Resounding Success [NK]

Negotiations had gone over rather well. Bane would have been happy if the meeting between the two leaders had not ended with a war, so the fact that it ended with an alliance between the two villages was a resounding success. Now Bane found himself with not much to do. Once again he found himself reclining on a deck chair on one of the beaches of the islands. In his hand was a glass of water, he did not feel like drinking so early in the day, and he sat with a grin on his face as he watched the decorations being taken down. There had been a rather nice celebration the night before, it seemed that the citizens of Shimagakure were also happy that the negotiations had gone well. Perhaps they were simply happy to know that Bane was able to make such alliances. Well, at least it kept the commoners happy enough not to rebel against him. At least for now anyway. He smiled despite the rather morbid thoughts of being overthrown, his mood would not be soured easily right now. Reminding himself that he needed to compliment Naoki on his hospitality to the quests he also made a note to find out where his other Jounin was. It had been quite awhile since he had been around and seeing how he did not authorise the man's leaving of the village he assumed the man was still around. If the man had left the village however, that would anger Bane greatly.

But the man did not have an evidence to suggest the Jounin had left the village his mood remained the same. Taking a sip of water he stretched out his legs and relaxed into the chair. From under his shades he watched the sun in it's slow ascent into the sky. It seemed like it was rather early in the day, though he wasn't sure of the exact time. He assumed that it would be around the time that Naoki would have stopped drinking and went to bed, so it would possibly be a few more hours until he saw the man wandering the islands. To occupy the time until then he had taken to chatting with a few of the commoners that were also taking the time to relax after the rather stressful days of preparation. Whenever he had spare time Bane did enjoy talking to the common folk now and again. His reign over the village had not been going on for long, so he still needed to keep the people happy until he could prove himself to be a capable leader. Then again perhaps he did not need to, maybe another display of his strength to the people would do the same job but with less effort. Bane needed to think more on how he would deal with people.

Sanada had avoided being given another mission by claiming to have a sore throat and he couldn't tell if it was anything serious, so he had requested to be allowed to go to the hospital and get checked out. Of course this wasn't where he was headed on such a beautiful day on the horizon, Sanada smiled with both of his hands in his pockets as he walked with out a purpose but still managed to hold an up right position. He had lit a cigarette beforehand and now it lay on his lips slightly tilted to the left barely hanging there as he sauntered about.

Apparently there had been a party here not long ago as he saw the villagers taking down the decorations for it."Ah, I bet that party was the epitome of relaxation" he would say to himself before inhaling a drag of his smoke and exhaling it back into the world tilting his head and breathing upwards. Taking one hand out of his pocket to let it causally hang and wave by his right side as he walked, he could honestly pass as a model save for the headband he had wrapped around his left forearm closer to the shoulder.

There was this really cute girl that worked in this area that Sanada liked to come see when he had the time and could sneak away from duty...which was quite often. he didn't see her in his initial look out over the area, bringing his right arm up to his forehead he would let it rise up and move aside his messy hair that had fallen in front of his left eye to increase his field of vision. Making his way over to where a gathering of commoners were located he didn't understand why everyone was crowding this one area, Ugh, I hope this doesn't lead to more work, Or has everyone else finally seen how cute that girl is?" he would say to himself quizzically before hastening his walk in that direction. He would rather be tasked with performing his duties than find out his crush had been won over by someone else. Pushing past the common folk making his way to the inner circle to see who was gathering such a crowd he began to get agitated. He also almost lost his smoke brushing by so many people.

Sanada hated crowds especially crowds trying to talk to the girl he wanted to talk to, as he pushed by the last person making it to the front he immediately turned right back around into the crowd before freezing."Please tell me that's not my boss, please tell me he didn't see me,of course he saw you dummy,ahhhh he's going to make me do so much work" he would say mumbling before quickly turning back around. He took the cigarette out of his mouth with his left index and pointer finger, while bringing his right hand up to slowly scratch the back of his head ruffling his black hair even more."Heya boss, uhhh need anything" he would ask sheepishly, he would hope that he wouldn't be asked why he was here instead of out performing his duties, hell maybe he didn't even know he had shirked them for the 100th time, but really "Heya boss" was the best he had? With his sheepish smile and still rubbing his head he would wait to see what happened.

Damn, this was early... Naoki normally stayed up late, the parties and all, so he usually also woke up late. But since he had done so for the past... ugh, many days, the night before he did not remain to party long and left about the same time the village leader left. Although, that was already past dawn, so.. once could say it was late, but then it was early... compared to... regardless. The Jounin got up, yep, yesterday was a big day.. night, uhm, both. The fight with Saiga proved him that he was not as weak as he might have thought, but that last action the leader of waterfalls took still pointed out that he could use more training. He was certainly lazy to train by himself and there was a limited supply of good people in the village. Maybe he could ask Kaede for a rematch, after all this time he has his sunflies and is more used to utilizing the sharingan.

...Water. After lazily standing up from the bed, the Jounin made his way to the kitchen, poured himself a glass of water and let it down the throat. Hm, and he did not even drink that much yesterday, with all the guess and stuff. After consuming something he found in the fridge with a questionable appearance that slightly worried him, Naoki got back to his room and geared up. The clothing was not much different from what he normally wore, mostly black and dark blue. He liked those colors, what can he do? The guy did not wear any armor and had limited amount of weaponry, so he did not linger at the task long.

After heading out of his house, the Uchiha decided to go to the place where the party was held. He was not sure how long Kaede might sleep, if he was used to such parties and staying up late, where he would be once he got up and so on, so he thought he'd spend some time there, maybe help with cleaning the stuff, maybe just watch the girls do it. But surprise surprise, there were quite a few people there and he recognized a chakra signature in right in the thick of it, it was his leader's. Avoiding the mass, he would circle around, finding a seat and getting a drink from a lovely girl who blushed after getting a wink in exchange. Yep, a fine day.

Bane had lost track of how long he had actually been talking. All he did know was that several people had come and gone during that time. It seemed the plebeians all had something they wanted to say about the recent action of forming an actual alliance. More than a few voiced their dislike of the idea of working with other villages, something that Bane did not quite understand. He did assure them however that it was for the best and after a few more words such people departed. The time that passed after that was rather pleasant. Many offers of congratulations and also drinks were thrown Bane's way. It was a shame that Bane wasn't in quite the mood for a drink right now. It was also quite lucky that he would soon be spared from the commoners soon enough. The approach of two of his shinobi warranted an excuse to stop with the pleasing the poor people for today thankfully. 

Even with a few people talking to him at once Bane managed to pick out the shinobi that had greeted him. He made a show of turning fully to face the man who stood before him. Taking a moment to examine the man before him he tried to put a name to a face. It was a blessing and a curse that the number of shinobi of Shimagakure was quite small. While the strength of the village suffered from it, it allowed Bane to remember pretty much all of the shinobi rather well. Even if they had not met many times before he had made a point of memorising most of the files he had on his men. It took Bane about a second or so to bring the name into his mind at which point he smiled towards him. While he did not really require anything right now he took this opportunity to rid himself of the crowd around him. Clearing his throat he spoke out to the 'masses', "It seems I will have to cut this short my friends, business as usual I suppose." It was rather a weak attempt at getting them to leave, but the commoners seemed to accept this as true and dispersed.

After the crowd had disappeared for the most part he once more turned his attention to the shinobi, who if he remembered correctly was Sanada. "We're experience a lull in activity presently, though if you had been around yesterday you could have helped with diplomacy. Oh well." the man gave a half-hearted shrug. It was around this time that he noticed Naoki from the corner of his vision. Raising his hand in a greeting to the seated man he called out towards him. "You did a good job yesterday Naoki. It's glad to know that at least one of our Jounin is somewhat helpful." Bane felt strange after saying that, mostly because the last part had slipped out without him meaning it to. Cursing himself for displaying a dislike for one of his own shinobi he quickly took a sip of water before deciding to address the two of them. "So what brings the both of you here?" With not much else to do at this point Bane decided to begin with small talk.

Sanada was happy that the boss didn't scold him for not being about on his duties, he calmly placed the cigarette back into his mouth. His name was even remembered although they hadn't met as much, of course he would know his name, he was the village leader after all. After the boss had dismissed most of the commoners that had propagated the area mush to Sanada's pleasure as well since the thought of crowds really irked him. "Sorry for not being around boss, crowds are just so much work" he would say rubbing his face with his left open palm.

It wasn't until after the boss had said something that Sanada noticed the other who he recognized as a....jounin, this kept getting better and better. Two higher ups in one area he was sure to be stressed out after this meeting. Taking another puff from his cigarette after placing it on his lips before answering the bosses question "I was just making my rounds" he would say not wanting to tell his leader that yet again he was slacking off.

Slowly the crowd would disperse, people walking away to mind their own business. Sadly, the pretty girl disappeared somewhere too. As the scene cleared up, Naoki would spot the two ninja, one of them being the village leader who had had seen but a few hours ago, the other he did not know, but it was certainly not one of the other Jounin, probably a Chuunin or even a Genin... Speaking of which, he prayed to god this was not a Genin and that Kaede was not planning to make the guy Uchiha's apprentice. Because that would suck, big time.
As Kaede came closer and complimented Naoki on a job well done, he would raise his drink in response. The guy was ready to help his village anytime and yesterday was actually a very interesting way to do that, a rich experience. The way the Uzumaki finished his phrase was kind of unexpected and made the Jounin raise an eyebrow slightly, which was immediately disguised by him simulating an interest in his drink, which he just sipped. The following question was a start for some small talk, something Naoki was not much interested in. So, after respectfully listening to they other guy's response (which made him draw a conclusion that Kaede did not bring him with him, but them meeting here in fact occurred accidentally), the young seal master would stand up, finish the drink and after putting the empty glass on a nearby table announce "Well, I was looking for you, so I could ask for a rematch. The last time you caught me kind of unprepared, which is something I hope to have remedied for today." 

Kaede nodded to the explanation that Sanada gave him. He understood that some people did not enjoy being around crowds, though it slightly annoyed him that he had shinobi that could be affected by such a thing. Perhaps with time he would be able to change such a weakness. Though the response to his question of why he was here lessened the annoyance considerably. At least Sanada was actually working, which is more than he could say for that Senju jounin, perhaps he should demote him at some point. That train of thought ended quickly however, as the reply from Naoki required his full attention. "A rematch?" Kaede paused for a moment, his free hand cupping his chin as he thought over his plans for the day. He didn't think there was anything that pressing for him to attend to at the moment, so he should have enough free time for another spar.

"I have enough time for another round sure." Kaede did wish that he had paid somewhat more attention to the spar that had happened yesterday between Saiga and Naoki. After all it seemed the Naoki had fought the man to a draw, so perhaps the power gap between him and Naoki had closed already. Such a thought was slightly disturbing, though his face did not show such emotion. Taking another sip from his drink he cast his gaze over towards Sanada. "You're free to join in if you want." He offered with a smile. Accompanying the smile was an aura, as Kaede for the second time in a few days showed off his power. The aura flickered into existence only for a brief moment, though it was enough to give a hint of his power to the two of them. For Naoki who had seen it before Kaede did not expect much of a reaction, instead he was wondering how Sanada would react to the display. Perhaps he would pay it no mind and would accept the offer, perhaps he would refuse. All would be revealed with the man's response.

Sanada just wanted to enjoy his day lazily and bask in the sun, not to mention talk to that cute girl that Naoki had flirted with. He wasn't too happy about that, she after all was the girl he was looking for. Rubbing his hair slightly with the palm of his left hand he brushed the thought aside. Thinking on such things was such a waste of resting time. The two higher ups were talking about duels and rematches and all Sanada heard in his head was work,stress,exertion,fatigue.

He made a sickly face as well just thinking about it maybe it was time to exit the area before he was asked to join. As he was stepping backwards with both hands in his pocket the boss had said he could join as well. Now he was stuck in a tight spot, did he say he needed to leave he wasn't feeling well, no he had clearly looked healthy before he was asked. Sigh he had to accept after all how often do you get to spar with the village leader and a Jounin. Taking in a deep breath he exhaled his answer sure boss, I'd love to join in on the action. He could see his life flashing before his eyes, all the nothing he hadn't got to do floating away.

After he answered the question the boss decided to do something else maybe as a show of force but whatever it was it gave Sanada a chill down his back that visibly showed as the cigarette dropped out of his mouth hitting the dirt beneath him. This was a bad idea... he would mumble to himself while rolling his dress shirts sleeves up to his elbows.

Naoki was happy to hear the leader accept his offer. The sharingan would flick on almost immediately, even though the man himself did not intend any actions right now. He was a bit surprised to hear Kaede invite the other guy was well. Based on everything sharingan could gather about the young man, he would most likely have a hard time in this fight. Then came the aura, it seemed that Kaede had a habit of displaying it before a fight, maybe as an attempt to seed doubt in their hearts, something it appeared to be successful at, based on the details he could see in Sanada. Evaluating the islander, considering him for an ally in this fight, Naoki would breathe in then respond to the aura in kind. Like before, his chakra was dark and deep, taking shape of a nighthawk with a most sinister look. It was cold and blue, a cloak of flaming nightsky. During the exchange the Uchiha would examine the leader's chakra. The response would not be somewhat matching Kaede's, but hopefully it would show the man's growth, that while he was not quite on the level yet, he was getting there.

As both auras faded away, Naoki would speak up. "Well, assuming our friend here does not decide against his participation, shall we make this a two versus one? After all, I don't expect to be able to take on you all by myself..." It was directed more at Kaede than the Chuunin, which reminded Naoki "...Also, how about we keep this at half speed to make it fair?"

Kaede's suspicions were somewhat confirmed when Naoki mirrored his display. The jounin's strength was growing incredibly fast. He would have to keep an eye on him, perhaps a time would come when he would be able to overthrow Kaede. He doubted that Naoki would try anything like that, but it paid to be cautious now and again. The reaction from Sanada amused Kaede greatly, though he did not show it on his face. That was the kind of reaction he was hoping to get, so he was happy that he got the desired results. Then Naoki suggested that for the spar to be a two versus one fight again. Kaede didn't mind fighting the both of them, it would be a nice change of pace. "Two versus one is fine." Though the next suggestion of Naoki's irked him. He suspected the suggestion to go slower was to help the Chuunin, and also an attempt to nullify the advantage that his chains gave him. Kaede weighed his options, and decided that he wanted to take it easy and relax a bit. "Half speed is fine as well." While waiting for both of them to agree, plan, or whatever they were going to do, he placed his hands in his pockets. It was not as if he needed his hands for this fight.
