As they walked, he could sense her mind drifting, her thoughts turning inward as the conversation momentarily slipped from her focus. He didn't mind; he understood that pull toward personal contemplation, especially with the path they were both on as shinobi. When she turned to him, her grin broad and inviting, he felt a surge of rapport. The connection between them, brief as it was, felt genuine, and when she extended the invitation to join her at the training grounds, there was a flicker of excitement in her voice that he couldn't ignore.

Connor didn't respond immediately, giving her words the consideration they deserved. He was intrigued by the idea of training with her, of pushing his limits alongside someone who had a strong sense of purpose. But before he could reply, she began to move away, heading toward her destination with a wave and a parting offer that hung between them. As she walked off, Connor pondered, as it would be rude not to at least consider. This was an opportunity. He hadn't expected to be drawn into someone else's orbit today, but the prospect of training together, of exploring what they could both learn and achieve, was too enticing to pass up. Connor increased his gait, decreasing the gap she had started to put between them. He said nothing to the people passing by and did not attempt to explain his lapse in concentration.
