It was dark outside, the moon shone brightly and cast a soft light on the village. Mitako was on a mission catch an art thief, and he was more than prepared. He sat in a potential victim's house and waited for the thief, as the houses close by had been robbed. Mitako had failed to alert the owner that he was trying to catch the thief, so he just sat quietly in the attic.
Mitako kept an eye on the door from the window, he was starting to doze off, as he had been there for a while. He snapped alertly when he heard the door to the attic open, he ducked into the corner of the room and tried to conceal himself in total darkness. He watched as he saw a small wiry man carrying a long T.V. shaped cardboard box to the other end, and place it next to some similar boxes.
This piqued Mitako's interest, and he waited until the man left before sneaking over to the boxes. Mitako took out a flashlight and saw that the box was taped shut. He searched around for something sharp but came up empty handed, he slowly peeled back the tape and opened the box. Inside were 2 paintings, he pulled one out and inspected it. Luckily, it fit the description of one of the missing paintings.
Mitako shut off his flashlight and crept toward the window, he then climbed out onto the roof. After than he snuck his way around from window to window, aiming to find his target. He eventually found him on the lower floor in the man's kitchen, making a sandwich. Mitako climbed back to the upstairs bedroom and snuck in through the window. He crept out into the hallway and snuck into over to the rail on the stairs.
The man was halfway finished with his sandwich and on his way up. Mitako leaned against the wall and watched as the man kept walking up the stairs, as soon as he had turned the corner, Mitako punched him in the throat, causing the man to spit out the bite of sammich he had in his mouth. Mitako knocked the man over with a relative ease and choked him out until he was unconscious.
Mitako picked him up and tried taking him to the jail to get the reward, however that proved difficult. Instead, he searched the house for something to tie him with, and using an extension cord, tied him to a chair. He then left to get a another shinobi to help. Mitako found his former teacher, who had guard duty. Mitako led the way and carried the man out of the door, while his teacher held his feet.
Together they arrived at the jail, which was closed this late at night.
His teacher started to head back to his post, "I'll assume you've got it from here?" Mitako nodded and plopped down next to the man. He decided to wait outside until one of the ninja who ran the jail showed up.
