Time for a Rematch [[Vretyel Ayama]]
Wed Oct 10, 2012 1:31 am
Ayama loved trees, she had ever since she was a small child. This love had only been increased with the introduction of a feline partner with whom she shared head-space. So it wasn't surprising to find her in a tree waiting for Vretyel. Not that she'd been waiting long, in fact she'd only just settled into the high reaching branches. But she was pulling a Navi and was pretending to have been there waiting for hours. Because then she could bug Vretyel about being slow.
"Why are you finding ways to annoy this boy?" Hisoka asked coolly. Instead of answering she extended her memories to him huffing. There was a long pause and then bemusement radiated from his end. "So do you like him? Because that would be excellent he is a much better match for you than.... the other one"
Ayama recoiled from Hisoka's touch like he was a poisonous snake "No!" she screeched at him the mental thought filling her head. The cat only chuckled and she realized he had been attempting to get a rise out of her. Throwing up her mental walls she crossed her arms and assumed the sulking position. She did not like Vretyel, actually she found him kind of annoying, but she had to respect his abilities.
Sighing again she relaxed her pose and glared at the clearing. She hoped Vretyel would show up soon, she was ready for their rematch.

Vretyel was not one to be late, having completed his earlier mission with Ayama he was ready for that rematch. He had come so close to taking Ayama down earlier he wanted to show her that he is the best, even better than her.
Vretyel walked down the path to the place that Ayama wanted them to meet, it was a quiet place, out on the border, nobody would be coming to interfere, and he was ready when he finally got to location.
"Sorry, I have a longer walk to get here than you, but I don't think you would have minded right, I mean you're always alone."
Vretyel grinned at the chance to finally begin this, Vretyel began charging his hands with subtle lightning chakra, it would have been impossible for Ayama to see it, and we was hoping he could end the match quickly.
"Can I get my Kunai Back before we start, shake hands?"

"Sorry, I have a longer walk to get here than you, but I don't think you would have minded right, I mean you're always alone."
Was that a jab at her lack of friends? Well then, it wasn't he always came with a posse of his own either. Eyeing his extended hand suspiciously she used her left hand to search around in her pouch, drawing out the duller of her two blades. She'd noticed that she still had his kunai when she had returned home from their first mission. She hadn't bothered to clean, and repair it beyond the basics to make sure it didn't rust. Instead of shaking his hand though she tossed the kunai to him instead.
"Na, sorry I don't usually shake hands," she replied flippantly. But the turn down wasn't entirely callous. She still gave him a devilish smile that was more friendly than usually. She considered him a comrade at least.
She then twirled away, putting some distance between them before turning to face him again and drawing her sword in a single practiced movement.
"Lets finish what we started!" she yelled excitedly, settling low into a loose kenjutsu stance.

Vretyel caught the kunai knife and put it into his sack with his other Kunai Knife. Well that didn't work Vretyel thought, I figured as much.
With that Vretyel picked up the Kunai knife and put it back into pack and began to put it into his sack with his other Kunai. Vretyel was not going to allow her to get the upper hand at all this round and made sure that she would not be able to do any of her Kenjutsu moves. Vretyel Charged his staff and ran towards ayama with his feet being concentrated by chakra.
Vretyel then did a flurry of attacks aiming for ayama's vital sections, if even they clashed in Vretyel would be too strong for Ayama to handle. Vretyel end his attack by hold his staff close to his body and pushing it into Ayama, attempting to force a clash.
It was time for Ayama to finally prove what she has got, Vretyel gave her a lot of opening to do so.

Sometimes being incredibly flexible was a good thing. The same went for being very very fast. Vretyel wasted no time, he was off to a swift start. His attacks were calculated, more focused this time and with planning behind them. She used her blade and her hands to redirect his aim, gentle shoves unbalancing the moves enough for her to twist out of the way. But his finishing attack, a frontal assault with the Bo staff was not so easily deterred.
It had become obvious that he had grown even stronger since their last fight. He also knew that he outclassed her in this area. He was pressing his advantage, trying to force her into a battle of strength she knew she would lose. But where Vretyel outclassed her in strength, she knew she was faster than him.
Spinning away from the oncoming staff she swung out her blade, using her bodies momentum to aim a slash at his shoulder.

What is it with all of my sparring partners being so flexible, Vretyel thought.
As ayama was spinning to the right like a top Vretyel quickly did the hand signs for a substition jutsu as she was looking away. That way when the sword hit Vretyel he would not be there anymore, replaced with a log from this dense forest. He had transported himself to a nearby tree behind where Ayama was currently swinging her staff into a log. He then completed the hand signs to make two clones of himself. With the real Vretyel being the one in the center, all facing Ayama. Simultaneously Vretyel and his clones ran straight for Ayama, all trying to land a hit onto Ayama with Crimson. The right clone would aim for her right arm with a sweeping motion, the clone of the right would do the same, but aiming for Ayamas left arm, and the real Vretyel would jump into the air and attempt to hit her with an overhead swing down square for her head.

Suddenly logs!
She glared at the offending chunk of wood, cursing herself for looking away and providing the perfect opportunity for a substitution jutsu. With a burst of electrical energy she jerked the sword out of the wood before turning to face Vretyel. Her eyes sparked with the same vicious intensity as her sword and her playful smile was gone, replaced with a darker smirk. She was having fun.
Then one Vretyel was three.
She blinked, gripping her ninjato with two hands her smirk diminishing somewhat. Clones! Were they shadow clones? Which one was real? Could they hurt her or were they simple traps? The questions buzzed in her brain and despite herself she took a step back.
"Use your senses!" Hisoka snarled. She blinked and then strained with her enhanced abilities. Her ears told her there was only one set of feet running on the grass and her nose told her that there was only one ninja to worry about. Her grin returning full force she followed her nose and ducked down, rolling underneath the top Vretyel's attack and ignoring the false clones entirely. She sprang out of her crouch and spun easily to face him again.
Settling swiftly into the first stance of Dance of the Crescent Moon, she began to spin her sword in circles, the silver blue blade arching around her. As Vretyel was landing she advanced, moving fluidly through the forms, her blade glittering death. She closed the distance quickly and adjusted from the cemented moves to the flexible ones meant for real battle. Her sword came up once, twice, three times, in swift diagonal slashes to his torso. Each one tilted differently to dodge the Bo staff if it was brought up in time to block the hit before.

Seeing as though she had not concentrated her chakra to her sword as she was beginning her Cresent Moon Dance. Vretyel thought to himself, Now if Ayama has not charged her staff with lighting, that would mean that if her sword hit the staff, she would then be shocked as well. Vretyel grinned as he landed, planting his staff into the ground as Ayama was doing her spins for the Cresent Moon Dance, to her it would still look like Vretyel was holding onto the staff until she hit him, since he was facing her from behind. He did the hand signs for another substitution Jutsu.
As Ayama would hit Vretyel he would do completed the substitution Jutsu, meaning that once Vretyel was hit with Ayama's sword, vretyel would substitute with another log, and the staff would remain in the same spot. Since she was hitting the log as such speed and force there would be no way for her to stop the momentum of her sword in time, forcing the blade right into contact with the charged lightning staff. Even if the staff only hit the log the chakra would still travel to the blade. Basically if Ayama hit Vretyel there would be no way out of it, she would get paralyzed.
She would become paralyzed from the lightning chakra hitting her uncharged sword, unable to move and becoming helpless. Vretyel would appear behind the same tree as the last time, taking out a Kunai and running towards Ayama, getting into the position to kill.

Her electrified blade slashed into the wood again and she was getting seriously tiered of this. Was she a lumberjack or something? Did her blade just summon wood to it? Vretyel was really getting into the use of substitution today. He had also for some reason left his Bo staff behind. Her sword ricochet off the hard reddened wood, the sparks of lightning flashing at the collision.
That was his Bo staff alright, she couldn't believe her luck. He must not have seen her charge her blade! Unfortunately the conductors were still charging the staff making her unable to touch it. But now Vretyel was without his main weapon. She was rooted to the staff but she could deal with that.
Swinging around she took up a more defensive position in front of the staff, planning on a game of keep away. Reaching into her pouch she withdrew her kunai and charged it with lightning as well. She moved forward only slightly, meeting Vretyel's charge. Using her kunai she aimed to redirect the momentum in his arm and push it and its knife to a more benign position. At the same time she closed the gap between them even more, bringing her blade up to press against his throat.
"Surrender," she hissed, her voice balancing between excitement and darkness.

Well that didn't work, Vretyel thought, He needed to think of something and fast. Vretyel realized that he was about to get beaten if he didn't do anything about it. Keeping his left hand and Ayamas left hand in a stalemate, seeing that if she moved her arm out of the way Vretyel would be able to still block any attack she did with that Kunai. Vretyel took his right hand and touched Ayamas arm with his hand, which would then numb her arm, long enough so that she too would drop her sword on the ground. There would be no reason for her to stop assaulting him from that position, so her sword hand would be numbed regard less. With this opportunity Vretyel took out the bloodied Kunai and held it up to her throat, giving her two choices, one would be to leap away from her sword, and the other, would be to surrender.
