Mission Name: “Deforestation”

Mission Location: Village Gates, Konoha
Word Count Requirements: 400
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 450 Ryo
Kenzo, much like everyday was reporting in to receive another mission. There was a different section this time however, one that said "repair". Never had Kenzo done a repair job, so he toke a file from the section, and opened it. Today's mission choice is... "Deforestation". Upon seeing these words, Kenzo began to read over the file more carefully, and he noticed that the mission had a reward of 450, unlike the rest he had completed which only rewarded the lad with 300 or 400 ryo. Kenzo could use the extra one hundred fifty or fifty ryo. Kenzo nodded to himself before reading over the task description. "A large tree is becoming a problem right outside the village gates. It is growing so close to the gates is becoming a problem militaristically (could be used to sneak into the village). Your job is to take down the tree without destroying the gates." This job seemed easy enough. Kenzo created a single handseal, and, in a flash of speed, he was gone.
Kenzo reappeared standing atop Konoha's gates. The guards immediately toke notice of his appearance, and called him over.
"Watcha doing out here kid?"
Kenzo said nothing. He extended the hand that held the file towards the guards. After taking the file, the guards swiftly scanned it with their eyes, and hnded it back to Kenzo.
"Oh. The tree is that way. Follow the wall for about one and a half clicks away. You can't miss it."
With a nod, Kenzo began to walk along the Village walls. His forehead protector made it obvious to the people within that he too was a citizen of Konoha. Without it, he probably would been shot from his perch. Still, the endless walking made Kenzo's legs tired. Why had he wasted his time walking it the first place? Kenzo activated his favorite Jutsu, and began flying over the forest around the village. He came upon a large tree that was touching the top of the village wall, and sighed. Finally. Upon landing on the wall, Kenzo looked at the large tree before creating a single handseal.
Saisho no Hono
Kenzo mouthed his thoughts as the tip of the index finger of his right hand burst into flames. Kenzo poked the tree branch with that finger tip, and suddenly, flames were spreading from branch to branch. Kenzo extended his hand, and a thin red spear began to form from the palm of his hand. Upon nearing the tree, the spear formed a wall at it's end, and that wall began to grow until in formed a complete wall around the burning tree. It didn't take long for the tree to burn away, not that Kenzo would mind. As the flames spread across the tree the "wall" around the tree began to grow taller to ensure that no flaming pieces fell from the quarantined area. When the tallest pieces of the tree fell, the barrier formed a large dome around the burning tree, and, in moments, the tree was gone. Kenzo held the technique for as long as he could, and when he could no longer hold the jutsu, he released it. All that was left in the place of the tree was a massive pile of ash.
With the mission completed, Kenzo returned to the village to collect his reward. Maybe there would be another mission to clean up the ash?
