Take Up Arms [Ishikawa]
Wed Sep 08, 2021 2:06 pm
Pale pink marble paved the gardens and courtyard of the training facility of Hoshigakure that was the Water Gardens. The sun's reflection was on the pools and fountains of the Gardens, shaded by bloody red-orange trees. The grounds had a pleasant draw: warm days, cold nights, the salt breeze blowing in from the Shivering Sea in the north, and fountains and pools to admire and for kids to play in during the day.
Today they were crowded by shinobi forces, testing their skills. One could see Chuunin tough as steel, cocky Genin, and bold young Genin, sometimes even grizzled Jounin.
But two individuals stood out in particular. One was a blonde-haired young adult in the finest grey armor money could buy. On his hip, a sword with a golden hilt shaped after a lion's head and two ruby eyes. The second was a ragged older adult with a prominent mustache and a crooked back.
"Here we are, friend." Toneri's voice took flight as his movements came to a sudden halt. The two had agreed on training and potentially a sparring session here. Nothing too dramatic, just something that would give Toneri a good taste of the man's abilities who stood 5 meters across him and to slightly to his right. "Take your time to prepare and let me once you are ready."

The Silver Haired Fang followed his new acquaintance from the delightful dining spot to the marbled training grounds. Ishi took in the sights and sounds of the village as they traveled through it, he made note of places to come and visit or potential places to live. However, right now it was more important to focus on the man in front of him and giving a good show, after all, he probably was not high on the list for acceptance into the academy at his age, or his apparent age.
Once the unlikely pair arrived at the training grounds The Silver Fang took in the sights around him, it had been several decades since he was in such a situation. The training grounds brought back the memories of the training yards of Miyamoto, a province in the land of Iron. Ishi took in a deep breath as he allowed the impacts of fists & other appendages and the clashes of various weapons. The aged Tau dropped off his traveling pack and his newly acquired bag full of food and drink, a sausage still in his hand which he finally gulped down.
Ishi's pack had attached to it a giant weapon, taller than either man here, but he had no intention of using it currently. The weapon was new and he had not got a handle on it yet. "So you appear to be a weaponry user, like myself. Why don't you show me some of those shinobi weapon arts young man?" The silver fang said in a polite but inquisitive tone, he was excited to learn more ways of the shinobi from someone who actually knew what they were doing, instead of out of books like he had done up to this point.

Toneri watched the older warrior as he unpacked; he certainly had a far more significant inventory than most shinobi in this day and age. However, that was true for most weaponry users, who held their arsenal in physical form instead of bolts of lightning or laser beams of doom coming out from their system. Toneri had his stash sealed into his storage displacement and some in his ninja tool bands. However, the sword on his hip was what he needed. Brightroar. Made of the finest steel and augmented with the best materials money could buy.
"I thought you'd never ask, old boy." He said in response to the old fox's request for a showcase, and the Chuunin placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. With a swift move, the bare steel was out, cutting through the air. The blade looked as if it was drinking the light of the sun. "Samurai or Knight, a weaponry user must always be fast on the draw of the sword." The Golden Hyuuga said. "And if an enemy charges while at it, don't let it break your momentum. On the contrary, you might disembowel them with that draw and finish the battle a moment sooner." Toneri stated with confidence in his voice.
"The name of this technique is QuickDraw. How about you give it a try. If you don't have a blade, I could lend you a spare one."
