Grandma (IO, Chuta, NK)

Yoi was sitting on the edge of the fountain in the middle of town. He sat they, thinking of how much he had grown since he last sat there. He could still hear the water dripping through the hole in the bucket. Those were the boring days when he would just sit around the house. Now, he had given himself purpose. Missions. As of now, he had done 4 E-ranks, 1 D-rank, 1 C-rank and 1 A-rank (this includes missions that are being worked on as of this post). Yoi was wearing his light blue t-shirt, white pants and dark blue shirt. He had his usual dark blue scarf with the Yuki symbol around his neck.

Yoi stood up. He reread the letter he had gotten:

A grandma did not show up to her family’s brunch. They don’t know where she is and they want you to check her house.

The team, including you, will be comprised of two Genin. Work with them to the best of your abilities. You will receive 1100 ryo as payment.

Yoi thought to himself, “Couldn’t the family just check the home themselves?”

He proceeded to check his watch. 3 minutes until the other was supposed to arrive.

Chuta grabbed his bag and threw on a pair of dark color pants and lighter grey color T-shirt, his headband was around his head like always and he set off into Konoha. Before he left he had another letter from the mission department. Something about a grandma and not getting up. He would be meeting Yoi at the fountain in town and set off from there.

Chuta stopped and got a breakfast to go from his favorite shop and began to eat on the way, it was a white container of fried rice with an egg on top and a piece of bacon. It would do till lunch. As he approached the fountain his mouth was full when he spoke, “hey Yoi! How are you this morning?” He asked and continued to chew.

Hopefully the grandmother was alright. But the ninja are on the way. “Lead the way” Chuta smiled. He would drag behind a little till his breakfast was finished.

"Hey Chuta! I'm doing good. How 'bout you?" Chuta asked for Yoi to lead the way. Yoi assumed it was because Chuta was busy eating breakfast. "Sure thing man. Why do they keep pairing us together. I mean like, we're one of many doing missions, yet we always get paired together."


After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at the grandma's house. If Chuta is finished eating, Yoi will knock on the door. If Chuta isn't finished eating, Yoi will wait to knock on the door until Chuta is done.

Chuta swallowed the last bit of food and crunches the white container into his backpack. “All done.” He said sipping his face. Yoi knocked on the door. There was no answer, not even movement in the home. Nothing obvious anyway.

“You think we should go in and check it out?” Chuta said. “See if it’s unlocked. Any signs of breaking and entering?” Chuta asked. A thought darted across his mind, if the door was already open, locked or broken into, Chuta would run toward the rear of the house. This had multiple tactical advantages, he could catch someone leaving, or attack from another angle if it was needed. If the fort was locked and no one broke in, he would remain behind Yoi to see what he wanted to do. “Maybe I should go around back?” He would ask, “find another way in, see if any windows are broken?”

With no responses to his questions Chuta approached the door and tried at the handle. It wasn't locked, it turned freely. This concerned him, he put his hand up to look through a window that was close by. The inside of the house was a mess. Now his mind was moving at a hundred miles an hour. Chuta threw up hand signs, they were normal tactical signs directing Yoi to stay here for 10 seconds, then to enter. He also relayed that he was going to run around the house and enter through the back door.

Chuta ran. As he approached the rear of the house he pulled a kunai from his back pouch. It was of standard make (50 sharpness and whatnot) and he saw the back of the building. The door was already open, though in his rush he didn't notice any tracks leaving. He simply ran into the doorway. He looked and didn't see any threats right away.

The house was a mess, though not the kind of mess you would see if it was thrown, it was more like she was looking for something. Chuta looked down at a desk inside the back door. A schedule was posted.

"Bingo at 700am" It was already 730. She could have been in a rush to get to bingo maybe? He thought.

Chuta entered the house, after showing some hand signs that meant Yoi was to wait 10 seconds before entering. Yoi, holding his weapon in his hand, walked into the house. Seeing Chuta focused on something, he walked up behind him, checking to see what was going on. The woman was to head to bingo 30 minutes ago. Yoi said to Chuta, “I know of a bingo place close by. Should we check it out?”

“Hmm. Lead the way.” Chuta said. He was pretty sure that the building was like this because something was missing, but he could be wrong. If she isn’t at the bingo place they would have to back track and charcoal for more clues. Right now they had to hurry, the game only had about a half hour left till it was over. If she leaves from there who knows where she would have gone.

“We might need to get there fast. How far is this place? He asked. Chuta began to walk out the door and put his kunai back in his pouch. He was glad he didn’t need to use it.

"Eh, it's pretty close by." Yoi walked out of the building at a casual place. He also released his jutsu, his Ice Release kunai breaking in to shards of ice. After walking a block forwards, he turned right and halfway down that block there it was. Yoi opened the door, checking to see what was inside. He looked at the picture provided of the grandma, and then after scanning the room he saw the lady. He pointed her out to Chuta and said, "Well, I guess we'll just let her family know."
