Memories

Memories are a tricky thing you see. In a world like this they are never fully concrete. You never know when something you remember is truly an illusion. A Genjutsu casted over you as you were left unaware of what the truth of reality actually is. Yaijōrama’s memory, at least to him, was near perfect. He could remember things all the way back from when he was five and oftentimes that was more a burden than a curse. He remembered how his mother would sing to him songs from her childhood in order to get him to stop crying when he was younger. Or how she would braid his long hair whenever he asked her to. Better yet he remembered her smile, how bright it shined and how it could light up any room.

But that light was gone and had been gone for five years now.

Yaijōrama stood in her favorite spot on the farm. On top of the barn overlooking the modest farm they had here. You could see the mountains from here, the walls of the village, and even the Academy. But that wasn’t why this was her favorite spot. It gave her a view of their families work, the accomplishments they had achieved over a short period of time. These memories hurt as Yaijōrama looked upon the farm. Tears started to swell at her memory. She was gone and there was no bringing her back. No matter how much Yaijōrama prayed to the Sage of Six Paths, she wasn’t going to return.

And so he just cried… Standing in her favorite spot, wallowing in her memory.
