The time of sadness (P,NK, Closed)

Gekido was up at the hospital with his dad, and they were
there to visit his mother who was sick. They walked into the front door of the
hospital and walked up to the receptionist's counter. His father spoke and
asked the kind lady at the counter "Yes ma'am I
am Nuko Uchiha and I am here to see Suna Uchiha if I am permitted." The
lady smiled and started typing on the computer. The computer made a ping sound
and she said "Yes sir she is in room six
fourteen, and you can visit her at this time." Gekido's father
thanked the lady and headed to the elevator waiting. Gekido and his father
waited as the elevator slowly came down to the base floor. They stepped in and hit the button for the sixth
floor. Gekido figured out that the first number is the floor and the next two
numbers after that was the room number. This meant his mother's room was on the
sixth floor, and in room fourteen. He had not seen his mother in a while and
had felt like he lost touch with her. He was excited to see her again though no
matter how bad she looked. His father looked at him and said "Son, she might not look well at all. I do not know
exactly what she has, but it is not apparently contagious. You might want to
hold back your tears." Gekido understood as the elevator light
changed at each floor they reached. It went from one, to two, to three, to
four, to five, to six. They arrived at the floor and were presented with a
sign. The sign had two arrows; the one pointing to the right said "rooms
one to ten this way" and the one pointing to the left said "rooms
eleven to twenty." They obviously went to the left and went four doors
down to room fourteen. They knocked on the door and were greeted by a medical
ninja. They medical ninja said "She is looking a
bit better sir, but we do not know how bad or good her condition is at this
time." Gekido's father asked "Well what exactly is it?" The medical
ninja sighed and frowned. This meant it was not good at all since this was a
skilled medical ninja. This medical ninja in particular is an uchiha, and one
of the best. The medical ninja said "We really do
not know sir. It is a virus we know for sure, but it is not contagious. Which
this is very odd, and nothing like what I have seen in years. It is
systematically killing all of her red blood cells, and slowly killing her. We
have tried all we could and she is stable at the moment." Gekido
was listening to every detail and thought to himself "What
does this all mean?" Gekido's father sighed at the new and said "Thank you sir and thank you for everything you could
do." The medical ninja nodded and walked away from the room. They
entered to find Gekido's mother lying in bed awake and watching TV. She turned
to look at them and smiled reaching her arms out for a hug. Gekido ran toward
her and hugged her. She seemed fine but a little pale and the virus seemed to
not be there. This was only because she never liked to be weak in anyway, and
would mask it as much as she could. She smiled as Gekido hugged her and she
asked “How are you doing my
son? Are you training like your father told you to?” Gekido nodded with
a smile on his face and said “Yes ma’am I am. I am
getting really strong now. I am hoping to take my genin exam soon so I should
be a real ninja now. Then I will be chunin and all of that stuff.” His
father and mother smiled at him and knew they raised a fine young boy. His mother coughed a bit but seemed fine other
than that. The father hugged her, kissed her, and said “He
is fire natured just like us babe. He is also getting friends.” Gekido’s
mother smiled and said “That is great, and I am glad he is getting friends.” Gekido sat down on one of the chairs
behind next to her. Gekido’s father asked “How soon
do you think you will be getting out of here hun? Did they say anything?” Gekido’s
mom kind of frowned and said “They are not sure about my condition. It seems very
drastic enough to keep me here, but I do not see the point. If I am going to
pass on I want to at least be at home one more time before then. Though enough about
that how have you two been doing?” Gekido’s father sighed and replied “Doing okay so far. Everyone is worried about you, but
they know you are stubborn so they hope the best. We are doing just fine, and we
added another addition to the house.” Gekido frowned a bit after he
heard the bad news. He thought to himself “What if
mom does not come home. What if she dies and I cannot see her anymore? What
if..” He kind of sniffled a bit but held back any tears that might have
developed. He listened as his father continued to talk “Yeah
we are adding in a pool, and a deck to for when the others come over to visit.
We hope to have a pool party or so. I hope you get well so you can come to.” Gekido’s
mother smiled, but her eyes told a different story. Gekido and his father both
knew what this meant. She was getting weaker even though she did not show it to
them. They all tried to smile and laugh but deep down they all knew what would
happen soon. A virus that is spreading through her body systematically killing
cells….this is a very odd virus. Gekido did not want his mother to die, but he
did not want her to suffer either. A doctor came in and said “Excuse me but she is going to need some rest soon.
Please leave in a bit sorry for the rush.” Gekido and his father hugged
and kissed her telling her good bye. Gekido was still sniffling, but still held
back tears as he walked out of the room. His father looked down, smiled at him
and said “I am in as much pain as you are my son,
but we are both holding our own at the moment.” Gekido nodded, and for
his father to say that was amazing. His father always taught him how to control
his emotions, and to not let them interfere. They walked into the elevator and
went down. They left the building and went home.


The next day Gekido’s father got a call early in the morning
about an emergency at the hospital. He hung up the phone and immediately ran to
get Gekido, who was still asleep and got him dressed rushing out of the house
heading to the hospital. They arrived and asked the receptionist “What happened to Suna Uchiha? Where is she at this
moment?” The receptionist typed on the computer and frowned a bit and
said “Urgent Care room go to second floor go
directly to your right and there is a big door.” Gekido and his dad
rushed to the elevator and went up a floor running to the urgent care room
where a medical ninja was standing not letting anyone in. Gekido’s father asked
“My name is Nuko Uchiha I am the husband of Suna Uchiha
what is going on?” The medical ninja’s head tilted down and said “Your wife’s blood count dropped dramatically over night,
and we put her in urgent care. She has been in there for a few hours. I do not
know specifics.” Gekido and his father both sat down out of disbelief in
this situation. Gekido had a single tear run down his face but his expression
stayed the same. His father just sat there with his head down a bit as they
waited. The medical ninja walked over and said “We
have the most skilled medical ninja working in there. The probability that she
will survive is greater. If that makes you feel any better.” That did
make things a little better as they sat there. The urgent care sign was light
bright red indicating that there was someone in there. They sat there for what
seemed like hours upon hours. They were constantly getting up pacing around.
Going to get food and use the bathroom as the medical ninja still stood there rarely
going for a break. The urgent care light was still on through the night and
they were not only concerned for their relative but toward the medical ninja
themselves. Gekido’s father asked the medical ninja “They
have been in there awhile without a break. Are they going to be okay?” The
medical ninja replied “They knew they were in for a
long time. They grabbed what they needed and went in. They had special medical
stuff so they can keep going awhile, but that will take their toll when they
finish.” Gekido’s father said “I am not only
worried about my wife, and I am also worried about the medical ninja in there.”
The medical ninja standing at the door said “Do
not worry sir, and as I said they are the best.” Gekido’s father nodded
and they were still sitting there minutes passed to more hours. Then almost at
the twenty-four hour mark the light turned off. Gekido was already starting to
cry because he could not hold in the sadness anymore. The thought of his mother
dying was the last thing he wanted to think about. The urgent care light went
off and it took a few minutes for the medical ninja to come out. They were drenched
in sweat and looked like ghosts from working so hard. The main medical ninja
walked up to Gekido and his father with a grim look on his face. He then stared
them in the eyes and said “I am sorry, but there
was nothing else we could do for her. When we knew there was nothing else we….ended
her life quickly so she would not feel pain.” Gekido cried as he hit the
floor. Gekido’s father held him and tried to be strong for him and he thanked
the medical ninja who then left them there in peace. Gekido could not stop
crying, and fell deep sadness. He went and sat in a corner for a bit as tried
to calm himself down. The medical ninja rolled his mother’s body out of the
urgent care room with a white sheet over her. Gekido kept crying as he saw his
mother’s lifeless body being rolled out of the room. Gekido’s father knelt down
and tried to smile as he had tears rolling down his face. He picked Gekido up
and sat him on a chair as Gekido sniffled and tried to stop crying in the
middle of the hospital. He noticed as some people started avoiding them out of
respect of them figuring they lost someone. Gekido kept sniffling as he noticed
the people and stood up. He walked slowly out of the second hall. He would stop
at some points and looked back at the urgent care door. He did not hate the
doctors for not being able to save his mother, but he respected them. He
started thinking about becoming a medical ninja to help them and to research
this virus that killed his mother. He was still crying slightly in the elevator
and walking out of the hospital. He hit home, went straight to his room, and
his father sitting in his man cave. Gekido cried all through the night as the
thoughts of his mother passed through his mind. She might have been mean at
times but she was the most loving mother. The next day they went to the
funeral, and tried to pass it on but still keeping the memory of her in their
minds.
