Don't Look a Gift Corpse in the Mouth [Dana]

Murata looks over the village from the rooftop garden of the hospital, fighting nerves. Her hand in her pocket, she runs her thumb along the corner of the crinkled letter she's memorized at this point.

Six-ringed eye information: further evolved Sharingan. Met a man along with six women possessing the eye you described.

Murata sighs. She's found an excuse to bring Kita on a mission with her on the near future, so she'll have time to check up on him, ask him if he's heard of this mysterious man, and take a look at that Cursed Mark of his. Her predecessor will be unavailable for the foreseeable future, but that Hoshigakure ANBU, Akabayashi...

What has Kizmaru been up to on his personal quest for power? What does he know about the six-ringed eye? The idea of shinobi possessing the miracle of the Sage fills her with a profound sense of unease, like it is simply wrong. Stories said it'd resurfaced in the so-called time of heroes, but that always sounded like such nonsense. It would be the ultimate desecration, a final humiliation to the Sage's legacy by the foolhardy warmongers who have so thoroughly trampled on it already.

It's probably nonsense.

"What business do I have thinking myself any different, anyway," she sighs. Here she is, the political leader of one of the mysterious shinobi city-states, and she's processing her distaste for what those damned ninja have done. Here she is, about to partake in the same strange cannibalism she has so judged on the vague pretense that it's what is expected of her by her predecessor. 

Downstairs, the body of the dreaded scarlet-eyed pirate captain Zack Carrow has been unsealed, his kidney and eyes prepared for transplantation alongside the kidney given to her directly by Kizmaru. The hospital staff have reached out to one of Kiri's few medical ninja to have on hand for the delicate process.

"Lady Mizukage, they're ready for you now," a nurse calls from the stairs.

"Thank you, Hana." Murata stands from her little garden retreat and heads down to get ready.

To say Dana was pleased to finally be doing something useful around the village was a slight understatement. She'd received a letter from the village's hospital not long ago, informing her that her expertise as a medical kunoichi was required. At first, she'd been mere seconds from jumping straight out of her window to the hospital to do whatever they needed of her. Then she'd looked down at her current state of attire - a raggedy cloak and a pair of ripped trousers - and thought better of it. A quick search through her dreadful wardrobe didn't deliver anything more fruitful so Dana was stuck in a bit of a predicament. She couldn't exactly allow herself to be poorly dressed on her first excursion out into the more important parts of the ninja lifestyle!

Ughh, she inwardly groaned, trudging through her door instead of excitedly jumping through the window as she'd originally intended as the realization hit her; Dana was going to have to go shopping for some clothes instead.

Despite some initial apprehension, Dana quickly found her stride whilst shopping for clothes on the way to the hospital. She bought a nice clean button-down shirt, some office slacks, and finally a pristine white lab coat to compliment the professional vibe she was going for. Just outside the hospital entrance, she found a small novelty shop where she managed to buy a pair of fake glasses and a rainbow pen; both of which she plopped in her front pocket. Finally, she ran her fingers through her long tangled hair to try and tame it just as she stepped through the threshold of the hospital.

Once inside, the young Senju was quickly and efficiently guided through the maze-like halls by the hospital staff. They took her downstairs and then opened a door to reveal to Dana a fairly standard-looking operating room. After a quick scan, Dana's green eyes settled on several containers that all looked to have different organs in them. She tilted her head in confusion for a second before her face lit up with realization: someone wanted her to perform one of those transplants that Dana had read so much about! Ooh, maybe they'd also want one of Dana's organs? Saya had said they had very valuable organs, and Dana was a true businesswoman at heart...

As Dana's brain was a whir of activity, her body was acting on autopilot to ensure everything was prepped. As the Mizukage walked in, she would see Dana pottering around the operating theatre checking to make sure she had all the tools she needed prepared.

Murata enters the operating room without much fuss, the only indicator of her position being the quiet ANBU Dreamer shadowing her - otherwise, she quite resembles any other patient. A small surgical team is present to assist Dana, and they quickly set to the task of convincing her to get that unruly mane of hers under a hair net.

"Be nice to her, I'm the one who's going to be having problems if she's upset," Murata jokes from the surgical bed. Soon enough she is sedated and ready for the selected transplants prepared for Dana - two eyes from Zack Carrow, a kidney from Zack Carrow, and a kidney from Kizmaru Senju. Originally, Zack's liver had been chosen, but apparently it had suffered quite a lot of rum-related damage. The surgical team will be able to make the appropriate incisions with the hospital's equipment, and Dana will be needed specifically to perform the delicate implantations that require medical ninjutsu.

Because Dana was trying to remain professional, she didn't raise too much of a fuss as the various hospital staff tried to put Dana's hair into a net. Not that she let them... Touch her hair, at least. Every time a hand drew near it was chased away with a quick, light slap. All the while, Dana's face seemed to remain completely impassive. As if she wasn't slapping away several hands a minute. Like, really, who did they think they were; trying to touch Dana's hair? Only she and her friends were allowed the privilege. To spite them, Dana activated the Great Grasping Vines Jutsu on the back of her neck, growing a flower there which then, in turn, grew a vine to act as a makeshift hair tie. With her hair in a ponytail, the young Senju rolled up her labcoat sleaves and pulled the surgical gloves on.

It seemed that Dana's mysterious patient was not the kind of woman to engage in small talk, as she quickly got onto the operating table without much preamble and settled into a sedated sleep. That was fine. Dana wasn't very good at small talk either. She wished she'd had time to find out who exactly this woman was, and what she was implanting into herself. Dana knew that certain organs afforded the transplantee unique powers and skills, but the specifics of what exactly these powers and skills were eluded her. What did those eyes even do? Hopefully, the woman would entertain some of Dana's questions after the surgery.

Dana settled into doctor mode surprisingly quickly, much to the surprise of the hospital staff who had been beginning to worry that they'd contacted the wrong person. What would have been an incredibly difficult procedure that probably would have lasted hours or even a day - transplanting an entirely new eyeball into someone wasn't easy work - was done in about 30 minutes. And it was all thanks to the new Medical technique Dana had recently decided to learn: Mystical Palm. The hospital staff watched with awe as Dana simply performed a few handseals and held a glowing palm up to the woman's eye sockets to smoothly introduce the new eyes to the woman's body. They all desperately wanted to inquire about how it worked, but didn't dare break Dana's trance-like state as she worked.

The kidney transplants were even easier to perform, unsurprisingly. So much so that Dana was left feeling a little disappointed that nothing had gone wrong. She didn't want the patient to be harmed, obviously, but, still, was it selfish to want a little bit more excitement in her life? Hidden underneath her surgical mask, Dana's mouth quirked up into a mischievous smile.

It wasn't anything bad, persay, but Dana was having to fight herself from laughing as the surgery finalized. You see, whilst Dana was using Mystical Palm to ensure the woman's new kidneys were properly accepted by her body, Dana may have... Flipped one of the woman's kidneys the wrong way round. Was it dangerous? Probably not. After all, Mystical Palm seemed to be mystical enough to ignore stuff like a kidney facing the wrong way. It had just healed around Dana's teeny tiny adjustment, not healed over it.

With everything finally done, the hospital staff breathed a sigh of relief as they bustled around to secure the woman's previous organs in special jars that kept them fresh. Dana washed herself up and sat down beside the woman whose name she still didn't know. Dana wished to ask the woman some questions, but that wasn't exactly something she could do whilst the woman was sedated.

Murata returns to full consciousness fairly briskly - due to the efficiency of medical techniques she didn't need to be knocked out too hard. Though she's still a little loopy, and has her new set of eyes covered up by bandages, she recognizes the chakra signature next to her on the bed.

"Everything go well?" Murata asks Dana, sitting up just a little bit.

"Yeah, mhm. It went great. Easiest surgery in my life." Dana said with a small nod as a hint of pride crept into her voice. Dana, of course, left out the fact that this was the only surgery she'd ever done. What this woman didn't know wouldn't cause her any unnecessary stress; that being, that Dana really wasn't qualified to be doing surgery on such an important-looking woman. Hopefully, she'd never be looked at by someone with one of Mitsu's see-through eye things. The Senju felt she'd come to regret her little prank in the future, but for now, it'd be a constant source of small amusement whenever she thought back to this day.

Now, for the questions. Dana was curious about the eyes she had transplanted; what were they? Dana knew about another pair of special eyes from her meeting with Mitsu, but these new ones were interesting to the Senju. They didn't seem to have the weird white featureless features that Mitsu's had had, so what were they? Would they be useful to Dana?

"What are they?" She asked curiously, gesturing with a vague shake of her hand towards the woman's... Covered... Eyes... Dana apparently lacked situational awareness so she quickly went to correct herself, "The eyes, I mean,"

"Oh yeah, I don't mean to be rude but, who are ye?"

Murata follows Dana's line of reasoning perfectly, likely cluing the Senju in that she doesn't need her eyes all that much to tell what's going on around her.

"Sharingan," Murata answers easily, reaching to itch where the bandages meet her hairline. "A pirate's, I've been told. The Second recovered them a short while ago and left them as a sort of... aha, a going-away present?" she laughs, morbidly amused.

"I'm Sugi Murata. I refereed your match!" Murata says, quickly perking up from the sedation and standing up a little straighter, feeling over her abdomen to gently prod the tender spot where healing hands have knitted up the incision. Her tone is much more pleased to see a familiar face than it is chiding for Dana not recognizing her. 

"Lady Mizukage, please lie down," one of the nurses fusses, stepping back towards the bed as soon as he spots Murata sitting up. She complies with a lighthearted noise of irritation. "At least for an hour," the nurse adds, giving Dana a meaningful look as he heads out with the clipboard, seeming to expect the Senju to take responsibility for the task of getting their boss to sit still. 

Murata lazily props her hands behind her head. "Who're you, then, Dana? Tell me about yourself."
