catching up(IO/NK daiko)

A normal person would be surprised or even startled by Daiko's sudden shift in volume. Saya was not exactly a normal kinda girl. She immediately matched his energy, sitting forward, her eyes glistening with excitement as she waited for what he'd just realized or thought of. She was not disappointed. 

"YES!!!!! I mean. I prolly learned like a thing or two maybe?" Her body language shifted a much more casual facade as she shrugged, waving off the suggestion.... except. She didn't wave it off with her hands. Pulsing her chakra, She activated her sealless S ranked technique, and six flowers formed on specific spots on her body. From her wrist a long vine seemed to simply stretch out of nothingness, waving off the suggestion with a sassy little flick. 

"Ragnar has been teaching me a whole bunch about these gods and goddesses called the norse pantheon, and teaching me about Viking culture! And then lets see. I also learned the lightning element, and even created a bunch of new jutsus!!!! Oh right. Also uh. " She reached out, placing a hand on Ragnar's belly. The basking otter opened one eye to squint at her as she placed her palm down on his fur. She could feel the energy shift from his body to hers, a surge of strength filling her form. Then it happened.

Beneath the flower that formed from her great grasping vines jutsu a thick black band circled around her wrist. Tree roots seemed to crawl up her skin in black ink, creating long branching black tribal tatoos that disappeared beneath her top. Another black tatoo like band wrapped around her collar, and at the center of her throat, The senju symbol seemed to bloom on her skin. If he had chakra sensory, the difference between the casually sitting girl and what was now before him would be night and day. She'd nearly doubled in power the moment she allowed her body to consume the nature energy given by her summon. 

"I may have learned one other thing. Its called like. The mode of sages or something?" In her new super powered form she simply shrugged, turning her arms over so that he could see the tribal design that had spread across her body. 

"It's sage mode, and you really should have been practicing more with this. You'll need to figure out how to actually use Sage mode if I'm not around Saya. That means you have to take some time and practice your meditation so that you can get in tune with the nature around you and actually figure out how to draw nature chakra yourself. " Ragnar hadn't actually moved more than just shifting his glance and speaking. He didn't need to. As long as he was passing energy to her he could feel her energy. 

"Yea Yea. OR I could just keep summoning you or someone else from the clan if I ever have to use that jutsu. Honestly, I don't think i'll need to use the mode of sages very often. "

Daiko blinks for a second, listening to the barrage of information that Saya was currently throwing at him. It was a lot to take in at first, but then he realized what she was talking about. It made much more sense now. "Oh! That's a lot of really cool stuff." Daiko looks over at the small otter that was simply vibing out on the couch, who had just seemingly transferred her some nature chakra. Daiko had done quite a bit of research into nature chakra and what to do with it, though he hasn't yet managed to find any techniques that work very well with it. He has considered finding a way to infuse regular jutsu with it, though he hadn't really been the sitting still and thinking type as of late. For the most part, he just kind of decides to run around and do whatever it was that would catch his fancy at any given moment. It was no matter. Daiko stretched out his arms, looking around the room again before listening to the next thing that she had to say. 

Daiko nodded his head when he heard about this sage mode. He felt the spike in her power for a moment but was baffled with how much it had actually gone up. He had a few techniques that were able to make him stronger, though there was nothing to this degree. It was incredible. "Wow. It's like... You're like an oven or something like that. I can feel the energy radiating off of you." Daiko scratches his head. Though he really wanted to learn this right now, he didn't really have the capacity to learn more than he did already. He wasn't sure if it was because he hadn't ripped anyone's heart out lately, or what it was. Either way, he really wanted to get done with all of this nonsense and back to being able to train with his friend here. Right now he was essentially waiting for his own body to become stronger, without putting much effort into it. It was a shame. Either way, he was going to learn this technique or some variation at some point. 

Daiko nods his head. "That is really impressive. I want to try to learn something like that someday." Daiko nodded his head. "But... I learned a few tricks of my own." Daiko grinned and rubbed his hands together for a second before looking at both Saya and the otter. "Do y'all want to see something really fucking cool? I'm talking like. Something that'll change your life forever. You're gonna love me so much for this technique I swear." Daiko had a visible grin, in no way exaggerated. He was genuinely happy to be able to show Saya this next technique, though he held off on the hand signs for the exact moment. If she would say yes, he would do the hand-seals necessary to do Starburst and get ready to do something super awesome. He had just thought of this right now.

"Yep! I was struggling pretty hard after the hunters cuz like. Ai turning a girl into hibachi and then not being good enough to complete the other mission and totally letting you down. I'm sorry I failed by the way. Been working real hard so it'll never ever happen again!" Bless her heart. Of course the girl who strived to be the salvation of the world, protector of the innocent, and just generally the one everyone counted on would take the loss completely on herself. It wasn't fair to her, but that was the way she was. While she fought to push thoughts from her head, The memories of their gruesome hunter mixed with the seconds of the hyuuga bartender slipping out the window over and over again. She'd tested every angle, found every technique she could, to make sure when Daiko counted on her, she wouldn't fail again.

"This technique is called sage mode. Pure sage mode to be precise. It requires intense control of the nature chakra around oneself in order to keep the users body clean of any impurities, stopping a partial shift between the user and their summons form. OR in the case of Sayatria, It requires a summon with the skill to control this change constantly keeping in contact with her so that she doesn't have to figure out how to sit still for for a few minutes because she's a wiggle worm. " While it was clear that Ragnar was skilled at teaching, and mostly his tone suggested that he was stating objective observations, there was a slight heir of frusteration. He'd tried for weeks to teach her in the old ways. She learned all of the lore he taught, soaking it like a sponge, but when time came to sit on a plank of wood on top of a spike so she could learn to take in nature chakra.... It didn't end well.

"YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!! I cannot wait to see whatever it is you've learned! we've been apart for so long I thought you might have left me or something!" She didn't directly say she'd thought her failure had caused him to seek out better teammates, but she thought it. As the consideration hung in the air, Ai let out a sigh, placing a hand on her sister's shoulder for support.

"There are a few other things she's learned in the time you two have been apart, but this has been the bulk of them. Pinochio and I also have a living body now.... Though I will be with her when my human self is not, of course. She's become quite the adept at ninjutsu. I hope one day to be able to do what she's done." Saya rolled her eyes at her sister. Of course she would be a super amazing ninjutsu specialist. She was literally a clone of Saya. With all of her other tasks, it was dificult for her to find the time saya had to practice, but it was only a matter of time. Saya just grinned in response.

Daiko's eyes widen when the girl here talks about sage mode. It was pretty impressive, to say the absolute least. Nothing crazy was really going on, though Daiko felt in his core that this would be something that he would have to pick up at one time or another. It was really fortunate that Saya was here to teach him. He took a moment to think about it. She had been here in so many different instances, teaching him the ways of the ninja. He had gotten a good basis from his previous sensei, but she had shown him that there can be a lighter side to things. It was refreshing, to say the least. Deep down in his heart(s) he knew that there were other purposes that had him clinging to this mortal coil, but he didn't think that this would be the best person to discuss it with. No matter though. With Ragnar around and her power obviously being much greater than it was the first time they had gone against the rogue ninja, Daiko felt confident that she would be safe on her own. 

"Oh, by the way. Check out this dope scroll. If you sign this, that means that no matter where I am, tofu or not, I can summon you and we can take down any dudes that wanna hurt us or the village."

She was the might queen of cosplay, anyways. Daiko nodded his head, listening to everything she had to say. He was really happy that he ended up visiting her, and would probably make her acquaintance again soon enough. "Well... I had a really amazing time today. Perhaps some time soon... I'll show you the technique I was talking about. We'll talk about it over some mappo tofu, okay?" Daiko smiled slightly, and then slowly began to go to the elevator. He would push the button, and slowly go up. This was such a nice house. It really was amazing what she was able to accomplish with her wood jutsu. Daiko only wished that someday he might be able to learn how exactly it was done. He understood how to use earth chakra, but he really didn't understand the distinction. Either way, Daiko stretched out and continued on his way. Once he made it out of the lobby of her house, he would set off on the streets and perhaps look for something else to do. 

Daiko was in a pretty good mood lately, though something was hanging over his head. It wasn't entirely a bad thing, though at the same time it was as if something was missing. It had been a long time since he had actually done anything to increase his power. This conversation with Saya was a strong reminder of that. She seemed to be getting stronger and stronger everytime he brushed shoulders with her, and he faintly recalled a time when they were on around equal footing. He decided that ti would be best to find something to do... Something that would make him stronger again, like the last time that he had grown in power. It was something about people's hearts... Something about DNA. He wasn't entirely sure, but he felt that in some regards he would be able to claim this power for himself some day.

"Awe. But I have so much more to show you! I have a suiton jutsu that works to like. grind people up like meat, and i've been working on so much wood style ninjutsu. I've been working on a way to make like. A full body jutsu to protect the user. I read about a super powerful jutsu called kanzeon lotus king or something like that. It's like a million meters tall and has literally a hundred arms, but that just felt like way too much, so i figured if i could figure out the form for it, I could summon it directly from my body, reduce the size to make it cost less and just generally be way more maneuverable, and then I would be inside it so anyone who wants to harm me would have to go thorugh the jutsu first. It's a really cool idea! " She was still talking as Daiko decided to head towards the door. Something may have been up. Maybe he had important buisiness he had to attend or something? Still, he'd offered mappo tofu, and she knew he'd be back for training soon. Now that the issues of their last mission were dealt with, they would both be free to work together in missions and training again.

"Bye Daiko, Nice to see you as always." It was Ai who actually accepted that he needed to leave. Saya followed suit, giving a wave as her friend walked out the door. It was probably for the best. She'd put off actually working more on her sage mode training because she hated it. The power of the technique was so much that she absolutely needed the strength, but how do you explain to the add senju girl an effective way to just sit still and not move? It seemed an impossible task. SHe'd tried everything she could think of. SHe'd listened to music, she'd hummed, she had even tried to close her mind to the outside world, but no matter what she attempted, the result was the same. She shifted as her body twitched, and she found herself slipping off the podium and to the ground. She suggested that maybe he could just always be around, and then when she needed it, she could just toss him in a back pack, he tears through so he can directly touch her enough to pass nature energy, and bing bang boom, sage mode BUT he was very much not into it.

"Now that we're alone Sayatria, its time to head downstairs. I've set up a bunch more wooden slabs that balance on the point of spikes for you to sit on. Try not to destroy them this time please?" And with that, they returned to training. She had a night to look forward to. A night of balance, and silence, and absolutely everything she hated most about training.

"Fine. but aftewards I'm getting double mappo tofu. YOu can have some too if you want! " They headed to the elevator.
