of the younger Genin of the village. Vaenar's favorite horse was saddled and waiting in the yard. Nagasaki of Iwagakure and Harold Graymane fell in beside him as he rode through the yard. Their steel cap and mail shirt must have been uncomfortable, but they said no word of complaint. The same being to be Vaenar's handler after his release. Perhaps they waited for a whiff of treachery so that they could cut him down. Especially Harold was known to lust for battle more than he did for women.
As they passed beneath the Hoshimura's keep into the noise of the city, Vaenar's green cloak streaming in the wind from his shoulders, he pushed his warhorse into a trot through the desolate streets. But his parole officers followed.
Someone would most likely compose one or two good books describing this majestic jewel of architecture that served as the City Square. Vaenar much prefers his own cast but was positive that it was a location that held a special meaning in the hearts of the locals and also to that of the travelers.
The streets were desolate and calm, where otherwise they would be brimming with people. Especially with the Chuunin Exam that took place – or at least Hoshigakure versions of them. In a few hours from now, you would have to push and squeeze and curse amidst the baffling crowd if you wanted to reach the market. And to think once, they believed shinobi to be the offsprings of demons and chakra the manifestation of evil.
Those days felt like a thousand years ago now.
Vaenar took a turn off the square where the Iron district began and followed its twisted path to the gates of Hoshi. After that, there was only the desert until he reached the mines. It appeared the One-Eyed warrior was the last to arrive.
"Morning," Vaenar said, placing a gauntleted hand on the hit of his sword. They all knew who he was; his figure was well known in the entirety of Haven. "I'm here for your protection. Proceed as you otherwise would."

The first person to arrive was someone who she didn’t recognize; they were slightly taller than she was, with a similar build to the Akari Genin. They had green eyes and brown hair, though most of that was obscured by a hood. It was hard to tell at first whether or not they were male or female due to a very androgynous upper face. The lower half of their face was covered by a gasmask, similar to that of someone else she’d recently met. Their voice was decidedly male though, as they introduced themselves as Typhon. “Nice to meet you Typhon, I am Anastasia.” Anastasia raised her eyebrow at his last comment, “oh? And why would that not be a good idea?” There could be a myriad of reasons, but the Akari Genin would forgo making assumptions, preferring to hear the actual answer from Typhon himself.
The next person to arrive was a familiar face. It would appear that Sebastian Loghain would also be joining them on their mission. The gate guards eyed him warily but they didn’t actively bar him as they would not be performing the mission inside the village. The fact that he was being treated this way bothered her. Of course she didn’t know the reason, but she disliked when people were being essentially segregated. The Akari Genin would smile as Sebastian greeted her. “Hello Sebastian, it’s nice to see you again too.” They had worked on a series of missions the other day, and she hadn’t had any issues with him. Loghain looked at Typhon with some form of confused expression, asked him if he was okay, and then apologised and introduced himself.
The final person that appeared to be joining them on the mission was probably one of the most well known people in all of Hoshigakure. Vaenar Hoshimura was several inches taller than the Akari Genin, with a warrior’s build, one purple eye, one blue eye that was not actually an eye, and silver hair. He was wearing his traditional armour and had his sword at his side as usual. He greeted them and advised them that he was to be their protection for the day while they completed their assigned missions. That suited Anastasia fine, for she had chosen not to bring anything of her own, not that she really had much to work with right now anyways.
Vaenar was a curious individual; the brother of Haegon, the one who lead a failed coup attempt against the village. Anastasia was not there to join either side, but her family had definitely sided with the current Hogokage and his followers. Somehow in the aftermath, Vaenar was allowed to rejoin the village which made no sense to her personally, but if that was the Hogokage’s wish then so be it. The Akari Genin didn’t harbour any grudge with him since it was all in the past, but he would naturally need to work to earn her respect, just like anyone else in the village.
“It’s nice to meet you Vaenar,” She would say to the Hoshimura bodyguard. She would then turn to the rest of the group and say “I think we’re good to head out now.” Should there by no objections, Anastasia would lead the group out of the gates towards their destination. They were headed to one of the few mines that were located in Haven Country. They were primarily large pits and quarries dug deep into the ground, and they were headed to the closest one, which was still several hours away. This also happened to be the biggest source of iron and silver that the village had access to. As a result of the high demand for both, it meant that there were plenty of mission contracts set up by the Red Council to acquire additional support at these mines to ensure continuous flow of the valuable metals kept up with the demand from the forges inside Hoshigakure itself. When they arrived at the mine, they were directed to the mining office where the foreman would give them their mission briefing. Anastasia, having never done this before, listened with earnest. The entire process of mining ore, purifying it into ingots, and then forging it into weapons and armour intrigued her and she wanted to learn as much about it as she possibly could.

The finely dressed young woman introduced herself as Anastasia. Ty couldn't help but feel a little intimidated by her. He felt keenly aware of his unkempt sense of style while talking to someone wearing a tiara. He'd never spent much time around any of Hoshi's upper class.
Deciding not to dwell on class differences he put on a big smile, though it'd be hard to tell what with his mask covering half his face, and said, "Pleasure to meet you Anastasia..."
He went to explain what he meant about the handshake when another member of the group arrived. A well built man with striking dark hair. He appeared to be dressed casually as well which put Ty's nerves at ease. The man showed a look of concern for Typhon's well-being, something that wasn't uncommon for him. He introduced himself as Sebastian Loghain. Ty was glad he could explain himself to the both of them. It would save him time.
"I can assure you both I am fine. Members of my family are born with an illness. You have no reason to worry, as long as I wear this mask I won't be contagious to the people around me." He would explain as concisely as possible. No need to go into any specifics for just a mining trip. "I look forward to working with you both."
Not long after Sebastian had arrived the sounds of horses trotting began to get closer. The final member of the group would be a surprising one for sure: Vaenar Hoshimura. The man was clad in a beautiful set of armor and had a sword on his hip. Somewhat of an infamous figure in the village, he was one of those at the forefront of the Civil War between the royals and the Hogokage. Typhon was only a boy when that all took place and was busy taking care of his father. His mother, ever loyal to the royal family, would certainly have fought along with the other Canopic clan members had she not died shortly beforehand.
Ty never blamed any of the royals or shinobi for what happened during the war. He understood too little of what had happened to start the conflict and didn't care either way who was wrong and who was right. All he cared about was seeing friends and family turn up dead. It was a sad time and he was glad it was over. He thought it was kind of the village to give Vaenar another chance at trust. Everyone deserves a second chance.
"I will feel much safer now with you around." Ty would say to Vaenar as they headed toward their destination.
He had never been to the mines before and so he made sure to pay attention during their orientation. He didn't want to be the one who messed something up. It was all pretty interesting, getting to learn about the entire ore gathering and smelting process. Pretty simple stuff but it looked as if it would still be hard work.

The meet and greet went fairly smoothly at the gates, each of them offering one another their names. The man with a mask would explain his condition, which honestly didn’t put the wolf at ease. There was some sort of illness plaguing not only himself, but all of his clan. “If you are ever in need of a doctor, Doctor Terumi is who I recommend. He is very knowledgeable and probably the most well versed medical shinobi I have met.” This was a true statement, though Loghain hadn’t honestly met a great deal of medical shinobi to compare. Still, the man was particularly adept at what he did, as he was able to engineer a treatment to prevent the young wolf from transforming against his will. His own training had made such unneeded, but it still showcased the man’s prowess.
It wouldn’t be long until the sounds of horses made their way to the trio. A man clad in armor would approach, his demeanor suggesting someone of authority or importance. The wolf didn’t immediately recognize the man, despite it being hard to forget someone like this. It wasn’t until Lady Anastasia spoke up that the wolf placed the name and face together in his mind. This man standing before them, their protector, had once been considered a traitor to the village and aimed to rebel for the sake of his brother achieving his ambition to rule. Loghain couldn’t help but find common ground with this man. They were both given second chances, despite their former actions. It really spoke volumes about the Hogokage, knowing that those of worth could count on the man for a chance for redemption. Some would see this as a weakness, while Loghain only saw it as true strength.
Loghain would offer a nod of his head, lowering it only slightly to acknowledge Vaeners seniority. The man was there as their escort for protection, though none of the others were dressed for combat. If combat was expected, shouldn’t the whole team be prepared? Then it slowly clicked in his mind. Vaenar was not there to protect them from some outside force, Vaenar was there to protect them from Loghain… He was likely assigned as the wolf’s handler for this mission. It was expected to a degree, though Loghain had all but completely mastered the beast within. The likelihood of him changing without willing it so was almost nil. Still, protocols and procedures are to be followed until proven they aren’t needed and then revoked...
The wolf would follow the others, matching their pace to the best of his ability. It wouldn’t be long before they made it to the mines. It was a sight to behold, as he had never been out to the mines. The quarry was massive, suggesting that either the demand was far greater than he would have ever expected or the mine is incredibly depleted and not producing the raw ore it needs to. The foreman seemed to give them the basics, showing them on a map of the quarry where they were supposed to go. Supposedly it was a new shaft that was supposed to be filled with large veins of metal for them to mine. “How much exactly are we supposed to dig up?” He would ask, unsure of the scope of this mission. He had no issue with the manual labor of it, but glancing over at the others made him wonder if they were as well equipped for such a task. A noble, a sickly young man, and a knight. Not exactly who you would expect to be doing this work.
Once they made their way to the shaft, Loghain would speak up again. “How would you like to split the tasks? If you would prefer, I can break away at the veins and haul the rock to whatever is being used to transport it.” He wouldn’t know for certain if the shaft was yet equipped with a cart to haul the rocks, so it might have to be done by hand via wheelbarrow. “That would leave you folks to better refine it down into usable metal. Honestly, I’d prefer not to touch the metal more than needed…” He would look over to their knightly escort. “Are you here to assist as well, or are you here purely to keep us safe? I only ask so that we can get an idea of how best to divide all of the labor.”

The little ninja looked at the pardoned traitor funny; perhaps it was the armor. There were disadvantages to armor-like drowning, and chain mail was heavier than the plate itself. But warriors like Vaenar wore armor because it protected them. The swordsman was not fond of those queer shinobi flak jackets. They looked comfortable, and that was the only good thing Vaenar could say about them.
There would be three shinobi partaking on this mission. The most prominent figure was a muscular young man with a strong jawline. The guards that stood underneath the open portcullis with their headbands shining in the sun were all incredibly unnerved at the brute’s presence. "This has to be the guy.” The golden dragon thought with aching pain.
The other, a sickly-looking boy in the group, was courteous enough, but the swordsman could not help but notice the most curious part about him was his face. He didn’t have one. A strange mask was placed across it, hiding it from plain sight.
“And on my honor I promise that you shall be safe.” Vaenar proclaimed to Ty putting a hand on the pommel of his sword, his silver hair streaming in the wind behind him.
Next to him, covered in light and excitement, stood Anastasia Akari.
“It’s nice to meet you, Vaenar,” Said the woman, who did not share Hoshimura's tendency of holding grudges. Judging from how amiably she acted anyway. But Vaenar hated the Akari. Her family was a prominent supporter of the current Hogokage. Her cousin, Masashi Uzumaki, was believed to be closer to the Kage than anyone. The Uzumaki-Akari had even been promoted to Jounin after Haegon’s rebellion. Albeit nobody was sure why, as he wasn’t seen doing any fighting.
“The pleasure is all mine, lady Anastasia.” He said finally.
---
The Hoshimura frequently looked behind him as the group made their way to the mines. Vaenar was uncertain he wasn't going to his execution. Since Yasha Okami took his eye, the shadow of a guillotine haunted him. And today, having to worry about a werewolf transformation made him anxious than usual.
Are you here to assist as well, or are you here purely to keep us safe? I only ask so that we can get an idea of how best to divide all of the labor.” The brute inquired after pondering the workload for a few moments. Vaenar studied Loghain's shape as he spoke, the black hair, eyes like onyx. “Yes, I see it.” Vaenar is recognized in the humidity of the mines. The bastard looked very much like a younger, thinner version of his father.
Vaenar always was bold, willful, hot-tempered, unforgiving, and grew to become a proficient and deadly swordsman. Serious and decisive individual, he was made for killing. But there were men in this world that scared even him growing up. The horrific stories that they might have heard about Axwell Florent did not do the man any justice; if anything, they had been watered down.
“Look, kid, we both know if things go south in this little gathering. It will be in the best interest of you and your friends to find me holding bare steel over a pickaxe.”

Typhon would explain why shaking his hand was a bad idea after Sebastian had made his presence known. His family suffered from an illness that didn’t seem to cause him any issue but was virulent provided that they didn’t wear protective gear like the mask that he wore. It had her thinking about someone else that she’d encountered recently. “hmmm, do you happen to know someone by the name of Takeda Takeshi by any chance?” she would ask Typhon. It didn’t seem to be coincidence that she would run into two people that wore gas masks simply for the fun of it. Perhaps they were both afflicted of the same illness.
Sebastian mentioned a Doctor Terumi, someone who may be able to assist Typhon should it be required. “Another name that may be worth mentioning is that of my cousin,” Anastasia would say after Sebastian had said his piece. Not in the interest of one-upping her ally of course. “Masashi Uzumaki-Akari is a skilled Doctor and medical shinobi. I do also know his primary area of study in medical school was genetics, which may be beneficial to you if you’re interested in trying to develop a way for you to be around others without the need for your mask.” Of course she had no idea whether or not this would be possible, but it seemed like something that could be reasonably done with the right person.
Vaenar’s face was unreadable to her greeting. She was familiar with the history between her family and that of the Hoshimura clan, and realised that there was a potential for there to be bad blood. Frankly, the Akari Genin didn’t care about history; actions spoke louder and if you were willing to show that you can be trusted, then she would give you the benefit of the doubt. He said that he was there to protect them and she would take him at his word, it was a disservice otherwise.
The mine’s foreman directed them to a single large mineshaft that had already been dug where there were large deposits of iron and silver. They weren’t exactly given a quota; it was more “The mission has you here for four hours. Whatever work you can do during that timeframe would be considered sufficient in my eyes.” There were several things that needed to be done, as the foreman went over the list of steps as part of the mission briefing. Ore had to be mined, both iron and silver. The ore would then need to be brought from the mineshaft to the processing facility where it would be melted down and the impurities removed. The iron would go through separate step which would turn it into steel. After that, the molten metals would then be formed into ingots, which would be ready to transport when properly cooled. As the cooling process would take a while, they would transport the previously forged batch of ingots. When Sebastian started talking about the division of labour, Vaenar mentioned that since he was here for their protection he would not be assisting with the collection efforts. That made sense, what would be the point of a guard if they were distracted by doing the manual labour. Anastasia would speak up at that point, “I believe it would be easiest for all three of us to simply mine out any ore deposits that are around us and stick iron ore into one minecart, and silver ore into another. Then we would all bring it up together.” Should the rest of the team be fine with this setup, Anastasia would grab a pickaxe and start mining out any ore she came across and loading it into a nearby minecart, making sure not to mix up the ores.

Both Sebastian and Anastasia suggested he see some doctors. It wasn't as if he had never tried to see a doctor before, but that he was told time and time again that there was nothing to be done for his condition. It wasn't something he minded particularly. The virus didn't really cause any discomfort or pain for him. He would think about it for sure.
"Thank you for the suggestions, I'll be sure to look into them. I am not particularly in a hurry to get cured. I'm not hindered by this disease much and it won't effect my performance on the job." He would say trying to sound sure of himself. It would be nice to be able to leave his home without a mask, but not a top priority.
Anastasia mentioned another name, Takeda Takeshi. It didn't ring any bells. "I can't say that I know the name. Another doctor?" Ty would ask.
Vaenar seemed like an honorable enough man and Ty couldn't help but notice how regal he looked with his shining armor and silver flowing hair. Typhon felt a little intimidated but he was not afraid. His companions all seemed like capable people.
The division of work was relatively easy and Typhon would feel safer having a guard standing watch. This was his first time in the mines and a watchful eye would be important if a cave in were to happen. Ty's work would be simple. Swing a pick and harvest whatever ores he can find.
"Sounds good to me. Let's get to it then. Four hours can't be that bad." He'd laugh as he grabbed up a pickaxe. It was heavier than he expected. He thought to himself that he'd need to bulk up a little if he wanted to be up to shinobi standards. This exercise would be a good start he figured.
He'd begin swinging and cracking ores out from the stones. Ty had imagined the silver he mined would be shiny and beautiful, but the reality was different. Before the refining process it wouldn't be anything special. He would work diligently and tried to take very few breaks. His muscles were sore but the young man pushed through the pain and tried to get a real good workout from this job. As time went on the carts they were sorting in began to fill up pretty nicely.
"I'm actually surprised at how much we managed to dig up."
