Cid would stretch, enjoying as the sea breeze would blow through his hair. It made no difference what any of the naysayers thought, this was the life for him. Nice breeze, plenty of easy money, and the gentle rocking of the ocean vessel to relax him. Plus, these nice sailor folk enjoy paying a portion of the wages in rum which honestly made the whole thing far better than just getting paid in money. He could keep a light buzz going while he worked, since his work was easily the least demanding the majority of the time. Sure, he would assist with other matters where he could, moving something from here to there or swabbing a deck, but in reality he was on this ship to protect them should some less savory individuals decide to try and board the ship and steal their cargo. A glorified babysitter, but at least one that could drink on the job. Cid would nod, his cheeks a tad rosey from the consumption of alcohol.
Their cargo today was an assortment of things, spices and herbs from the some foreign land and making its way towards their port town and then shipped by foot to the Land of Tea. Probably for some sort of hot liquid beverage. It was the land of TEA. He would chuckle, laughing at his own silly joke. Cid was sure that there was another bit of 'cargo' though it was not of the usual type. A strange man, often babbling to himself and clutching on to a fairly ornate looking wooden box. He didn't seem to have told anyone what it was he had, or why he felt he needed to pay for safe passage. Cid shrugged. He didn't have any problem with easy money, even if it was from some sort of strange person like that old man. Still, Cid would be forced to walk over approaching the elderly man and interrupting some sort of conversation he was having with... himself? No, maybe he was talking to the box? "Hey old man!" Cid would greet him with, lifting a jug of rum up. "You want some of this?" Perhaps the old man would feel better about speaking on what was in the box if he was properly socially lubricated.
The old man paused his mutterings and looked up, offering an eerie smile. He had been missing some teeth, but in his advanced age Cid imagined that such couldn't be helped. The old man would nod, "Thank you, sonny boy" The man would offer before tearing his one hand away from his mysterious parcel to grab the jug and take a long drink. He would hand it back to the red haired rogue, who was using this time to look around for his Hyuuga friend. The Hyuuga had a few more responsibilities than Cid did, but that was likely because of the differences in their physical strength. The Hyuuga was stronger and faster, so he would be relied on to do some of the heavy lifting around the ship.

A gentle breeze going through his long hair while the wind softly touched the young man's skin, life wasn't all that bad. Beautiful weather, lots of freedom, a steady way of making a living. Yep, moving to the Port town in Fire Country was probably the best decision Grey ever made, for him and his family. No longer bound by the shackles of the clan or shinobi laws, away from war and other potential dangers being part of a village would entail. Obviously it wasn't as if the Hyuuga could simply spend his days with his feet up in the air doing nothing, but it would still beat his former lifestyle.
On today's agenda was the protection of a certain cargo meant for the Land of Tea, a smaller country attracting a lot more business recently. He didn't really care but rumors had there were apparently things going on which caused the place to flourish lately. "Good for them" the swordsman thought to himself, unaffected by whatever events went on far away from his own location. As always Grey would simply focus on the things he could, making life easier for both himself and the rest of his family. His mother but also the little brat he started taking care of after the child lost her parents.
Carrying a couple of boxes around the Hyuuga would be doing most of the heavy lifting, making himself useful wherever he could. No matter how comfortable life was, there were still responsibilites and tasks to be fulfilled. Performing his duties to the best of his abilities the young Hyuuga arrived close to the dock, the sea breeze touching the long locks of hair. It was there he recognized a certain red haired individual who appeared to be slightly drunk, enjoying a good amount of alcohol as usual. Life of a pirate, ain't that the truth.
From a distance Grey could notice Cid talking to a strange individual, an old man who seemed to be talking to himself before engaging in a conversation. Being offered a bit of rum the man suddenly opened up just a little, glad to be able to enjoy the taste of liquor. "What an interesting duo" the swordsman spoke under his breath, only for himself to hear. Putting some of the boxes he was carrying away, placing them down somewhere nearby Grey finally walked up to the pair of men bonding over some drinks. "I see you two are having fun, what's the occasion?". Crossing both arms over each other the Hyuuga stood there with a big smile on his face.

Aihara stood at the edge of the docks, it had been five days since Grey had left with Cid; a little over a month since the nightmares took place – Aihara still couldn’t shake some of them; when Grey first told her she would be staying back in the port town, she protested; wanting to go with the pair, but at the end of the day she lost and had to stay back and wait for her big brother to return. As she stood, waiting patiently for the large boat to return to the port she rocked back and forth from the tip of her toes to the back of her heel; her hands held together behind her back. Aihara watched the water, every day all day. She wasn’t entirely certain which day they would be back, after all Grey had only told her it would be a few days at most, and it already had been five; the nightmares of the past creeping up on her every night she was alone.
As Aihara waited, sever ladies would come by throughout the day and into the evening to check on the small girl; it never seemed to phase anyone that she would wait all day at the docks waiting for someone, they just knew that Aihara’s determination wouldn’t be stopped and there was no talking her out of moving away from the docks. However it was convinced to Aihara that boats don’t move during the night, and that she could go home – according to the one sailor that had seen Aihara waiting… The man was kind; and did it at the bequest of one of the port towns villagers, the middle aged woman worried for Aihara, not wanting her to catch a cold, or get hurt during the night when people couldn’t keep an eye on her anymore.
Aihara would make note during the evening a strange man would lurk about, almost as if he didn’t want to be caught doing something; or just caught in general – of course no one but Grey had a real understanding of the way she spoke; having had been with Grey for as long as she was now he had become adept to understanding his sisters silly language and different ques that she gave off to communicate. Since the ‘Halloween’ nightmares, Aihara had sunken deeper into her own mind; unable to remember the dreams, but able to remember the fear that she went through during them. It was dark; and unsettling as one could say. A small sigh as she looked away for a moment; that was until she heard it; the soft crash against wood, this sound usually meant a ship coming ashore; Aihara quickly turned back to look; although over the course of five days there had been several ships in and out of the town; none had been her brother returning… Until now! She jumped, clapping her hands with excitement; she remembered the boat quite well, she could already tell it was her brother returning home.
Aihara quickly ran to the front of the dock; letting out cries of joy; “Grey!!! Big brudda Greeey!!!” She would cry out waving her arms franticly; she was excited to finally have her brother back; she almost forgot about her Uncle Cid, Aihara had gotten to meet Cid since the dreams, although their meetings were small and usually didn’t happen till just before it was bed time for Aihara, something about Cid liking spicey juice and Aihara not being old enough for it yet. “Unnncleee Cid!” She would cry out next, they were still quite a ways away from the dock, but she was screaming as loud as her small lungs would allow her too.

Cid would finally spoke his Hyuuga pal, the man's tasks seemingly done and now he was able to socialize. "The occasion? Simple! We drink to good health, good company, good times, and safe journeys!" Cid would raise up the bottle, downing another swig before holding the bottle out and offering some to his swordsman comrade. The old man's face would show concern, Cid's words striking some sort of nerve in the elderly man. "I can't say the same..." he would mutter, mostly under his breath but loud enough for keen ears to pick up on it. Something was eating away at this old man, and Cid imagined it must have something to do with the ornate box. The old man was on this trip alone... Cid's mind began to ponder what all of that could mean. Obviously with the old man not having the best of his days, the pirate didn't want to press the man. Cid would simply have to let his curiosity be unsated. "You going to be here long? I am sure we can work out safe passage back for you as well," Cid would ask, hoping to ease into a new topic. The man would clutch his box tightly, "No I don't think I'll be here for very long."
If Grey were to look into the box with his Byakugan, he wouldn't see much. Merely sand or dust of some sort.
"So Grey, I haven't talked to you yet about this, but how would you feel about us having our own ship?" The red haired bandit would ask, a big grin plastered on his face though it couldn't be determined if it was there because of the liquor or because the wily man had some sort of nefarious deeds planned to procure said ship. "I'm thinking a big one. Like, probably this size, or maybe a little bigger. We can be our own bosses!" Whether this was a brilliant idea or the ramblings of a man that had too much to drink would be hard to determine. Cid's voice would hush as the other sailor's would walk by. He didn't want them to overhear and try to sabotage this plan of action, since without the likes of Cid and Grey, they were far more prone to getting attacked by raiders and privateers. One of the two sailor's passing by mentions to the other about being so happy to finally be home so that he can go and see his wife.
The group pulled up to the shore, the little miss Aihara being able to easily be heard on the approach. "Hiya, kiddo!" He would offer back. He still wasn't completely used to being 'Uncle Cid' but she was a good kid and grew on him a bit. "Whatever you and Grey would like to eat, meals on me tonight."

The Hyuuga swordsman started to laugh upon hearing Cid's response. "As if you ever needed a reason to drink" the youth would say to tease his friend as he put an arm around the redhead. Grey accepted the bottle of liquor, taking a small swig of whatever left inside. While both pirates were messing around a certain sense of worry could be seen on the old man's face, enough reason for Cid to inquire, hoping it allowed the elderly person to open up a little. However, the attempt appeared to be futile, not even the slightest change in the drunkard's mood.
His friend's next question caught him by surprise, not expecting to be asked such a thing. "To tell you the truth, I never considered it. Up til now that is". It made him think, wonder about whether or not it would be the alcohol talking or if the red haired drunk was serious. "Our own ship? As in, ours? Not serving some sort of poor excuse of a captain but actually living as our own boss?". An interesting idea, that he had to admit but how realistic would it be? Looking back at the years they spent in the Port town so far made him realize it could be time for something new, a drastic change if you may.
The two of them would pass fellow sailors, Cid suddenly no longer talking to avoid anyone else being able to pick up on what they were discussing. Once the group passed both men Grey spoke up once more. "We have been collecting a nice amount of money over these past years.." the Hyuuga started to pick up where they left off. By then they had finally arrived at the shore, cries of joy able to be heard across the entire ocean. "Hello princess, did you miss me?" the swordsman would smile as he picked up his little sister. "Do you hear that Aihara? Uncle Cid is paying!". He let the red haired drunk lead the way, following behind the man who was going to decide where they were going to eat. "Brat, what would you say if we got ourselves a big boat?" Grey carefully hinted as the three of them made their way to dinner.

Aihara jumped excitedly; she was excited to be able to go and eat dinner wherever; she had the largest grin, she excited hugged her big brother, her little arms wrapping around his neck as she hugged him as tightly as she could; she did miss the both of them, it had been one of the longest times she had been away from Grey; “I misssssssed you soooo much big brodda!” She would give him a kiss on the cheek; blinking for a moment as she listened to him… A big boat? She tilted her head out of curiosity, “A…Big boat?” She grinned once again, “Like that one!” She pointed towards the ship that the pair had just gotten off of; her large pink eyes glinting in the brightness of the day; “Yes! Big big booaty!” She giggled, and returned her stare towards the red hair’d man, known to her as Uncle Cid; “C…can we pwease get raaaamen and stweamed bunss?” She begged, clinging onto Grey as they walked.
Aihara’s smiled quickly disappeared as she took notice of the strange man she had seen before, slipping past them again; Aihara leaned over, closer to Greys’ ear, “Big brodda… That man… He worriehs me.” She whispered making sure that the man wouldn’t be able to hear her, he did in fact scare her from what she saw him doing; she usually only seen the man during the evenings, but this time he was out earlier; “We should follow him… I think he has bad ideas… He has been crweeping around at night…” She knew that Grey wouldn’t be happy to hear that she was out during the evening after the sun went down, but she was worried for what this man would be able to do to the small port town the trio had been staying in; she was sure that he had notorious intentions… And she figured it had something to do with the port itself…
As the young girl eyed the route that the mysterious man would take; hoping that Grey and Cid would agree to the following of the man, at least to check out where he was going and if she was correct in her suspicions. Although in her mind, she was completely correct; and there was no way to tell her otherwise, she felt as if they should be the protectors of this small town, she didn’t want any harm to come to it’s inhabitants, even if they were to move on, she wanted to make sure that no matter what they would be okay.

Re: A Decent Payday

Cid could not help but keep a goofy grin on his face as Grey processed and thought about what all the bandit had said. The Hyuuga was right, as their own ship meant that they didn't need to answer to any half-assed captains or shipmates that they didn't get along with. The red head knew that he had saved up a good bit, and with Grey also saying that he had a nice chunk set aside it meant that this idea they were cooking up had all of the necessary ingredients, they just needed to put it all together.
The disembarking of the ship to meet with the Little Miss went smoothly, and unloading the ship's cargo was the job of other more burly sailors. Cid's part was done, and he doubted that the sailors needed Grey to unload anything. Hell, they needed to earn their pay too. When Grey mentioned the idea of their own boat to Aihara she seemed to light up, seemingly fond of the idea. That was good, since he knew that if Aihara wasn't keen on the idea Grey, too, would likely be reluctant to put this plan into action. "Ramen and Steamed Buns? You got it. You can have all the Ramen and Steamed buns your little heart desires." Cid was in a proper good mood, both because of the light buzz going and the fact that they would probably soon be owners of their own ship soon.
Aihara seemed concerned about some odd man, mentioning he'd been slinking about at night. "Eh, he's probably been fu- Err..." Cid would watch what he said here, something he was concerned with at first but he had grown more accustomed to by now. Swearing here and there seemed alright, but certain topics... well those weren't for the little ears to hear. "Finding some hobby to pass the time at night. Must not be able to sleep or something." Cid would give Grey the look, the one that all adults seemed give one another when they say something like this. "You said he's been slinking about every night? Maybe he'll be out tonight too. Honestly, I would rather get some food in us first before we do anything else, but I leave final say on such a decision up to you two." Cid had his suspicions as to what a man was doing slinking about at night and none of them were good.
If the group decided to head to the tavern for food Cid would order a feast, each of them starting off with a massive bowl of ramen with a huge plate of steamed buns resting at the center. Cid would waste little time digging in, stuffing his face proper. The man would find a steamed bun filling his mouth fully when one of the sailors approached the trio. "Hey, you two are the ship muscle, right?" Cid, unable to answer with a full mouth would nod, unsure of what the sailor was getting at. If he was mad about the pair skating out before the ship was unloaded... well, too friggin' bad. "I went to go see my wife only to find some bastard jumping out the window when I walked into the house." He would pull out his share of the pay from their last job, "I'll pay you both to go teach that son of a bitch a lesson he won't soon forget!"
With that said, the hefty coin purse would hit the table with a satisfying sound of coins shifting around. Cid would look over to Grey, finally swallowing down his mouth of food. "I mean... sounds like a simple enough job."

Just as he expected, his little sister was beyond excitement upon hearing the idea of getting themselves a boat. "Even bigger" Grey replied with a smile in response to the boat Aihara pointed at. "I guess that's settled then" the Hyuuga voiced as he pinched her cheek. The child's enthusiasm grew even bigger when she found out they were going for dinner, Uncle Cid's treat. It didn't exactly come as a surprise when the swordsman heard what she wanted to have, ramen and steamed buns. "Sounds good, your uncle loves him some buns, especially after spending some time at sea" he would laugh out loud.
On their way to one of the taverns in town Aihara suddenly whispered in his ear, telling him about a suspicious man that worried her. "And what were you doing out so late, young lady?". It was no secret the man didn't like her late night escapades but there wasn't much he could do about it either. He could only hope and trust that she wouldn't get hersef into trouble. "We'll talk about that later sweetie, big brother and uncle Cid really need to eat something first, alright?". As he said those comforting words Grey gave his sister a little rub over her head.
Not long after they entered the establishment each of them was presented with a true feast, a huge bowl of ramen with the additional steamed buns. As the Hyuuga and his company were enjoying dinner one of the sailors would approach them, explaining a certain situation and asking them for their help. "Ehm, sure pal. But let us finish first yeah?". In his mind Grey wondered what would happen to the wife, it took more than one person to indulge in infidelity after all. Perhaps they would even be able to hit two birds with one stone, the first by teaching that so called bastard a lesson and the second by investigating the mysterious man Aihara mentioned earlier.

Aihara’s eyes would marvel as Grey told her their boat would be even bigger then the ones at the dock; her eyes scanning across the many different sized ships; she hadn’t seen any bigger than the ones that sat before her on the water – she began to wonder what all the different sized boats there could be… She wondered if their was such a boat the size of an island… She would keep thinking about these things as Grey carried her along. As Grey would pinch her cheek, she would puff air into them; pouting slightly as she rubbed the cheek he had pinched; tilting her head in confusion at his next comment about Uncle Cid liking buns after spending time at sea; “I really like buns anytime!” Aihara would giggle, she thought it was silly that he only liked them after he had been away at sea for a while.
After the whispers about the strange man, Grey would question as to why Aihara was out so late; which she would simply reply; “I was waiting for you big brodda!” As he confirmed that it would be a conversation for later, and Cid would mention he would be probably be back later tonight; she would nod in agreement; still clinging onto Grey as they entered the shop; finally releasing him as she took a speeding run for the closest table, waiting as they make their order for food.
As the food would finally reach the table, Aihara would make quick work of her first bowl of ramen; slurping up the broth; making sure to savor the flavour; her tiny hands reaching for her third bun as she would look to her Uncle, “Could I have another bowl of raaaamen Uncle Cid?” She would place her hands together, as to beg him; before he could even reply – another strange man would come up to the table, he appeared to be a sailor; as per his attire, she listened closely as he spoke to Grey and Cid, scrunching up her nose as he spoke; Aihara would watch as he threw a coin purse on the table, her eyes marveling at the ‘thud’ it would make… There had to be at least 50 ryo in that purse! She would quickly grab the bag, and stand up in her seat; “Don’t worry mister! I’ll teach him a lewsson he wonts forgets!” She proudly stated, giving him a big thumbs up as she wiped her face off from the remaining bun crumbs. Ignoring the fact that Grey had stated to wait for the trio to finish eating.

Cid would just continue to eat, making sure to try and quickly finish his ramen. He knew that he was on board, and it would seem like Grey wasn't entirely against the idea. Little Miss Aihara was fairly excited, offering to do the work herself. The thought of the little pink wonder beating the sense out of a full grown man was delightful, a smile crawling across the face of the red haired bandit as he played it in his mind over and over. Each pummeling had been funnier than the last. "If you want more ramen, Aihara you are more than welcome to it. You need to eat well to keep your strength up to carry us all through this important assignment." He'd let out a light chuckle, disregarding the grumbles of the sailor. They weren't going to have their meal interrupted, especially not for something like this.
Aihara seemed already ready to go, but Cid would let the sailor wait as Grey was finishing up his food. The bandit would grab another steamed bun, quickly scarfing it down. He wished that there was better refreshments to wash it down, but a nice glass of hot tea would have to make do. It was cool enough that he didn't have to take small sips. Once Grey was finished and Aihara had their fill, Cid would rise from his seat to start this endeavor. "I hope that everyone ate their fill!" He would state, shifting focus to the seafarer, "So, did you get a good look at the man climbing out the window? Can you describe him, or at least maybe what he was wearing? Or if you did all the hard work of finding where he was going, it will make this whole thing super easy for us."
Cid would stand up, looking down at the shorter and stockier sailor while waiting for his answer. His whole demeanor was one of nonchalance, casually following the sailor out of the restaurant with Aihara and Grey. "We can look for that strange dude as well while we're out and about. Oh, I almost forgot!" Cid would rush back in, paying their bill in full and offering a generous tip in apology for almost walking out without paying.
"Now, where were we?" Cid would ask.
