“Woah! Who’s the babe?” One man would call out.

“Don’t know, never seen her before.” Another would respond.
“Haven’t seen her around these parts before.” An older gentleman with a medal around his neck would respond.

“Eyes over here!” A woman would scream out as she pulled on a male’s arm that had been glancing over to Hikari’s direction.

“Damn, that chick is right up my alley.” A slightly older man would respond. “Tall, Blonde, perfect figure. Multi colored eyes, drop dead gorgeous, she is perfect.”



After hearing these comments, Hikari Namikaze’s cheeks would turn a deep cherry read as she would look down at her form. She was glad the Kimmono she bought was on the thicker side, so nobody would see the weight the Kunoichi had put on. Dressed in a colorful Sakura themed outfit, Hikari Namikaze had luckily found a bath house, a hair stylist, and a clothes shop that she had been able to bargain down on a price to make herself look presentable for tonight’s events. Her long golden wavy hair had been pulled up into a fashionable bun. She had been given a nice pair of sandals that would look acceptable even at the royal palace. Her blush and eye shadow was some of the best money could buy in the city. It wasn’t quite to the standard she had access to while she was back in Haven, but it was still to the point that the Akari could feel like she could be proud of her self. Still, while her appearance was gorgeous on the outside, the woman felt like on the inside she wasn’t nearly as pure or presentable as she had been 2 years ago.

Walking over to the main stage on the flier Hikari had been by the restaurant owner earlier that day, Hikari felt fairly confident in herself. She had entered a small origami contest about an hour ago right after she had been dolled up, and won first prize even though she felt like she hadn’t deserved it. Clearly their were better designs submitted, but it had been pretty obvious that the judge might have had a bit of a … well, bias, towards the Akari assassin’s charm. She hadn’t done that well with her product on that day, but Hikari had a good idea on what to do here, which gave her confidence that she was going to win here.

Walking up to the registration stand, the woman would find there to be very little line, most of the competitors having signed in hours ago. A brief wait would be all the time that was take before Hoshigakure’s Fuinjutsu Misstress of Light would be next in line. “Hello, I’m the representative for Tim’s Timely Tavern… I believe he has already paid my entrance fee and have an area set up for me.”
The man would stare closely at Hikari for a moment before looking back down at his page. “Uh…. Uh…. Uhhhh…. Yes. You have your tent set up for you. You will be at tent number 13. Do you know the rules?”

The Kunochi would nod. “You can start set up at 6 PM sharp, but you are not allowed to actually start work on your statue until 7 PM. One two by two meter slap of Senju Wood will be provided to you. You may not request a second if you damage this one. You will have two hours to complete your work on the sculpture at which point it will be graded by a panel of five judges. Whoever gets the highest score among the five judges will be the winner of the competition. Teams may enter with up to five participants on a team, but no more than 5 will be accepted…..” Haven’s final Queens guard would continue for some minutes, reciting all the rules that she had 5 minutes to skim over before coming here.

With a stamp of approval, Hikari Namikaze would be given the green light to go ahead towards her tent. Upon arriving there, the woman would find that the tent had the banner of the old man’s tavern embroidered into the fabric. Looking around, the Kunochi would find a single judge waiting in her tent to make sure she didn’t start on anything early. The Kunochi would set down her belongings and pull out a single, old, Kunai knife and would practice infusing her chakra with it until it was time for her to start the competition. At 7 she would be told to go and would start with carveing on the wood. The Military grade Senju wood was certainly difficult for her to cut through, but thanks to her chakra control she was able to do so with ease. After the two hours of hard labor, the judge called time right as Hikari put the finishing seal on her work.
Her work was revealed second to last, and the competitor that had to follow up Hikari had sure had an act to follow up. Uppon the unveiling of her statue, the seals that she had set up on the Senju wood went off as a small firework display went off behind the statue of a mother breast feeding her child. The craftsmanship behind the work was significantly better than anything the other competitors was able to make due to Hikari’s use of chakra sharpened tools rather than the basic wear that the others were using. With a loud applause, it was clear even at that point that the crowd had already decided to name Hikari the winner of the event. After the final participant (Who got nothing more than a polite clap after the Akari’s work) the judges tallied the votes, and sure enough, by an overwhelming score, Hikari had won the contest for Tim’s Timely Tavern. Making sure the statue was properly secured and transported back to the tavern owner, Hikari met with the tavern Owner who gave her the proper reward she had been promised, along with his everlasting praise. With a nod and a thank you to the business owner, Hikari would take her leave of the restaurant after taking a quick photo with the bar owner and the winning statue. Satisfied with her work, the Kunochi went to a relatively nice hotel to spend the night this time, knowing that it might be her last for a few days before gathering up the rest of her belongings the next day. Changing back into her dirty tattered travel clothes, washing off her make up and putting her hair back into a normal bun so that she would look once again like a normal Hobo, the Kunochi purchased the remaining supplies she needed for her travels in a nearby shop. Listening to a few of the patrons speak of this blonde goddess that had dominated the yearly wood carving competition, Hikari would let out a soft giggle as she would finish purchasing the supplies she needed. Collecting all the food, camping supplies, and water she needed, the Kunochi would start to step out into the spring dimension, looking for a way out. She knew that somewhere near by there had to be a portal to return back to the material plane from. It had been some journey to leave this place, but Hikari knew that her next stop would be Haven Country. Her next stop was Hoshigakure. Her next stop… finally… was home.
