Sunagakure Chunin Exam: Kota vs Yusuke

• Go all out, and do not hold back. This is the simulation arena, so your character does not risk death. But you do risk failure.
  
• A fight ends when one fighter is incapacitated, knocked unconscious, surrenders, is forced out of the ring, or dies in the simulation.
  
• Fights will spawn in at the center of the ring, and are expected to perform the seal of confrontation out of respect to another. Following this, they must each retreat 25 meters opposite of each other and towards the inside boundaries of the trench. This places each fighter 50 meters apart, and once both are this far apart an audible *ding* will ring throughout the arena indicative of the start of the match.
  
• To keep power scaling normalized, each fighter will be bound to the limitations of a D ranked character as described in the Dual Rank System
  
• At the beginning of the first post from each fighter, they must post a stat page in a spoiler and decide on their jutsu as limited in the rule above. Once posted, they are unable to use any jutsu that they didn't register in their first post. The fighters may use any and all equipment that they have on their stat page. This includes consumables, but considering the nature of the Simulation Battle Arena, the items are not consumed in real life.
  
• To maintain the flow of combat, each combatant is expected to post within 72 hours of the previous post. After this time window, combatants may request additional time yet depending on the situation, requests may be denied. If denied, or failure to request additional time after the 72 hour period is up, the opposing combatant may "hour" their opponent and assume that the combatant failed to perform an action.
  
• If clarifications are required, please reach out to your fellow genin first about their post. Let's try to avoid calling in BM's and the sort on something like this.
  
• Separate observation threads may be made, where spectators are a part of the crowd surrounding the arena. They may have no interaction with the combatants.
  

Having posted the announcements of which time slot each genin would be fighting, all would be expected to report to the Simulation Battle Arena at said time. The second of which, were Kota Apollon and Yusuke Sarutobi. Kota, a long time genin that Guren had personally seen in action. Yusuke, a newer genin who Guren had conducted an experiment on. He would be interested to see how both faired today, especially after their performances in the written portion of the exam. Guren had personally assigned himself to grading over all of the genin's written exam, and he'd be frustrated and disappointed with the answers of some. One of which he'd be proctoring today. Nevertheless he kept his composure and considered how he might respond. After bringing himself to the underground entrance to the Simulation Battle arena, he would stand patiently waiting in the middle of room 2. On each side of him were two black lounge chairs, each equipped with a headset that was tethered by cables connecting to a computer. 

Once Kota and Yusuke entered, Guren would provide the instructions. "Alright, please sit promptly in any of the four chairs in the room. Once you do so, equip the headset assigned to that chair and we will promptly begin. Please go all out and refrain from holding back. Your future as a Sunagakure Shinobi could be decided from this battle." From there, he would wait until both Genin were sitting in their respective chairs. Once they were, he'd walk over to the computer and press a few buttons and turn a few knobs. Lastly, he'd click "start" with the mouse and each fighter would be transported into the Virtual Arena. The monitor would display a number of camera angles, allowing Guren to spectate the fight completely. He would document his notes and grading throughout the fight thoroughly.

Alright remember stay calm... We can do this... Yusuke had found his way into the chair and was just about to put on the goggles. Guren had directed him to a plain room with a chair in which he sat now. He looked over himself making sure he was exactly as he wanted to be. This was his first time wearing a Yukata, but he figured it's special properties would be useful, and add a bit of elegance to his exam.

His opponent was the boy he'd met once before on the seal formation job. He didn't know much besides he had a bow and arrow and seemed like a nice guy. Luckily they were all fighting in Virtual Reality. Yusuke wouldn't have any need to hold back. There were a few stipulation to the exam though. He was limited in the number of techniques he could use of each rank, and was barred form using any of his S-rank techniques. It was strange to him. He felt like if he had more power than the others then he should just win, but He wasn't worried about it. Gotta be fair to the new genin as well... He figure if he was in their shoes he'd have been pretty happy about it. 

Alright lets not keep them waiting...Yusuke put on the goggles and everything was black before he zoned into the arena. It was fairly large. hmm lots of space to run around in... He walked forward and made the seal of confrontation locking eyes with his opponent before break that contact and retreating 25 meters towards his southern edge.

Alright Yusuke let's do this... He was ready and waiting for the match to start with a buzzer. This was his first intense spar going all out. He hoped his training would pay off.

Nerves. That was the only thing Kota could feel at the moment. It felt like a butterfly orgy was happening in his stomach. An unpleasant distraction for a man used to focusing. This could be considered the first battle Kota had to fight alone. It added more pressure than what the archer had felt in a long time.

Kota was led to a chair and informed to sit. The procedure to get ready was quick, before he knew it Kota was transferred to the field. It was not his first time using the simulation area but it never ceased to amaze  him. The weight of his quiver on his back and the feel of the bow in his left hand appeared perfectly. Kota felt like he was lacking in a lot of ways. It was funny how the archer thought he could make it up with his fighting spirit. He saw his opponent for the first time on the field. He made the seal of confrontation and slowly made his way to the starting point, his mind going through what he could remember.

The things Kota could summarize at the moment were not good. The first thing was the fact that Kota could not sense his chakra when they performed the seal together. The thought of which made the archer feel uncomfortable. As a hunter he was used to using chakra sensory more than other people. The other thing of note was Kota recalling the man having earth and fire release. The elements he learned about in the first round of the chunin exams. Going by elements and what he knew with flame being his own. He surmised that Yusuke should be dangerous to fight for long.

The archer made it to his assigned spot on the northern edge. Twenty-five meters from his starting point and fifty meters from his enemy. Kota stretched his neck and waited for the buzzer. The loud piercing screech was a dead ringer for the match to start. As soon as it did, Kota started moving forward at half his speed. He did not move at full speed to leave room to maneuver about. At any point he was ready to use hand signs or whistle.

The field was a variety but Kota found it funny that Yusuke was trying to fight on flat land. The area that Yusuke was moving towards was an edge of the field with a dry grassland. An unobstructed view was perfect for a hunter. Which is what Kota was. He was not a ninja in the sense of his training. He was an experienced hunter that was trained at birth to hunt for his survival.  If he treated the battle like a hunt instead of a fight, he believed he could do it.

Kota was calm as he moved. When Yusuke started to back away, Kota would leave a 40 meter distance, not too desperate to move in, even when the enemy was circling the edge of the field, he would also turn in a circle to match the movement as needed. Watching Yusuke hands for any seals he could recognize. He whistled at full speed [150] as he moved, activating his senses to boost his speed, preparing himself for his attack.

Going with his own limitations even as an archer. Kota decided to bring the fight to his enemy. Kota started moving in at full speed [210] knocking an arrow and firing it off to test the waters. It did not do much as it was easily dodged but it was a fun test of reaction speed. Kota rapidly got close to Yusuke when Kota was within 15 meters away and the enemy launched a fireball at him. Kota did want to take time out to create distance. At this point distance would be his enemy. Kota simply shuffled to the left to move out of the way, using his speed and quick reflexes to dodge, by mere inches and keep running.

The distance that Yusuke was making was not a lot. The archer was using his best asset against his opponent, his speed. He no longer paid the fireball any attention to himself with his eyes. He could still feel the heat of it from his empowered sense of touch. Giving him a chance to react if needed. Moving at almost 3 times the speed, Kota was able to catch up quickly. Since he had dodge left he was coming up to the left of the group. His empowered hearing and chakra senses were making it easier for him. “You know I can hear you.” Kota playfully called out.

When the explosion was triggered. Kota could feel the heat of it from his enhanced sense of touch.  His right hand would start forming necessary hand seals at full speed [210]. His bow would be filled with chakra. He did not stop till he no longer felt the heat of it about 22 meters away. His left hand would use his bow to break the air in a curved line behind him towards the trio of enemies. The air would break sending glass shards at Yusuke and his two summons. It should be enough to do some damage. Kota would not be too sure as he knocked an arrow at full speed preparing to fire at anything that moved.

Kota was faster than Yusuke expected and had outrun the explosion. It seemed he was closing the distance and was going for them. Sticking with his plan of not allowing the boy to get what he wanted, he weaved signs in both hands. His body was moving faster than his mind; he was almost in sync with the boy's sign, but he had started when the boy’s voice was heard. After three signs he sunk into the ground along with Enryu who was on the same wavelength. The two sank into the ground as a wave of air passed over them. Just narrowly avoiding a powerful attack. This would have left Enna to fend for herself if it wasn’t for the other set of signs that Yusuke had weaved and the apes' quick thinking. She had muttered something incoherent and started weaving some signs. As Yusuke sank he pin pointed her location and rose the earth beneath her in a 5 by 5 meter cube avoiding picking up kota and lifted her a few meters at [85] speed. It would have lifted her much higher but the wave of air infused with chakra shattered the platform before it rose even 3 meters. She was falling but she did so behind a continuously rising pillar of earth that rose to is full height at speed eventually reaching it’s full height of 27 meters. The invisible monkey had a 5 meter wall blocking her from kota’s view. She sharted running directly away hoping to overcome his sensory range by going to the opposite end of the arena. She was ready for anything, and so were the boys who had moved away from their previous position and were 5 meters below the ground between the fleeing Enna and Kota. Just a little longer now.. He thought.

Kota was feeling frustrated with the fact that his prey managed to escape. He could have pursued the fleeing monkey but decided against it. She was not the main target, the man he needed most was his fellow shinobi. It was nothing personal but Kota wanted to ace the exam. Kota stopped dead in his tracks when the duo sank underneath the earth, one meter from their previous location. He could still sense the monkey's chakra but he was still unable to sense where Yusuke was, the monkey had moved down by five meters but stayed still, moving away from his original position. Kota did something drastic and closed his eyes to focus. He was using his enhanced sense of hearing and touch. Focusing on the ground, Kota was listening for any sound of movement beneath the earth, and any feeling that the ground was shifting. The ruby red arrow was pointed downwards, it was fully drawn and would merely require for him to loosen his grasp to release. Like his bow Kota was strung taunt and ready to fire.

With everyone seemingly safe for now, Yusuke was ready to finally go back on the offensive. The boy had sensed that his opponent had frozen, but he wasn't sure where he had moved. Since Enryu hadn't said anything, Yusuke could assume that Kota hadn't passed over them, so he moved his hand forward in a poking motion, touching the earth he was swimming, which signaled Enryu to move forward. Enryu surged towards Kota at full speed of his jutsu, releasing hiding like a mole, to instead use rending fang after weaving the sign empower his Taijutsu with blazing flames. While Yusuke sat under the earth,  Enna had stopped running, after noticing that she wasn't being persued. Infact she forgot what she was even running for in the first place. She turned around after only making it about 10 meters and went back  over top of them towards where Kota was standing at [50] speed. She was still invisible, so she was complexly hidden. Once she was back in position, she would weave the hand signs necessary to release a puff of dark miasma as she silently got to within four meters of Kota making sure to not use the jutsu until she was that close. The cone would move at [100] speed in a cone expanding to 10 meters in width and 20 meters in length before enshrouding an area 10 meters in front of Enna in a 20m radius field of poison mist. Enryu on the other hand had pursued Kota from under ground and once he was underneath within 1 meters he would weave hand signs for minus field at A-rank setting it to debuff the targets speed and chakra right before the miasma was released. The ape would then launch from the ground directly beneath Kota at [75] speed in time with the [50] speed expanding chakra field, and attempt to punch the target with an uppercut, and follow up with a barrage of punches also at 75 speed if it made sense to do so. Enryu and Enna would both be on their toes while they engaged the target for their beloved summoner. 

Yusuke had simply waited to sense what would happen he moved closer as the events happened he was 10 meters from Enna when she released her jutsu, and he then moved out of its range, another 11 meters away, and behind the pillar angled away from the point where he had sensed Kota while beneath the earth, before deciding to pop out of the earth, peaking his head at first making sure to be careful or an attack. He would duck and avoid or possible use a jutsu if necessary. He need to wait to see what would happen with the ape's attack before moving to do much himself, but if he saw an opening he would step in to assist their assault.

Kota was primed and ready to go when he felt a shift in his senses. Senses beyond was a newer jutsu he was using. This was the first time using it in battle so he was not fully prepared for the other chakra signatures to disappear. It made Kota upset as he was deep into enemy territory. He swung his bow with the arrow still drawn. The air took on a subtle change as his jutsu expanded outwards, creating a 25 meter cube that he could use to disrupt some things, it was his main protection. The only thing he could sense was the ape that was suddenly drawing closer.

Kota could only keep his phoenix feather arrow drawn as he waited for the next move. When he sensed the chakra signature coming towards him he was already prepared to spring. As soon as it moved underneath him, Kota rolled forward a meter[100]. Kota was not aware of his opponent right in front of him at first. When he saw the gas he held his breath in reflex. Kota could see where the poison breath was exiting and fired off the ruby red arrow in his hand, right into that direction while running towards it, still seated. He reloaded without breaking a sweat, sending an arrow right behind the one that was just shot. In the direction of the first arrow.

The monkey that had aimed for him overshot it with the uppercut. The poor monkey did not regulate his power and leapt into the air. Kota would have tried to hit the airborne monkey but was too concerned with the sneaky one. He needed to correct his posture.

He could feel the changes in his body and was not happy. Kota was lucky he left himself with some wiggle room, thanks to his earlier jutsu. The release of his earlier jutsu weakened the power of the poison mist that was aiming for him, not the speed. His phoenix feather arrow was enough and lit the weakened gas on fire taking it out in the process. Kota regulated his body to get rid of the curse that was plaguing him. He was able to bring his speed back up, as well as getting rid of any negative effects of poison that was in his body. Knowing how his arrow worked he get up and changed directions instead of getting beat by his own vacuum.

Kota wanted to look for cover and figured the one that worked best would be the pillar. He flicked his sleeve and brought out a smoke pellet. Then he started to whistle necessary signs as he flung the pellet towards the pillar. Engulfing the area around it in smoke, as he reached the smoky pillar, he finished his whistling and released the wispy white smoke from his mouth. Both the smokes spread out engulfing Kota and the area of their respective jutsu. Kota would remain alert and start to move towards a new target he could now sense again.
