Nine Lives

A few others had taken this mission along with the Demon, and he couldn't blame them, it was good money for such an easy task. Or at least, that's what everyone thought in the morning, when the search for these five cats had began. But now, mid afternoon, easy wasn't quite the word they'd use to describe it. A few of the Genin, the younger ones, had gone fully retarded and were wearing cat ears and cat tails to conduct these searches. They must've thought that dressing up like sexually confused twerps would get the cats to come out. Evidently they were wrong.
The Demon had arrived late to the scene, having woken up quite late. He was afraid that the cats were found and the payment was already gone. But when he arrived at the old lady's house, she said that no one had retrieved any cats yet. That's when he asked about who the search party was. She remembered only a few of their names, but could tell Asura that they were mostly kids. Kids, he thought. He was on a mission with a bunch of fuckin' kids. Money really was rough.
He was invited into the lady's home for some snacks, but the smell of cat fur had driven him to refuse. But instead of refusing, he simply asked her for a favor. When old people want to be nice to you in a way that you don't want them to be, you give them another option to be nice, and they'll take it. He asked for her portable stove, a pot, and some milk. With all three of these he went to the roof-top of her building and poured the milk into the pot. Then he put it on the stove and lit the fire under it.
Crossing his legs he allowed himself to lean back, looking up at the blue of the sky that was slowly convinced into orange. The evening was coming quickly and it would be difficult to find those cats in the dark. Waiting an entire day would allow the perimeter of search to increase too wide. They could be anywhere by noon of tomorrow and the bustling sounds of the village were not conducive to the idiots that searched for these cats manually in every alley-way.
He closed his eyes and allowed for the first hints of dreams to invade his mind. He dreamed of that girl he had met, the annoying one with the ridiculous fighting abilities. He dreamed of the way she kissed him. And while she hadn't used her tongue before, he felt it now. It was smaller than he had imagined it would be, but one could not blame their dreams for the way they crafted makeshift reality. He didn't kiss her back, even if it was a dream, somehow afraid that maybe the girl would find out about it and never let him live it down.
But the kissing continued.
"Oh what the FUCK!" His eyes shot open, seeing first all five of the missing cats surrounding him, one of them licking his cheek and mouth. The next thing his senses picked up was the strong smell of milk from the pot he was heating. The plan had worked.
