Sins of the Father

A breath of relief escaped from Kitiara's chest as Ayato seemed relatively at ease about being seen in a position of reverence to her. Then, when he handed back the papers, a glance at something, a keen eye caught his facial features, recollecting things. What Kitiara had said to him would soon be made clear to her as she folded her papers back precisely the same way she did every time and put them back in a safe place. That was when after a moment it seemed of contemplation Ayato began to say something that made Kitiara fall silent, although whenever the man spoke Kitiara was sure to listen anyways out of respect, it was the topic of conversation that made her fall silent.

Ayato spoke of her mother, and that there was another within the village that was of the clan, while that was not a big suprise, the Kaguya clan could be found practically anywhere if one looked deep enough into the reaches of the shadows of any location. It was a startling fact that another shared the mother's name, not that they had the same name as her mother, but rather, their mother also happened to have the same name, and now that the lord looked upon Kitiara, he could see resemblances between the two people. He knew this person personally, not just as a name.

Then Ayato made a quick tour about a split between the Hyuuga long past. With a name, however, she could look into things herself. However, she had another thing as well." So, I know I jumped right into offering my services to replace Kobi-san. Still, I never trained in anything dealing with being a Shinobi, so I think if there is a place or person to start teaching me something like that, that would be the best place to start, and maybe after you inform this...Sephora? and if she seems interested than perhaps we can meet up at some time, Maybe it was just a coincidence after all." Kitiara would wait for further instructions before making her next move.

Ayato observed the subtle shift in Kitiara’s demeanor as she processed his words. The relief in her breath was palpable, yet he could sense the layers of contemplation that followed. The mention of her mother and the discovery of another Kaguya bearing the same name had struck a chord. A curious twist of fate tied their paths together in such a manner.

He leaned back slightly, thoughtfully expressing his appreciation for her response. “The Kaguya name does indeed find its way into the far reaches of the ninja world,” Ayato mused, his gaze steady. “Yet, the intersection of names and faces often reveals the most curious truths. Sephora’s presence in Hoshigakure is a matter of shared lineage and the delicate tapestry of our histories.”

He respected Kitiara’s request, recognizing her determination to forge a path despite her lack of training. “As for your desire to find your place among us,” he said, his voice carrying a note of approval, “seeking the guidance of a seasoned instructor is the right step. There are many paths to mastery in our world, and the skills of a shinobi are among the most intricate.”

Ayato’s gaze softened slightly, his tone taking on a more personal edge. “I can arrange for you to meet with one of our finest instructors. They can provide you with the foundation you seek and prepare you for the responsibilities you wish to undertake. As for Sephora, I will inform her of our conversation. If willing, she may offer insights into your mother’s legacy that could prove invaluable.”

He paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. “In this land, where the shadows of the past often illuminate the present, it is not always mere chance that guides our steps. Sometimes, it is the deliberate choice to uncover what lies hidden. You have shown initiative, and that is a trait worth nurturing.”

Ayato’s expression grew more resolute as he concluded, “We shall see where these threads lead us. For now, focus on your training and your preparations. If the paths converge as they seem, we shall meet again, and perhaps the coincidence will reveal itself as something far more significant.”

Kitiara would stand there and listen intently to the words that Ayato spoke. When he was finished, it would almost seem as if he was dismissing her, but she had no name yet to go off of for a teacher, so once given a chance, she would speak, " Many Thank M'lord, who should I meet for my lessons to begin my path for becoming a Shinobi? As for Sephora, I would greatly appreciate it, M'lord. Please keep in touch with me about this subject. For if we are kin, I would like to connect. " Kitiara would then think about his words about Shadows and the Past, Uncovering the hidden and showing traits worth nurturing.

When Ayato told her to focus on training and preparations, she only nodded, hoping that afterward, she would learn the name of a teacher to meet with. Once given a name or further instructions, and nothing else was given, she would announce, "If there is nothing else, M'lord, then I shall go start my training right away." Kitiara would await to see if anything more was added, and if allowed to be dismissed, she would leave with a bow and a fast step out of the office of lord kage.

As Kitiara left, her mind drifted back to Kobiyashi. It was a sad passing indeed to hear about. But with the recent talk just achieved, she would say to herself, talking as if Kobiyashi could listen to her, " I did it, Kobi-san; I am following your footsteps. I will fulfill your dream and serve Hoshigakure in your place; I promise I will make you proud, Onii-san." With that, Kitiara would practically be skipping away from Starfall Hall; another thought hit about when she left the range of the Unseen University Campus. The idea of possibly having a sister makes her think, could she have other siblings, too?

Ayato couldn’t help but offer a wry smile, his tone light and cutting, reminiscent of a sharp-tongued Hyuuga. "That I shall do, because what is Hoshi if not one big family? A sprawling, occasionally dysfunctional one, but a family nonetheless." His words lingered in the air, laced with a more profound truth.

He nodded, acknowledging her eagerness. "For your training, seek out Master Raizen in the East Wing. You’ll find him scowling at some poor soul who dared to interrupt his meditation. Gruff as he is, there’s no one better to guide you on becoming a Shinobi."

A flicker of something crossed his eyes as he continued, "And Sephora... she often frequents the Water Gardens or the City Square." He knew she favored those spots, though he kept that detail to himself.

Ayato inclined his head, signaling the end of their discussion. "Welcome to Hoshigakure, Kitiara. I expect great things from you."

As she turned to leave, Ayato added with a hint of dry humor, "Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a dinner with Lords Asahi and Takeda, esteemed leaders of their clans. A gathering of minds, they call it, though I suspect the only thing of substance will be the wine."

His smile was thin, almost resigned. "Truth be told, I’d rather be anywhere else. But duty calls, and so do the lords."

With that, he dismissed her with a final nod, already bracing himself for the evening ahead.
