Re: Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil

A moment of silence, lasted longer than infinite yet was over just as quickly as it seemed to last. A world without sound was a strange one in many versions of the word, when you are born to the world you hear everything around you. Your mother’s labored breathing, the doctor’s voice, nurses moving around and various medical instruments being handled. As you age you learn more about these sources of sound and what they belong to, the sound of a cat hissing at another as they fight over food or possibly a mate, the sound of a dog barking in the distance as it spies someone to close to its home warning the thing it has sighted to stay away from its home, the birds chirping in the trees calling out to their family and looking for a mate itself, the crickets in the grass doing the same thing with their steady and consistent sounds. So many sounds and so many things to learn about, so what happens when you take away those things? What happens when the world filled with noise from the start to the end with only brief moments of small gasps of silences becomes consumed by that silence fully?
It forces you to focus not on the world even though that is what you will do in the beginning you will sit there and strain your hearing for any kind of noise, looking for that comfort your body was so use to of the constant and consistent noise no matter how minor it could be, you hoped for the sound of bugs crawling on the ground or walls, maybe a bat hanging from the ceiling moving about as it got ready for some sleep, just anything that could and would make a noise but it wasn’t there. Nothing, a world of silence, so you listen but are unsure of what you are listening for at this point and that is when you will start hearing a new source of sounds, the beating of your heart, the breathing of air into and exhaling out of your lungs, a whooshing sound, and with time even the subtle sound of your own blood moving through your veins like a pump pushing and pulling water through a pipe. That can be overwhelming in its own right, so many new sounds and they are all coming from you, the growling of your stomach but on a scale it is almost as if you could hear the very acid in your gut devouring the remains of your morning meal.
A symphony of sounds that your body creates every day, on a continuous routine with no end in sight beyond that which comes from the natural ending of life itself. It was frightening, but liberating. To Crom it was as if learning that no matter what happened he would always have music and sounds, no matter how minor and how dire the world around him might be, himself could and would still be something he could listen too. Sound was a simple medium, they were vibrations of the world transmitting themselves to others, it was why even if you covered your ears you could still feel the music being played it was nearly impossible to stop sound for penetrating your body. Crom felt that was why it seemed that music could bring so many people together as it wasn’t something that you only listened to with your mind but something that you felt deep in the core of yourself.
These were the things that Crom experienced while inside that Chamber and it seemed that when he left that the others had experienced similar things on a varying scale. At the end of the experience it was time to move onto the final task of the day, with this it seemed that Zidane was breaking the vow of silence to give direction to the group to head to the training center to finish up the day. Crom followed along keeping to his silence and taking in the world around him with the rush of sound once more. Such a new take on the world he had been living in for so many years. It was overwhelming to go from intense silence to now all the sounds coming back at once, but it was comforting and relaxing.
His fingers itched to play his guitar that had sadly ended its time, he knew he could probably take it to be repaired but it would be simply putting a band-aid on a open chest wound. It was simply time to get a new instrument and retire his old one, maybe he would have it recycled into something new to keep its use still apparent but that was for another day and he needed to focus on what they were doing today. The arrival at the training center of the group was uneventful and silent for the most part, they made their way over to the instructor that would be teaching them how to proper use Sound Release. A special type of chakra usage that allowed one to use the very vibration of sound to make their reality a real thing upon the world. The instructor asked them if any played any instruments and of course Crom rose his hand and mimicked playing a guitar, to which the instructor picked up one of the many practice ones and demonstrated how to utilize the instrument with Sound Release. Crom watched as the man channeled chakra into his fingers and into the very strings that he plucked as he caused a massive shockwave to come from the notes being played.
It was quite interesting to see how easy it was to use the Release, it was something that Crom had been using subconsciously when he played at concerts so that his voice projected better across the crowd and reached more people, so this was something that came pretty naturally to the Orochi clansmen. That didn’t mean that he had a perfect hand at it and with some time and effort he was able to replicate what the instructor taught. It seemed it was quite a useful thing for the aspiring musician. Once the training was complete and they had successfully passed it was time to part ways with the others. While he knew he was allowed to speak Crom wanted to continue the vow of silence for the remainder of the day and signed as much in sign language making sure to go slowly for Soma to make sure they would be able to understand what was going on. Parting ways from the group and heading back home with his new guitar that he was allowed to have after completing the last task Crom strummed a new song as he started to create a song based of his experiences today already mentally writing the lyrics.
