Nerds Day Out (P,IO NK)
Fri Mar 29, 2013 1:36 pm
Sitting in his room in the boy's home, Kurogane would be reading a book on the history of ninja's throughout the years. Finding the past interesting he would hope he could be just like them or even better. Closing the book he would get up and walk to his door, grabbing a book labeled "basic training exercises" he would walk down the stairs silently making sure no one had heard him leave. Walking through the village as he read the book he would look around the village at the different people through his long hair, those icy blue eyes entralled with the book in front of him.
As he finally made his way to the training grounds he would turn to one of the post and sit on it as he continued to read the book. It took him about threee minutes to finish it, after he was done he would run his hand through his hair, spiking it up as he smiled," okay this should be easy enough," smiling as he went to punching and kicking the post.

Den decided to check out the training grounds in Tengakure. He didn't really intend to train, he simply was curious as to what it looked like and was attempting to get familiar with the area in Tengakure.
He quickly found the place, leisurely walking onto the grounds. He wore his usual Jounin gear, which had recently been washed and cleaned. His new headband rested atop his head, showing the Tengakure symbol. He carried no weapons, except the ring that almost always adorned his left ring finger. It had meant to be his seven swordsmen sword, but Kiri had been destroyed so he never got the chance to join.
Looking around, Den noticed a young boy attacking a post. He looked to be a bit younger than Den's actual age, which was 12. But, having spent 4 years in Sanctuary, Den was 16 now. The young man decided to be social, and approached the boy. He'd stop 3 meters behind him, his blue eyes examining him to see if he had any talent. Not that Denkiteki truly cared if the boy was skilled or not, it was out of habit.
"Hey there, having fun with that post?" he chuckled as he spoke, standing casually behind the boy.

Kurogane's training continued as he aimed a high jump kick to the top of the post quickly dropping to a low sweep kick in a manner of seconds. His timing was a bit of according to the book, but somethings were meant to be tweak in a sense. Going in for another attack he would smile as he jumped into the air, 2 meters in total, a brought down his foot into an Ax-kick.
Landing shortly he would hear the voice of someone as his hair conviently dropped over his eyes," uh... hi there. you are you exactly," forgetting what the boy just said as he picked up the book and read through it," oh the training...is somewhat operational although i think my timing was off by .2 seconds and my foot should have came from the right not left," his words going faster than the flipping of the pages.
Holding out his hand he would move it towards the boy and smile," Kurogane," closing the book and looking at the boy through his hair," the name's Kurogane...whats yours," the book was firmly placed under his armpit as he looked around for anybody else coming in.

"I am Denkiteki, it's nice to meet you." The jounin smiled, the young boy seemed amusing. He had never seen someone take a book with them to training, especially someone interested in Taijutsu like this boy seemed to be.
Curious, Den decided to ask a few more questions. The fact that the boy had brought a book with him to go training just struck him as odd, so he felt the need to inquire more as to why he had bothered to bring it with him.
"So, are you studying to become a Taijutsu specialist, or did you just bring the book so that you could add a move or two to your arsenal?" he pointed towards the book as he finished talking, his stance remained casual as he asked the question, patiently waiting for the boy to answer.

Kurogane shook his head as he pulled the book into his hands again and jumped onto the post, his balance perfect," No...i am more of a fire specialist...well i aim to be. One of my many goals when i become a genin is to make my book of fire techniques that will aid me in battle. After that the sky is the limit," smiling as he flipped the pages.
Looking at Denkiteki, Kurogane would look him over for a moment. He wondered what he could do or better yet his skills were more data based," Say Den...what rank are you.. and what abilities or elements do you specialize in," these were only two of the questions he had in mind as he though over what the book was saying.
Closing the book, it would dawn on him what was asked earlier as he shook his head," Knowledge is my power...you can say i am very smart for someone of my age , but i apply my knowledge with fire to make a deadly combination," setting his book underneath his arm he would smile," You would not mind training a little with me...i kind of need it for my up and coming genin exam,"sitting down on the post.

"Fire affinity, eh? I've been interested in that element actually, though I haven't had the time to master it yet. Maybe you could lend me that book when you make it, so I can try and learn a thing or two." Den was joking of course, though he was curious about this book the boy was making. Den had done some training in converting his chakra in fire, but had yet to actually be able to use it in combat. He had been very busy with his medical studies as of late, so he hadn't bothered as much with is actual ninjutsu skills.
It seemed the boy was interested in Den, wanting to know his rank and what exactly he specialized in. Den smirked, wondering how he should go about answering the question. He wasn't very open about his snake abilities, especially since the negative reaction they had received in Kiri, so he decided against revealing that ability.
"Well, until recently I was an Earth Release Ninjutsu specialist. I've managed to bury a few powerful people here and there, though admittedly most of them dug themselves out.I have given that up for the most part however, I am now focusing on medical ninjutsu. I know how to administer first aid, though I have yet to learn any actual jutsu that can heal someone other than myself." Den hoped his answer was adequate, though looking back he might have generated more questions as well.
Den listened as the boy explained that knowledge was his power, and that he claimed to be smart for someone of his age. Den listened as he explained that knowledge and fire were a deadly combination. Well, knowledge can make anything deadly. Assuming you possess the right sort of knowledge, anyway.
The boys last statement was odd to Den, did he state that he would not mind training this academy student, or was the younger child attempting to ask him if he would mind but instead misspoke. Regardless, Den supposed he had some time. He didn't have any missions to do that day. "Sure, why not. What sort of training do you have in mind, or do I have to think of something?

As Kurogane listened his eyes would sparkle at the sound of Medical Ninjutsu," So tell me Denkiteki...What about Medical Ninjutsu do you find cool. Is the aspect of saving lives...or maybe the fact that you can be versatile on the field," His second question would come up soon after," So is there anything else you can do besides those two or is that it," His mind would be racing but his eyes remained on Denkiteki.
Thinking back he would smile as he looked at the book he was currently holding," Well the book i plan on making will essentially be how i fight...Inside the book will be different forms of fire jutsu..some of which i have made on my own, and with the right handseals i can basically have more versatile attacks. If you want to see it after its creation i would not mind, but you have to teach me some of your cool Medical stuffs for a fair trade," Holding out his hand to shake his for a deal.
As the topic of training came up, Kurogane would tap his head for a moment before looking around," I don't really know that much about fighting besides what i have read...do you have anything that i can train on. Sorry if this is putting you in a tough situation," Opening the book again he would go back to reading a paragraph on counter attacking and surprising your opponents.

“I’m just interested in how things work especially people. I’d like to be able to save lives, but most of my techniques focus on either increasing my own physical abilities, such as strength, speed, and regeneration. I also have been studying techniques that alter genetics, but have yet to discover or make a technique I’d find useful.” Den shrugged at the last part, not really knowing what else to say after that.
Den found the idea of trading medical skills for fire jutsu amusing, so he gladly shook hands with the boy when he made the offer. I suppose I’ll have to finish learning how to use the fire element after this, so can actually use the techniques.
It seemed the boy didn’t know how he wanted to go about training. Den thought for a moment, before an idea popped into his mind. It wouldn’t be the best sort of training, but it might prove helpful for the boy. After letting go of Kuro’s hand, Den would hold it open palm in front of him. After a mere second, a kunai would seem to appear out of nowhere, laying a top Den’s hand. Den had summoned it from Sanctuary, where he kept all of his weapons when they weren’t on his person.
“Here, how about you try and cut me with this. Learning how to fight against a dummy is all and good, as well as being able to fight with your body, but being able to use a blade to harm a moving person is also a valuable skill. Now, if you do want to do this, I’m going to have to ask you try and avoid hitting anything vital. It would be a pain to have to regenerate anything important.” Den would chuckle at the last part, neglecting to reveal that a few of his vital spots could not regenerate.
If the boy took the knife, Den would disappear for a moment before popping up 5 meters behind his original position. There would be no objects within 10 meters of him, as he waited for the boy to make a move, “Don’t worry, I don’t intend to move this fast the entire time.”

"That seems interesting Denkiteki..hmm you would make a nice role model. So its official i to be like you..or somewhat along those line," Laughing to himself as he looked at him strangely. Moving the hair from his eyes to its usual spiky demeanor as he look at him weirdly. As the kunai appeared from nowhere, Kurogane's eyes would sparkle as he looked around his hand,' How...did you do that!!! Your hiding something from me aren't you Den..tell me how you did that later," as he took the knife and walked back.
Kurogane laughed as he looked at the knife to see if there was anything different about it," I won't hit anything vital..i am only a 12 year old academy student," Okay now even he had to laugh at the little statement. Nodding his head he would marvel at Denkiteki's speed," WOOOW you are fast...there are alot of interesting things about you that are cool," taking a stance he would run at Denkiteki and aim for the right side of his stomach near the armpit.
Obviously with his height that would be a problem so as soon as he got closer, he would aim a kick to his shins to hopefully bring him down, then he would aim for his arm.

“Nah, don’t try to be like me. Then you’ll just end up being a cheap imitation. You should strive to be better than me, or something like that.” He chuckled at his poor attempt to inspire the younger boy to train hard and surpass him, or to be his own person. Den was good at a lot of things, but being inspirational was not one of them.
Den smirked at the praise the boy was giving him, he wasn’t used to that sort of thing, “I know a few cheap parlor tricks.” He shrugged as he spoke the words, though he kept an eye on the boy, as he took a stance.
Moments before the boy reached him, Den was standing in a relaxed position, his body facing the boy. He quickly figured out the boy’s first strike, he found that he was aiming for the right side of Den’s stomach. This wasn’t a wise move, as the boy was attacking with the kunai in his right hand. This would force him to reach across his body to strike at his target.
As the boy attempted the strike, Den’s left hand shot out, attempting to push the boy’s arm to Den’s left. This would cause the blade of the kunai to pass by Den’s right arm harmlessly, and if the boy had put his weight behind the blow he would be unbalanced by this act. Den made sure not to move to fast, or put to much effort into the push. He didn’t want to hurt the boy of course. But he would move faster than the boy, though hopefully the Academy student would still be able to follow his movements.
If the boy continued with his next strike, Den would not be able to see it as the boy was so much shorter than him, and Den was looking at the boy’s hand. Luckily, Den’s sensory abilities focused on sensing motion, and not chakra, so he felt the next attack coming through that. I wonder if he knew I’d be focused on the kunai. The boy would have gotten him if it wasn’t for his ability, I must be getting sloppy, to almost get kicked by an academy student.
In truth Den normally didn’t engage in hand to hand combat anyway, at least not in the sense that he engaged multiple blows with his opponents before disengaging. He was more the type to strike his opponent then dodge away from the opponent. Den didn’t like to commit to making a number of strikes on the opponent.
In order to avoid getting kicked in the shin, Den would simply move the leg the boy was aiming at as he attempted to strike, and moved his entire body 180 degrees with his other foot as the point he was revolving around. He was of course turning away from his opponent, not towards him. Den would quickly finish turning, and reach out with the arm that was closest to the young boy. Because the boy’s right arm would have been moved farther to the right then he had intended, assuming Den’s plan had worked, and the boy had attempted to kick Den, he would have a difficult time not stumbling as Den’s hand reached forward and pushed the boy’s forehead back. If it connected, Den’s fingers would push the boy backwards while he was still standing on one foot, the other having been in the air from attempting to kick Den, so it would be difficult for the boy not to fall over.
