Troublesome Tree

Mission Details:

Ise had woken up the next day, feeling dead to the world. His spikey hair was now a spikey mess, and the bags underneath his eyes made him look like he had trouble sleeping. The silver-haired Uchiha tiredly walked downstairs before even getting dressed, deciding that he wanted breakfast before he did anything else. However, as he was eating, his mother had mentioned to him that he had gotten a few missives today. Isemori wasn’t necessarily thrilled, to say the least. That was mainly because he had been doing missions by himself lately. It wasn’t that he wasn’t unable to do them without help, but rather that he wished he had at least some form of company. However, as he read the missions, he noticed a familiar name that was listed as his partner for the missions he would be doing for the day.

He was actually surprised even, knowing that he’d be partnering up with his younger cousin, Toran today. “I’m sure Toran’s probably just as excited as I am.” Ise grinned slightly, and with that, Ise quickly finished up his breakfast, showered, and got dressed - ready to head out to meet his younger cousin. “Toran’s probably already waiting for me at the tree. Hopefully, he hasn’t been waiting for too long,” Ise thought to himself. If he did, he’d more than likely get an ear full from his younger cousin when he’d arrive. The tree mentioned in the missive stated that it had been growing out of control for quite some time now. It wasn’t anywhere near the building however if it continued to grow, chances are that it would grow over the electric poles that were near it, which would definitely cause problems later on. It could grow so much that it could damage the wires tethered to other poles in the area. Ise though had an idea for that though, which was strapped on his back. Ise had never gotten the time to himself to practice using his newly-gifted Katana, however, maybe perhaps now this would be the perfect time to give it a test run.

Isemori kept that to himself though, not fully knowing if his younger cousin already had an idea in mind. After a good bit of running, Ise had made it to where the tree was located. “Sorry to keep you waiting, Toran! So, got any ideas on how to deal with this thing?” Ise had said finally paying attention to the tree. “Jesus … Do trees get growth spurts too!?” Ise said, eyeing the massive tree. Just as the missive said, the tree’s branches were growing dangerously close to the poles that were near it.

Toran surprisingly didn’t have any problems actually sleeping surprisingly enough, even with the potential threats that were with being Shinobi. It was good to at least not have trouble sleeping in the morning. However what made him even more happy when he woke up was that his hair wasn’t entirely messy. But was certainly long in places that he hadn’t even thought were possible for him, the Uchiha grabbed his knots of black hair rather tightly, before gracefully wrapping a small band along it that would keep it there for now. His eyes do not have that sunken look that most Uchiha obtained at one point or another. Even his parents had that sunken expression whenever they woke up. His mother was actually also up and awake, handing over the mission board Toran was put on. The woman noticed her son was using his sharingan more and more. Especially when it came to reading and writing, she gave a small sigh before reminding him of it.

“Toran, you know you shouldn’t be using your sharingan all the time rig-” She was interrupted with Toran handing her the board and grabbing his dark blue coat and ninja gear.

“Don't worry mom! I’m just trying to get used to it!” He said with that spark he didn’t seem to have beforehand. Toran rushed out the door with pep in his steps. He rushed towards where he could see where Isemori was. Noticing his rather distinguished Chakra signature after a while.

Toran would eventually show up towards the massive tree location, coming just moments after Isemori had arrived and investigated the tree. Wondering if there was any way for them to cut down the tree without causing some serious damage. He didn’t even know if he could lift the damn thing. But Toran decided not to test that theory, instead thinking of some way to potentially get it down.

“I don’t have anything right now, don’t even know how much this thing could weigh…. This is a bit of a bother isn’t it? If only we had some type of wind jutsu or something like that.... Cause both of us use lightning and fire it's gonna be hard to get this thing down without causing any damage.”

Ise gave it some thought to what his cousin had said. "He’s right. Ninjutsu no matter what shape or form would be too risky to use.” Ise stepped a few feet ahead, examining the tree branches above. They were close to the wiring from the pole, however, there was still a way for them to complete the mission without causing too much damage. With what Ise had in mind if the two of them did things right, chances are the wiring would be able to not even be touched. That was when Isemori grinned, laughing slightly. He faced his younger cousin and said to him, “I have a way to cut the tree down without harming anything else in the area, but … we’ll need to be in sync with each other perfectly if it’s going to work, alright?” Ise had said with a smile to his younger cousin before talking again.

“Plus,” he paused, while slowly unsheathing his katana while his grin spread wider across his face. “I think this is a good time to test my new toy,” Ise had said in an eager tone, the blade of his katana being held in his right hand with the sun’s light reflecting off of it. “Go ahead and stand back. Be ready to use your fireball jutsu, got it?” Ise had stated, not really as an order, but more so for Toran’s own safety rather. Once Toran had taken a few steps back like Isemori had asked him to do, Ise breathed in, then started swinging his blade around him, which caused an air current to pick up from the constant momentum of his swings.

Then after a good minute, of swinging the blade around him, once he had a good enough air current built up around him, he swiftly adjusted the blade in his hand, swinging it in front of him. Just as he did so, a dragon appeared formed from the air current that surrounded him, launching itself straight towards the tree, shredding the base of the tree right above where the stump was. The tree was about to fall backward, however, the silver-haired Uchiha was not done. He formed the hand signs with his rand quickly, creating three shadow clones of himself. The four Ise’s then moved quickly, gunning for the tree, while infusing their blades with chakra, cutting the falling tree into segments. Then once that was finished, Ise would swiftly adjust his blade once more, then with a swing of his blade forward as the shadow clones dispersed, the now cut-up tree was being blown up into the air just from the force of Ise’s swing of his blade. “Toran, now!” Ise said quickly while the logs Ise had made were starting to fall back down.

“Alright then Bro, show me what you’ve been playing with since I’ve been gone alright!” He said with a smile, his red eyes activating now without seemingly much issue when it came to their excessive time. Those blood red eyes spinning together along with the three ink black tomoe staining the eyes almost. Toran focused on what Ise would be doing in order to get the mission done. As such he had to pay attention in order not for him to do something dumb in the process. His sharingan would facilitate that he did something that wouldn’t be dumb to the eye. Toran had this look of pure excitement on his face as he was able to actually trace the steps that his brothers were able to accomplish. Those precise yet vapid swings into the air in order to build up momentum seemingly paid off in the moment. With Toran focusing now on simply weaving his hand signs together as well in order to make this work. He had to focus now, it wasn’t about the power of his own jutsu, it was simply about trying to make sure those splinters that remained would be nothing but ashes raining down on them. So Toran as well showed what he was capable of now. His single hand weaving together Snake → Ram → Tiger in quick succession. Resulting in him casting a wide enough plume of fire that burned the wood right away after that massive dragon had showed up. Causing the flames to almost follow what the dragon had done in that moment with the air. Toran had a smile plastered on his face as he wondered just what else he could do now with those one handed signs he had under his own belt. It could easily help him in a bind if it ever came down to it at least. The small amounts of splinters that were left crumbled in the air before softly pattering to the ground like rain.

Toran landed on the ground with grace unlike someone of his supposed skill level. It was something that he had to focus on to simply get the missions done and get strong enough to actually keep up with Isemori. Currently he hadn’t even figured out what the hell that special eye pattern even was that Isemori showed to him. Yet he was curious as to what it was or what it could be for an Uchiha. He had asked his father once about it, but that only resulted in his father leaving his space without saying a word as to why that was the case. It made him upset when he was kept in the dark about things that someone who he was supposed to trust would keep. But at least they got the tree taken care of all thanks to Isemori and himself. Although those shadow clones kinda made Toran realize that Isemori could do it himself if he really wanted to.

“Another successful mission! We should totally do more of these together, Isemori!” He shouted with joy after his sharingan dissipated from his eyes. He gave a small thumbs up towards Isemori before wondering if they had indeed actually damaged anything, but from seemingly closer inspection they had done everything well enough already, besides the massive stump right in the middle. But that’s something the townsfolk or seemingly Isemori could do by themselves.

Ise knew that Toran would be able to time his fireball jutsu correctly, given that his Sharingan was able to keep up with his movements. Shortly after Ise had sheathed his katana, The older Uchiha turned towards his cousin with a grin and said, “Of course it was! And it was much easier thanks to you being here with me to get rid of the remnants of the tree,” Ise had finished, thanking his younger cousin in his own little way. When Toran mentioned that they should do some missions together sometime soon, Ise held his grin and had continued to speak.

“Well, now that ya mention it, this isn’t the only mission we were assigned to do together.” Reminding his younger cousin as he pulled out the missive slips and a pen from his jacket pocket. As Ise crossed out the correct missive with an ‘X’ over the paper, he showed Toran the other missives. “We actually have quite a few more to do.” Ise had said, continuing to grin at his cousin, showing him that was was eager to be doing missions with his little brother. “So let’s get going, yeah? The sooner we finish these missions, the quicker we get compensated for them!” The silver-haired Uchiha stated, starting to lead the way towards the city square, where they would take on their next mission together.

Toran still held his own smug smile after being complimented by Isemori. Although if anything it just meant that he could at least show that he had grown stronger during his time training. It was always nice to see Isemori and go on this type of mission journey with him. However upon noticing that there was a whole list of missions that they were going to do together Toran gave a small chuckle before nodding his head towards the older boy. Content that they were at least able to spend more time together. These D-Rank missions were child's play for Toran. It made things rather easy money wise right now. He could actually start buy his own items if he truly wished for it. He gave a small nod towards Isemori before following close behind him while walking towards the City square. Reading over his shoulder the next mission they had.

“Jeez a Minor is apparently causing some problems, looks like we’ll have to deal with some kids' own screw ups,'' Toran started with a small sigh as he didn’t like it when kids were doing stuff like that, it made him think that perhaps their home life potentially wasn’t that good or there was something going on in their lives. Causing them to act out in this way to find some semblance of comfort. Still they had a job to do, and that wouldn’t be complete by simply moping around.
