Rin's route to a Ravenous Rave
Wed Jan 04, 2023 10:32 am
Rin strode down the streets of the strange town, pondering the events that had led her here, everything about this town was strange, bizare, completely out of place even... and yet try as she might to avoid them she found herself being pulled more and more bizzare occurences, the odd culture of this town mixed with the numerous visitors from throughout the world to create circumstances far stranger than anything that either one of them could create on their own; case and point was the Red, Green and gold lights that were flashing out of the windows of a massive warehouse at the end of the street.
The warehouse itself was an absurd construction, though clearly crafted from bricks and mortar the building itself had been designed and decorated in such a way that it looked like some young child's idea of a ginger bread house. The bricks had been painted over with a concrete paste that had somehow been treated to turn a mottled brown colour whilst the support beams that lined the building's outer walls were rounded polls coloured in alternating white, green, and red spirals. The doors and windows throughout the building seemed fixed in place with an egregious amount of what the towns folk had told her, in almost exactly the same tone and phrasing as they said it, was known throughout the town as "Selleys all purpose silicone sealant, won't crack, dry, or peal away." Come to think of it all of those individuals had then pocketed what appeared to be a fresh 300 ryo coin immediately afterwards, which she probably should have looked further into, but given all the other bizzare occurences within the town she had simply shrugged it off in favour of looking into other, more pertinent oddities and investigations.
Focussing back on the warehouse rin could see the building's thick wooden doors had been thrown open, the circular handles covered in a spiraling rainbow pattern that made them look more like lollypops than functional door handles, hanging loose as light poured out from the building, the pulsating colours alternating in a festive motley of colourful lights. She could hear music being played from within, a loud throbbing base and horribly artificial sound that vaugely sounded like the festive carols that she had heard the many towns folk singing in celebration as they moved from door to door in groups. Honestly the first few times she had seen that she had thought it some sort of odd religious demonstration, even now she wasn't sure if this... music? would be considered festive or blasphemous.
Deciding whatever was going on was at least worth a look she tentatively decided to sneak a look, perhaps she could uncover a lead of some sort, or at the very least perhaps she could get some entertainment out of another of this town's odd traditions.
Stepping through the warehouse doors she found herself in... a massive warehouse, which was of course no surprise; what was a surprise however was that all the warehouse's storage shelves, crates, equipment, and other similar objects had been piled in the opposite side of the building, forming some sort of absurdist's idea of what a stage would look. The platform was constructed haphazardly from a makeshift assortment of the aforementioned items, atop which sat some sort of modern looking turntable and a truely absurd number of speakers. Looking closer what looked to be a newcomer to the town stood playing with the odd looking device, the music seeming to twist and warp with whatever motions they made... at least she thought they were a newcomer, looking around at the rest of the crowd she found them all wearing similar garbs, festive Red and white shirts with their sleeves cut off; Individual's wearing mesh suits who's threads seemed to be woven from the cities traditional Red, white, and green thread. A man walked past her, his thick Red coat with a white fur lining trailing along the ground, the lining having what looked like hundreds of tiny candy canes hanging from it free for the taking.
Looking around in wonder she couldn't help but feel a little out of place. She was wearing a simple tanned leather coat with an auburn fur lining that barely peaked out around her neck. It was an old and rather in ornate thing, but it did the job of keeping the cold out so she hadn't seen a reason to change it. Underneath the fur she still wore her travel clothes, a simple plain black T-shirt, a white shirt thrown over the top for a little extra protection of her extremities. A red and black skirt trailing down from underneath a simple belt tied around her waist. She had considered purchasing some more festive clothes, there had been a gorgeous blue and pink wool scarf she had been eyeing at the markets earlier that day, but it hadn't matched any of her current attire so she had left it, making a mental note to come back at a future time and do some proper shopping.
Just then the individual who had been fiddling with the odd device at the front of the stage let out what she suspected was a cry of excitement as the music faded out for a moment, before he made a motion, seemingly in response to... whatever he had done, new music began playing. A distorted warble of music with incredibly enhanced base began blasting out from hidden speakers all throughout the building, a distorted voice barely translatable through the mess of sounds.
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you, yeah
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
Don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas Day
The song began ringing out from the speakers, Rin's head filling with a vauge sense that this would be causing traumatic flashbacks for anyone who had experience working as a food vendor or employee of a major corporation like sakura corp. Thankfully for her she had never been blessed with such an experience in her earlier life, though she had to admit she still felt an overwhelming sense of unease from the music, but she could just chalk that up to the music very much not being her cup of tea.
The music continued on, banging and echoing through building as she began to make her way through the congregation of people, the heat from all their bodies enough to make her thick coat somewhat uncomfortable. Just as she was considering shedding the heavy attire she was shocked when everyone began calling out in response to what appeared to be some sort of chorus
'Cause I just want you here tonight
OOOOOOH the crowd called out, a horrible overlaping call sounding like a combination of a dead cat, a deformed owl, a rabbid dog and a particularly petulant and pompous platypus.
Holding on to me so tight
OOOOOOOOOH the crowd called out again, as if possessed by a baleful bellicose banshee with a belligerent attitued.
What more can I do?
Oh baby, all I want for Christmas is you
You, baby
Again the crowd called out, as if possessed by an incredibly drunk hive mind, each of their replies just slightly off set from each other
YoYoUyUoU BaBaBbyaBayyby
they hollered out, all somehow enjoying themselves despite the horrible sounds they had just collectively made.
Rin could only stand there bewildered by this bizare display, unsure if this was some sort of absurd tradition of the town or if it was something brought here by the new comers to the town

Re: Rin's route to a Ravenous Rave

Smug. That is what any sane person would think as Elijah walked the snowy streets of this most interesting land.
His smile was wide. Some might argue cruel. Most would think excitement.
Those who thought both would perhaps be closer to the truth.
Others would be wary of the confident giant walking the streets of town.
Elijah was on his way to what the locals had called a 'party'.
He had been in this place long enough to know that what they considered 'parties' was perhaps a bit strange but...
Eliza had pushed for it, said she 'had a good feeling'. And where was she now?
Hiding away from the cold inside of him because she refused to figure out some form of dress that matched the weather.
Elijah, on the other hand, had decided to be a bit more adventurous than his sister. His six foot five, rather thin frame, was adorned by black khakis and black dress shoes. On his chest was, first and foremost, a white button up, with the top two buttons undone. Next came a red necktie, though it hung somewhat loosely even if pulled taut under the next piece of clothing: a red vest with four golden buttons each clasped to hold it shut. What sat on top was clothing he had never seen outside of this strange land before: a red tailcoat that could not be closed. Rather, it stayed there by sheer force of will. An extra large collar sat folded over his shoulders, and transformed into what would have been a space for buttons on the coat, if it had had any. Instead, they looked more like flaps that were folded open. A white trim went around the entire outside of this; along the edge of the collar, down the edges of the coat that seemed as if they were meant to come together, then further, until they turned to the back, tracing the outline of the coat tails, only to return back to the collar following the same route on the other side. The sleeves also ended with this white trim, and even the pockets had a small line of it.
Elijah considered it quite fluffy.
But he would feel incomplete if he had worn just that. Perhaps to a different type of party, one he cared less about being assertive and strong at.
No, he needed more. An accent piece. So that is what he found.
If this town was obsessed with red, green, and gold, he would match the theme.
Upon his back was what some would perhaps describe as a cape. To draw images of a cape to mind, however, would be folly. A feather jacket would be a more accurate way to describe it, but still far from the case, for you see it had no sleeves, nor a way to hold the opposite sides together. Regardless, it was a brilliant gold in color, and shined in a way that would make all who saw it wonder if perhaps it were coated with actual gold.
Perhaps, if one were to hold it around their body, it would serve as an adequate way to stay warm in the cold. As it stood, however, it lay resting on his shoulders. Yet it was not free to fly away. Even as a gust of wind came, Elijah walked head first into it, knowing full well the feathery thing behind him might flap in the wind, but would not leave his person. It was all part of the image you had to draw, after all.
Dominating the party was no easy task.
"We're here," he said aloud, though in hushed tones, more for his sister's sake than his.
The building was certainly interesting. Not the standard fair that the twins would walk to when expecting a party.
But they expected this much. When you wanted to hit up the rave scene, you often had to research what places were like, who knew what, etc. They learned about the rave in the destroyed academy of Sunagakure only through days of effort and the making of in-roads.
This was frankly a cake walk. For starters, it was actually legal, though some individuals had promised not all activity at the party would be.
Elijah walked in, hands in his pockets, meshing seamlessly with the ground, making his way towards the 'bathroom'. Elijah would already be in and making his trek through the people as Rin arrived and surveilled the scene. She would seem far less prepared for this than the twins had been, but they had no way or reason to know this. Rather, Elijah just continued his way to the bathroom, slipping in, and smiling as he saw the two gentlemen getting... grabby with one another in the back corner. He walked into a stall and signaled to Eliza that it was time to get out.
If Rin happened to be sensing the area around the bathroom, she would notice two identical chakra signatures appearing. One seeming to have grown out of the other.
They truly would be identical. Indistinguishable even by the most potent of sensory abilities.
Eliza would be the first to leave the stall. She was easily seen, if the two men were not enraptured by their current doings.
She work a black crop top and black shorts. Quite short shorts, as she also wore thigh high red socks, yet there was a sizable thigh gap between the top of the socks and the bottom of her shorts.
The reg thigh highs had an upper rim of a white fur-like substance, not unlike what trimmed Elizah's suit jacket.
Upon her feet were red boots, each with multiple traps, buckles, and laces. They were also heels, adding nearly four inches to her height, all included. Though that only brought her to about six foot, all told.
On her hands she wore red fish lace arm covers. Not quite gloves, but close. They wrapped around her thumbs, but neither had hands, and rather were open to the world. Above her wrist on each hand was another tuft of the white fur.
What would perhaps most set her out, not even the amount of skin showing at this otherwise... rather clothed party, would be ON her crop top. The front had a picture of a red, upside down pentagram inside a white circle. Except the pentragram was made of candy canes.
On the back was the word "Heil" in green. Immediately below it was the word "Santa" in red.
Eliza walked out into the party.
Unless something happened, Elijah would follow thirty seconds later, before the pair went their separate ways, joining the party in their own forms.
Eliza would quickly join the dancing, looking for the places with the most movement, most excitement. Close quarters. Places that would scream "danger" in the minds of her lessers.
Elijah would start his time at the party stalking the outside, looking for who his first target would be.

Hey, so same thing as your other thread, since Codex wasn't a participant in the mission, WC can't be used to claim things for them; please edit accordingly and we can go from there.
