---------------------------------------
It was a pretty normal day in Kirigakure, as the mists hung low in the air while the sounds of tropical birds were floating through the mists, unable to be discerned between each other. Keita was currently heading towards the borders, as there was a bounty station on the borders for people to process the bodies of the missing ninja and other terrible people that the ninjas on the outskirts grabbed for their bounties. The money flowing through that location was quite a bit, so it shocked Keita to learn that the men that were there had stolen some of the bodies, leaving the money alone. This meant that the bodies were more important for those people, and thus it was safe to conclude that those people were ninja who were interested in the bodies, maybe they had some sort of bloodline abilities that the bounty station had initially missed. It was pretty easy to miss something like that, as there was always something that could not be discerned with the initial look around the body and the autopsy. There could always be a spare kidney or something that had integrated with their body, making it really difficult to have any concrete evidence of the organ being foreign, unless the person that the body belonged to used some abilities that they should not have, then the investigative team in charge of the autopsy would know what they were looking for. Regardless of what had caused them to steal these fairly high profile bodies, Keita needed to head there and see what went wrong with the fuuinjutsu seals placed around the building that should have prevented something like this.

Keita would also need to teach them that fuuinjuitsu was not completely inviolable, and could easily be countered with certain means, and that other forms of security were necessary. Keita had seen too many people simply relying on the fuuinjutsu that they had placed, thinking that they did not need to do anything else for the security, and that the fuuinjutsu would be completely without any flaws. Keita sighed and shook his head as he looked out of the window of the carriage that he was riding on to get to the destination. The carriage went past some of the rocky cliff faces of the village, before heading down a long pass. The pass was in between the cliffs that made up the islands, and there was a fairly small grassy clearing after they had gotten down the path that came from the cliffs. In the center of this small clearing, there was a warehouse type building that sat there alone, with only the trail that Keita had just come from leading to it, facing the south side. This building was really isolated from the rest of the village, and it seemed like there was no way for the building to actually do anything normally with the restrictive conditions one had to endure to get anything here, but thankfully most of the people who worked here were ninja. They could easily make any disadvantages from the terrain to be completely ignored due to the wonderful thing that was the surface walking technique.

As Keita made his way to the building, he was met with a couple of ninja that told him to halt and that they were going to check his identification and have him go through some additional tests. Keita stepped out and showed his id as well as his Anbu mask that he kept in his robes, and that stopped the questioning, although Keita insisted that they continue the investigation, just in case. Anyone could have simply transformed into him and then they would simply give the enemy all sorts of information, and the enemy could even ask for the higher profile bodies. After the check, which included a strip of chakra sensing paper so that he would have the same chakra signature as the one that his id said he had. That was all that they could do right now in particular, as they did not have any sensory ninjas there at the moment, but there seemed to be nothing wrong with Keita’s identity, so there was nothing else to do but to bring him into the building so that he could start looking through the area and find out what went wrong with the fuuinjutsu seals that were around the area. As Keita walked into the building, he noted that the building was a bit more of a manor than an actual outpost where one would be processing and tagging the dead bodies of criminals. This was a strange place, because Keita assumed that it was going to be more of a morgue type building, with doctors and such in different outfits, and lots of people bustling about checking the bodies of people and performing medical procedures to tell what sort of bloodlines they had, if any, how they died, etc.

He was a bit taken aback at the appearance of the place, as the first thing when he walked into the large building was a set of stairs that looped up to the second floor of the building, and the stairs had a fairly fancy carpet on them and some sort of trimmed hand rails that were flanking them. There were two hallways that Keita could see from where he was, as well as a room that was under the stairs, so he started his investigation into the fuuinjutsu seals. They told him that the fuuinjutsu seals were around the area that was then hidden in the trim surrounding the walls near the base of the floor, and so Keita started to look at them. He immediately started to look at the base plate of the walls, looking where the walls met the floor, and making sure that he could see the fuuinjutsu seals. He could see that they were fairly well hidden throughout the walls near the floor, added to the decor of the raised stucco that was there. It was a pretty good way to hide it, but any structural damage would disrupt the entire fuuinjutsu defense in the area, and so after a few minutes of looking at the seals, which were a simple protection and detection formation, he asked the owner of the place where the actual breach happened, and he was told that the breach happened near the kitchen of the manor, which had been converted to the morgue area. He wondered why the autopsy area and where they held the bodies should be somewhere near the basement. They said that the basement was the first area people would look, but it was also the safest. There was no reason not to have them in the safest location, as this place was isolated enough to where only people who knew about the contents of the building would show up and try to take the bodies, and if they did so, they probably just got lucky when they blew up part of the building and noticed that the bodies were just out there in the open for people to come and see them. Keita sighed, and said that he would reinforce this building with his own seals afterwards, and there was a thorough understanding from the person, knowing that Keita was a master fuuinjutsu user and was also an Uzumaki, a clan that was extremely famous for their seal usage, and so there was nothing else that he could say about that.

Keita then walked into the kitchen, and saw that it was relatively intact, but upon further inspection, there seemed to be a hole large enough for a mouse to fit through, as well as a small fissure running through the stucco that made up the actual seals, and so this area was disturbed. Anyone with some sort of infiltration skills could have gotten in here, and it would have been even easier for someone with some sort of space time abilities. This would be pretty easy to fix, however, as the fuuinjutsu seals also had a part of the interdiction seal formula in them, which would prevent teleportation inside and outside of the building. This simply needed a fix in the placement of the fuuinjutsu seals that were placed around the area threaded through the walls of the area. There was no reason to have them attached to the walls, and so Keita simply ordered the wall to be fixed where it was broken, and any rats taken care of meticulously, as there was no reason that there should be a hole in the wall of such a secure building. After this, he ordered them to adopt some cats for the manor, which would have the wonderful benefit of having no mouse problems at all in the future. Plus, this place was very dreary and this caused the people to be less alert over time, and so having pets and animals to take care of would have made them a bit more alert, even a little bit, as there was always something to do in the area that they should pay attention to. After that, he also wanted to make sure that all the cats that they adopted would have some sort of mark seal placed on them that could identify them, just in case someone tried to be a bit cheeky and sneak in here as a cat using the transformation technique, which would be absolutely terrible.

As Keita walked through the rest of the building, he noticed that it was rather large, and suggested that there be a reduction to the building, as there was no need for a simple corpse processing center to be so large and luxurious. It should definitely be a small and compact area that was tuned for efficiency, but Keita knew that there was some need to have the workers here have a nice environment, so he simply suggested a reduction in the building instead of demolishing it and remodeling it to somewhere that was small and efficient, like a prison. They could still have a wonderful cview and work in an environment that would not make them hate their jobs. Keita then walked out of the kitchen, leaving the various people to do their jobs, some of them were writing down the ideas that Keita had, while some of them said they were heading to the storage area for the maintenance closet so that they could start plugging the mouse hole, and the other ones that might be in the house. So as the people started moving, Keita started heading through the house, carefully scrutinizing the stucco around the area, making sure that the other spots were not quite as damaged, and they were not. It seemed that the only area that had been compromised was the kitchen, and the bandits were simply lucky in grabbing the bodies when they attacked the building at night. They also must have had some sort of space time user, or perhaps it was a Hiroyuki or someone that could turn their body into that of the elemental affinity, as Keita had heard of some users who could manipulate and turn into smoke. He was leaning more towards a space time user, as it would be really difficult for others to get in and get the bodies out in such a short time when there were guards stationed unless they had some way of teleporting.

Still, Keita wanted to defend against any eventuality, and so he was thinking of how to optimize the seals placed around the area, and soon he found a way to do so. He was feeling like he could simply change where the main seals were placed, as well as slightly change the function so that it could stop people from getting in the building through less conditional means. Keita wanted to rewrite the seals so that they would function better, but he knew that he would have to send a message to the anbu headquarters to inform them about the matter and get permission. Luckily this did not need to go through the Kage directly, so he could simply ask for himself, but it would still take a few minutes. Keita walked outside and started whistling, a special whistle that allowed him to call over a carrier bird, which landed on his shoulder. The bird has a small tube attached to its leg that could hold a small scroll, and so Keita grabbed his notepad and started to write down his request to change the seals around the area to better protect the building or future events, and sent the bird away after rolling the paper up and stuffing it onto the birds foot in the little tube. He watched the bird flutter away towards the east, where the anbu building was located, and soon there would be news from them, so he would hang out outside for when he was greeted by the bird that was going to come back to him with a yes or no confirmation scroll.

Keita decided to look around the outside of the area where the people broke in, thinking that maybe he could see some sort of signs on how exactly they broke the seal with the help of the wall, so that he would have a better understanding of how to prevent something like that from happening in the future. He walked around the building to the kitchen side of it before looking around the area. There was a small amount of debris around it, mostly dust and some chips of paint from when the building was hit with something. Keita looked around, and it seemed whatever had hit the building had hit the floor outside of the building right next to it directly, instead of them hitting the building itself. This meant that it was more than likely some sort of earth technique, and that they would need to find a way to fortify the area around the structure as well. There was a fuuinjutsu technique that could help, which was the fuuinjutsu lock technique, but Keita did not know that currently, as he had never felt the need to learn it, and there were plenty of other people in the village that knew it so he felt like he could just contact those people to do it for him, which might be a good idea, but he would need the permission from the Anbu administration first, and so he could only wait on that. He did, however, write all of his ideas down in his notepad so that he could implement them later without having to think too much about it.

He concluded from looking at the surrounding earth that it was some sort of shockwave or earthquake like technique that made the bit of the wall crumble on the inside, but this did not explain how they were so lucky to actually hit one of the important formation flag seals in the sealing formula, and this spot was exactly the kitchen are that held the bodies. A coincidence was one thing, but a large group of coincidences was a conspiracy, and this smelled of one. There were two possible causes for how the bodies were stolen, and one of them was a bit more insidious than the other. The first one that Keita thought of was that there was some sort of Hyuuga with a byakugan, allowing them to see the inner workings of the building, where the bodies were, and where the fuuinjutsu was most vulnerable. As he was walking around, he heard some sort of movement coming from the front of the house, so he decided to start heading over there, as it seemed that someone else had come to the house.

Sealsmith: Failsafe [I/O] Empty Re: Sealsmith: Failsafe [I/O]

Thu Sep 02, 2021 5:44 pm
Sitting in his office, Kizmaru had gotten word of some disturbing event that was going on around his village. Looking at a written report in front of him, he had been informed of a bounty station being raided and several bodies being stolen from it. Kizmaru found it strange that of all the things people would want to steal nowadays, it would be bodies. At the same time, there were ways to draw power and information even from corpses, albeit rare. He shouldn't rule out the possibility of potentially looking over things. In the report, it said that Keita had gone out to investigate but it turns out more than one station was the target of this attack. The main objective of this mission is to go to one of the bounty stations, check out how the thieves have gotten in, rebuild a defense matrix with the use of Fuinjutsu and then report back. This was something he could do himself personally but it would have been odd the Mizukage themselves would go out and handle a matter most people would consider beneath. Personally, nothing involving Kirigakure overall was considered 'beneath him'. So instead, he'd just sign himself up to go and investigate as his Jounin person, which consisted of him using his birth name really.

With his decision confirmed, he rang up his receptionist and told them not to put out a notice on the mission board but to say it was already being handled by one of the Jounin of the village. The receptionist had simply compiled before the Mizukage had hung up. He'd then get up and head to the common room through a door in his office. He was currently wearing his Mizukage Robes and hat so instead he'd just shed it and hang it up. He'd then form a single hand sign of Dog. He'd then transform into himself except wearing a Jounin Flak jacket and a mouth mask. Giving himself a little nod, he'd turn around and exit the common room before exiting his office as a whole. Walking through the corridor of the estate, he made it to the stairwell, traversing down it and making it to the main lobby. He saw his receptionist who obviously recognized who he was, giving them a nod and then returning it in kind. After that, he exited the lobby. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen Ram all day and wondered where he got off too. Well, maybe he'll turn up later on today.

Traveling to the gates of Kirigakure, he had to fish out his Jounin identification card and the mission missive in order to gain passage through the gates and go to the borders where the bounty station had been raided. It was located on one of the smaller islands of Kirigakure so he had to get there by boat. Walking to the harbor, he'd have to seek transport for shinobi like himself and eventually, he found somebody willing to take him to one of the islands. He was a crackpot of an elderly man and he had a small boat and with it, offered to take Kizmaru where he needed to go. Kizmaru offered to pay compensation to the man for his services up front now and a bigger bonus when they get back if he waited for him. The old man seemed to have pondered on it for a while before agreeing to his terms. He seemed greedy enough in order to accept the proposition despite there being obvious dangers in and out of the waters. No matter, the old man had ushered Kizmaru into the boat and got ready to take off. Shortly after, they had taken off into the open seas of Kirigakure.

Luckily for them, they only had to avoid some smaller whirlpools as they didn't need to go too far like the borders or anything of the sort. Just far enough so they could go to the minor islands of Kirigakure that were scattered around the mainland. The trip took a few hours since the boat was rather small and slow but it got the job down in the end. Eventually, they had landed on one of the smaller islands where the bounty station was apparently located. Thanking the man, Kizmaru had paid him a rather large sum of ryo and instructed him to wait here for his return while he goes and checks up on the situation at hand regarding the bounty station. Taking a little walk through the scenery through some tightly packed trees and greenery, Shichiro eventually came across a badly damaged structure that was located somewhere in the center of the island. There were other buildings nearby which resembled residential homes but he had no business with them at the moment. Heading to his destination, even from a distance, he could tell there were clear signs of a break in. Letting out an aggravated sigh, he wondered why he even had shinobi guarding these places at the time as well as the personnel and facility.

He then quickly reminded himself he was here as a Jounin and not as the Mizukage of the village hidden in the mist. Looking around the perimeter, he wondered where he should begin in this fantastic mess of a mission. He noticed there was a large hole in the wall where the invisible fuinjutsu seal was supposed to be. There was some rubble scattered across the area and a few bodies were under it. He was unsure if they were still a part of the living or not but what he did know was some of the bodies were not Kiri shinobi. Some seem to be the raiders of this place while the others were wearing the recognizable cameo of his shinobi. Now all he had to do was figure out where to start. After pondering on it for a few minutes, he figured he should look for any shinobi or the personnel that was supposed to maintain this place, that was still breathing anyway. Walking over to the entrance of the buildings, he opened the door, stepping inside in order to assess the situation. Looking inside, the scene inside was just about the same as the scene outside in which there was nothing but rubble and bodies which he couldn't tell if they were breathing or not.

This time however, he figured he would try and see if any of them were breathing since he needed answers. Walking over to each individual body, friend or foe, he tried to shake them awake before checking for a pulse. Most of his efforts were in vain until he came across the opposition that seems to have been a part of the raid. He was clearly breathing but he was injured and left behind to his fate. “Hey, still breathing, I see. So tell me, what did you and your group come here for and how did you get in,” inquired Kizmaru, squatting down next to the gravely injured man. It seems he had suffered from an injury prior and when the holes were blown in the walls, some of the ceiling caved in and rendered the lower half of his body useless. Well, Kizmaru could remedy that by killing the bandit now or leaving him to suffer slowly and painfully by other means. Either way, the kind of punishment dealt would be completely up to the raider’s willingness to comply or not. The man simply grunted at him, turning his head away from Kizmaru as if clinging to some sort of idiotic loyalty to his peers. Well, no matter. If he wasn’t willing to talk, he wouldn’t bother to ask him again.

Weaving the hand signs of Dragon, Horse, Snake, Tiger and Ox, Kizmaru then turned to the upper body parts he could see and spit three small droplets of lava onto his body in non-vital areas of the torso. This made the man scream in agony as the lava began searing through his flesh and slowly making its way through his innards. With that, Kizmaru had stood up and continued to walk down the hall all while listening to the bandit scream and begin to plead for quicker death. Continuing on his route down the hallway, he eventually made it to a corridor that split off into two paths. He wasn’t about to sit here and think too hard about which way he should take and immediately made a right without thinking about it. Walking down this specific hallway, it didn’t feel too bad as the entrance and the exit but there was nothing inside. Eventually he came across a locked door to where he couldn’t access it through normal means. It was an electronic lock and it required certain clearance of a high ranking personnel or the Mizukage. That was just his luck that he would forget the credentials back in the office just for the sake of blending into his military force.

Letting out an aggravated sigh, he figured he’d just try to blow down the door in order to get inside even though it looks mostly unscatched. He didn’t really need to use any of his techniques for this so he just pulled his right hand back, throwing it while making a fist at the door. It was strong enough to break the door open with his considerable amount of strength. After he had done so however, he had heard a few hushed cries and such which caused him to be a bit cautious as he entered the room. He had to walk down a small corridor and turn around a tiny bend. There were definitely a few chakra signatures nearby, one of them around the bend as if they were waiting for him to come in. Readying his black leather gloves, which were actually his disguised Petrification gauntlets, he’d slowly approach the bend in order to fend off whoever was getting ready to attack him. His chakra sensory combined with his Gauntlet’s ability to sense vibrations created by movement and weight shifting, he would easily evade the next incoming attack from the stranger. The person had begun to swing their kunai at the neck of Kizmaru.

Unfortunately for the assailant, Kizmaru was already prepared to defend himself, placing his right leather glove in the trajectory of the swing. Gripping the kunai, he’d wrench it from his assailant’s hand, and use his other hand to shove his palm into the person’s torso. Pushing them back, Kizmaru looked at the kunai dropping it as he didn’t really need to keep his eyes on his opponent in order to defend himself. However, he did notice his opponent stop attacking him after a few seconds, causing him to look at them. It turns out his assailant was a female Kirgakure shinobi and had been hiding in here with three of the staff members designated to this facility. Well, that explained why the assault had stopped. Standing up, the chuunin dusted themselves off, demanding to know who he was and where he came from. Kizmaru had scoffed at these questions as he was the one that wanted to know what was going on. Ignoring her questions, Kizmaru went to state his “rank” and position telling her she was sent here on the Mizukage’s orders in order to figure out what the hell is going on around these parts and how something like this could happen.

The chuunin was a bit skeptical but after a few moments had passed, explained how the situation had happened. They were carrying on with normal operations when their defenses went down abruptly for a few minutes. When they sent the local fuinjutsu shinobi in order to see what was wrong with it, he was ambushed and killed by raiders. When he was killed, the defenses had shut down permanently and they were invaded by a small militia of raiders. Kizmaru had sighed in between the explanation at the fact there’s been so many raiders around the island country despite there being a storm barrier that should be keeping these idiots out. The chuunin was a bit annoyed at that and Kizmaru instructed her to carry on anyway. There was a big fight and most of the personnel and the guard shinobi had been killed. At the same time, most of the invading force had been wiped out and a few of them had gotten away with some important corpses used for research. This chunin was tasked with guiding the personnel and keeping them safe somewhere until reinforcements arrived or if they successfully fended off the invaders. Walking through the scene before him, he could tell neither of those quite happened but he wouldn’t press any further.

Kizmaru instructed them to check to see if they’re were any more survivors and to get them out of here while he repaired the defense system, making improvements along the way. The chuunin nodded before instructing what’s left of the personnel to follow her lead and listen to her commands. Kizmaru had informed her of the way he came in and told her it was safe to exit that way but to be wary just in case enemies were still lurking around. Giving a nod and a scoff, she had left with the staff members of the board. Kizmaru then went to the room that housed a majority of the seals, begging to rewrite the complex formula of the entire structure and facilities in them. It took a few hours before he was done but overall he had managed to find out how they broke through, what they had stolen and where they were heading with a number of clairvoyance, chakra sensing, marking and tracking seals. Kizmaru would deploy a team of Hunter-Nin to recover those bodies later but for now, his main concern is to finish up fixing the problems here and waiting for said reinforcements before being able to go on any further.

At some point during the repairs, reinforcements of a few squads of chuunin with Jounin being the head had appeared in order to ask what had happened here. Kizmaru was a bit annoyed because it wasn’t like this was a squad that was coming from the main lands but from one of the smaller, military bases from a nearby island so they should have been here while the skirmish was taking place long before he arrived. He’d have a word with them later when he was back in Mizukage robes but for now, he’d recant the story the chuunin had given him as if he was there and had asked them to help clean up this place, search the perimeter for anymore survivors or enemies. He couldn’t directly order them like he did the chuunin since he was masking as the same rank so all he could do was tell them what needed to be done and hope they help out. If they don’t, well that’s just another discussion waiting to happen. Fortunately, they complied. After all was said and done, Kizmaru had relayed the information he found to them and told them where the stolen bodies were currently located.Regardless if they went or not, Kizmaru had already planned to send out hunters to either secure them, themselves or see if they squads had down it. After that, Kizmaru decided his work was done and decided it was time for him to head back to the mainland.

Keita had suddenly received word from one of the messenger birds that he had permission to start editing the seals around the building, and so he did. He finished up the seals, and wanted to test them, so he temporarily removed the protection the seals gave to another person, and soon he was shunted out of the building, as well as the exact location of where he was touching the seal given to a member inside and pinged to a member in the communication squad, but he would explain all of that later. For now, he simply left, knowing that he did a good job.
