Memories of the Future-- the shadow the stars cast

Zeo had to take a long haitus from his time since his failed events in the Nova exam. while that shame still clung to his soul, and after time in the events in that unexpected mission when he saved Hoshi from a spirit attack (pending mission story) . Now after he had endured, learned and grown... he was trying to brush up on the basics and soon re-enter taking on missions. However, he did his best work in one place. Studying. He was in the massive library of Hoshigakure again, which had become a whole archive with more books than anywhere else in the world. Including special jutsu as well as records, decoding methods, history and other important details. Zeo was determined to learn all he could...

But he never found one thing he hoped to learn. More about his ancestry. Even the books that recorded special kekkei genkai, bloodline traits and clan traits-- none held anything regarding his clan. At least, beyond what was added by Zeo's own account. He knew that the heads of Hoshigakure, the Hogokage especially, were aware of his new bloodline trait abilities to a degree. He didn't disclose it all, but yasha knew a little and displayed some during the Chunin exams. But he was eager to learn more about obscure blood line traits. He would constantly keep seeing the history of the Sharigan, the Byakkugan-- and the Rinnegan. All originating from the sage of six paths. As they were rumored toi be the most powerful, it was no wonder so much abundance of knowledge was stored on them. But still, the interest of them didn't really grasp Zeo's interest. When he was in the exams, he fought an exam member-- who had the Sharigan. The moment he saw it, he knew what to do and obscured himself. Doujutsu like those, had clear flaws that gave one to act on.

It was a rule he knew. No jutsu was invincible. Even his Persona had limits, and so did he know his Uchugan had flaws too. And yet, despite how far his eyes grew, gaining power every day... he struggled to control them. Especially now that he awakened the Galaxy Uchugan. (teaser for later)

So now, he was brushing up on his jutsu and other things. However. he longed to go in one place... but a place he couldn't acess... only reserved to the elite or Nova Corp.

The restricted section. A whole archive containing powerful, coveted and amazing jutsu. Sure, Zeo was proud of the jutsu he invented or learned himself, but that place allowed far more range of techniques he could just sign out on his own. His thirst for knowledge was strong.

Unfortunately, the company he kept wasn't as grateful for that trait....

"Are we done yet..." a voice whined-- sounding like that of a grumpy dog wanting a meal.

Zeo didn't pay attention as he was digging through a book of 'history of waves-- the renown ninjas of the Mist" to learn more about water jutsu. Grumpy, the voice spoke up again. "HEY! Don't ignore me! COme on, this place is driving me crazy!"

Zeo sighed as the sound of his 'new companion' got on his nerves. He was now haunted by the spirit of a rather grumpy, cynical and short-tempered wolf spirit. The giant black wolf sat on all fours , on his belly as he rolled around impatient. Despite this library being a blend of ruins, nature and trees-- the wolf had grown impatient just being there waiting on Zeo.

"Omega, I told you... I needed to come to the library to study. If you are so eager to getout of here, you can wander if you want. Nothing is stopping you." Zeo replied without taking his eyes off the book.

However, Zeo was unaware of how late it was. "YOu been here for almost 6 hours, its night time and I'm Freaking hungry. I could die of hunger. COme on lets just go!" the wolf spirit replied.

Zeo looked up, his face twisted with the claim. "You're dead already, technically. You don't eat," he corrected sharply.

"Oooh, you really ARE smart, aren't you?" the wolf replied sarcastically.

It was clear the wolf was just bored watching Zeo-- but they were bound by contract and he made a promise to protect Zeo-- one of the last known Kamigawa, by people who were unknown. Worst of all, Zeo was the only one who could see Omega-- at least without the assistance of chakra to make him materialize. So now he had his own guardian spectre keeping a watch on him-- and heckling him.

No one else was around and it was now night, the lamps keeping lit in the building but the outside windows and terraces were dark with the moonlight shining in. A heavy sigh escaped Zeo as he realized how he was probably the only one left. Looking over the books, he began to pack it up. "Fine... I guess I did overindulge a bit with all this reading. I can pick it up tomorrow." Zeo admitted, taking the book he was reading with him.

"About time. " Omega replied as he finally sat up from the floor. "Listen pup, you gotta take better care of yourself, damnit! Last thing I wanna see is you joining the afterlife just because you forgot to take freaking meal breaks! Death by hunger... that's a fun way for a shinobi to die. "

Zeo rolled his eyes at the wolf's cracks, and slowly began to make his way out from that area of the library. He however was not aware that anyone else was there...

Ayato's appearance was as silent as a shadow, a testament to his years of honed ninja skill. He found himself drawn to the library, drawn by an unexplainable feeling as if a whisper in the wind had called him to this particular place at this particular time. The library, a realm of ancient knowledge and history, held a special place in the Kage's heart, for it was here that he, too, had sought refuge and enlightenment during his formative years.

He sensed a presence as he stepped through the threshold and into the moonlit sanctum of books. His acute senses detected a whisper of conversation, an exchange of words carried softly through the hallowed halls of books. By a well-lit section, he saw Zeo, engrossed in conversation with a spectral wolf spirit, Omega.

His arrival was unannounced, and he stood there momentarily, observing the young ninja and his ghostly companion. Ayato had always been attuned to the energies around him, and this unanticipated meeting felt meaningful. The Kage's gaze, under the dim moonlight, held a quiet wisdom, a recognition of the deep bond that had formed between Zeo and his spectral guardian. He knew, without a doubt, that there was more to this encounter than met the eye.

With measured steps, Ayato approached them, a silent shadow in the moonlit library. He didn't wish to interrupt their discourse but rather stood there, a quiet presence, ready to lend his wisdom if sought or to observe the burgeoning ninja on his quest for knowledge. The library, where past and present met in a dance of knowledge, held countless stories, and Ayato wondered if this chance encounter was another tale waiting to be told.

"Knowledge, they say, is a journey without end. It's admirable to see one so dedicated to the path of learning,," Ayato remarked, his tone carrying the weight of experience as if echoing the countless scholars who had sought wisdom in these aisles throughout history.

Ayato's presence lingered in the moonlit library, where Zeo conversed with Omega, the spectral wolf companion. Unresponsive to Ayato's quiet observation, the young Chuunin remained absorbed in his discourse.

Respecting the sanctity of the library, Ayato chose not to intrude further. He gracefully withdrew with a nod to the ethereal duo, leaving Zeo deep in thought amidst the ancient tomes.

As Ayato departed, the moonlight illuminated the serene library—a bastion of knowledge. The silent guardian, now in the care of Zeo and his spectral companion, awaited the next chapter in their journey amid dusty shelves and the soft rustle of turning pages.
