Kozata was not doing so hot that day. In fact, this was more of a literal thing than not. After all, he was the one who had just absorbed heat (or so it seemed) from the premises. So, now, he was going to consult with his mansion, who seemed to know something about this, as mighty suspicious as it was. It had hummed, after all, which meant that it was planning something, or perhaps that it knew something important but wouldn't tell due to strange mansion ego reasons... or both! Kozata had no way of knowing, but he planned to find out for sure.
Firstly, however, he had to go out and make sure that what he had done was what he intended to do. Errr... that didn't come out right. He had to make sure that what he had done the day before was the thing that he was going to research (kind of, Kozata wasn't one for research), and find out about. Nah, that was still awkward. Anyways, he thought as the mansions confidently prodded his somewhat sensitive mind, there was not time to do this. Wasting time was wasting away, he thought. Wow, that was one for the books!
He took himself out to the training grounds, where he happened to see some five or so men standing there with blocks of wood in front of them. Whoa, these were real jonin! The elite of the village stood before him, so Kozata did what was natural for him... he hid. The five men (all bald as it happened) were standing on one side of the training grounds, stretching and talking to each other in somewhat subdued tones. Kozata had seen that the mist tended to have that effect. A sort of... quiet that only people as lowly as Kozata could truly appreciate.
At any rate, Kozata was now hidden just off of the training grounds to the right. That is, the right of the men. Directions meant nothing without a reference point, but Kozata knew nothing of such things. Rather, he was focused on how awesome these men looked. Well, obviously, their baldness was a little bit of a turn off for him, but men didn't turn him on anyway. At least, he didn't think so. As a young teenage boy, he hadn't quite gotten hold of his emotions as of yet. He remembered the lesbian jonin who had greeted him before at Tenga... she seemed more scary than awesome.
But, wondering about the workings of sexuality made Kozata feel weird, so he stopped. Instead, he did as the mansion asked and focused on the men in front of him. The guys were finishing up their stretches and moving around. What were they doing...? Oh, Kozata saw now that they were maneuvering some wooden objects toward the other side of the training grounds. Upon closer inspection, Kozata saw that they were indeed practice targets. What on earth... were they going to toss rocks or use archery or something like that?
No, in fact, they were not. Kozata concluded, therefore, that they were going to throw kunai or shuriken or the like, but was made a fool of when the men started doing handseals. Well, of course. Being jonin, they should have been perfectly capable of handling ninjutsu like the bosses they were. At this stage, Kozata almost groaned. Of course, he had been an idiot again. Weapons, really? He had expected five bald jonin arm in arm to come out and toss hunks of metal? No, of course there were going to do something else. He should have known.
As a result, however, Kozata got to watch them charge up their chakra. He looked at each person... each one seemed to be performing a different jutsu. Kozata leaned forward slightly. What was it that the mansion wanted him to gain from this? Merely a sense of how inferior he was? No... he felt something else. Heat? The man closest to him was now outputting a fire blast from his mouth, which incinerated the wooden block. Ah... so that was what the mansion had brought him here for. A ready source of chakra-produced heat, so close by... and Kozata didn't have to pay a single ryo.
In that case, Kozata thought, why not activate his doujutsu? He turned it on, the Naien, Inner Flame manifesting in his eyes. Through this, the chakra of the men became more clear, and the jutsu that they were casting became differentiated in his point of view. Hey, this was actually pretty cool. It put somewhat of a drain on his chakra, but it wasn't much... and for surveillance purposes, it was perfect. Now, what would he be able to see? Well, first off, there was the jutsu of the man farthest away from him.
That one had a peculiar color, which matched the idea that it was an earth release jutsu. The same went for the next man, and the next, going down the line. Now... isolate. Kozata focused on the flame. It was hot... vibrant... he would obliterate it, destroy it and make it his. In that instant, the fire began to die down, as if it was a dog that was whimpering away from.... no, that was a bad analogy. Regardless, Kozata could fill his body beginning to fill with heat... dangerous heat. No, no! This was no good! With a push of chakra, Kozata thrusted the heat outwards.
He ran away from the area, thinking more than panicking. He had to find some way to get the heat away from his body, and still make it useful... but how? Kozata wasn't good at ninjutsu, so that wouldnt do any good... but what about seals? He had shown a talent in learning fuuinjutsu so far, so he might as well try it out...
All he needed to do now was design, but most of all, practice. He needed to find more heat, more fire, more katon chakra to summarily absorb.
