Grandma needs a new Katana (Missions)

Den could now only slightly detect the shift in the woman's chakra, its palpable nature shifting from calming to that of anxiety. Had she been more guarded with her emotions he wouldn't be able to detect it now that he couldn't maintain his mind's eye technique.

Den remained at the doorway as Junko responded. He was a bit disappointed that she didn't seem to know how they got into each other's dreams, and also that he hadn't been able to maintain the Mind's eye for a moment longer to detect if she was deceiving him about that admission. He remembered her mentioning wanting to meet him in the real world when they met and asking if he was real, but he supposed the nature of her dream could have led her to say things like that.

He was a bit surprised about her comment about his looks, especially considering the monstrous form he had taken in the dream they had met. He personally found the form to be hideous but he now had to admit that it must appeal to some people. As for the comments about herself, Den could only remark on the form he had seen within the dream. Given how most of the men had reacted around her throughout the day Den imagined that Junko was more than likely beautiful in the real world but he didn't know for certain how much her appearance matched up with the dreams. She had been quite stunning in the dream, as he had lost control of himself he had found himself drawn to her.

He was a bit ashamed of himself as he listened to her words towards him, about how she was disturbed by him trying to attack her before they had awoken from the dream.

"I'm not entirely sure why but within the dream I wasn't able to control my chakra properly. There's an affliction I possess that would normally alter my mind but it hasn't affected me in years. I've honestly never had an outburst as bad as the one within that dream.

If you didn't invade my dream then I wonder what drew us together. I had heard some tales of the nightmare monsters that had roamed the world months ago but had thought I had eluded them. Strange that they would manage to ensnare two people so far away from each other within the same dream."

As he finished the last sentence a thought immediately dawned on him, that perhaps she had been in the area and he had been dreaming of Tengakure when the nightmare creatures had assaulted them. Yin chakra was often a symbolic and imaginative thing, and he guessed that perhaps the nightmare creatures could be of that nature.

Relief washed over her as he informed her about the outburst in the dream. She was happy to hear that she would potentially never have to deal with that again. Most of the tension and anxiety that swirled within her eased and she sat up more on the edge of the bed, now allowing her feet to dangle off the side. For a few moments she pondered was to why they would be put in each others dreams, but suddenly shook her head and laid down on the bed. While starring up at the ceiling she would pat the bed beside her, beckoning him to join her. Weather he sat beside her or not Junko would say..

"I'm going to be honest, only recently have I been training, and working on my skills. So I don't have much experience dealing with things like this, but I don't think it's a bad thing. Maybe we were meant to meet, or simply by chance. Who's to say really?"

She couldn't help but feel like it was something that would happen in a book, and she immediately became a little flustered. They hadn't even discussed the fact that they had kissed, and already she felt like she was making him uncomfortable. If he decided to sit with her, after finishing talking she would slowly sit up and turn to look at him.

"If you'd like me to I can go back to my home, I wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable. It's only a few miles away from here, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal for me."

Den was surprised by how nonchalant the woman started acting after he told her she didn't have to worry about him losing control again. He sensed her climb further into the bed, seeming to get comfortable as he stood at the doorway. He heard the sound of her hand patting the bed next to where she was lying and realized she wanted him to come over.  Den had thought it would be harder to gain her trust but she seemed to be quite willing to believe him. A part of Den was concerned by how kind she was treating him but the former Tenkage decided that he was just being paranoid, if this woman had meant him to harm she could have tried to have taken him out earlier.

Moving over to sit next to her on the bed he listened as she explained that she had only recently started training and that she wasn't too knowledgeable about this sort of thing. Den was only somewhat surprised by this. He had seen many prodigies in his day, so to hear that the woman had amassed so much chakra in a short time only took him aback slightly.

Den smirked as the woman remarked that perhaps they were meant to meet. Den didn't believe in fate unless one considered the meddling of outside forces to be that. The closest belief he had to that concept was that the chakra of some powerful beings still influenced the world, but he doubted they would have any interest in him.

Junko sat up slightly in the bed and spoke some more, telling Den that if he felt uncomfortable she could leave. While Den knew that it would be wise to avoid being around someone so powerful he found himself wanting her to stay.

"No, it's alright. If you wouldn't mind, I would like to spend some more time with you. To try and figure out why we ended up in each other's dreams."

If Junko decided to stay Den would stand up and start to get ready for bed, still willing to talk but wanting to get comfortable. After finishing his preparations he would get into bed with Junko, noticing quickly that the bed wasn't quite the right size for two people.

She couldn't help but smile as Takehiko assured her that her presence was welcome and she began getting ready for bed. Junko tried keeping the conversation light as they spoke throughout the night. If he was interested she would tell him of her travels. How she dreamed of being a musician and wanted to help the world someday. She seemed sort of like an idealist but didn't reveal her reason as to why quiet yet. She still didn't know what to think of the man, but she couldn't help but feel comfortable speaking with him.

It was relaxing for her to be able to speak with somebody around her age as well. Most of her neighbors were people who were significantly older or younger than her so it was like a breath of fresh air. Soon Junko grew tired and fell asleep curled up beside him. Due to the size of the bed being quite small, they had to sleep rather close to each other. At some point in the night, she woke up briefly to her head lying on his chest, with one arm wrapped around her. Feeling content she laid back down into his embrace and slept soundly throughout the night.
