Setting Off for a New Life

“This has been fun,” Nobutoshi thought as he glanced back at the bustling construction of the village as he walked towards the gates. He had met new people and while he wouldn’t exactly call them friends, he didn’t want to kill them, which was something. But by doing odd jobs here and there he had amassed enough money that he felt comfortable leaving the village and setting off on his own. He wasn’t sure exactly what he wanted to do but he knew he wanted to spread the will of jashin throughout the world, and to start he would have to leave this village. Unfortunately he found it unlikely that he would be able to achieve this goal in Tanboagkure due to Yasahiro watching him. So when Nobutoshi arrived at the gates he had no clear idea of where to go, but knew if he followed the road it would take him somewhere eventually. He was sure he would be able to find work here and there, legal or otherwise. While he had been on good behavior while in the village, he had no qualms about taking up illegal work. In fact, he would probably prefer it over the mundane jobs that one got while working within the boundaries of the law.
Nobutoshi gave the beautiful village one last look before walking out of the village, provided of course he wasn’t stopped by a gate guard or anything.

Time moved without regard for the whims or wills of humanity. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and months to years at the same steady pace regardless of war or peace. Yet, for Yasahiro Yagami, time seemed to move all the faster; with so many things to do in Tanbogakure it felt as if even the few extra light-filled hours granted by summer were not enough to get it all done. As a result, sleeplessness plagued the samurai depriving him of rest of either mind or body—who would have thought building up a fledgling village could be so much work?

Alas, the work remained to be done, with or without sleep. Today, this meant standing at the gates of the village with dark rings around his eyes, sleep could wait. Fortunately, the day had been altogether uneventful with the only incident of note arising from a confused merchant who'd taken a wrong turn on the road to Konoha. Nobutoshi's departure added little to the day, for surely it must have been a matter of time that he move on his way given his past. Rather than make a big deal about it, the leader of Tanbogakure gave the boy a silent half nod as he left. Perhaps, if time and fate allowed, the two would cross paths again, but today would simply be a farewell.

As Nobutoshi walked through the gates he saw that the gate guard was none other than Yasahiro, the leader of Tanbogakure, who he had met in a bar shortly before Nobutoshi was stabbed in the chest. It was a fun night. Yasahiro looked sleep deprived, unsurprising, considering the amount of work that must be going into this rapid expansion. Whether it was mercy or he was just too tired to do anything else, Yasahiro neglected to mention anything of Nobutoshi’s past or stay in the village, and instead just gave him a nod. In return Nobutoshi raised his hand in farewell, then continued walking.
“Perhaps one day I’ll return here, it wasn’t a bad experience.” But for now, Nobutoshi would continue onwards, wanting to live a life of complete freedom, with Jashin as his only guide. He didn’t know where exactly he was headed, but he knew Jashin would lead him where he needed to go. Maybe he would even find a sacrifice worthy of the great blood god.

“Goodbye Tanbo, perhaps one day I’ll see you completed.”
