training for the genin exams yo

Draconis Hyuuga, or “The Hyena” as he preferred to call himself, was relieved. He was finally accepted into the Ninja Academy. He would be damned if he remained an academy student for long though, he needed to get strong so he could remake the Hyuuga clan in his own name. He felt powerless before the might of the village leader, something he wished to change as soon as possible. He walked throught eh village, silently observing all around him. Things had changed, and mostly for the better, once he had become an academy student though. Having one job opened so many doors for him. It broadened his horizons and shed light on a rather annoying fact of life, which was that to get a job, you had to have a job. This was all well and fine for those fortunate enough to have a job for anyone who got into a spot of trouble, well, not so much. It was similar to what it took to get a loan here, or to open a bank account, frankly, both of which Draconis, no, the Hyena, had had trouble with all this time.
Today though, he was going to take his first steps towards greater strength, not for his own survival neither. Instead, he was attempting to get stronger, not only for himself, but also for his comrades, should he ever find anyone who he could truly call by that name. Not that he was likely to. The Hyuuga clan, his miserable kin, had a good reputation in Konoha, despite their current pitiful state of apathy and weakness, and this seemed to be indicative of the general quality of the ninjas here. Of course, there was that one ninja who had helped The Hyena into the ninja academy, that one fellow was worth helping if need be, but it seemed the general populace of Konoha was generally one of four categories: un-intelligent, apathetic, useless, or arrogant. Hopefully he would be able to make use of his predisposition towards combat to turn this around and make his clan, no, not just his clan. He would use his abilities to make his clan, no, Konoha, the entire village, take the leading role on the world stage.
He had to pass the genin exams first though, for him to have any chance of this happening. Everyone knew that higher ranked ninjas tended to have much more access to jutsus and the like, knowledge being key. The one who better understood the situation and its workings had a drastically higher chance to succeed or live on.
The first jutsu he needed to learn for the genin exams, was the Art of Transformation. That would come in handy, if he were ever to need to stalk prey again. The prey might not be small wild animals though so much as hapless merchants or enemy ninja though. He wandered the village until he came to a puddle in front of a wall. The puddle stretched across most of the road, so it would help him for his purposes as it was fairly clean for once. In the very least, the dust in the water had settled. He stood in front of the wall, his body a stark contrast to the bricks behind him. He gazed at the water and began trying to manipulate his chakra, attempting to weave a fabric of chakra to hide himself within like the shell of an armadillo. Not that armadillos were hard to kill, or not at all tasty for that matter, but the point remained.
Covering himself in his chakra, he tried to give it patterns reminiscent of the brick wall behind him. When he looked down at the puddle again, he was pleasantly surprised for the first time in far too long, to see that he was not visible. It was said that some people could see chakra, not just the visible light spectrum, but this would still help a lot. He grinned wolfishly, but only because nobody ever said that one smiled like a hyena. He practiced several times more, dispelling the cloak of chakra disguising him from most people each time. A devilish idea began to take root in his mind.
He began practicing the other jutsu. It seemed that one way to easily create “clones”, illusions that took on the appearance of oneself, was to make chakra cloaks that had patterns similar to that of the user. The puddle came in handy though as he could see if he was slipping up on the appearances of any of the clones he was trying to maintain. He could feel his energy draining though. He paused for a moment, the Hyena resting against the wall for a brief moment, before regaining the energy to continue his endeavors.
He had a fun idea from earlier to try out. He seemed perfectly capable of making the clones now, so he wanted to try the two jutsu together. He watched himself carefully in the puddle. He then made clones of himself and tried to conceal himself at the same time. It partially worked. The clones looked ok but he was still partially visible. He calmly tried again, and managed to make his efforts look closer to the genuine article while maintaining his camouflage. The Hyena saw his progress and it seemed he just needed to do what needed to be done next and should be obvious to most. He dispelled both jutsus, and took a moment to gather his thoughts. He tried again, weaving the hand seals as fast as he could, making clones and camouflaging himself at the same time. The one difference between this time and the last was that one of the clones was to the side, the other clone was standing right in front of where the Hyena awaited his prey. If anyone saw this they would assume that the Hyena was the clone in front of him, and not that he was hiding using a weak jutsu rather cleverly.
Too bad the art of transformation was ridiculously hard to use while moving. He needed to find a suitable replacement soon, though the jutsu should suffice for now.
