Guess who and other assorted ninja games (P,NK,IO)
Mon Feb 17, 2014 11:26 pm
Haru sat in the bench at the park where his new genin team was scheduled to meet him. It seemed almost a pure coincidence that the three genin he was in charge of would be all people he already knew. That kid, Keisuke, who mutilated the poor tree, Youta, who was, by coincidence , recently mutilated, and Sayuri, the girl he threw off the training towers. Great first impressions all around. To give them a sort of test right off the bat, he had made sure the kids would not be informed of who their leader was. He decided to make the kids guess which person was their leader. Before their arrival, he used the mizu bunshin jutsu to create four clones from a nearby pond. Each clone would use a transformation jutsu to take on the guise of someone else, before having a seat at one of the two benches.
To Haru’s left sat a clone taking on the guise of Kenchi, to his right, a clone that looked like Shinji. On the bench next to that one sat two clones impersonating Den and Takeo, with the clone of Takeo wrapping his arm around and cuddling up to the clone of Den. He figured if those clones were imitating those two, he’d have to make it convincing. Haru himself had three scrolls in his pocket, each marked with the name of one of the genin, ready for his next test. On his lap was his own egg, which seemed to be radiating heat. It was so comfortable, in fact, that he found himself drifting off to sleep.

[I'll consider my Chakra Senses maxed, if you don't mind, because that's what I am working on in another thread atm and that thread happens before this on the timeline]
The girl was called. Not by a voice, she was called with works and letters, meanings and bindings unseen, social. Apparently somebody has assigned her into a Genin team. A second chance for her maybe, considering her first team did not really happen. With all that transpired - the girl becoming a pupil to Yozora, an ANBU of the village, until her master mysterious disappears until a stranger named Haru informs Youta of the woman's death, then all this hassle with Yozora's body, which costed the girl a lot of pain and blood. She was finally ready to move on, in one sense or another at least, and now she would be assigned to another team. What a distraction.
Nevertheless, she would not ignore this. One could say her honor bound her to answer this call, regardless if it will work out or not. And she kind of felt like leave the house and doing something other than training. This being their first meeting, she had to expect some sort of tests, as that was exactly what happened the last time and they failed. So, needless to say she would go out in full gear. Her blue and gray clothing would be shrouded under the veil of black cloak. Under the cloak, on the back of her waist were also two ninjato blades. Over the cloak, on her back were two crossed sheathes holding katanas, both belonged to Yozora, one of them a blade called Shigure and the second a nameless sword that belonged to her family, the Shinkou clan. As far as she knew there were no other Shinkou in Tengakure to return the blade to, she guessed the clan was either foreign, much like her own, or now completely dead if Yozora was the last of her kind. Youta would wear her forehead protector as a hairband, it would even have a black ribbon on it. Around her neck would be a lowered multiweave mask, in which she knew could be very useful at times, but she would not wear without a reason. Overall, if she were to put on the hood with the mask and her eyes glowed red, she would be almost identical to Yozora. That thought did not cross her mind though.
Looking like that the girl would enter the part of the park where their team was supposed to meet. The mysterious detail on it did not mention who will be their leader and Youta did not really recognize any other names. Simply walking past the trees she would soon sense and then spot a fairly interesting bunch. Surprise surprise, but the girl would recognize them all. On one bench was the third Tenkage Denkiteki, who she heard was responsible for the miracle that brought her back to life and with full functionality. Next to him was Takeo, who was in turn responsible for all the damage that Denkiteki had to fix. On another bench were three people, one Youta would recognize as the second Tenkage Shinji, next to him Haru and next to Haru was Kenchi, who she had met in the plains a couple days ago. This was truly intriguing, seeing all these powerful people in one place and no idea which was supposed to be their leader. The Kages leading a squad was doubtful, not to mention that if she was right, the second was not even supposed to be in Tengakure, he was like traveling or something. What struck her as strange was that she felt all of them, except Haru to have roughly the same chakra levels, in case of Kenchi and Takeo they would be lower than what she remembered, while Haru's were the highest in the group, almost double of everybody else. That was truly strange, considering that two of them were Kages. That and the way Takeo was leaning on Denkiteki, suggesting something weird, if not unnatural. So, to solve this little dilemma the girl would briefly activate her doujutsu, Seigan and inspect the five before her. She could now clearly see that all four, except Haru were identical when it came to chakra, in both quality and quantity. So, one could say she solved this little puzzle. But, if Haru engineered this, she would not want to break it, not just yet anyway. So, instead of walking up to Haru as one might expect, she would actually walk up to Takeo and bring out a line of "Ay, how you doin'?"

He yawned as he eyed the paper in his hands, scratching the back of his head as he did so. Apparently, they had finally assigned him to a team. Though, for some reason they didn't give him information on the leader. Keisuke deeply sighed before shoving the piece of paper into his back pocket. He really didn't want to move from his spot, it was so comfy. Too bad, didn't seem there was much of a choice at the moment. "So we're supposed to meet at the park... hm," he mumbled. Luckily, he was already nearby so that wasn't much of a problem. The real matter at hand was how he was going to present himself. Nothing too flashy and nothing too boring... 'I could just figure that out once I arrive there.' he thought. Keisuke got up from the bench he sat upon, one in front of a weapon shop. The boy quickly activated his Chakra Suppression technique and made his way to his destination.
It didn't take too long for him to reach the specified park though. In fact, he could assume it was less than 5 minutes. Kei stopped walking once he reached a tree in the area, pressing his body against it for something to lean on. He could spot some people around, say, 15 meters away from himself. There weren't much familiar faces, only..."Hey.. it's that Haru guy," he spoke at a low enough tone only he could hear. The boy decided he would just go over to Haru, not even paying the others any mind. However, there was that one duo that seemed to be in a... weird position. Kei straight up assumed they were gay and decided to leave them be. Though, before he could take one step forward, he froze. He still hasn't made any sort of presentation! The genin almost face palmed, but refrained from doing so. He might as well do something simple that would just be forgotten in the next moment.. not that he would enjoy it.
Keisuke surveyed the area, this time actually inspecting the other people who were there. What caught his eye was a girl who seemed to be around the same age as him. There was a possibility she was on his team... so he might as well say hello. He grinned before making his way behind her, since he was already out of her line of sight. "Heyo!" he would've shouted, hoping it would give her a tiny scare. Rather than sticking around, Keisuke walked over to Haru, his grin growing larger and larger. "Hi!" he would've greeted, "Such a coincidence to see you here!"

Sayuri wasn't too thrilled to meet up with whoever her sensei would be. Nonetheless, she couldn't refuse a meeting with her team, which would just give off a bad first impression. She was dressed in her usual outfit, walking towards her team's rendezvous point. She took the route that passed through the market district which she regretted almost instantaneously. Merchants would be shouting at the top of their lungs about their wares. Each shout getting louder and louder as one merchant tried to beat another's prices and items. A few even came up to bystanders shoving their merchandise in their faces. Some even came up to Sayuri, but she simply gave them a "stare of impending doom" which scared them enough to make them back away.
Sayuri would reach the park just after the other two genin. She looked around for a while for setting her eyes on a few characters. She walked over to what seemed to be quite an old tree, simply leaning on it with one shoulder. She could see Haru from her position, but simply scowled at him. She also noticed an unknown man to his left as well as the former Tenkage, Shinji on his right. She then turned her head and saw the current Tenkage, Denkiteki cuddling up with Takeo. Sayuri simply raised an eyebrow at this in confusion and shock. Calculating who her team leader was, she scrapped both Tenkages as well as the man romancing it up with Denkiteki, doubting that a man waiting to meet his team would get all lovey-dovey with someone else.
Sayuri's eyes would then settle on Kenchi and Haru. She slowly made her way over and greeted Haru, Kenchi and the boy speaking to them. Her greeting wouldn't be specific to any of them, but just a general one. Although, she did keep her attention mostly on Haru as the boy around her age would be speaking to him. She wouldn't even attempt to hide her distaste from him, scowling at him the whole time Keisuke would be speaking to him.

Haru opened his eyes slowly as his students entered the area, one by one. His byakugan, activated underneath his headband, which covered that eye, showed him just what happened. First was Youta, who stood there for a long while, activating some sort of dojutsu… Haru cursed himself silently as he realized he had forgotten to suppress the chakra of his clones and himself… He couldn’t be sure if the dojutsu gave chakra vision or not, but based on the fact that the only two dojutsu he could think of had that power, he figured it was a safe guess she had cracked the code. Oddly, the way her eyes were glowing reminded him of the way his own sensei, Rin, had used a technique that did just that. He never really knew what it did, he assumed it was something to do with his sensory technique, which he also knew virtually nothing about. He’d have to ask Youta about that sometime, he was curious as to whether she was connected to Rin somehow. Surprisingly, she approached Takeo, rather then him. Takeo honestly seemed like the last choice anybody would make, what with his disgusting personal hygiene and unpleasant disposition. Haru wondered for a moment what she was doing, before realizing she was probably trying not to blow his cover. The clone of Takeo would nod at Youta, deciding to make some small talk to see if he could confirm Youta knew Haru was the real leader, and not Takeo.
”…You’re the girl who tried breaking into my house, aren’t you?” the clone would ask, as Haru was unaware that Youta had gone back to his house afterwards.
Just then Keisuke would make his entry, shouting loudly and attempting to scare Youta. Haru rather doubted she would be very startled by his entry, if she possessed the same chakra sensory capabilities as Rin did. He seemed in a far better mood then when he last met the boy, which struck him as odd. He didn’t seem like a very optimistic person. It was then that Haru realized the boy was speaking to him. How did he know-? Lucky guess, perhaps? Some sort of chakra sensory like Youta had? Or maybe Haru was just the only person the boy knew that was there. He figured that was likely to happen. He would sit up slowly in the bench as he realized he would probably have to respond to Keisuke.
”Oh, it’s you. Come to mutilate another tree?” He would ask sarcastically, looking at the boy with his one uncovered eye, a deactivated sharingan. He had yet to acknowledge nor ask if Haru was his sensei, so he wouldn’t count the boy out quite yet.
Sayuri too arrived, leaning against the tree and sizing them up. Haru would admit, he probably should have picked ninja other then the two Tenkage, as they would be rather easily recognizable. She seemed to use the same logic Keisuke did, and approached the bench where Haru and the clones of Kenchi and Shinji were sitting, as well as where Keisuke was standing. Or maybe she was just following by example? She seemed rather… unhappy… to see Haru, which was understandable to a certain degree, but the whole skyscraper incident was at least partially her fault… She didn’t say anything to him in particular, so he would keep his mouth shut. The clones of Kenchi and Shinji, however, would both greet the girl, smiling and saying something along the lines of "Hello." Not at the same time, of course, because that would be kind of obvious.
No matter, it seemed his first little test had nearly been passed, but he didn’t really mind, it was just the warm up.

Listening to the clone's reply, Youta would smile. "Last time I checked, I succeeded. But then again, we already confirmed that when I came to visit a couple days after the incident... not that Haru would know anything about it unless Takeo himself told him, am I right?" She was essentially teasing the clone, as it made the mistake, blowing its own cover through outdated intel. It was about that time that she would hear footsteps behind, as if someone was trying to sneak up on her. It would take a moment of focus to activate the sensory and determine that there was in fact nobody behind her, due to the boy's chakra signature being masked, which Youta would not know at the time. Simply because of the odd situation, both her hands would slip onto one of the ninjato's sheath and hilt, this preparation however being masked under the cloak, maybe visible to the two clones of front of her, but surely not to whoever or whatever was behind her. Of course, it was only natural to turn her head and confirm if there was actually somebody behind her, however that would not happen before the shout came. A shout that given the already alerted state would force Youta to do nothing else, but to react by unsheathing her blade and swinging it in the most efficient way she knew. The attack would happen at roughly double the speed the young prankster could move, not that anyone would know that. And given that it would be concealed under the cloak until the last moment and that the boy did not assume or prepare for such a response, probably thinking of not sticking around and maybe walking over to the other bench, the coincidence of meeting Haru would likely not happen, as Youta's blade would only be stopped at his throat, making it unwise to take a step forward.
That would be the pose she would freeze in, provided the attack was not stopped or countered somehow. The girl eyes would be glowing faint blue once more, although without use, as apparently whatever it was that made the boy untraceable to her sensory, also made it impossible to see his chakra with doujutsu. So really, at this point she had no idea to who's throat she was holding the blade. Thinking back, Youta realized that the shout might have meant something, unfortunately she was too busy swinging the blade with all her strength that she forgot to hear what it was. "Well?" But she would give the guy another chance.

It seemed that barely even a moment after he shouted his greeting did the girl aim a ninjato for his neck. Wow, she was a jumpy wasn't she? Kei immediately stopped in his tracks, his body completely stiffening. However, a crooked smile would form on his face only seconds after. "You're quite fast," he commented, "But a bit too alert in my opinion... or is that a good thing? Anyways, I was only giving a simple Hello. Maybe it was too loud for your liking." He took a simple step backwards after relaxing himself. He wasn't too fond of a blade being that close to his neck. Then again, just who was? Keisuke shoved his right hand into his pocket as the smile on his face grew. "My name is Keisuke. Yours is... ?" he would drift off and wait for her to finish the sentence. Only after her response would Kei lift his left hand to give a lazy wave at Haru.
He didn't get to walk up to Haru and say "Hi" due to what had occurred. Though, a simple wave would still satisfy him. It was at that moment did he notice the other female in the area. If this girl would be on his team as well.. then it would be quite strange. Usually genin teams would consists of two males and a single female. Oh well, it wasn't as if he cared.. so he should stop dwelling on the topic. Keisuke turned to face the white haired individual in front of him before speaking. "I'm gonna go chat with the tree hugger over there. Thanks for that pleasant greeting by the way," One could hear the sarcasm in that last sentence. Kei would send the girl another grin before heading over to Haru, which was what he originally intended. He stopped around a meter away rather than standing right in front of the Anbu member.
"Yo."

Sayuri would have seen Keisuke greet the girl near Takeo and the Tenkage. She found the girl's reaction slightly amusing in a sinister way, almost cutting Keisuke's throat. She couldn't hear anything from the tree she'd been standing under and didn't look back at Haru. She would continue watching the two until Keisuke returned to speak to Haru once more. At that point Sayuri would move over towards Keisuke.
Sayuri would begin getting suspicious as to why so many random characters are in the area, especially the current and former Tenkage. She would look at Haru who would seem to be the only one actually paying attention to whatever was going on. The two on either sides of him seemed to be staring in her general direction, but their expressions were blank. She turned back towards sword-girl and looked at the couple, but denied the fact that the Tenkage would be out and about, occupying himself with a man.
Sayuri decided to test out her theory and looked at Haru. She examined him a little more and compared his facial expressions with those next to him. "When are you gonna get rid of your clones? I doubt people want to see two men falling head over heels for each other in the middle of the park..." Even though she was unsure of what she was even saying, she was able to speak with a tone of confidence. Her eyes remained on Haru, waiting for something in his expression, a twitch, anything, something that would let Sayuri know that he was outwitted.

Haru couldn’t help but grin at Youta’s attack on Keisuke. She was a jumpy one, alright. Either way, that seemed to put him in his place, until he started talking and made it seem as if he didn’t care. Sayuri, on the other hand, seemed to have figured out the whole clone thing. He wasn’t quite sure if she actually knew, perhaps Den and Takeo had given him away, but Youta sure did, since apparently she had met Takeo after the incident. Crap. Still, Youta seemed to be cleverer then most, so it was expected that she would figure it out, in the end. The other two, he wasn’t quite sure about, as he hadn’t really seen a definite method they had used to prove the clone theory. Still, she cracked the code, so Haru would stop wasting time.
”Fine, fine, you got me.” He would say, rolling his eyes as the clones each dissolved into a rush of water, splashing towards the three kids and threatening to soak them. Now it was just Haru and the three of them left. He would place his egg at his feet, pulling the three scrolls from his robe pockets.
”Alright, all three of you know me, so I won’t bother with introductions. But I’d like you to tell us a little about yourself for the rest of the team. Your name, your hobbies, what you like, what you hate, that kinda thing.” He would say, rolling the three scrolls in his hand as he waited for them to each finish their introductions.
Once they were done, he would hold out the scrolls for them to see.
”Now, you’ve probably all heard of the bells exercise that almost every sensei does, sort of a tradition. Well, I hate that tradition. My sensei didn’t do it, and I find it boring myself. So, we’re mixing it up a little.” He would say, tossing a scroll at each of them. The one labeled “Youta” would go to Keisuke, “Sayuri” would go to Youta, and “Keisuke” would go to Sayuri. Haru would slump back into the chair, grinning as he explained the rules. He would toss them in such a way that it was impossible to tell who had which scroll, unless you were holding it.
”Alright, each of you has a scroll labeled with the name of one of your teammates. The objective is to get your own scroll, and touch the egg before it is taken from you.” He would say, pointing to his egg. “Once you touch it, you are safe. The first two to tag the egg with their scrolls get to keep the gift inside them. The last person gets a punishment that will be revealed later. Any questions?” He would ask. If nobody asked anything, he would wave them off. ”Get to it then, you three.”

Youta would glare at Keisuke for a bit. She did not like his reply, which made it seem like she was the one at fault. "People don't normally conceal their chakra and sneak up on others they don't know in order to say hello." Would be her reply. Actually, the guy should have felt lucky she managed to halt her attack on time, as it would have been very easy not to. Nevertheless, he did not seem to harbor any ill intentions towards her, even if obviously cocky and ignorant, so she let him go, taking the blade away and sheathing it again. As he took a few steps back, he would introduce himself and ask for her name. At this point the girl already had a fairly negative disposition towards him, so with a slight frown she would respond. "Youta. Now wipe that smirk off your face." From his next couple sentences she would knew he did not feel much different about her either, not that she cared, it was his fault as far as she was concerned.
At about that time Youta would see origin of the other chakra signature she had only now noticed, another girl who was standing by Haru, saying something. In a moment the clones would all turn into water and splash down. Youta would step aside to make sure she didn't get soaked and then made her way after Keisuke, towards Haru. As she neared him, he would speak, asking them all to tell something about themselves. Not the one for idles, Youta would begin. The sooner she started, the sooner this would be over. "My name is Youta Rentei. I don't really have hobbies, although I suppose one could say I like literature. I prefer night and calm ambient, mutual respect is important to me. I dislike selfish, disrespectful and honorless people. That's about it." With the last batch her eyes would momentarily dart at Keisuke, then back to Haru. When she was finished she would nod and let others speak.
When they were done, Haru would reveal three scrolls. Each labeled with one of their names, if her eyes did not deceive her. After a bit he would explain to them the test. Seeing as the students would be facing each other, this appeared to be a much easier test than the one Youta had to go through with her master. And she did not hear any mentions of sending anyone back to the academy.
Although the scrolls were thrown to them in such a way that she could not see what scrolls were the others given, there were enough details given in the explanation. Each of them would have a scroll of another, meaning they would not hold a scroll with their own name. With a quick glance the girl confirmed holding Sayuri's scroll. Which meant that Keisuke was holding her scroll and Sayuri his, because otherwise Keisuke would be holding his own scroll. The egg that was on Haru's lap and what was apparently sealed in each scroll, would peak Youta's interest slightly, but now was not the time for that. She would have to keep her mind on winning this and she already had a plan, although for the last time she would run through it in her mind, confirm everyone's positions - the other two were standing less than 5 meters from her. When the signal was given, she would throw the scroll just above her, hardly even raising her arm and then immediately would clap her hands together. A mighty gust of wind would be summoned, most likely blowing both her teammates off their feet, in less time than was needed to perform a second hand seal. The wind would also pick up the scroll and send it high up, about half minute until it landed, the time that Youta would keep track off. 1 She would then do a second hand seal, folding her fingers into the ram seal and activating body flicker. 2 As their opponents were still in the air, Youta would flicker behind the boy holding her scroll, from his perspective it would most likely seem like an instant transition. 3 From behind she would thrust her left hand, striking the hand holding the scroll, relieving him of it, grabbing it with her right hand and jumping away. That is, unless he found a way to avoid this fate. 7 As she stopped, they would finally land and the girl would open the scroll, letting the egg appear and then touching it. Unless she was somehow stopped, Youta would remain still, for she had already finished her part, the remaining seconds would tick away and Sayuri's scroll would drop at Youta's original position. If not however... then who knows, what might happen.
