Gone for far to long (YOLO takeover)
Wed Sep 03, 2014 5:22 pm
People had been freaking out. Their new leader was gone, so were his allies, and many shinobi of the village had been told to leave as well. Coupled with the tragic recent deaths and the threat of missing ninja attacks, many citizens and even shinobi were worried about what would happen to the village. There was talk of getting a new leader, someone from Yukigakure who would stay and protect their people.
No one seemed willing to nominate them self, either because they didn't feel they were right for the job or maybe they were afraid of the 2 Anbu kunoichi. They had gotten close to Maku and no one knew where their loyalties lied.
Miyu sat in her room, putting on her well fitted boots. Her katana had been recently cleaned, he hair tightly pulled back as well so that she didn't have to worry about it falling into her eyes. As she finished putting her shoes on and got to her feet, Miyu picked up her sword and looked into the mirror. Was the person looking back ready to do what needed to be done? She felt she didn't look old enough, she looked almost innocent despite being a Chunin. And was she? She had only killed a few people, rarely experienced terrible injuries. Did she have enough experience for this, enough talent, ability?
You do this for the people. It didn't matter if she wasn't ready, she didn't need to succeed. She just needed to inspire the people, convince them that they needed to rise up and defend themselves.
She finished preparing tying by her headband around her forehead, the fabric was so long that the ends rested near her shoulder blades.
Miyu didn't take long to arrive at the Leader's chambers. People had seen her quickly moving towards there, and curiously followed. Word passed around, and by the time she arrived a crowd was already brewing. Assuming no one stopped her, Miyu would jump to the roof of the leader's building, then address the crowd.
"This Maku Jemuza has deserted us! He has taken some of our most talented shinobi and left us nearly defenseless, while Missing ninja plague the nearby lands. He goes to serve his 'leader' rather than look out for us, the people he is supposed to protect!" Miyu's voice would be loud, and while her view of Maku could be viewed as harsh, her words still rang true.
"Yukigakure needs a new leader! Someone from here, who is willing to protect the civilians and even their fellow shinobi from harm, willing to put their life on the line for them!" Miyu hoped these words would reach the people, that they would understand the need for a new leader. Miyu would wait a moment to see if anyone would say anything, any villagers that wanted to denounce her, or share her cry for change.
If no one was offered up to be leader, or tried to arrest Miyu for treason or something, she would take a quick breath, she wouldn't want to have to do this, "If no one else will try and be the force behind the changes this village needs, I will do it." Again, Miyu would wait for someone else to speak up, she hoped someone more capable than her would come along and take the claim, to become the villages leader. If no one did though Miyu would continue again, "I will claim leadership of this village! I will not abandon you for some one else's cause, or leave you defenseless!"
Miyu sincerely hoped that someone else would claim leadership of the village. She was just a chunin, sure she had some talent with a blade and some strange power over light, but she wasn't ready to lead people. She waited, that was all there was to do now, wait to see who would challenge her claim.

Tiffany had made her way outside of the main administration building after receiving a telegram from Maku. He was a flamboyant little fucker she had to admit, but he had done her family a service, and that service needed repaying. Her younger sisters Charlotte and Anne had already come into his service. Both raised in these very walls, had achieved the rank of ANBU, and had pledged their lives to the very well being of this village. She had watched them grow and become strong, however it was not until Maku took over did they achieve their new titles. It was because of him that the three sisters even had their lives, and it was because of him that the three worked so hard to keep the village safe. While Anne and Charlotte both seemed to have developed a deep run fascination with the young leader, Tiffany kept the relationship more formal. He had done them a great service, so it was now her job to pay that service back. The only payment that could be offered up, was her body and blood in the service of this village.
Per his instructions, she had went into the vault and retrieved a sword of his own creation. The Maboroshi no Ken was a powerful blade, and had special abilities that made it finer than any normal katana. It now hung on her left hip, dangling as she continued to walk outside of the building. She was dressed in mostly black form fitting clothes with gold trim. It was a very formal appearing outfit that displayed an impression of a higher social tier. Tiffany had grown up here in the village and had worked hard in its service. She was a strong ninja, in her own right and had worked very hard to achieve her rank. Like her sisters her abilities had been under appreciated until Maku had taken office. She had until very recently been collecting information for him across the land of snow. Arriving back no one was more surprised than her that she was to lead the village in his absence.
In the telegram a great many things were explained. How he was off working with Echo to create an alliance, one of which the world had not seen. A collaboration of villages consisting of Takigakure, Iwagakure, and of course Yukigakuri. He explained that this process could cause his absence to be longer than expected, and because of that her position would last as long as it took. In that way, she had gone from head of information, to leader of the entire village. Continuing to think of all these things she found a small cluster of people looking at a female that was calling into question Maku's leadership and the need for the village to have a home grown leader.
"Girl, I think you best step down." She would say in a carrying voice. Her words were icy like the biting cold of the enviroment. The wind blowing to cause her silver hair to be blown in the wind. "I am to take office, and see to it the village continues business as usual." She said to the group at large. Having been raised in the village, most should know at least of her. "Maku has indeed left the village, however it is to establish an alliance of three countries. Creating a lasting peace and partnership that will see Yukigakure thrive and not be bullied by the other lands. Many of the shinobi of this land have been summoned to bear witness to this collaboration, that is the reason for their absence." She continued as she spoke to the group, only keeping Miyu in the corner of her eye.
At this time Charlotte and Anne were sitting next to each other on a building. They had arrived at nearly the same time as their sister, and behind their masks had large grins. "Oooooo she made sissy mad. She is gonna be in troubles" Anne giggled to her sister.
"If you have any doubts in the direction the village is heading, or the curent state of affairs, I will hold an open door policy tomorrow, so any villager no matter of circumstance can come and freely ask questions." She concluded to the group at large. Upon finishing she turned to look once again at Miyu directly. "If you think you are strong enough to defend the village and want to challenge me, I welcome the attempt, if you wish to serve the village I welcome the service. Either way you should know, this village is in no way in danger, Maku and I have seen to that."
She would continue to eye the girl, unsure of how she may respond to this statement. She could not have rabble rousers inside the village and therefor the only way to see this event concluded was with the public viewing this girl's reaction. Either she attacked or submitted, either option would serve her purpose. If she attacked so boldly, it could be shown she was to hot tempered to have lead the village, and should she submit than her dominance would be displayed. Either way, it worked in her favor especially since she had given the proclamation of the open door policy to be held the next day. All there was to do now was to wait and see what Miyu would do.

Miyu heard a voice, a woman telling her to 'step down'. Miyu's green eyes scanned the area until they locked on the silver haired woman who had uttered the words. Miyu didn't personally know the woman, though she was renowned as one of the best shinobi raised in Yukigakure. Miyu was around the age of her two sisters, but had never seen much of this one, Tiffany.
The older woman then went on to address the crowd, stating she was to be in charge in Maku's absence. She then went on to say that Maku was establishing alliances with other lands, as though this were a good thing. To be dragged into other people's conflicts, to have to deal with their problems. And all of those shinobi who left, were going to witness. Why were they going, when reports said that Yuki was plagued with missing ninja?
Miyu didn't let the woman continue her speech, instead cutting her short after referring to the absence of the other shinobi.
"Bullied by other nations? THE ONLY TIME this nation has been bullied by another was when Maku and his allies came here to take control of our country! When they KILLED our previous leader for not accepting their offer!" Miyu was angry, how could anyone think that this man Maku was on their side? Perhaps it was the charisma he seemed to possess, but Miyu didn't see how that could be enough for people of Yuki to actually want to support his claim.
"What benefits are we expected to get from this alliance? Will they stop sending men to ensure that we 'prosper under the guidance of Kuushou'? Because so far, that guidance has involved the death of a village leader, and sending multiple shinobi away from the village to see some alliance be formed, when they could instead be used to get rid of this Missing ninja problem that seems to be plaguing our land since Maku's rise to power!" Miyu wasn't the best public speaker, or debater, but she hoped she managed to make at least a few good points that would help the people realize that this man Maku had force dhimself upon the people of Yukigakure, they hadn't chosen him as leader, or to follow his leader Kuushou.

The girl had interrupted Tiffany as she had been speaking, however instead of letting it get to her, she allowed the girl to continue with her interruption. She was clearly angry, and by allowing her to throw this little tantrum could only continue to serve her own purpose in making it clear that she was not one to lead. At the interruption Charlotte and Anne both began to laugh again, they were enjoying the show.
Once she had finished speaking, Tiffany began to rebuttal what she had offered. "What is there to gain? You are living in a box if you think one nation by itself is safe these days. Your own statements offer up the weakness in your own argument. This village was indeed taken easily by two men. Two, not an army, not a battalion, not even by a ninja squad. 2 men, had this village had the strength of other nations behind it do you think such a feat would have been plausible let alone possible, I think not. It is brave to believe in ones own strengths, but it is foolish to not believe in the strength of many." She would allow this statement to sink in for a moment before continuing.
"Missing ninja have and will always be a threat. One that cannot be undone, except by the bold and strong. As leader would you be capable of preventing such a threat? Do you believe yourself strong enough to fend them off? Perhaps you believe that should an attack occur you will be able to fend the missin nin off, but in the time it takes you to become aware and counter strike, how many will have already died, if you can even be successful?" She put a heavy tone on the word "if" drawing attention to it. "What this alliance offers is the manifestation of a defense merely by the name of the alliance. No one will think to attack, no one will be able to as it would be a fools errand to do so. This village leader you speak of, what was he able to do for the village? Protect it....apparently not. No he maintained pride and would rather have seen the village burn than his own pride besmirched. Is that really what you want? To be ruled by the sin of Pride, despite the consequences to the ones you were sworn to protect?"
She would stand and await an answer if the girl had one. The village of Yukigakure bred powerful shinobi, who were survivors. The very enviroment produced strong individuals or quickly swallowed them whole. This girl who spoke with such passion was one of these. She had strength and Tiffany admired it, however she was displaying the same sin of Demetri. Would she let her pride prevent her from seeing the truth, or would she submit. She had asked her many questions, and her answers would display what kind of person she was.

The woman stopped talking after mentioning the strength of many. Miyu didn’t know it, but the woman was simply pausing to let the words sink in. Indeed, in Miyu’s mind, all that she noticed was that she had a chance to speak back, to strike back against this woman who had, in Miyu’s mind at least, betrayed the village and sold her loyalty to some usurper. Miyu hadn’t been a fan of Demetri’s leadership, but this man Maku had forced himself into a position of power, and put all of the people of Yuki underneath the rule of this man who had ordered Maku to take Yuki.
Before the woman would continue her words, Miyu would once again speak, “You speak of the strength of many, yet look around you! Maku has taken our shinobi elsewhere, the action of even making this alliance has left us vulnerable for a time. And you said 2 men took this village, yet from what I heard only Demetri fought. I was away when this happened, where were you when these men threatened violence against those who wouldn’t comply with their demands! Don’t tell me you thought their demands reasonable, to have our nation absorbed by another without any negotiations, without any say on our part. Were you away on some mission when this happened? Or were you just already in these invaders pockets, and simply choose not to help our leader, foolish as he may have been.”
Miyu hoped she at least angered the woman, because Miyu was starting to believe that this woman’s opinion could not be changed. The only acceptable reason Miyu could think of for not wanting to overthrow these invaders was fear. Miyu knew these people were powerful, more powerful than she currently was. But if the people banded together, made themselves strong, then they could force these people away from the village, decide amongst themselves who would be leader.
Miyu would wait for the woman’s response, green eyes staring at her. Miyu already knew that in a fight she would lose, and quickly, but Miyu didn’t care. She just wanted the people to know that if they banded together, helped each other grow strong, they could rise up and get rid of the usurper and his allies who had conquered their people.
This woman would make things difficult however, she was strong, and people chose the strong more often than not. Miyu could not protect them if they voiced support for her ideas, so many would be discouraged from joining her. She had to become strong, strong enough to face this woman, and to be able to face Maku. She wanted the people to grow strong together, but part of her knew if she wanted things to change she would have to grow in power, to lead by example and not words, and show the village that they didn’t need Maku by becoming powerful enough to challenge him and defend the village.

(Maku why you no post ;-; )
The woman made no response, the people in the crow looked between the two women as silence seemed to take hold of the village. Miyu's left hand became clenched, part of her wanting to attack this woman, who had taken the side of their invaders. But, she couldn't be to rash, not here whilst trying to show the people that they needed to rise up.
"Well, Am I right? Tell me, why didn't you face them? If you truly believe in the strength of many, then why didn't you rally the people behind Demetri? These men were invading us, and you did nothing!" She wanted the woman to respond, and hoped that her lack of response before was because Miyu was right. If this woman was shown to have betrayed the village while Demetri was in charge, perhaps the people would be less likely to side with her? How could they trust someone who had betrayed the villages previous leader, even if he had been considered a fool.
If the woman didn't respond again, Miyu would turn to address the crowd once more, "Maku is not our rightful leader! He forced us under his control along with his allies! I don' know about the rest of you, but I'm willing to risk my life to make Yuki free once more!" Miyu hoped that her words wouldn't come across as a young girl spouting foolishness, but she knew that to some she might. She hoped that she inspired some though, and that maybe some of the other shinobi would feel to embarrassed not to take up the cause. If a 16 year old kunoichi was willing to take up arms against these invaders, would they be cowards fi they sat by and watched?
"This woman said so herself, there is strength in numbers. If we band together, if we grow stronger, we can force Maku out of the village when he returns, and his allies! We can gain support from the other villages, ones not owned by this man Kuushou who sent men to conquer us in his name! We had allies before this man took over, but why would they have assisted us when we simply left our leader to die? If we show them that we, as a village, are wiling to fight these men off now, perhaps we can get their support once more!" These words of course would only be spoken if the woman hadn't responded to Miyu's accusations, Miyu would give no speech if she did.
If the other woman made no comments, some of the people would begin to cheer, the ones who had truly despised being ruled by a man who had invaded their home. Others would slowly join in, getting swept up in the heat of the moment. There would be some, plenty even, who would still believe hat Maku taking over the village had been a good thing, but if they said anything their voice wouldn't be heard in the roar of the crowds cheers.
(Maku post when you can, otherwise I shall have Miyu keep giving speeches every 48 hours. #bestthreatNA)

(#defeatedbythepowerofspeech)
Tiffany remained silent as she let the little brat prattle on. In her head she cursed the bitch in front of her, this was her first official day and this little twat was ruining it. She didn't speak again until the girl turned to the crowd and looked for support. A crowd was a dumb beast. One that fed on words and passion rather than logic and reason. Knowing this Tiffany finally made her response. "When the blood of your countrymen make the snow red, will this have been worth it. You are a child who speaks of rebellion as a toddler plays with toy soldiers. I am no ones whipping girl, yet I am also a realist. You want change, you want to overthrow someone who could kill this entire village before breakfast with a smile on his face. I am not saying the things that have happened to this village are right, but I am saying that they happened." Her words would be quite, causing the crowd to stay hushed to hear them, cutting off any hoped of the roar Miyu may have desired.
"Instead of being a child trying to solve situations with violence, I will give you a proposition of peace and politics. I invite you to come work with me, at my side while Maku is away and probably even when he returns. You will be in-charge of public relations and the welfare of the people. I believe you are a Chunin now. I ask that instead of leading a squad you will assist me in leading a village. If you want peace without violence this is the way to do it. I will open the books of office for you to see, and to judge." She opened her arms in welcome as she spoke. "You will receive no better offer for someone of your age, rank, or position in a village were you hold loyalties to the dead. You want the change, then make it so."
At this she would turn and begin walking towards the administrative building. After taking 5 steps she would turn and look over her shoulder. "Well, are you coming to back what you say, or are you just a rabble rouser unwilling to take opportunity when it is put before you." Turning back, she continued to walk only to have Charlotte and Anne appear at her sides having body flickered to her side. The three women causally walked into the building, with Anne staying back to hold the door for Miyu if she followed.
Any hope Miyu had of causing the people to cheer for her was most likely broken by Tiffanie's threat. It was true that Maku could destroy this village without much effort, and even more true whether she believed it or not that he was the one that prevented that very thing from happening.

Miyu listened to the woman's response, telling Miyu how Maku could destroy the village without effort. She may have even, perhaps, mentioned that she wasn't happy with Maku's rule either. Or was she simply not one who cared, maybe it didn't bother her that Maku taking over wasn't 'right'.
The woman then offered Miyu a position at her side, saying that Miyu could be in charge of public relations and well-fare. Miyu didn't want to admit it, but this was likely the best option for the village, at least until everyone got stronger. If Maku was as strong as this woman said, Miyu would do everything she could to one day surpass him, in hopes of leading the village back to its freedom.
For now, it seemed, she would have to do what she could. Even swallow her pride, and surrender to one she thought of as an enemy of the people. Miyu looked down at the ground as the woman began to walk towards the office. The woman then turned however, and asked Miyu if she was simply a rabble rouser, or did she actually want to help the village.
Unwillingly, Miyu began to follow the woman into the building. One of the girls who had found Miyu when she had first returned to the village held the door open for her, Miyu seemed to have nod in thanks. She felt defeated, at least for now. Her hopes of freeing the village would have to be delayed, she had to become much stronger herself before she could convince the people they could defeat Maku.

Without turning, Tiffany could tell the girl was following her. Continuing her steady walk she would lead the procession into the leaders office that she was currently occupying. Assuming that Miyu had followed this entire time she would gesture to the seat across from the desk. Taking her own seat in the large plush chair, she reached back and removed the hair clasp that kept her hair from blowing in the harsh northern winds. "Well now you little bitch we can talk in earnest. You have a lot to learn about leadership before you have the lady balls to try something like that again." Her expression was at the same time harsh, but with a teacher like tone. As if she was trying to teach Miyu something. "Plotting a revolution against a person the entire village has no chance against does not equate freedom it equates a massacre. Not only is there Maku to consider, but the man that works with him who is the actual murderer of the old leader. Beyond that I do not know the resources they have at their disposal." She would pause to let her words sink into the girl. While they did, she shuffled some of the paper work that she had been working on, and attempting to make it into a reasonable peace of organization. Maku may be a decent ninja, but clearly his mind was that of a hamster trying to run on a square wheel, lots of commotion but not always going anywhere. He literally had a file labeled, boring that contained the economic status of the entire village. It was true that he had made the village run at maximum efficiency, but it was in a process that no sane human could have followed.
Unless Miyu asked any questions then Tiffany would continue speaking. "Now if you want to protect the village there are several real ways you can do it. One is to assist in the continuous surveillance of the borders around the village, and keep a watch out for incoming intruders with mal content. Secondly as i stated out there, feel free to work on any projects that can assist the villagers in being happier and safer. 3rdly you could use a bit of training. Your a little lack luster in my opinion." She now had her hands together with her finger tips steepled, resting her chin on her thumbs, gazing at Miyu. "At our disposal to protect this place is myself and the two ANBU you have already met, they are my sisters and very capable. However against large scale attacks we are but three. We need you, so we can at least have 4."
Looking out the window she continued to contemplate. Her mind drifted back in time, to the deed that Maku had done to cement her partnership. It was true she didn't like the way he had come to power or the fact Yukigakure was essentially under foreign control, but the way of the world often left those who tried to control it unhappy. "As it is now, we must work with the hand we have been dealt, and only through vigilance will it be possible to make the world the one we want to live in." She would never outright voice discontent with Maku's leadership especially in the current position that she held. She would wait to see what Miyu had to say, and her reactions.

Miyu wanted to yell at the woman as she began to insult her, saying that her plan had been foolish and would have resulted in the villages destruction. How could one man take on a whole village? And even if Maku made the alliance, he wouldn't' take all of his allies to the village, they could catch him off guard then? If the whole village faced him, how could such a man beat them?
Still, Miyu knew that she herself couldn't beat Maku, and if these allies checked the village, shit. She didn't want to admit to the stupidity of her plan, but even if the village beat Maku, everyone would still be in danger. Maku and the man who killed Demetri were merely part of a group, Yuki would have to become significantly stronger if it wanted to be freed.
The woman seemed to have a much different idea of saving the village, trying to make the people safe by working with Maku. Miyu didn't know if she could bring herself to do that, or if it would work. But she supposed, until she got stronger at least, she would see how this path went.
The woman gave Miyu 3 ways to help the village. She could patrol the borders, or assist in projects to help the village. Then the woman said she needed to train as well, which made Miyu's frown became deeper. She knew she was weak, she didn't need that to be pointed out to her.
"Well, if I wanted to help in patrolling the borders, or defending the village, I suppose I should start by training."Miyu sounded upset, sort of angry, but she wasn't sure at who or what. She didn't like the position her village was in, but she saw no way of immediately fixing the situation. She would just have to become strong, and encourage the village to become strong as well.
