E rank mission for Maku (Leaf raking)
Sat Dec 21, 2013 3:18 am
Mission Name:Rake the leaves
Rank:E
Type:Labor
Character Requirements:Genin+
Mission Location: Takigakure
Word Count Requirements:350
Repeatable?Yes
NPC?No
Reward:200 ryo
Task: The village tree has been shedding like crazy lately. So much that it's leaves are covering the floor of the village. Grab a rake and help the villagers clean up this mess.
Maku walked out into the evening air, with his arms stretched, and slightly bandaged from a rapid monkey incident. He noticed that it was that time of year again, the leaves were falling and with mist and rain from the waterfalls, the streets where slippery, and the smell of a slight mildew from all the leaves filled the air. Knowing that the administration of Takigakure always offered some small amount of compensation to ninja who helped out villagers for manual labor he decided to pitch in.
Grabbing a rake from his parents shed, thinking to himself he really needed to get his own place once he made some more ryo, he began raking up leaves. This wasn’t a very glorious mission, but in its own way it was relaxing. Maku would rake for a while, and then play his harmonica for awhile depending on how he felt. Deciding that it was always important to get some training in, when the opportunity arose, he began to rake faster. In addition he would sign tiger every once in a while to body flicker from place to place, and continue to rake. By doing this he was able to practice his techniques. He even did some water walking to clean up leaves that resided in any of the little ponds, just for fun.
This went on for a couple hours, the sun was hot, but the work was easy enough and felt good in its own way. To see the leaves make large piles and disappear, it felt like he was accomplishing something. The next part of the task was to carry the bags of leaves away for dumping. Though this might seem easy, Maku would load himself up with 4 or 5 bags at a time, thus making the task slightly difficult and giving his arms a decent burn. Running the bags to where they needed to go Maku was happy when the job was done. He knew that not all missions asked of young ninjas where glamorous, so he figured he might as well get used to it.
Jogging to the admin building he was happy to get his reward. He could use some new kunai knives after all, and perhaps some other tools. Starting out as a ninja from a poor family wasn’t easy, as everything seemed to cost so much. However, by training while he worked, he was killing two birds with one stone. He was getting stronger, and making a little ryo on the side at the same time.
