Training Jutsu

As Lucian explained the workings of fire release, he took particular notice in how attentive Ryuko had seemed. This had been the first time so far that the other genin seemed to be interested in the abilities of Lucian. And maybe that was only because Ryuko had something to gain, more specifically something to learn. Truthfully this was fine with Lucian. And it made him feel better, more so confident in his own abilities. The young Goka genin had always heard that in order to master something, you had to spend ten thousand hours perfecting it. But in order to be good at something, you needed to be able to teach someone else. Though Lucian had not spent ten thousand hours working on fire release and its techniques, he was at least confident enough to teach a fellow genin fire release. And from the amount of interest that Ryuko expressed, he had to at least be doing a decent job. 

Following Lucian's display, Travin seemed to take the spot light. He mentioned that he would be performing the jutsu that his clan had derived. Paying close attention to the hand seals, Lucian would observe the Uchiha's every step. He went on to complete the seals, raise his hand to his mouth, and expel a fireball out towards a set of target dummies. The fireball had been massive and Lucian could feel the immense heat it carried upon being spawned. Fire techniques always interested the Goka genin the most, and so when they crashed into the dummies which triggered the sprinklers to expel the flames, Lucian rolled his eyes slightly. He'd smile after and offer Travin a reassuring nod. 

Lucian would then look over at Ryuko, who seemed to be hellbent on learning fire style. He even had spent time practicing what Lucian and Travin had taught him. After some practice Ryuko seemed to catch on rather quickly. His display of producing a small flame was impressive alone, given it had only taken him a few minutes to properly adapt his chakra for the element. Then the fact that he had even managed to expand the flame was a feat in and of itself. At this  point, Lucian offered a wider grin to Ryuko with a thumbs up. "I could never fall behind, but seriously nice job! Fire release seems tough for other people to learn, I've sort of always had an affinity for it."

It was nice to see the team working together to better their strengths. But it was almost important for Lucian to maintain some level of secrecy of his own techniques to make sure that he could keep his aces up his sleeve. If he were to ever face off against  either Ryuko or Travin, he'd want to make sure they didn't know all of his tricks. In any case though, Lucian would direct his attention back over to Travin who was now preparing to attempt the phoenix fire jutsu. Again, Lucian was impressed with the fact that it had only taken his teammate a single study of the scroll's contents and a single attempt to execute it. The small fireballs he expelled were dazzling and were well controlled by the Uchiha's intentions. They elegantly crashed into the test dummies and Travin seemed proud afterwards. Now it was Lucians' turn. He'd mimic the hand seals performed by Travin and would concentrate his chakra starting in his belly. With a deep breath he'd focus his chakra into his diaphragm, which would smoothly flow into his throat. He could feel the immense build up of the flames beginning to bellow in his mouth, and so in a quick motion he'd expel three fireballs from his mouth. Unsure of how to manipulate them, the fire balls wildly crashed into the dummies without any manipulation from Lucian. But it had been sheer luck that they crashed into the targets. Still with some residual fire chakra leftover, he'd shoot out three more fireballs. This time, he concentrated on the chakra he had emit from his mouth. And with some focus, he was able to alter their trajectory so that their orientation bent downwards crashing right into the torsos of the dummies. 

And just like that, Lucian had completed the jutsu. His reaction had been rather calm, slightly frustrated that he could not manipulate the flames in his first go around. But still, he was satisfied enough with his second attempt. After doing so, he'd offer a quick visual exchange to Ryuko and Travin. Following this came a nod. He was starting to see each as equals, and motivators to keep him strong. 

"Yo guys...this is random, but have either of you been assigned a genin team? If not...we should team up. I think we could seriously grow strong if we have each other's backs..."

Travin watched as Ryuko focused and practiced fire release. Even growing a flame of decent proportion as Travin watched within a matter of minutes of practice. It was clear to Travin that Ryuko was cut from the same cloth that Lucian and himself was from. Even giving a nod when Lucian gave Ryuko credit saying that fire release normally took people a little while to get the hang of due to how loose and uncontrollable it was, and gave a smile to Ryuko who for the first time acknowledged both Lucian and himself. Granted it was not high praise but for all the time that Travin had known Ryuko which wasn’t that long, it was about as good as it got from him.

Lucian then stepped up to the target line and aimed at the dummies to fire his attempt at the target dummies. He didn’t have the same level of control over the fire like Travin did, but he quickly got the hang of it with his second attempt. Travin had always been strong with his fire release jutsu, but part of that was from his clan. Fire release ran strong throughout the Uchiha clan, and while not every member of the clan used fire release, it was very prominent in his clan. He then listened as Lucian asked his question on whether or not they had all been assigned a genin team or not. Something that Travin had been hoping for, and figured that, that is kind of what they were doing. If the village was not going to do it, why couldn’t they just pick who they worked with. “I have not been assigned to a team, and I don’t see why the three of us couldn’t become a team. After all, we have been working together for a few weeks now, and they are giving the three of us missions.” Travin would tell the other two, he hoped that they both felt the same. Knowing that if they were to become a team they would probably be the strongest team in Kumo. Outside of the Storm Operatives that is, and given enough time Travin had no doubt that they would become stronger than they were.

For now he would wait and see what Ryuko thought of the idea as well. Before asking Lucian to show him that ninjutsu amp he knew, and maybe seeing if Ryuko would teach him lightning release.

This feeling...it was different that pride or a sense of accomplishment. Not a feeling he was not used to certainly but it came different than what he was normally used to whenever he had found something new to add to his repertoire of impressiveness. The praise he had received from the others had been different because it wasn't something that he had gotten from a teacher or family. No it was something about it being from peers, people that he actively competed with and strove to constantly one up that had made it something special. Maybe he had made new friends where he originally wasn't trying to but that did not meant he as going to stop there, no he would continue to learn and push higher through the sky. With the addition of Fire Release to his arsenal he had began to think upon a conversation with his parents about something that his clan could do, something they unfortunately never could. As he knew it they were the only Akari that they knew of that had never strove to unlock the Goldeneye and even more the power of Light Release. Only recently he had unlocked the powerful eye though he had not spoken to his parents of it yet...no he would wait until he had mastered the eye itself and soon the next step. Sitting down for a moment he would cross his legs and begin to ponder on the conversation and how they had explained it to him. The release had been strong, enough to blind and subterfuge entire cells due to its luminary prowess, but what made it. He dove deeper into his memories, pushing himself to remember exactly how it was explained. Deeper...Deeper. The memory had been there but he had to continually dig deeper.

The more he dug the more he physically looked perturbed because everything came easy to him, but this...this was proving to be tricky. It took him a few minutes but he had at long last found the memory. They were talking about their clan and where they had came from when they had brought up the mention of Light Release. They had mentioned for one to truly grow as a Akari they must first unlock their Goldeneye. He had already done that. The next thing one would need were both the abilities of Lightning and Fire. He had just obtained it. The last was to bring both into a harmony that would ignite the light within them and bring forth a light that could never be extinguished. That...he didn't understand until now. Taking in a deep breathe he had remembered the feeling of fire within his body. The concept of lightning raging and storming within both mind and body. This light...what would it be for him? His parents could never explain it to him when he had asked because they had never wanted to push past that point. They thought when it was time it would come to their young genius naturally. That he would just stumble about it and finally be the first in a long time to achieve it. They knew their son well because Ryuko had never given up on a challenge no matter what it had been. Taking in a deep breathe he would build both elements within his body on different sides of himself, Fire on the right and Lightning on the left. In the middle however he would leave a void, a filling that he would slowly bring each element over before swirling them together. To create something new he would have to think outside of the box, to show that he was indeed the Blue Star that he had proclaimed and lived throughout his entire life.

Silence befell on his mind and body as he blocked everything out and continued to bring the elements together, at first he could feel every pore and cell in his body igniting as if this was a forbidden union but he would not give up on this. He could not. It took him moments, hours within the confines of his mind but on the outside probably minutes before the combustion of power within his body erupted before coming to a standstill. He felt...different yet the same. As he opened his eyes and they began to glow a luminescent blue. He could feel the chakra within his eyes though since he could not see it he knew how to rectify this. Standing up he would reach into his back pouch and pull out a kunai in which he would use its reflective surface to look at his eyes. They were different. He remembered being told that his eyes would glow..well gold to symbolize the GoldenEye hence its name but his were...blue. Had this been something different? Unique to him only? So many questions were given, but he knew only one answer. This was his sign, no his ordainment to see that he was the one true Blue Star of Kumo. This would be his calling card as he smiled and tucked the kunai away safely back into the pouch as he nodded to himself," This is only the beginning...I'll have to continue to train these abilities, but nothing will stop me now," though as he said that he could feel the eyes deactivating returning to his normal blue eyes with his unusual white pupil. Looking to the others when the question was asked, since he had just finished being inside of his own head before acknowledging the two," A genin cell huh? Hmm... I acknowledge you two as equals and rivals in this life so why not... I could use more friends...and comrades in making sure this village always rises to greatness," It was such an over the top answer, but one only befitting Ryuko. Today he had gained a lot from this interaction and maybe he was finally opening up to people. The two before him were not seen as nuisances but instead eternal rivals and friends now.

And so it had been decided.

The three individual members were officially a trio. Maybe not by Kumogakure organizational standards, but at least in their own eyes. And to Lucian, this carried some weight. Even if they would be later assigned different teams, the fact that each member had come together out of respect for another and sought to ally themselves was symbolic of respect. Up until this point Travin and Lucian had already maintained a relationship like this. One that was built upon competition and camaradereie. But now, Ryuko would be in the mix as well. And as a three man cell, there were no telling what they'd be capable of individually and collectively.

The Goka's face shifted into one of determination once more, and he'd raise both hands to about chest height and punch one closed fist into the other's open palm. The palm's fingers would curl down to grip his fist, and from the impact of the hands meeting a loud clap echoed throughout the room. "Alright! Then it's settled!" Lucian would announcement. He'd quickly lower his land hand to his side, and raise his right so that it offered Travin and Ryuko a thumbs up.

"Now then, since all of us use Ninjutsu I think that one technique you mentioned would benefit each of us. Ninjutsu Amplifier! Like the name suggests, it can be used to empower one of our Ninjutsu techniques so that it reaches new heights. In it's simplest form, it only requires two hand seals. And in one of its more advanced stages, it demands three more. But realistically you can't use the technique by itself if there's nothing to amplify, and so you'll need to pair it with something to compliment!"

Lucian would cease his explanation and start to form four hand seals belonging to the Searing Migraine technique. Following this, he'd expel a small fireball (2 feet in diameter) from his mouth which would travel the few meters across the room and collide into the training dummies. Right after, a sizeable fire storm would erupt on top of the training dummies. When the storm subsided, Ryuko and Travin could easily see moderate burn marks on the dummies.

"So that was the base technique, Searing Migraine. Now if I amplify it, pay attention to how much more chakra the technique has and how much more damage output it produces."

Lucian would go on to repeat the hand seals for Searing Migraine, but as he inhaled to perform the technique he also produced five more hand seals to amplify it. Immediately after this, he'd expel the same size fireball which would roar through the air and collide into the dummies. This time, after the fire storm dissipated the dummies were entirely scorch from the intensity of the flames. Although the difference between the first and second display were difficult to visually observe, the heat exuded from the fire ball as well as the damage applied to the dummies were both unmistakable. 

"Now, could you guys tell a difference between the first and second time I used Searing Migraine?"

Travin was ecstatic to hear that Kyuko was also interested and willing to join up as a team. The first goal he had ever set for himself had come true. For him it wouldn’t matter if Kumo put them in a team or not officially, he had found his own team, and he knew from this point on that their friendship, rivalry, or team however it ended up evolving would only grow stronger from this point. Their names would spread out across the entire world and every shinobi of every village knew their names. Travin was snapped back into reality once Lucian started to explain the ninjutsu amp tech. It was one that he needed to learn, as most of his more powerful jutsu was genjutsu. He needed a way to make sure that once his ninjutsu hit, it finished the fight. Listening to Lucian explain the way the jutsu functioned it seemed pretty simple. With his now fully mastered Sharingan active as he watched Lucian demonstrate his Searing Migraine jutsu without the amp, and then once more with the amp. Travin felt confident he would not only be able to perform the ninjutsu amp, but also Lucians own jutsu as well. Once he had mastered his new eyes, Travin noticed that he was able to copy people’s jutsu, and what better time to try his new talents out than on his new teammates.

Taking a step up his Sharingan is clearly active, and clearly at the three tomoe state now to his new teammates. Travin stepped up to the line facing the target dummies down on the other end of the training room they were currently in. performing the hand seals that Lucian had performed while mimicking the way his chakra flowed into his jutsu. Tiger, Boar, Dog, Dragon, Rat, Rat, Dog, Tiger, Rat before a fireball shot out of his mouth and flew down the field striking the target dummies before exploding into a massive firestorm. “Well with my Sharingan now mastered it’s pretty easy learning how to do jutsu, once i see someone else do it” Travin would say with a smile as he looked over to Lucian. He didn’t know how long it had taken Lucian to pick up on the jutsu or the ninjutsu amp tech, he was pretty sure it took longer than simply watching the tech be performed once.

Travin would wait and see how Ryuko could handle the tech. Once he had gotten his turn at Travin would look at the other two “Anything else you guys need to practice, or should we call it a day here” Travin would ask the other two. He wasn’t sure if they had more jutsu to learn as he was always up to learn more jutsu, or if they had hit their limit for what they could share as well.

So it was decided. His first genin cell and it was with people he could actually work with. He had been curious as to how this would go from here but he was not worried about the future honestly because it was as bright as he had shined. Returning the thumbs up to Lucian they would go back to training and showing each other techniques that could prove useful to them once they had learned them. Ryuko sat and watched Lucian's display of a regular fire technique on its own and then as he demonstrated a technique known as the Ninjutsu Amplifier technique, he would be able to see the nuances of the technique and how it made the Searing Migraine technique stronger. It would seem that by applying more chakra to the technique one could bolster and make it even stronger. It was a curious method to it but not one that couldn't benefit the Akari later down the line. The thought for the moment would remain within his mind for now until he had fully fleshed out the idea and tried it for himself.

Since that was neither here nor there he would let his hair back down since he was personally done training for the day. Looking to see what the other two would do, Ryuko would tuck his hands behind his head and shrug as best he could," Don't know about you two but I am starving right now. We cab call it here and meet back here tomorrow for our first official team meeting. No slacking you two," he would say of course as he turned on his heels and began to leave the facility if nothing else was needed of him. It felt good to finally have people he could depend on and even better to have a team. Now there was nothing that could stop this star from rising. Nothing at all.

Lucian would laugh off the dismissal from Travin's sharingan. It seemed to make things much easier for his friend, which was good for him but bad for Lucian. For people like Lucian and Ryuko, they'd have to pay closer attention than what an Uchiha would. But this sort of difference was exciting, as it meant that the Goka genin would just need to outwork Travin. But in any case it seemed like everyone had sort of agreed that they were at a good stopping point. And so, Lucian would agree and exhale a deep breath of relief. He had been somewhat tired since he started his training early in the morning and continued with his newfound cell. But after doing so, he'd boast a convincing smile towards Ryuko and Travin.

"Good work today boys. Let's make this a regular thing. I'm sure you both need it more than I do!"

Following this, Lucian would depart from the training room and start to head off for home. He had supper waiting on him.

Travin watched as everyone settled back down into their norms after their practice he could tell that everyone including himself was starting to get tired from all the hard work they had put in for the day. With everyone saying their goodbyes and agreeing to meet up again tomorrow to get more training done, and make it their first official team meeting. Travin was excited and couldn’t wait to get back home to tell his mom that he had finally gotten a team of shinobi, and that they were not weak. It was not something that he ever really worried about, but at the same time he didn’t really want to have to carry other genin through missions either.

With everyone leaving the room Travin would head back home, and get some food from the new KFC restaurant to take back home for his family.
