Yesterday Guujin had a very long night at his friends birthday party and so he was very tired. It took him like 10 minutes to wake up and drag himself out of bed. Finally he was out of bed, even though his grandma had been calling to him for almost a half hour to wake up. He looked in the mirror. His purple hair was all frizzy and spiked up everywhere, and he had dark circles under his naturally read eyes. He looked like he needed a nice cold shower to wake him up. He opens up his mouth wide and yawns, because he is still a bit tired. He rubs his eyes and begins to walk towards the bathroom where the shower is. On his way there, he bumps his toe against the door frame and yells out the f word. His grandmother hates cursing and will probably paddle him for that. For some reason she is in a good mood today though. “What did you just say?” she calls from downstairs. “Nothing” Guujin says back. “That’s what I thought” the grandmother replies. Normally, she would have paddled him until he was not able to sit down for the rest of the day, but he had been let off the hook this time. He walks into the bathroom, a bit more awake from stubbing his toe and his adrenaline rising from the conflict with his grandma. He turns the faucet on the shower to as cold as it can go. He steps into the shower. Most people like warm showers, but Guujin is kind of odd because he likes his showers cold. The second that the freezing water touches Guujin’s skin he is immediately jolted awake. That is what he liked so much about refreshing cold showers, was the awareness that the frigid water filled him with. He drew out the shower, taking a particularly long time to shampoo and condition his hair. First, he took a liberal amount of shampoo and began to lather it into his scalp. He scrubbed vigorously with the finger tips until suds covered his entire head. The manly smell of the ocean filled the shower. He then rinsed his hair out in the freezing water. Next, he took a dime sized amount of conditioner and squeezed it into his hair from the roots to the tips. It helped give him the silky smoothness and softness that made his hair look so good. He kept the conditioner in his hair throughout the whole shower as he scrubbed himself down with body wash. At the end of the shower, he rinsed the conditioner out of his hair. His grandmother was yelling at him to get out now because he was wasting water. He turned off the shower and stepped out, shivering. He took a towel and dried out his hair, shaking it dry as well. The silky smooth purple locks flowed down to his shoulders. He then dried the rest of his body and pale complexion. He put on some deodorant and cologne, through on his usual suit of clothes, and searched around the room for his favorite puppet. He looked under the bed, in his closet, and on his desk, but it was nowhere to be found. Guujin stood up and scratched his head, confused. He could have sworn that he had laid Jester down on the floor just last night before he went to bed. He could remember because he was fixing a bolt on the puppet’s hand, so that the blades within his palms would be firmer and more sturdy. His puppet tool kit was still there, but his actual puppet was gone. He really hoped that it had not been stolen, because this was Guujin’s favorite puppet. It was the first one that he had made at the age of 5, with much help from his grandmother. It had very high sentimental value, even if it wasn’t the strongest of puppets. He ran downstairs, hoping to find an answer to this mystery. Coming downstairs, he noticed his puppet laying across the kitchen table. It was different though. Better. It had a brand new paint job, and outfit. The white was extra brilliant, so were the black accents and the red of its lips. The silk of the puppet’s new outfit was much shinier and softer. Wow, he would not have been able to do these things alone. He couldn’t even have afforded the paint, let alone the silk. And his grandmother was strict, she wanted him to work for all the money that he used. She would not be one to give him handouts. But, he turned around to see his grandma smiling warmly, a wet paint brush in her hand and a sewing machine next to her, with expensive red skill next to it. She must have been feeling extra nice and fixed his scraped puppet up for him. He kissed her and thanked her profusely, before turning around and setting out to do some training. Guujin took Jester with him, so he could train his puppetry skills and form a better relationship with his puppet. He took his puppet to the training grounds, where he saw his friend from the academy, Ao. Ao was weak, and kind of a baby, so it would not be too hard to spar against him. He was a year older than Guujin and had only just graduated. “Hey Guu” Ao said, using the affectionate term that Guujin’s friends called him. “Want to spar?” Guujin had to hear no more. He simply smiled, and without even replying, took Jester off of his back, and hooked him up to his fingertips using the chakra threads jutsu. Ao knew what was happening, and smiled back. He drew a kunai in each hand, and got prepared. Guujin backed up 5 meters away from Ao and unsheathed the blades within Jester’s palms. Ao tried to attack the puppet, but the puppet moved much faster. Guujin’s kekkei genkai allowed the puppet’s speed and strength to correspond to how much chakra he had. And Guujin had a pretty large store of chakra, so his puppet moved much faster than the sluggish Ao. The puppet’s and Ao’s blades clashed, creating sparks and a metal clanging sound. The battle went on until dusk, without Ao and Guujin ever even engaging in physical combat. Ao simply fought Jest the whole day, and he was unable to even put a chip in the brand new paint job. Guujin was glad, he was getting pretty good at wielding his favorite puppet. At the beginning of the day, the range of his chakra threads was much less than it was now, and his chakra threads were opaque strings of blue chakra. But now they were invisible, and extended further. Guujin could also move when he was using his chakra threads, whereas earlier in the day he had not been able to move when using chakra threads or he would lose concentration and they would dissipate. Now, he could run around, engage in physical combat, and any sort of other thing while he had his chakra strings activated. He loved being a puppeteer. He and the exhausted and scratched up Ao began to walk home, making their way back to the street on which both of them lived. They talked about the academy, ninjutsu, puppets, their houses, and things like that. They had a pretty good relationship. It was a good, long day of training, but it was time to call it quits. Guujin headed into his house and set his puppet down on the kitchen table, and kissed his grandma goodnight. He made it upstairs on tired legs and squeezed some toothpaste onto his toothbrush. He brushed his teeth while singing happy birthday 5 times in his head, so he could make sure he could brush his teeth for the right amount of time. It was important to maintain his pearly whites. When he was done, he spit out the toothpaste, rinsed it down the drain, and washed his face. He then stripped down to his underpants and climbed into bed, where he lied down. It took him awhile to get to sleep, because he was thinking of the events that had taken place today because it was a very long and crazy day. He was asleep within 15 minutes though. He did not even dream, his sleep was just peaceful and pitch dark. He couldn’t wait to get up in the morning so that he could do some more training and maybe make another puppet. Tomorrow was Saturday, the beginning of the weekend, so he had a full 2 days to train with Ao, it would be fun. They would both get stronger and learn many new things. Guujin knew that someday he would be the best puppet user ever, and that he would be the first puppeteer Hokage. He could feel these things in his heart, and would stop at nothing to accomplish them.
