A Rising Storm? [travel]
Sat Aug 09, 2014 6:40 pm
Walking along a wooded path the former Tenkage made his way through the twists and turns of the village borders. The soft shadows cast by nearby trees, every so often, contorted themselves into jagged mountains of shadow as bright flashes of lightning seemed to give them life. The smell of rain was in the air yet the rain itself had not yet begun to fall-a storm was coming. To the heir of the Uzumaki clan the air also seemed to be filled with an almost imperceptible tension as if the very atmosphere were holding its breath. All the Uzumaki knew was that he did not wish to be out in the open when the storm broke, so he picked up the pace just a bit.
Now moving at a brisk walking pace, Shinji allowed his mind to wander ever so slightly to recent events. Apparently Tengakure had been taken over in his rather brief absence, which led the former kage to make his way to the land of iron where he spent the better part of two weeks figuring out where he stood. Not one to make rash decisions the Uzumaki had elected to not rush back to Tengakure-he did not want to face a whole village on the field of battle. After all, one shinobi cannot best a thousand in a straight out fight and many of the shinobi would be people Shinji had known, no, he could not do that. As such he had come up with his current plan of action.
The road Shinji was on currently led right into the heart of the fire nation: Konohagakure. This seemed to be the most viable course of action as, firstly, Shinji wanted to warn the other villages of the danger that Tengakure may now pose and furthermore it seemed like a good a place as any to take refuge considering his leadership of the Uzumaki. Oddly, the Uzumaki scion had never been to the Leaf village. In the back of his mind he hoped that the village leaders would hear him out. He did have all his travel documents, so hopefully there would be nothing to impede him from continuing on his trip.
Alas, Shinji's concentration was broken as an icy cold rain drop plunked onto his head. A quick glance to the sky turned what was once a brisk walk into a smooth running pace. As he did this a deep roll of thunder seemed to smash the heavens above. This only spurned the young man on faster to his final destination, the Leaf village.
