Kotaro Hyuuga's Genin Exam
Sun Nov 25, 2012 12:38 pm
Kotaro woke early in the morning. As he gazed out of his bedroom window he smiled. Today was the day, today Kotaro would be taking the Genin Exam. All the training that he had done up till now all led up to this moment. He quickly got out of his bed, washed, got dressed then went down stairs and out the door. As he walked down the street to the academy he found himself slightly nervous, would he be able to pass this? He shook his head, now was not the time to think about this. He arrived at the academy and entered into the room where the exam was to be taken.

The genin exam proctor Irin Ushifodo sat silently in the exam room, his eyes closed and his legs crossed. This exam was going to be an interesting one. The first child up today was Kotaro Hyuuga, a very odd child. Not many Hyuuga had been seen in Kirigakure, and the ones who were here either failed the exam miserably, were arrogant, or were too young to take the exams. But this one seemed to have promise....... Hearing someone enter, Irin stood up straight, speaking in a calm relaxing tone.

Kotaro nodded upon hearing the instructions given to him by the proctor. The three basic academy jutsu. Seemed easy enough. Though which one would he do first? Kotaro thought on it for several seconds. 'Probably the easiest of the three would be Kawarimi.' He thought to himself. 'Then it would have to be Bunshin no Jutsu and finally Henge no Jutsu.' With his order finalised he nodded in determination before preparing himself mentally for this. "Right, let's do this." He raised up his hands to his chest and thought about what he wished to swap with. His eyes scanned the room until he found a suitable target, a conveniently placed log was laying on a wall across the room. Kotaro supposed that was put there for the Students taking this exam to use for just this jutsu. 'Might as well use it then.' He thought to himself before beginning to go through the hand seals. First his hands quickly moved into the hand seal for ram, then trying to keep a steady pace he switched them over to Boar, then Ox, then Dog, then the final hand seal which as Snake. Upon doing this he closed his eyes and focused on the log across the room from him. The jutsu was complete, Kotaro opened his eyes and found himself at the opposite end of the room, the sound of the log hitting the floor where he once confirmed to him that he had completed this jutsu. He smiled slightly before wiping it off his face, he wasn't done yet, he still needed to do the two harder jutsu.
"One down." He mumbled to himself moving back to where he was originally positioned, he did of course move the log back to where it was stationed before he had used it so that other Students could also use it for the jutsu if they so wished. Kotaro once more brought his hands up to his chest and closed his eyes. He had to focus more for this jutsu, he needed to create at last two clones for it to seem like he had a decent grasp of the jutsu. His mind focused on what his own appearance was at the moment he began. His hands rapidly formed the beginning hand seal for this jutsu, Ram. Then he hesitated, he couldn't remember the next. For around thirty seconds he stood there as he frantically tried to recall what the next seal was. Then it came to him, Snake. His hands then fluently moved on to the last hand seal for the jutsu, Tiger. He stood there for a moment before yelling out, "Bunshin no Jutsu!" He stood there motionless for several seconds before opening his eyes. He looked left then looked right, turns out Kotaro had failed to get the number he aimed for, instead he had managed to create three clones. 'Woops, I suppose it doesnt matter though.' He thought to himself. He quickly looked the clones up and down. Thankfully they all looked identical to what Kotaro looked like at the moment. Kotaro hoped that there wasn't anything he didn't see that was different, and if there was he hoped the proctor didn't catch it. 'No time to worry about that.' He thought to himself, he lightly tapped each of the clones on the head causing them to vanish. "Two down, one to go." He once more mumbled to himself. 'Once this is all done I'll show that irritating kid that I can in fact to the basic jutsu.'
This was it, the final academy jutsu. This was all which stood in the way of Kotaro and becoming a Genin. The Henge no Jutsu. Despite his 'success' so far Kotaro couldn't help but feel nervous. If he messed this up then he would fail. He had to concentrate for this. His target for this was the proctor themself. Kotaro spent the better part of two minutes staring at the man taking in every detail that he could about them. He then closed his eyes and relaxed slightly. He needed to expell all worries from his mind and focus on the image of the proctor. He focused on what he had been looking at for the past few minutes and tried to get a clear image in his head. 'Got it.' He thought to himself. He opened his eyes and smiled slightly before moving his hands up once more. Three hand seals and this was over. First came Dog. His hands move into the starting hand seal as quickly as Kotaro could manage without messing up. He nearly messed up the order of the last two but managed to recover, Boar. Then came the last one, this was the moment, if he did this right Kotaro would pass, if not..well he wouldn't pass. His hands moved into the final hand seal, Ram. "Henge no Jutsu!" A puff of smoke surrounded him for some dramatic effect, the smoke dispersed away from Kotaro to reveal a mirror image of the proctor who was stood opposite him. Kotaro looked down at his current appearance. His eyes darted back and forth as he tried to see if there was any difference between the two of them. Satisfied that there wasn't any noticable, atleast to Kotaro, differences he dispelled the Henge and his appearance changed back into his own. Kotaro looked towards the proctor and waited for his judgement.
