Bank Maintenance
Sun Jun 12, 2022 5:45 am
Mission 1
Karma was walking past the Kirigakure bank and noticed a sign on the wall outside. She took a few steps closer to the sign and saw that it said, “Help wanted Clean up crew and maintenance needed.” Karma thought to herself, “ Well money is money and I do need to get some experience with helping people when I can.” She walked inside the bank and went up to one of the bank assistants to ask about the night job needed.
Karma decided to stay till dark and learn about the tasks needed for the job. As night fell, she got ready to start. She looked around and saw that some papers and supplies were laying out. As she leaned down to pick them up and put them away she heard a sound inside the bank. Feeling as though she was being watched, she started towards a door and opened it to see if there was anyone there. No one seemed to be there, however, she couldn’t get rid of the feeling she was being watched by something.
She closed the door and looked around herself making sure there weren't more items laying about this room. As she looked around she saw a tuft of black fur on the ground and wondered where it had come from. Looking around it seemed that there were also muddy paw prints on the floor leading from the doorway to under a table in front of her. Leaning down she saw a small black baby panther that seemed to be shivering and injured on its paw. She gently and slowly reached out to the panther and pulled out some healing ointment. The panther sniffed her hand but still seemed to be cautious of her.
Leaning down more Karma reached toward the panther attempting to pick it up and heal it. The panther bit down on her arm and growled lowly in a warning. Despite the pain, Karma pulled out the panther and took a look at its paw. It appeared that the panther had gotten its paw stuck in a trap or something else that had sliced open the pads and had almost crushed its paw. Talking in a quiet and soothing voice she said,” there there, don't fuss little one, I can help if you let me.”
The panther seemed to understand her meaning if not the words she used and calmed down.
She dabbed some of the ointment on its paw and gently stroked the panther's head as she did so just to keep it calm as she worked. Being the first time she had been in this situation, She wasn't sure if she was doing this correctly. However, she had seen plenty of injury in her travels, and how different could treating an animal be from treating a human? She gently set the panther on a table clear of paper and writing utensils and continued to clean up the bank and the offices.
While she was leaving, she scooped up the panther and hurried it over to the nearest animal care center. She explained the situation to the front desk woman. She mentioned that at the moment she could not handle keeping an animal, but she could consider it once she had the funds and the skills needed to train and house one. She also asked if there was somewhere she could have the panther housed until the day she could take care of it. The desk woman said that there was an animal refuge near the village and that the panther could possibly live there until the day when Karma could take care of it. Looking excited, Karma left the panther in the hands of the animal care team and asked if they could take it to the animal refuge once it was healed.
After her exciting and unique first day, Karma walked home, Looking forward to the day when she could bond with the panther and possibly train it as a familiar. When Karma got home she cooked a lovely grilled snapper and rice for dinner and ate. After dinner, she got ready for bed and ran a bath. The whole time thinking about the panther and whether or not it would warm up to her in time or not.
