High Encounters (Private Kumo/Oren)

A small smile was beginning to form on her lips as she was beginning to celebrate an early win. As she twisted his arm her smile faltered as he simply twisted with it, before she could think a kunai slipped from his sleeve as it was at her throat. Her whole body stiffened for a moment, her honey colored eyes wide and staring intently at him. As a long moment passed she dropped her hand, giving a genuine laugh and breaking the eye contact. She stared at the ground for a moment, spinning her kunai on her finger, "That was pretty impressive, most people wouldn't..." She looked back up at him, noticing she hadn't moved yet. "Round 2?"

She gave a small smile as she noted his lack of response and eagerness to change the subject. Slowly wandering backwards she thought of how she would approach him, given a direct attack could easily be redirected to another stalemate. Settling on a plan of attack she looked up at him, locking her eyes with his and pulled out all 5 of her shuriken. In an instant she was running towards him while simultaneously throwing the shuriken at his feet in hopes to drive him back and into the tree that stood behind him.

Kasumi began the attack by running and throwing a bunch of shurikens at him. There were too many to try to deflect with a kunai and his precision as not nearly good enough to take them down with shuriken of his own. He was probably not fast enough to do anything else, so Oren simply stepped back, allowing the metal to sink into the soil some half a meter before him. Unfortunately that put his back against a tree and he had little place to maneuver as Kasume approached.

Gaining momentum Kasumi felt the rush of a plan succeeding, though it seemed too easy she wasnt paying attention close enough to really make any judgement, as she threw her last shuriken, and his back hit the trunk she took out her kunai and approached him faster, finally mere inches from him she raised her arm as if to strike him across the face but with a loud thud she sunk it into the tree right by his head and stopped dead in front of him, her breathing slowing down as she stared at him quietly, her eyes filled with questions. That was way to easy to get this close without any type of fight, "Thanks for letting me in."

Distracted by the tree behind him Oren was too late to properly react as Kasumi charged at him full speed, her right hand thrusting a kunai towards his face. This girl was full of surprises, he would open his eyes that he automatically closed in the anticipation of the attack, only to find the kunai buried in the tree next to his face. He would follow her arm to her face, finding yet another unusual expression, as if she was surprised it was so easy. Well... it probably was, if you were suicidal, that is. "You're welcome." He would reply, nodding down where his right hand held a kunai, the hilt vertical his stomach and the sharp side pointed at her. From this close he could feel her breathing as it slowed down, any closer and they would have had a problem.

Oren's left hand would grab her right, pulling the kunai out of the tree, while his right moved his kunai away. "Do ninja truly employ such suicidal attacks?"

She glanced down at where the kunai reached dangerously close to her and watched as he lowered it away from her. How did he... She refused to look up at him, only imagining what he could be thinking, how could she so easily assumed he was helpless when in reality she was within inches of serious injury. Her eyes snapped up to his as he grabbed her hand and pulled the kunai out of the tree, unintentionally she released the kunai and simply let him hold onto her hand as she fumbled with a response for her actions.

"I guess I was distracted...", her voice faltered as her face grew hot with a mixture of disappointment and confusion.

Oren was kind of pinned here. He wanted to increase the distance between them, but the damn tree. Hidding his kunais, he would put his right hand on shoulder and gently push her away. In the mean time his left hand would return the kunai to her hand, before letting it go. When there were some meter away he could breathe more easily. "Ugh, you want to try again?"

He placed a hand on her shoulder and as he gently pushed her away she back away her eyes still down cast to where she could watch him return her kunai. She gripped it tighter as an emotion she wasn't familiar with, overtook her and she backed up a bit more, bending down and gathering her shuriken from the soil. Nodding slightly, "Yeah we can try again... but on my turf." With that she turned her back on him and began climbing the nearest tree, when she made it a few branches up she looked down at him and gave a weak smile. "Aren't afraid of heights are you?" Reaching into her pouch she attempted to throw a pair of shuriken at his feet.

Oren observed as she climbed into a black tree. Noting that she was significantly younger than him. That was a brake. Honestly he just tried to keep all of this out of his head as much as he could. When she threw the shuriken at him, he would deflect them using two kunai, one in each hand, making a step forward to put himself fully into their path to make the motion easier. The boy did not really want to go into the trees, maybe they should end it here. To let her know about this, he transformed that step into a slow run, jumping and slashing the tree branch she was sitting on at its base, causing her weight to snap it, most likely forcing her to switch branches or get back on the ground.

However he would not stay, returning to the clearing where he left his traveling stuff. Oren would shout back at her "It has been very interesting, Kasumi, thank you! I hope we meet again some time!" With that he would leave the forest.

She watched as his demeanor changed, reverting to a closed thoughtful one that grew more distant and analytic by the second. He easily deflected her Shuriken and in one fatal movement she was hurtling toward the ground. Kasumi landed on her feet but the momentum brought her one knee down to break her fall completely. Before having a moment to comment to him he was already walking away, wishing to meet again some time. 

She shook her head of any remaining thoughts of him and sighed, gathering up her shuriken once more she climbed up another nearby tree and wandered deeper into the forest.
