Training the starter Genin
Thu Nov 04, 2021 10:07 pm
The morning sound of the rooster left Kota feeling angry. Going on a full night binger did not help the state he felt when he got up. He brushed his teeth, ate, then checked his schedule. Hmmm…. The only thing I have planned for today is teaching. This could be fun. I never had the opportunity to do this. The thought he had about the entire thing was pleasant. He got dressed quickly in full gear. His bow draped over his shoulder and quiver on his back.
The familiar walk to the weapons training ground did not take him long. It was one of the places Kota was most familiar with. He came here when Arantima was teaching him the basics of weaponry. It was pretty crazy how time flew by, yet still felt like it moved slow. The training ground that Kota was located at was a large field. The field had a few trees grown with ninjutsu, capable of repairing themselves and regrowing. The sturdiness and self repair was better than some targets in other villages.
Kota kept his back to the door. He took off his bow and quiver to place it at the nearest tree. This time he only kept a simple Kunai in his hand, which he grabbed out of his leg pouch. He was making slow slices in the air, simple training to warm up his body. A time waster that he normally would not bother with. Kota was just too excited to have his pupil that he felt like working off the extra energy.

Naki was just waking up though he hasn't really been asleep for long thanks to his excitement from him getting a chance to train with someone that has taken many missions before him. Naki would get up and shower as well as brush his teeth quickly before running back to his room to get dressed. He was standing in his light blue jumper with his kunai pouch on his left leg and his shuriken pouch on his right buttcheek. He'd start eating something simple like eggs and toast before running off to the front room where he slipped on his shoes going to the door but stopping when he remember the most important thing his family sword that was handed down to him from his father. He'd run to what was the living room and grabbed it before walking back and out the door bowing at the pictures of his parents before running off to the training ground.
The young dark skin male would get to the training grounds where saw the other male standing there where Naki stopped in front of him and bowed respectfully at him as the sword was on his back as he looked at him afterwards. His voice was soft and gentle showing he hasn't hit puberty yet but it could happen soon. "I hope I'm not late." he said looking at him as he adjusted his clothes a bit.

Kota would feel the unfamiliar chakra pop up behind him, before he heard the voice. As a sensory ninja he was adapted to feeling the relative chakra in his surroundings. He had not bothered to turn around at the moment. He wanted to complete the form he was practicing first. When the kiddo spoke to him he was finishing up.
“Nope. You are right on time. Looks like you came prepared. This is the first time I had to give a lesson so bare with me. My name is Kota and I am proud to be your instructor for the day.” Kota turned to see a young dark skinned man, it was the first time Kota met someone else in the same range of skin color as himself.
Kota would give the young man a chance to speak. Kota was building the impression of a bright eyed youngster. If he was pleased the newer ninja would receive a bright smile. “Well. I always say the best way to get started is to just jump in. Draw your weapon and follow these movements. I want to see how well you can handle your sword.” The movements Kota made were simple enough. He used the kunai in his hand as the sword in question. Kota was simply trying to see the young man’s potential with a blade.

Naki would be taken back a bit aa he was excited to watch the man as he finished up on his training. He'd stand back a bit before he was finally acknowledged by the only other dark skin male that he's seen since his parents. Naki take note of the man's name as he smiled again excitedly but he knew that he had to stay calm he doesn't want to come off weird or anything. "I'm Naki Choko and I'm glad to learn under you."
He said as he heard the request for him to draw upon his blade. He was hesitant but he brought it for this reason and to help further himself. He'd take the sword, that was upon his back, drawing it from it's sheath as he took an amateur stance with it. His swings were amateur at best because he didn't exactly have steady training with it. The sword was old and beaten up as well as lacked proper care and maintenance though Naki wasn't one to blame he hasn't really received proper training for it and this could be his way to learn. It would seem that Naki definitely had the basics down pact so there's no need to start him from the ground but there's gonna be a bit of work behind it.

Kota was avidly watching the moves made by Naki. His attention was taking as many details as he could from the way the sword sliced the air, to how Naki moved with it, even looking for that subtle sheen that was made when chakra was infused into the weapon. It was the subtle signs that Kota was hoping to see from Naki. The current skill displayed while not the worst was somewhat disappointing. Kota made sure to keep the signs of disappointment off his face. He was informed that building up skill was better than destroying self confidence.
When Naki finished Kota started to give his feedback. “That was not bad, Naki. It seems you have at least held a blade before. Your overall skill will require some work, at least you are not hopeless. Look closely.” Kota held up the kunai in his hand and started to use the chakra infusion skill. A necessary skill for all weapon users. The kunai started to get a slight gleam to it. As if the quality went up and the blade sharpened itself. “This is one of the weaponry basics. It is called chakra infusion and is a necessary building block for a lot of techniques. Start by trying to circulate the chakra in your body. Do not let it build up but feel the flow of it. A swordsman may not have a lot of chakra but you can make do with the amount you have.”
Kota sat down in what people would describe as criss cross applesauce. “It will be easier if you sat down here with me. You can keep your sword in your lap. Till you feel the chakra in your body flow better. As I spoke a lot, feel free to ask me any questions you may have.”

Naki had a small work of sweat on him as he looked at the teacher when he was finished. He was glad that he wasn't hopeless at least that wasn't bad. Once he started to talk again Naki was attentive to his words as he continues to talk about the ability to infuse chakra into weapon. this made Naki look at his sword in hopes that he could do it woth it. Naki would stand up as he told him that he might not have a lot of chakra though that's where kota is wrong Naki had a good amount of chakra and despite his age he had amazing control over it could be from the countless hours of working on it. When kota started to infuse his kunai Naki was already thinking about how he could do it too. Though being told to sit down and learn to circulate his chakra put a damper on things but he understood why he wanted this Naki would follow suit and get down sitting front of him with his legs crossed.
Naki was looking at him as he copies his position as they started to focus on circulation of the chakra in their bodies. Naki was taken back aa he thought he had it but for some reason he's struggling now, waa it because of his excitement over training or was he just delusional when he thought he had it when it came to chakra control. This was causing him to become annoyed with it very quickly as he adjusted his position a bit. "So um kota sensei what happens if you use to much chakra in the weapon? Would it break?" he asked him as he closed his eyes again to figure this out. As kota spoke Naki was thinking of a way to circulate the chakra better but was struggling still until he thought about something. He'd inhale and breathe softly as he began to circulate his chakra with a soft smile on his face. Naki had a love for painting and he decided to try and implement it in his chakra control. By picturing himself as a canvas and his chakra is the brush and it was going around filling the lines of the character he drew. He couldn't have one side with more paint/chakra than the other so he'd stroke it in the other direction. He'd continue this as he continues to circulate his chakra throughout his body almost forgetting why he was there.
"When are we gonna go to the next step?"

“No. A ton of chakra is normally lost when translated to power for the weapon. It is unlikely for a person to break their weapon. Unless they had a colosseum full of chakra and a small weapon.” He would wait till Naki decided he was ready to move on to the next step. Some people had a slower time channeling and focusing their chakra than others. It was okay to be slow but an exercise like this should improve it. If chakra circulated too slow some would have a hard time utilizing it effectively.
The wait was not long as Naki started to question him. “I was actually waiting on you. Till you felt like you were ready. We can start whenever as long as you feel your flow is stable. You will simply move the flow that you are feeling into the blade in your hand. It should feel like water flowing into an empty bathtub. Do it a couple of times till you can do it with relative ease. Then I can teach you a few moves.” Kota would stand in front of Naki, using one hand he would perform three seals slowly. The tiger, the boar, and the rat last. The glow on the kunai in hand grew stronger for a split second. A flick of his wrist had the kunai moving at a full 115 speed towards a targeted tree. The impact force caused the tree to shatter. Sending bits of splinters about. “That is a chakra infused kunai with the jutsu flying swallow. A lot more damage would have happened if I was trying.”
Kota managed to combine multiple things on one weapon. He was pretty happy with himself as that was the first time he tried doing it. It would have been embarrassing if it did not work out. The only thing Kota would have done was play it off as a joke. Then go home and cry about it with a tub of ice cream. The relief he felt had him screaming for joy inside.

Naki, who was still swaying, would open his eyes as Kota explained to him the possibility of the chakra not being able to destroy his weapon. He'd sigh of relief as his sword is kind of worn out and he definitely didn't want to destroy it. When kota continued to explain the that he was waiting for him and gave naki the go ahead to transfer the chakra into his blade he'd go ahead. Though it did prove to be a bit difficult as he tried to use the idea of filling an empty tub with water but he did break concentration on that to instead pay attention to kota when he did the hand signs. Naki would quietly mumble to himself as he started the hand signs though naki wasn't as trained as he was so doing it with one hand was impressive to naki.
"Tiger, boar, rat." he mumbled before kota launched the weapon at a tree and it exploded upon impact causing him to drop his jaw in awe. "Holy wow!" He was taken back as he definitely wants to learn more from him especially witnessing one handed signs and such control. The young ninja would go back to trying to fill the tub, that was his sword, of chakra. Naki did struggle with it at first but he after about five tries he was starting to get the hang of it as the chakra could be felt by the sensory ninja as naki has gotten good at transferring the chakra over. "Did you want me to try the jutsu as well?" He asked as he brought up one hand prepared to try it just in case he said yes to him. He held the chakra infused blade in dominant hand as he didn't understand the flying swallow but he saw it as infuse chakra throw item.

“You do not have to ask me every little thing. It is fine for you to try some of the concepts on your own. Drawing your own conclusions will work out for you as well. If I spoon fed you everything it will only make you another me.” At this point Kota was proud of his ability to spout bull crap. It was the same nonsense his dad fed him. Kota was a lot nicer than his father. Kota’s dad would have dropped him into the middle of a bear caver for laughs, or training like he called it. At least Kota would choose the option that leads to a less likely chance of death, just with a few more mental scars.
“One thing to note. Practice making the seals with one hand. It will most likely be the thing that saves your life in the future. Making hand seals with both hands can be a tad impractical in most cases. As long as you use a weapon the odds of you having both hands are minimized. Hence the one handed sealing method is pretty much a standard thing to learn.” Kota could only hope the young man was getting the chance to understand the essence of what was being taught. Kota was going over a lot of material that not everyone had a chance of learning. “While you are doing that I can work on some other stuff I need to have done. The life of a ninja is always moving forward.”
Kota would pay attention to what his little disciple was doing. He would also take some time out to start checking on his gear and getting his own things in order. Kota forgot to do it earlier but he remembered looking at the kid. He used both hands to form the needed hand seals to create the chakra storage seal. 130 chakra (action points) drained from his body. He did not feel too weakened by it. He placed the seal on his right hand and was pretty happy about it. It was the first time he applied a seal to his own body. Kota would keep himself open to anything the other young ninja would need to ask.

Naki would nod as he was given the go ahead to try it on his weapon as he stood up and looked at his old sword. He'd start to close his eyes as he focused on his chakra slowly accumulating it to his body as he does the hand signs of tiger, boar, then rat as he held the blade but something was wrong and he felt it. His eyes would open as he looked at his sword as nothing happened and boy this was definitely difficult for him. He'd raise one hand again tried again as nothing really happened it was mostly because he wasn't exactly transferring his chakra over like before because he was to focused on himself trying to do one handed signs as it wasn't exactly something one could adapt to. Naki would try again this time working on combining the two in hopes of getting it correct.
"Tiger - boar - rat." he mumbled to himself as he continues to move his one hand to try and create the signs. It definitely was frustrating because instinctively he'd want to bring up the one hand to do the two handed version. He wouldn't ask for any assistance because he doesn't want to bother him plus he wants to be able to achieve it with his own ability. He'd once again try to keep his hand away from the other while he preformed this action in hopes of nailing it. Naki would place his hand behind his back as he shut his eyes before imagining his other hand was next to the one as he preformed the actions. He'd start off slowly to himself a bit use to it before trying again but a bit faster. While kota was working on his gear and checking his items Naki hand signs were getting faster before pulling his sword and other hand back in front of him. After what felt like twenty or more minutes of constant working on his hand signs and the flow of chakra he would attempt to apply it to his weapon.
Once again it didn't work as he breathes softly a bit as he felt himself use 20 chakra points for this. He'd tried once again losing another 20 just for it to fail again he would squint his eyes at his sword thinking about it. He had it earlier but putting it all into practice makes it harder for him as he tried to work on it again. Once more he'd tried doing it to this old sword for it to show up like he did it but fail just as fast. He would think about it a bit before taking the sheath off his body and placing his sword inside of it before placing it off to the side. "I'm going to try it with something smaller. Maybe that can help me understand this better." he told kota if he was still watching as Naki drew out a kunai and started to work his chakra on it this time as Naki found out that it wasn't any easier. This revelation made him rethink everything as he had wasted another 20 chakra points before going back to criss cross. "If you don't mind me asking how long did it take you to learn this?" He asked as he didn't take his eyes off the weapon but he was obviously listening as he was thinking about it a bit more.
