Shinobi Salon [Open]
Mon Jul 26, 2021 4:37 am
[OOC: There will be no defined posting order, feel free to react to others, join, leave, etc at will. I will be teaching any non-village/clan exclusives that are on my stat page HERE. Feel free to dictate what you are willing to teach others in your own OOC message at the top of your post if you'd like.]
Keita had been organizing a large get together of his fellow shinobi, organizing a Salon, or a gathering designed for people to come and talk with each other, have a good time, and share ideas and concepts on training and research. It was now the big day, and there were multiple stands set up in the training facility's largest training area, a place that could comfortable house twenty people if they were to be training. A small portion at the front was dedicated to the food and drink carts, as well as a large number of furniture pieces such as benches, tables, and chairs set up so that everyone would have a comfortable place to chat to one another while eating. Next to his small area was a slightly larger place with multiple white boards as well as markers, elemental testing papers, and some generic laboratory equipment on a long counter.
Beyond this learning area was a platform that led to five different areas, each area having a theme dedicated to each of the five elements. These training fields had multiple target dummies, weights, and other training materials neatly arranged along the outskirts. Keita had gotten there an hour early along with the people that he hired to man the food carts and other catering services. They had been setting up everything for the better part of the hour, finishing up when there was around fifteen minutes left to start the Salon, and Keita knew that some of the more eager or punctual people would most likely be there by now. A couple of the workers that were just responsible for setting up the food stands and making sure they had propane or charcoal as well as all of the supplies had left, leaving only the chefs and their assistants, as well as Keita.
The rest was taken care of the state of the art training facility, so all Keita had to do was greet people as they entered, and once it was time to start, he would introduce himself to everyone and the Salon would be underway. Keita was very excited about the prospect of a lot of the younger members of the village mingling with each other and sharing their ideas and jutsu, and hoped that some more veteran members also showed up to impart some wisdom.

[Kikuko will be willing to teach any and all of her techniques and skills during this topic, save for the Butterfly Contract.]
======
There was an unspoken message on the breeze today. A message of change, energy, new times. And with it, a promise. A promise that today, something grand might occur.
She hadn’t been invited to the event- not directly, anyways. It had been more of a coincidence that she had gotten wind of such information, walking out of the mission rewards office and back towards her house for what she had intended to be a lazy day. Still, how could she miss out on such an event? It was rare that she was able to interact with her colleagues outside of a work setting, and this certainly had to count for something. Perhaps even some ninja she knew would be at the venue. Wouldn’t that be something? Despite herself, it put a smile upon her face.
Still, nothing could have prepared her for the sort of event that she had stumbled upon as she walked into the designated training area, an expression of bewilderment upon her face as she drank the scenery in. The setup here left what materials they had at the academy far in the dust- althoug she had to admit, the catering certainly swayed her opinion when it came to comparing the two. She had never considered herself to be a foodie by any persuasion, but it was certainly a kind gesture to keep shinobi rested and fueled for what she presumed was going to be a long and hard day of learning and study.
Oh, but where to begin? There was so much to explore, and only one Kikuko. Well, technically there could be several, if she was to grow impatient and utilize the Shadow Clone Technique, but that defeated the point of choice. No, she would see everything that the event had to offer before making her choice and throwing her all into her efforts.
Waving in an understated fashion at the silver haired figured as she entered (a shinobi? She had never seen them before.), she would grab a cup of water before heading towards the center of the room, eager to meet other shinobi before the day’s events started in earnest.

Word had gotten around that someone of high rank and prestige was going to be doing some sort of large scale training demo/mass teaching/ whatever. Didn't matter. While the idea of getting to meet someone else of importance was enough reason for our dear protagonist to have planned to get up extra early and be sure to be on time for this event, there was a far greater draw. Massive teaching assemblies meant people. LOTS of people. Now if this doesn't scream Saya, I don't know what does, and everyones favorite heroine forwent even considering sleep in preparation for this grand endeavor. My dear listeners, I know that you have been with the show long enough to be fully aware that, while Saya absolutely planned on learning some things, and hopefully teaching a bit as well, This was no mere opportunity for strength. This was a golden gift horse she would not allow to slip away. I will not insult your understanding, my loyal follower base, but I do need to emphasize this part for any new listeners who are less aware of the antics of everyone's favorite protagonist.
She'd arrived at the training facility early. Like. REALLY early. Like, around the time that the set up started. It had taken her upwards of an hour sneak in, find hand holds in the metal that would allow her to scale the inside wall to get to the rafters of the training facility without being seen, realize that she could have just surface walked up there instead, surface walked up the rest of the wall, and find a good position to hide out. She was easily fifty meters above the various groups shifting to and fro, setting up staging, carts, and everything required at Kieta's whim. With this done, it was a simple matter. She just needed to set herself up in the rafters well enough to not fall, Swap out her sneaky ninja outfit for her true clothes, and then lie in wait. Twenty minutes, and four near dangerous slips later, she was fully in place. It. Was. Showtime.
Innocently the Coach puppet walked in. He crossed the distance incredibly quickly, making note of where people were, and walked down to just past the seating. He picked out a spot on the floor, with about three foot clearance on any side, and simply sat down, legs crossed and hands in his lap. It would be odd seeing what was obviously a puppet sit down outside of the area that was clearly intended for seating. What happened next would be even more odd.
Pinochio, would walk in just as he sat down. In his arms was a long bit of rope and a sign post. The second obvious puppet would place a sign post in the front right corner of the area Coach had sat in and then sit down at that corner.
Right as HE sat down, Two girls would walk in. Unlike Pinochio and coach, The freyja and Ai puppets were dificult to distinguish from regular people. With realistic skin and actually shifting facial features and eyes, those without some form of sensory would generally assume them to be regular ninja. Each carried additional signage, Freyja with two and Ai with one. They set the signs up in a square around the seated Coach puppet, strung the rope up to block off the section, and then each simply sat down, legs crossed, hands in their laps, at one of the three unoccupied corners.

Re: Shinobi Salon [Open]

Travin had taken a few days to rest and recover after his adventures in Hoshi getting Kita back. He had allowed the rest to stay for a few days as well if they wanted and had even offered Kita a room while he recovered. After all the Rentei clan had some of the best medics in the village on staff, and while Kita was mostly fine physically mentally he was a little more than shaken up, and who better to help him sort through his stuff than a clan full of genjutsu masters who literally study the human brain for fun. He was going to give Kita the time he needed to recover and so, therefore, had left him alone, after offering the invitation.
The entire Rentei clan had received an invitation to this Shinobi Salon, and several had decided to attend. With it being a formal event to discuss and train others the clan decided not to don their formal wear and kept to their clan armor since fighting was clearly expected. The clan rode up to the training facility in their wagon-drawn carriage capable of holding upwards of 20 people. It was pulled by a team of black stallions and the carriage itself was black with gold trim around the roof and fenders with suicide doors on both sides. The clan would depart their carriage and make their way into the training facility. With the doors opening a wave of shinobi in blue and white armor with capes would flow into the room mixing with the other shinobi.
Travin himself was a little excited to be back in Kiri and get to meet up with some of his old friends. He had been in Hoshi for a good while and was wanting to see just how everyone was doing. Walking around the room he noticed a few people that he didn’t remember seeing but then again it was a big village and it seemed like people were joining and gaining ranks almost every day. He made his way over to the drink table and ordered a drink he didn’t care what it was as long as it was cold. While the server made it Travin looked around and noticed that this was a massive gathering of shinobi, and if there was one person he knew that would take advantage of this it was Saya. He was sure she was already here hiding somewhere waiting to make a big entrance.
Travin took his drink from the waiter and walked over to one of the stands and walked up to the top seat. He didn’t want to sit down but he did want to get a good view of the entire area. His eyes would brighten from their pale blue to a deep blue with a slight glow for a few seconds, as he activated his Seigan. Looking around from his advantage he noticed Keita across the room. Keita was one of the few people in the higher-ups that Travin had yet to meet but he knew that the man had the Mizukage’s ear, and was rumored to be anbu. Travin then scanned the area picking out several other people he had met and a few that he wanted to met due to their dense chakra telling him they were strong. Then he noticed the blue lines of chakra flowing down from the rafters. “There you are” he whispered to himself “What you planning” he added as he took a sip of his drink. Following the lines of chakra down, he noticed the all too familiar puppets and a new one that he hadn’t ever seen before.
He let out a quick chuckle before deactivating his Seigan. “She is planning to put on a show,” he said once more to himself as he walked back down the sets to the floor. He made his way to the center of the room to one of the chakra signatures he had picked out in the crowd. A girl with long black hair and tan skin stood in front of him. “Hello, I’m Travin. I don’t think I’ve seen you around here” his tone would be calm and pleasant as he was using his business voice. It was one that he had been working on for a while to keep people calm while negotiating.

Hiroyuki was really excited, as he had finally gotten his headband that would denote him as an official genin of the village. He had completed the training for the academy a week or so ago, but now that he finally had gotten the headband, it felt more official. As he had become a new genin, he also got the invitation to some sort of get together that one of the jounin of the village was hosting. This get together would be for casual conversation and sharing of ideas. Because his class was a bit of a strange one, he had skipped some of the necessary schooling and went straight to the tests, and he passed, so he was promoted to be a genin alone. He did not really know anyone else, and wanted to go to the salon as the jounin was calling it to network with some people and get to know his fellow villagers. He was hopeful that they would not mess with him too much due to how young and short he was, but even if they did, he could deal with it.
He made sure that his ninja headband was tied securely around his waist, and he was wearing a pale blue martial artist gi and some tai chi shoes of the same color to this get together, because he heard that there was going to be some sparring involved. He was not good enough to spar with anyone else effectively, but he hoped that the others would be able to give him some pointers and that he could learn from the more experienced members of Kiri. He made his way over there, amid the confused stares of some of the bystanders, as they looked down at his genin headband, some of them thinking that it was fake. He was used to these types of things, so he also had his official shinobi ID with him, as this could not be faked like a novelty headband could be… well it could, but it was a lot harder and there was no reason that a little kid would get a professionally forged village ID, since it would be very easy to fact check it.
As he got to the training facility, he noticed a large black carriage with gold trim, really fancy and flashy, and immediately walked up to it and stared in awe. “Oooohhhh, this looks so fancy.” Hiroyuki would say, before looking it up and down some more, admiring the robust looking horses that were pulling the carriage and the quality of it himself. He wondered if there was anyone important there joining in the salon, and this only reinvigorated his desire to join quickly, and so he rushed into the building. It seemed the receptionist did not have the same problem as a few other people had with him, so he did not need to show his ninja ID to get into the large training room that they were all meeting in, so he headed in there after some direction from her. The first thing he noticed when walking in were the strange puppets and other figures sitting there, and there were sign posts near them that he was unsure of as well.
He thought that the two people there might just be a bit eccentric, and so he walked into the room looking around, seeing that there were others that he could talk to. He saw the jounin standing at the front, and so he walked over to the pair who were starting to talk, which were the black haired man that had blue eyes and the tanned woman who seemed to be a bit younger than the man, before introducing himself politely. “H-H-ello, my name is Hiroyuki Yamanaka. It’s nice to meet you.” Hiroyuki would stammer a bit at the beginning as he tried to overcome his shyness when talking to girls. His face would go a bit red upon noticing that he stammered, but he felt better because he then bowed to them, and most of his red face was hidden from view. His ears twitched a bit at his nervousness, as well as his tail swishing back and forth rather erratically.

[I aint got anything people want lmaooooo]
The young Hyuuga walked to the training facility, mist walker armor on, weapon at his side, weapon pouches on his hips He thought on what he might want to practice, zoning out for a bit and not realizing the things around him very much, Hm. Bukijutsu would be a necessity and after the spat with his father... well he didn't feel the urge for much Taijutsu honestly. Getting more access to ninjutsu and maybe suiton would be a useful one but he'd have to ask Kikuko about it. Maybe Makoto too but he didn't know what element it was she practiced. Mastering flying swallow would also be on the list as is making the most out of weaponry in general. He saw most others tending to use Ninjutsu or Fuinjutsu though to maybe there was something to it.
He pondered more. In fact. He pondered so much he walked in and sat down at one of the tables with a drink in his hand without even realizing how many people were there. When he finally looks up from his thinking he realizes to shock and horror... he wasn't alone, somehow missing all the other stallions and clans members and other kiri ninja were here. Only just now snapping out of his funk and seeing he was surrounded
The frankly quite large amount of people sent his stomach into a pit and his mind into a nervous wreck. One that he tries to calm himself down from, seeing a familiar face in the crowd of Kikuko. He had intended to come here to train but maybe meeting some of the other ninja wouldn't be as bad! He centers himself, bringing himself down from his nervousness over it all and coming to his senses. They were just other ninja, nothing to be worried about. Don't worry about appearances too much. Itll be fine.
"Hey! Kikuko so uhh, what is all this? I kind of came in here without thinking to train."

It seemed that people were gradually pouring in, including the people of the Rentei, who he would know that there would be quite the fanfare, especially when a large number of them walked in and started to mingle. Keita also saw the newly appointed genin that seemed too young, but he had seen similar child geniuses before. Everyone got in and every time they did, Keita greeted them with a nice wave and a "Greetings, please help yourself." and would point them to the catering stands, as they were all free.

My, but look at how many people had arrived even after she had introduced herself into the venue. It was getting just a little bit ridiculous, no? Maybe even cramped, if she was being honest. Then again, that might thave been the point. The buzz of the crowd, the noise of the people, and the slowly raising tension in the air. If she didn’t know better, she would say that she had arrived at a festival rather than an official training event. What was it that they were looking forward to?
Eventually, however, she would notice Coach. Nearly passing over him with a casual eye before barely holding in a spit take, taking a hearty gulp of water as she did. What in the Kami’s name was Coach doing here unattended? Actually, no. That was false. There was Pinocchio, and just a short distance away was Freyja and Ai. Sure, they were convincing as ‘normal people’, but she knew their look from a mile away thanks to how much time she spent around their master. And if they were around, that meant that…
Finally looking upwards, she would spy Saya in the rafters. There she was! Truth be told, she was the tiniest bit upset. Not enough to actually act on anything, but really! If she had known that she was going to being pulling some of her usual name brand shenanigans, she would have brought some stuff to cheer with. Perhaps sticks of bamboo for clapping. The usual sense. Ah well, there was no use in crying over split milk. She’d simply have to settle for a way to the Kunoichi now, and catch up with her later.
Having successfully spied her fellow kunoichi, her attention would then be taken by the young man before her. Focusing her attention upon him, she would flash a pleasant smile. “Hello Travin! I’m Kikuko. It’s good to meet you!” While she hadn’t met him in her year and a half of active duty, that was no reason for her to assume that he was inexperienced. There was something about his demeanor, the calm way he surveyed the place, that suggested a certain degree of ‘certainty’. What that came from, however, she wasn’t sure.
This moment, however, would be interrupted by the sudden appearance of perhaps the most adorable child she had even met. By the Kami, look at his cheeks! So soft and delectable, like mochi. She could just pick him up and take him home right there. “Hello Hiroyuki!” She would bend down slightly to meet his eyes as he spoke. I’m not sure if you heard me, but I’m Kikuko. What are you doing around here?”
But it seemed that just as she was about to wait for Hiro’s response, yet another figure had come to greet her. Mitsu? How many people did that make here, three? Gosh, was she becoming popular? This was a sensation she wasn’t completely used to bearing. “Heya Mitsu. Come join the fun! This is Travin and Hiroyuki.”

Eventually, however, she would notice Coach. Nearly passing over him with a casual eye before barely holding in a spit take, taking a hearty gulp of water as she did. Ah. the fates could be a cruel mistress, but with every take there must be a give. Kiku appeared on the scene. So did an actually ridiculous amount of people. Perfect. She began her preparations as she watched her friend finally notice her puppets. Good. She would be exactly where she needed to be. Invisible threads flowed from her fingertips. They wrapped around the metal support beam she'd been resting on, wrapping one time fully before she simply... Let go. She would fall at the standardized one hundred and fifty speed. The wind rushed past her face as she took in the world around her.
Each of the members of team puppet glanced up at the same time. While there wasn't actually a visual, verbal, or auditory signal, this was the signal they'd been waiting for. THe three on the outside of the closed off area stood, checking to make sure no one had entered the closed off square, and the coach puppet..... Opened up into a stage? His rib cage and limbs all opened up, long boards shifting into place as he laid down on the ground, covering the entire area within the square. It would now be clear why the ropes were needed.
It would seem as if the girl had the intention of death, falling at max speed all the way up until she was five meters from the puppet below. Then she would just.... Stop? As she stopped feeding length to the threads, they pulled taunt around her body, holding her suspended in midair. While she couldn't float technically, she could repel. In one fluid motion she released the threads, falling the last three meters and touching down on the stage, and the lights on the front of her puppet shifted on. Two resonant foot falls rung out across the stadium. Following quickly, all three of the puppets clapped. Stomp stomp clap. Stomp stomp clap. Stomp stomp clap. Stomp stomp clap.
"Buddy you're a boy, make a big noise
playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday
you got mud on your face, you big discrace
kicking your can all over the place, singing "
"We will, We will rock you!
We will We will rock you!"
She was dressed so simply that it would almost seem odd. Acid washed blue jeans, a black belt, and a white tank top that clung tightly to her body. She'd chosen a short black wig that gave her a very butch look, and a black armband sat at the center of her upper arm. She'd begun the song, the puppets microphone raising up in time for her to grasp it as she began, and with a jerk she pulled the top portion of the stand clear off the base. She pranced around the stage, stomping to and fro as the percussion of the puppets echoed with her words, and the choruses were sung by three voices in unison, though it would be unclear to most how. Puppets can't sing right? As the song continued, she just pushed harder, dancing and singing until the big finale.
With assurance that anyone who was within ten meters of the stage was pushed back, though there wasn't anyone at current, She would leap up. Long vines poured from her ankles, moving her off towards the front where the teachers were, and fireworks began. No seriously. Fireworks. The stage's mechanism shot off, creating a ten meter dome of brilliant multi colored explosions that would harm no one, but really bring the song home.
"We will we will rock you!
We will we will rock you
we will we will
rock you
We will we will
ROCK YOU!"

Mitsu would wave to the three other ninjas a bit awkwardly. He never really knew too much about the other ninjas and clans in Kiri so he was excited, if a bit nervous, to meet them ateleast. See who they are, what there like, what they can do. Hey hopefully even turn it into a bit of a training exercise in and of itself and see if they might be able to teach him something new. Maybe it could be a collaborative training exercise. Learn some new jutsus or maybe figure out something he could pick up from them all. New people were a pain sometimes b- was that music?
He'd turn to see Saya's lightshow and concert on full display. Astonished by it all and wondering most of all... how the hell did she even get that much in here so quickly?? He hadn't seen anyone odd or any other set up for her and she just had all this here?? He was confused and a bit scared but honestly once she started playing he was happy to go along with it.
He found the whole event energizing and enjoyable. Smiling brightly with wide eyes at her performance. He had no idea what it was she was singing but he happily clapped along to the beat of the music, going along with the ride. Nothing like the stuffy boring noh plays his parents would bring him to.
