[Mission] Tea All Day

Missions:

Iesu prepared in the morning, shaved, applied some spicy fragrance and dressed into his freshly laundered tan jumpsuit. It was a color darker than his own skin, and he always made sure to wear it as a base, a layer to prevent sand from gathering beneath his clothes. On top, he chose a similarly bland-colored light beige, and some faded orange trousers. Both were loose and hid his slim form, making it hard to tell what he's capable of. Wallet with his ID, and his keys, and he was out the door. He was hoping to fatten his wallet up some, it was one of the only things motivating him this morning. He had a desire to get back to work and earn his marks as a ninja, but when the moment came for him to work, he always looked for an excuse to do something else. But short of crime, this was the only option left to him. He wished to keep his hands attached, so E-rank missions it was.

He was assigned with one other genin to help the local tea shop. The life of a civilian, calming and alluring as it was, he knew he would not be able to cope with it in the long run. He only found solace in it because he did not like the cog-in-the-wheel feeling of reporting in for monotonous tasks that any lowly genin could do, and this offered a momentary escape. Hot tea, baked goods, seeing the same old people and having the same old conversations.. he would leave that to retirement. Not that he had a plan for retirement.

Iesu arrived to the pickup location, hands set on his hips. He pulled apart the loose fabric on the collar of his shirt, and promptly pulled up a hood over his head to dampen the sun as he waited, looking around for his assigned partner.

A fierce gust of wind whipped grains of sand against Cyrus' face, causing the young lad to grimace and shield himself with his shawl. He was traveling to the starting location for his first E-rank mission; a pick-up spot for supplies, that he had been assigned to deliver to a local tea shop. The mission was not one that he would be doing alone; another genin would be with him, and he was curious about what type of person they would be. It wasn't much of a concern, he thought to himself, as long as they do their half of the work and don't make his job harder.

Today's weather wasn't too hot, but the sky was devoid of clouds and the boy winced due to the intense sunlight shining in his eyes. While he appreciated the warm weather, he cursed himself for forgetting his sunglasses at home when he embarked this morning. A desert mouse scampered across the path Cyrus was walking along, and he continued to watch as it disappeared into the horizon. After walking for a few more minutes, Cyrus arrived at the warehouse where the Monkey's Uncle's supplies were located. Immediately taking notice of another boy standing by, he quickly sized him up. A somewhat unremarkable looking person, blonde hair, slight stubble and an average build, however, he had quite the surly expression on his face. Having gathered sufficient information, Cyrus approached the young man to greet him.

"Yo, I'm guessing you're the guy I'm assigned with for this mission. I'm Cyrus, you?"

Iesu turns to Cyrus and away from the sun, pulling back his hood some to shine some light on his face "Oh, what's up. my name's Iesu. Been waiting a while. Let's head in, yeah? I think they're already ready for us." He then takes the lead and approaches where he's scouted the entrance already. It looks like they got here early and only the warehouse staff was about. Iesu calls out to the worker heading the front desk and provides his ID and mission assignment, "Yeah, we're here for the order for.. Monkey Uncle.. Monkey's Uncle? Yeah, it's on the paper."

The two are led to a space where the order was already packed, and Iesu again steps forward, picking up the majority of packed bundles of supplies. It looks like he wanted to push above his weight with no real need. But besides the first sharp inhale as he rose with the items, he seemed to carry it fine. "You got the rest." He states with a nod as he passes by Cyrus on his way out. It seems he was more than willing to carry his weight, and favored starting the work so that he could settle down and relax later.

Cyrus noted how Iesu got right to work and smirked, thinking to himself, "maybe I could get along with this guy." Following his partner's lead, he got to work on unloading the supplies as quickly as possible. The two boys worked together efficiently, carrying in the crates to the stockroom and putting them away where they belonged. The job was finished within 10 minutes. They approached the store owner together to confirm the completion of the job and collect their payment. A bearded, bald man with a bit of a gut greeted them, and seemed delighted to hear that they were already done with their work.

"Since you two are already here and you seem to be suitable workers, you wanna help out with this lunch rush for a little extra ryo? We're a mite understaffed."

The boys looked at each other and both nodded, seemingly both needing the extra cash. They were put to work in the prep and dish-washing stations, nothing that required extensive training, and their chemistry showcased heretofore carried over into the kitchen. A well oiled machine, the pair never got backed up on dirty dishes and made sure all of the ingredients were ready for the chefs to prepare on time. There were a few hiccups here and there, but all in all they worked splendidly for first-timers. After the lunch rush had ended, the two boys walked out of the establishment and said their farewells, both assuming that they would meet again sooner or late.
