Sato Hibiki - First step into the clouds

E-Rank Mission That's My Purse! I Don't Know You!
Hibiki had heard stories of the local fauna snatching food or shiny objects from the villagers in the past yet he had never heard of a vulture having stolen a purse before and so he vaguely wondered what a vulture could possibly want with one. Hibiki consider many options as he made his way into the mountain cliffs and up the small tracks puzzling over possible reasons. In the end he simply decided the vulture probably thought it had food inside. Regardless the vulture was either very intelligent or very stupid and Hibiki hoped it was the latter. Eventually he came to the bottom of a particularly steep cliff and raised his hands to shield his eyes slightly as he gazed into the sky, seeking out the vulture’s nest.
After several minutes he spotted a figure soaring high before gliding down onto the cliff face before shortly departing again. ”I hope that’s the one I’m looking for.” Hibiki began the long climb moving a hand then a foot and ensuring his holds were secure before looking for the next. After an hour he found himself on a wide ledge and caught his breath whilst shaking his aching arms and legs. He took a sip of water from his waterskin and chewed on some dried beef he had stolen from the kitchen before leaving. Hibiki was sure that his mother would be too shocked from today’s story to care and would likely try to ground him. Having none of the skills of a shinobi meant his family could do little to stop him leaving and would often discover too late he had used a clone and slipped away. Hibiki had often argued about his chosen path and had bravely declared he was leaving home on several occasions. He always returned after a day or two and his mother was always waiting with a warm meal, a hug and the next day a lecture.
Hibiki looked to the sun and realised it was mid-morning, another glance up the cliff before him and he calculated at his current rate he wouldn’t get to the nest until the afternoon. That wood mean he might not be able to descend until it was dark and this was not a prospects that he relished. Hibiki could deal with being hungry or cold btu he had no wish to do both whilst stuck on a cliff’s ledge. If he wanted to get the job done quickly, he knew he would have to take some risks. “Well it works most the time. Just don’t look down. That’s the trick”
He took a few steadying breaths and closed his eyes as he felt the chakra flow through his body focusing on his hands and feet in order to create a denser pool like build ups of chakra. After a few minutes of testing he felt more confident and carefully tested his hands and feet on the ledge before slowly moving his hands up the wall and ensuring they stuck fast before eventually following with his feet in and odd crawling like motion.
He continued this way for perhaps an hour before he slowly gained in confidence and finally let go with his hands, trusting his feet to hold him firm on the craggy stone surface. His steps began slowly but he soon gained confidence and smiled as he looked at the strange view of the world he now had, picturing himself running along a flat rock plateau. Once he gained his confidence he reached the top of the cliff quickly but was careful to remind himself that should he slip he would fall straight down, potentially to his death.
Hibiki reached the nest itself as the sun reached its zenith and he could feel the heat radiating from the rock beneath his feet. Inside the nest were several small chicks that screeched hungrily at him as his shadow covered the nest. He quickly spotted the pecked and clawed purse that was surely the one that was stolen and placed it in his pouch, making sure it had remained securely shut. Hibiki smiled and let out a cheer of success as a large shadow loomed overhead and he yelped as he managed to just miss a pair of claws swiping the air. “Time to go I think, don’t steal anymore purses!
Hibiki decided to be a little reckless as he leaned back against the cliff and hovered his hands on the surface of the rock before allowing the chakra control in his feet to recede very slightly allowing him to steadily begin sliding. He laughed as he slowly picked up speed and enjoyed the rush of air the view of the village in the distance. His laughter died quickly as he realised he was approaching the ledge he had stopped at quickly. Too fast in fact. He placed his hands on the cliff and steadily increased the chakra flow to slow his descent, gritting his teeth and wincing has several layers of skin on his hands began to scrape off leaving a tiny trail of spattered blood. He came to a stop several feet from the ledge and stopped to blow on his hands and fold them under his armpits as he hissed in pain. "Well that could have been a lot better…". He looked further down to the side of the ledge and swallowed a lump in his throat. "or worse."
The rest of journey went well with Hibiki running down the cliff but being careful not to move too quickly and stumble on his way down. His parents would never be able to ground him now, not when he would sneak past them on the ceilings! Hibiki headed to the office to hand in the purse and collect his Ryo with a large grin on his face. “That’s my first ever mission completed!” He looked around and pulled out a small plank of wood he had been whittling down for his puppets. “Do you mind stamping this? I want a memento for my first successful mission.” The clerk shinobi looked at the student and smiled. “Sure thing kid, just don’t let it go to your head. It takes more than finding lost purses to make a Kumogakure ninja”. The older shinobi quickly stamped the small plank of wood and smiled again, gesturing for him to leave and Hibiki hastily complied. He held the stamped plank reverently and returned it safely into his pouch before practically dancing his way home. He stopped on the way to pick up some particularly good looking twigs and began to chew one. On his way home he took every available opportunity to test out his new wall walking skills and even curiously eyed up a pond but shook his head. Hibiki decided to try walking on water another time. It was getting late and he had no desire to arrive home soaking wet as well as having bloodied hands.
