teammate encounter (private, no kill)

Itami woke up to the door slamming, startled and confused. A moment later when his mind finally got used to the idea that he was no longer dreaming, he realized it was probably his father, leaving for work or maybe going out to get drunk again.
He sighed, and rolled out of bed, getting dressed quickly and washing up in the bathroom.

Fifteen minutes later, he was already downstairs, scouring the cupboards for food, and having no luck. The supplies have gone in less then two weeks and it seemed it was time for a shopping trip once again.

Itami put on his shoes and took some money from the drawer. Locking the door, he headed towards the village market, already making a shopping list in his mind.

His first stop was the fruit stand. Knowing the lady behind it quite well, from weekly visits, Itami chatted with her as he picked out the fruit.
He decided on oranges, figgs, raspberries and blueberries. Putting everything in a bag, he payed the lady and turned around to head to the other stands. He stopped in his tracks however, upon spottin a familiar figure in the crowd.

"Nakara, hi!" he yelled and waved towards his teammate.

Nakara was sitting in his families bath house relaxing, having nothing else to do. Although all of his duties were through he could not help but feel as if he needed something to do. After soaking in the water for about 15 minutes, he would go and get dressed wearing his usual clothes, grabbing his wires and sword before walking out of the house as he put on his sandals. Remembering he had not ate yet, Nakara would scratch his head going to the kitchen to get something to eat. Eating a plate of rice and fish he would quickly was his plate and walk out of the house.

Walking through the village, he would come to the village market as he looked around for some new foods for the house. As he looked around he heard a familiar voice," Itami??," as he turned around and walked over to him," Hey Itami how are you today," dropping what he was doing to talk to his teammate.

Itami waited till Nakara approached and then replied: "I'm pretty good."
He smiled at the other and then asked: "How about you?"

He shifted the bag in his hand and stored the rest of the money he still held, in the jacket pocket.
He really wondered how Nakara has been these days. Despite them being teammates, they rarely got to talk and Itami realized he didn't really know that much about him.

"Anything new happened in your life?" he added, curious.

Nakara would nod and chuckle as he looked around for a moment," I am well...decided to get out of the house and do something," scratching his head as he rested his hands into his sleeves. He had never really sat down and talked to Itami, it was a bit weird to not talk to your team. when he asked was their something new with him, Nakara would smile," Well seeing as your a friend I will tell you. I am having a kid soon, a son to be exact. Other than that I have a lot of meetings to attend to occasionally, how about you," He waited to see Itami's facial expression to what he was told.

"Smart." Itami replied with a slight giggle.
Upon hearing the rest of what Nakara had to say Itami's eyes widened and his mouth hung open. "Y-you're having a kid?" he stuttered and kept staring at the other boy. He was just about to question the statement, given that Nakara was so young and was already getting a son, but at the last second he stopped, reminding himself that would be incredibly impolite.

"I guess congratulations would be in order." he said after a few seconds, but the puzzled look still remained on his face. He just couldn't believe it. Having a kid so young was definitely something Itami wasn't used to. If that ever happened to him at that age, he wouldn't be particularly happy. He planned on having kids some day but for now, he needed his freedom and he wanted a lot of options to choose from in his path to the future.
But maybe Nakara was different. Maybe he was really looking forward to having a child. And besides, Nakara probably had his future all figured out by now, since he had his own clan and all.

Itami decided to be happy for his teammate and he smiled and patted him on the back in a friendly manner.

Nakara looked at Itami's face as he looked at him weirdly," Are..you okay Itami and yes I am having a son soon...Well I do not know if there is one bun in the oven or two, but I am happy. It gives me more to fight for including this village and you guys," smiling as he accepted the pat on the back. His eyes would slowly look around as he snapped his fingers," Itami I know me and you haven't really hung out since our last little meeting so I was wondering if you wanted to do something today. I was hoping to head to the hotsprings, then to the restaurant not far from it, I think it would be a good way for us to get better acquainted and become better friends," he would now wait for an answer from Itami before walking off.

"Well I'm happy for you." Itami said truthfully. He really was, as long as Nakara was okay with all that was happening.

As the other spoke again, Itami listened intently and then replied: "You're right, we never really talked much or anything. It would be nice to spend some time with you and get to know you better, we are teammates after all, and it would be great if we were good friends as well."

He smiled and pointed at the fruit stand. "Let me just leave what I bought just now with the lady who works at this stall, I don't want to carry it around the village. I know her since I buy fruit here all the time and she would have no problem safe keeping this bag until I return."

He walked back to the stall and talked with her. She agreed with a smile and took the bag. Itami headed back to Nakara.

"So, shall we go to the hotsprings then? I haven't been there in a while so it will be nice to visit again."
As Nakara moved, he followed along with a smile.

Nakara nodded as he agreed with Itami's words," It would be great after all you are my family, so why not be better aquainted. I know of a good hot spring that is owned in the village by two members of my clan. It's not to far from here maybe about 15 minutes," pointing to the direction they would have to go.


Looking over to the women at the stand, Nakara would wave to her attempting to say hi as he waited for Itami to come back. Once he had returned he would lead the way, walking through the large crowd to get to the hot spring.

Once the both of them arrived he would smile to the women working the counter as he hugged her," Hey Auntie, me and my teammate Itami here are coming for a good time, have you opened the hot springs yet," letting her go smiling. She would nod to him as she led them to one of the open baths," You two have fun now," she soon left to return to the front desk.

Nakara would nod to her and smile as he turned to Itami," The dressing rooms are over there, and there should be some trunks or shorts in there," As he walked off to go get changed. Coming back out with a towel around his waist he would sit in the water and wait for Itami.

Itami folowed Nakara in silence, lost in thought. He was suprised to hear that Nakara considered him a part of his family though it was quite a usual sentiment among many teammates. All in all, he was glad.

As they arrived at the hot springs and Nakara spoke to his aunt, Itami laughed slightly at Nakara's choice of words. He nodded at the woman and then went to the changing rooms his teammate pointed out. He changed quickly and grabbed a soft towel, tying it around his waist.

He walked out again, and went over to one of the hot springs, the one which was only occupied by Nakara. He climbed in the hot water and as he was about to sit down, slipped and fell with a big splash. Completely immersed in water, he mentally cursed and came back up for air. He rubbed his head that hit the stony edge slightly.

His cheeks burned red from embarrasment but he dismissed the event and sat down casually, pretending it didn't happen.

Running a hand through his soaked hair, he turned to Nakara and smiled.

Nakara sat in the water for a moment as he waited on Itami, the sky was clear and shined down on the water perfectly. Hearing the door open and close he would look as Itami walked into the area. As he got into the water and fell, Nakara could not help but laugh as he looked at his teammate," You okay Itami *laugh* you seem a little wet," it was a terrible pun but he was just having fun.

After laughing for a bit he would look over to Itami and smile," So tell me something's about you Itami, and we can go back and forth with questions and have some fun," nodding as he cupped some of the water in his hands and poured it on his head.
