What a Terrible Disguise (Closed: Meika|Ichi|Ryu)

Mission Details:

The spooky night was biting with a bitter cold within the air. The crickets and frogs for some reason, ceased to sing. Leaving the night to be uncomfortably quiet. Only the hoot of a lonely owl can be heard every once in a while. Meaning that the intruders that hide within the bush, had to be even more careful at not making a sound. Which wasn’t an issue for dedicated shinobi to do. The dark sky was absent with stars, but held an enormous yellow moon that shone down upon a creepy building.

They were just far enough from the building of interest, to be able to whisper safely amongst one another, to plan for their next move. One of the shinobi was a young ranking kunoichi, who decided to join the fun, after waking up within the unknown world. The nightmares have been becoming a common occurrence, and she was starting to learn to just go with the flow of things.

She woke up wearing a fitted black outfit, with a hood that shadowed her pale face underneath. Her ghostly eyes dazed upon the others that accompanied her within the bushes, before returning to watch the strange building. It definitely creeped her out, and even the guards looked weird to her. Sure enough. . . people dressed up in quirky uniforms would approach the building, and gain entrance inside. Her curious self was bubbling with excitement, the woman wanted to know what was going on within the haunted looking ceremony.

Still finding himself in a place unknown Ichigo realized the nightmare was far from over. "When I get home I'm pouring myself a drink" the Drunk spoke under his breath for only him to hear. The town, or whatever it was supposed to resemble, appeared desolate. In his immediate surroundings the man only noticed a single building, mysterious similar to the entire situation he ended up in. With the moon and darkness looming over the village it had everything a horror movie would have. "Great. For once I'm the main character and it's in some weird setting like this". Displeased with what was going on Ichigo decided to keep an eye on what took place in and outside of the mysteriously looking building.

While doing so, the Deputy noticed a familiar face standing close to him. "What are you doing here?" he asked the individual. "Causing trouble again?". It seemed wherever he went, Meika followed. As if for some reason the two of them were drawn to each other. Assuming the kunoichi had given him an answer by then, the Drunk kept watch over the building, making note of two guards standing there and both wearing a certain symbol on their outfit. Every once in a while people would appear and walk to the door before being let in after an identification check. "Cultists?". Something was telling the Deputy that in order to escape this nightmare he had to find out what was going on inside that building and hopefully by doing so they would be able to get out.

The former once shadow of the Raikage suddenly became conscious of his surroundings, he lay spread-eagled on the ground. Ryuzaki wearily pushed himself to his feet rubbing at his left eye, as he did he realized that he had no footwear on. The Nara looked down to see he was in his bedwear, a pair of jogging bottoms, and nothing else. The chuunin took in a deep breath and closed both his eyes, after a second his left eye flashed open, the byakugan activated.

Ryu took in his surroundings at a range of 50m, the doujutsu of the Hyuuga coming in handy as it always did. 40m to his left he noticed a clothesline that still had some garments hanging from it, he moved towards them. Ryu found a track jacket that was many sizes too big for him and looked like it should be sporting a hefty silver chain hanging over the top of it and a hat that had flappy ears that could be let down to offer protection from the cold, however, he still had bare feet, and he would have to deal with that for now.

Two figures came into view of his enhanced vision now, one of them he recognized instantly as the Drunk Deputy, his direct senior within the village. Good, he was not alone. Ryu made his way up to the pair, making very little notice due to his bare feet. As he saw the Deputy he had a pang of Deja Vu shoot through his body like he had gone through a very similar scenario before, and something about snow came to mind.

"Greetings on this fine night, what in the hell is going on?" Ryu said in a stressed voice as he approached the pair.

Meika wasn’t alone in this creepy nightmare. Her party quickly grew as three more lads joined in on her company. One she knew all too well, the deputy from way back. Another that she had a brief memory from, but was recognizable as the new Kage of Kumogakure. Meika had been a little late on the news that the Raikage title was passed on to a different individual. The realization of what she did in the past, and now being in the presence of the new Raikage cause her to slightly tense up. Since what Ichigo had mentioned wasn’t far from the truth about her being a troublemaker. “I’m not the cause of it this time, but unfortunately I always do find myself in the middle of these problematic situations.” She responded to the deputy in a hushed voice.

Her eyes all the while were watching the cultists that went to enter the building, taking the time to examine their appearance, choice of attire, and the symbol on their robes. The party of four were now caught up in the situation, so it was time to take action. With the Raikage pointing out if the symbol was recognizable to any of the other members, the kunoichi found herself in disagreement. Nothing about the symbol made sense to her.

Meika was unsure if taking out the guards would trigger suspicion. So far no other cultists were making their way to the entrance, so perhaps the main event was drawing near. The four of them would be the late arrivals, the two guards wouldn’t exactly be missed would they?

The kunoichi would begin her plan by weaving a series of hand signs, while speaking to the others. “I’ll be able to disguise two of us as cultists. I’m sure there is a crowd inside the building, so we should easily be able to blend in with the others as long as we act the part. We can be safe and take out the guards since no one else seems to be arriving.” She would wait and see if anyone would have objections or additional ideas to their procedure.

With the finishing of her genjutsu activation, both her and the unknown man in the track suit named Ryu would alter in appearance, but only slightly. The only changes that were really needed was their attire to match the ones the cultists wore, which had the special symbol on the back. Anything else that needed to change to look the part of the cultits would also be done underneath the genjutsu.

Meika glanced at the deputy and Raikage. “That is as far as my ability goes, but I’m sure you two are more than capable of having a solution for a disguise.” If either of them didn’t have a technique for the job, the ones under the disguise could take out the guards first to allow them a safe way in. If there was nothing else, the kunoichi disguised as a cultist would make her way from the back of their hiding spot. Ready to continue unless any objections are made.

Jutsu Activated: Demonic Illusion False Surroundings (20 AP)

As he continued to watch his surroundings the Deputy noticed another familiar face had appeared and joined both Meika and himself. "If I didn't know better I'd think the entirety of Kumogakure is here" Ichigo voiced while greeting Ryuzaki. For some reason the Drunk got the feeling it wasn't the first time he experienced something like this with the Nara, he couldn't quite put his finger on it but something was telling him the situation was oddly familiar. "I'm not sure, it looks as if the building is used for a gathering of cultists". Whatever the case, it seemed far too suspicious to just let it pass.

Not long after Ryu made his appearance a fourth and, most likely unless they didn't run out of surprises yet, final member of the group had shown up. This time it would be none other than the man, the myth, the legend himself, Noboru Kaito. "Lord Raikage, even you have been sent here?". As soon as he arrived the eleventh Kage of Kumogakure mentioned the strange symbol both guards were wearing on their outfit. "If memory serves me right I believe it's the symbol of Jashin, a cult dedicating themselves to human sacrifices". Now that he said and heard it out loud himself it gave the Deputy all the more reason to worry. 

Ichigo would listen as Kaito inquired about the current situation, wondering if anyone was up for a little investigation. It made sense, now that their group found themselves somewhat involved it wouldn't hurt to get to the bottom of it. He then paid attention to the troublemaker going by the name Meika, the kunoichi suggesting she'd use one of her Genjutsu techniques in order to create an illusion, making the already present guards believe that two of the Kumogakure crew were also part of their worrying cult. "By all means, show us what you got". With a smirk the man waited for her Genjutsu to take place before preparing a technique of his own.

Forming a couple of hand seals the Drunk would then start to disappear. "This won't take long". Having become invisible to everything and all Ichigo made his way over to the unknowing guards, concealed thanks to his technique. Once he had arrived at the position of both men he carefully snuck up on the closest of them before launching a quick attack to his neck. Knocking out one of the targets he then swiftly proceeded with taking down the second guard before that one could alarm the others. "That should do the trick". Making himself reappear again Ichigo signaled the rest of the group, letting them know the coast was clear.

Now that the two guards were taken care of it was time for the Kumogakure crew to figure out the next part of their plan. "Any ideas how to get inside? Perhaps we could dress up as them?". The Drunk would wait til the others had a chance to share their thoughts.

Ryu listened to the other two speak and then turned as he saw the leader of the village approaching with his byakugan. Ryu bowed as best he could as his village leader approached the group, although the situation definitely did not call for it. Ryu listened to the plan of the other two "No need I can disguise myself," Ryu said to the one of the group he was meeting for the first time. Before he got the chance to activate his own invisibility technique, The deputy drunk had done so and moved to action.

Ryu watched as the deputy took out the two guards, expertly taking out both guards until they lay unconscious on the floor. There was now no one guarding the front gate to the compound, the group could now gain entry, disguised or not. What the group was meant to do at this compound or what they would face inside was still a mystery. Ryu kept an eye on their surroundings with his byakugan, he knew at least one of the others would be doing the same.

Once the guards were dispatched Ryu moved towards the front gate of the building. There were now two cultist uniforms to be shared out. "We should have two of us dress up as the cultists and have the other two follow them with invisibility. Actual disguises will work better than genjutsu, just in case they have someone capable of seeing through it, not that either option is perfect." Ryu moved to the door and peeked inside, waiting for the rest of the group to decide on what was happening.

The Nara formed several different handseals and then activated his own technique, Hiding in Camouflage. His second doujutsu now showing as well, the combination of the Sharingan and byakugan was present in the other two as well, but Ryu would be on the lookout for approaching threats while the group discussed what plan they would take.

Ryu's mind wandered back to the nostalgia feeling he had around Christmas time. He could not shake the feeling that similar events were happening with similar people. However, he could not put his finger on the specific memories. Ryu shook his head and tried to focus on the task at hand, his feet were starting to feel the cold night air, but he had trained to not let that bother him. Ryu would of felt better if he had all of his equipment, but he was missing his armor and weapons. At least now he had clothes over his back and was no longer in his pjs. The conversation of the other three appeared to have come to a conclusion and he was now going to listen to his seniors on what they were going to do.
