A busy day [P/Daiko]
Thu Jul 29, 2021 5:44 pm
- Missions:
Renovate The Bridge - D Rank
Family Visit - C Rank
Shopping Spree Supervisor - C Rank
Missing Monkey - B Rank
Right then, Dana had been putting it off for far too long but it was time for her to actually get started on all these missions she needed to do. She didn't really consider herself a lazy person but she definitely was when it counted. The young Senju stepped out of her room wearing her finest clothes: a dark turtleneck, shorts that went halfway down her shins, sandals, and a backpack full of supplies she'd need for the day. Quite a fashionable collection of clothes that was sure to wow and impress anyone who looked upon her.
When she stepped downstairs into the tavern that her room was above, a literal glass smashed on the wall just to the side. She furrowed her brow and looked around the room, her gaze settling on the owner of the tavern and also her landlord. He looked annoyed.
"Did ye just throw a glass at me?" Dana asked in an oddly serene manner considering the circumstances, she didn't look even the slightest bit put off by his aggression. In fact, she looked downright happy. She gave the man a calm smile that only seemed to further his anger judging from the way he grit his teeth, "That's not healthy ye know, gonna need to get new teeth by the time yer forty."
"Rent." Was all the man said, crossing his large arms 'menacingly'. Dana waved him off with a lazy flick of her arm and an easy smirk. She continued walking through the bar area and at the door, she turned back to the man.
"Ooh, how scary." She deadpanned, "Ye'll get it tonight."
After leaving the tavern, Dana took a stroll through the village looking for someone to do some missions with. No way would she be able to get them all done alone. So, after finding a busy area at the village's largest open market, she called upon the vast power of her bloodline to create... A chair. She set up shop between two of the stalls and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. Once sat down, the young Senju reached into her backpack and pulled out a wooden sign that had the words "Partner for missions needed, please apply here." on its face. She held it up and leaned back into the newly created chair with a satisfied smile. There was literally no way she wouldn't make a new friend or two on this fine day!

Man. If you thought that Dana was the one putting off doing missions, you should've seen Daiko. He had been doing pretty well for the village weeks prior, grinding out all of the available missions in order to grow his strength and fill his pockets. There wasn't too much to say about it, other than the fact that he was getting a bit tired of work. He really enjoyed the different fights and battles that he was able to be a part of, though he didn't like the effect that it had on Saya. Last he spoke with her, she didn't seem too broken up about it... But Daiko wouldn't forget that look in her eyes when it had all happened. They had both left in silence, and it had been weeks since Daiko had started making a regular appearance in the village again.
Daiko was wearing his usual attire, just a black hoodie with black sweatpants. This wasn't exactly the best attire to wear in a tropical area, but it definitely worked. Aside from that, Daiko decided that his best bet was to do what always worked whenever he was looking for Saya. To just simply sit on a bench and wait for her to appear. Taking his time, he slowly walks out to the usual area, filled with bustling people and whatnot. By the time he had gotten there, he decided to test his luck sitting on the bench that for whatever reason, he was always at. Don't question it.
Sitting down, Daiko looks up at the clouds for a moment, wondering what exactly he would be getting into these next few days. He wasn't entirely sure what all there was to do, though that was of little concern to him. He figured that there could be some simple missions that he could do, get a little bit of extra cash, and find some way to spend it. Stretching out, Daiko yawns and looks forward, before seeing something that caught his attention. There was... Someone... Who...
Daiko jolted up from his seat, running towards this flashy figure, it seemed to be some sort of lady around his age, who had just done the unthinkable. With pure chakra and willpower alone.. They had created a bench. Not only did this impress Daiko in his current state of mind, but it was also sick as fuck in general. So many times had he needed a place to sit down, and his trusty bench was the only place that had worked for him. This would be the person with who he would do missions, there was no question about it. "Yo. That's a nice bench you got there. For real..." Daiko scratches the back of his head and blinks once. "You a kunoichi? I'm trying to get some missions out of the way, I wanna get some money or something." Daiko nodded his head and then pointed at the mission's office. "Lead the way. Pick out some missions. Try not to make them too boring."

Re: A busy day [P/Daiko]

It turned out that she didn't have to wait long at all! Although she hadn't spotted Daiko approaching her, Dana's friend senses had been tingling the moment he had locked eyes on her sick ability to create a bench. Her head whirled to face him, white hair whipping around everywhere when he spoke to her. He'd suddenly have Dana's intense and slightly scary gaze boring directly into his own, though the scariness would be stifled somewhat by the big grin on her face. She lept off the bench and put the sign back into her backpack, sure she wouldn't need it anymore now that someone had approached her.
"Yo thanks man, comes in pretty handy from time to time." She'd say, subconsciously taking on the vocal mannerisms of the boy who'd approached her. Her heavy Irish accent was still present, but it was a lot more subtle now that she was speaking to him for some bizarre reason, "Yeah of course I'm a Kunoichi! Ye think anyone could make a feckin' bench from their hands like that?" She huffed faux-indignantly, and waved her hands about in front of her face to emphasize her statement. She was super proud of the carpenter Jutsu that Saya had taught her since it was so useful in situations like this, it felt nice for it to be complimented.
She followed his gaze to the mission office that was conveniently just down the road from the current position and nodded when he asked her to not make them boring. "I'll do my best!"
Dana skipped across the street and burst through the doors of the mission building, almost hitting a poor old woman with the swinging doors as she did so. The young Senju didn't even spare the angry lady a glance as she skidded across the room towards the board with several different posters on it. There was quite a large selection so she took a few seconds to read over them all, putting the ones she found interesting into her backpack. When she got to the last poster Dana giggled; it looked like it had been written by a distraught R&D worker in a massive hurry. Apparently, Kirigakure had genetically modified monkeys running around now? It seemed like it could be entertaining so she picked it up.
"Yo do these look okay?" She would ask the man, assuming he had followed her into the mission building. She held out the posters in front of her so he could get a good look at them if he chose to do so. "The name's Dana. Dana Senju." She told the man after he got a good look, extending a small hand towards him in the universal gesture of a polite handshake.
"Right then, looks like our first task is to renovate a bridge... Seems simple enough, and I know just the Jutsu to use!" She declared loudly to the entire room. There was some awkward shuffling from the various people inside as none of them knew quite how to react to the small girl who was now just standing still. She shook herself, having lost concentration for a brief moment, and began to walk back across the room and through the doors. She slammed them open, once again nearly hitting the poor elderly lady who'd only just left the mission building, and started the journey to the first mission location.

Daiko nods his head. Of course, of course. If they were able to make things like benches and things to that degree, it would make perfect sense that they would be able to build a bridge. This would be interesting to watch, for sure. Daiko would follow this girl wherever it was that she decided to go, and he would love to see what her abilities were. She seemed pretty nice, though she had almost killed an old lady several times in the short moments that they were actually in the mission's office. It was amusing, to say the least, but Daiko was 100% here for it. He had definitely had some run-ins with old people that didn't know when to get out of the way. Anyways, by the time they began to head to the bridge, Daiko was thinking about the different things that they would be taking on these missions today. It wasn't too difficult to see that they would be able to handle just about anything that came their way, considering they both seemed to be capable shinobi. Perhaps he would ask her later about training with him. He really wanted someone to teach him how to do wood-style jutsu, though he felt like he was missing something.
It always came down to missing something with him. It was somewhat upsetting, though he was happy with the abilities that he'd gathered thus far. He was able to proficiently use Doton, and he had just recently picked up Raiton. He wondered if he would be able to teach any of his students the way to utilize such a release. In any case, he continued to do his thing, enjoying himself all the while. By the time they had finally made it to the bridge, Daiko would look over at Dana and point to it. He had a few tricks up his sleeve as well, though he figured that this one could mostly be handled by her. Though he was a capable ninja, he had never really considered that building things could be just as useful as destroying them. Most of the things he was able to use created sinkholes, or some sort of snares to trap opponents in. He didn't really have any method to create a bridge, other than making the earth come up and essentially form the walkway out of the ground under the water. This area seemed a bit too big for the moment, and he decided to let Dana do the more eloquent option.
Stretching his shoulders out, Daiko watches to see what she does, and by the time they were finished, he immediately gets ready to head over to the next mission. Hopefully, she would be able to lead the way. "Alright, so. We're done with this one. Nice job Nice job. What's next on the list? Maybe you could let me take care of this one this time." Daiko nods his head, and gives her a thumbs up after the first task had been completed.

The man had either missed her handshake or didn't think it was appropriate to reciprocate it, that was fine. She brought back her extended hand and scratched the neck of her turtleneck without a hint of any of the usual awkwardness that such an action would display. Dana wasn't the kind of person to dwell on mini social faux-pas like that one. She was sure that this guy whose name she didn't actually know yet was a perfectly nice guy and had just missed her hand. She was pretty small so her arm was probably out of his line of sight. Yeah, that was definitely it.
The two made good time to the bridge and Dana nodded when he gestured towards the bridge, obviously implying that she should be the one to do it. That was probably the most efficient and smart way to go about this quick mission since Dana possessed a Jutsu that was perfectly suited for a quick building job like this. She stepped toward the bridge as her hands came together to form several hand seals once in range: Hare, Boar, Unity, Hare, and Dragon. Ten logs rose from the water and, like clay, began to shift and flow together to form a walkway between them. The single instance of the Jutsu had only managed to build a bridge that went halfway across the warer, so Dana had to move closer and reactivate the Jutsu to form more of the bridge. Once done, there was a perfectly adequate bridge fit with guard rails to prevent people from accidentally walking off. Dana had also made sure to make a "Dana was here" engraving on the bottom of the bridge, where it was unlikely to ever be found.
She did a small curtsey at the man's compliment and smiled widely; it felt good to be complimented for the change. "Thank ye, thank ye." She said jovially as she skipped up towards him, "By the way, I don't think I caught yer name?" She asked curiously. It felt somewhat rude to keep referring to him as 'the man' and 'the guy' in her thoughts so hopefully he would correct her soon.
"Next on the list is..." She shrugged off her backpack and knelt down on the floor to pull the slip out, "Some family needs to be persuaded to keep their mouth shut about something, it doesn't say what. Think ye are up for the task?" If the man was uncomfortable with the subject of this mission then Dana was completely fine with doing it herself, but she just wanted to make sure with him first. For all she knew this could be a dream come true for him.
If he was up for it, Dana would hand him the mission slip and then rustle around in her bag for a few seconds, eventually pulling out a grey cloak and mask. "I also got given this, the slip says it'll be more effective if the person undertaking the mission is wearing this outfit so it might be something ye want to consider."
Assuming everything was good, Dana would follow the man so he could do his own mission.

The bridge had been finished. She did an amazing job. "Oh, my name is Daiko. Sorry about that, haha." He also decided to shake her hand, because he was bad at noticing stuff like that most of the time. Either way, she had used her amazing jutsu and much to the joy of whoever had started this mission. It seemed like they had completed their task, and with flying colors. Nice! Either way, Daiko decided that it was about time that he took his leave. Before he did, he figured they would finish one more mission. Without giving her time to talk, Daiko picked one of the scrolls out of her hand/pocket, and looked at it. "Oh, this is easy enough. We have to go shopping quickly. Come, I'll lead the way." Sprinting, Daiko runs towards the shop, running down the list as fast as possible. He was hyped up for the moment, and he wanted them to accomplish as much as they possibly could before doing anything else. It was great. Daiko filled the cart to the absolute maximum, and they had been crushing the mission. It was no issue. Looking over at Dana, Daiko nods.
They had finished the mission. "Alright, Dana. Sorry about that. Sometimes there's this small part of me that gets really hyped up, and just has to do a mission quick before anything else goes on. Sorry about that, haha. Maybe the next one could be taken at a slightly slower pace, it's up to you though." Daiko nodded his head, thinking for a moment. This girl had woodstyle techniques that were pretty awesome, and pretty unique in and of themselves. Daiko recalled the fact that Saya was able to do things like this, and wondered if this was one of Saya's students. That would've been really awesome, honestly. Considering that she had been learning from her puppets, the idea that she would be able to teach this knowledge to someone else means that she was definitely getting really strong as a ninja. Either way, Daiko then waited to see what the girl had to say.
Daiko shook his head for a moment, staring somewhat off into the distance. He didn't feel like going to a family's home... Especially under these circumstances. "I'm sorry... I'm going to... Have to take you up on that offer another time. I'm sorry... I just... I can't right now, okay. This shit is getting to be too much for me... This village ninja here and there type shit. I'm sorry to have wasted your time. I'll see you again some time, believe me..."
After that sentence, Daiko would've just full-on ninja sprinted away. It wasn't that he didn't care about this young lady it's just... Damn. He had a lot of stuff on his plate right now. Sooner than later though, he would catch back up to her, and make up for whatever loss of ryo that she had endured by his fickle nature.

Dana found herself laughing rambunctiously whilst she trailed behind Daiko doing all the shopping. She didn't really get why the sight of Daiko absolutely belting it through the shops and throwing food items into the cart was so funny, but it was. It wasn't similar in any way, but Dana was reminded of the time she and Saya had absolutely destroyed the Training Facility while training together. She was truly thankful for the opportunities that actually leaving her room had afforded her; she couldn't imagine a life without these kinds of wacky hijinks in it. She noticed that she appeared to be capable of moving faster than him, which made her wonder where the man's specialties lay. She would've liked the chance to ask him about it, but she felt that would be a bit of a bad idea at this moment; he seemed to be in a rush.
"Don't be worrying about it." She waved away his apology. He seemed to be agitated about something and his whole vibe has suddenly taken a complete 180. She hoped it wasn't her fault somehow; had she triggered a memory by asking if he wanted to scare a family or something. He ran off, not even waiting for Dana to say goodbye. She sighed, assuming she'd done something wrong again. It was always her fault, why couldn't she just... Not do anything wrong for once. He seemed like a nice fellow and she was looking forward to getting to know him a bit better.
After the small downfall of her mood, Dana trudged back to the mission center to hand in what missions they did manage to complete. She also had to hand back some mission posters, which was a first for her. The one good thing to come out of the day was that she had managed to gather enough funds to keep her landlord off her back for the next month. At least she'd be able to be lazy until then.
