Kozata woke up early that morning, as usual nowadays with his chunin rank. He felt that building good habits was something crucial to being a higher rank. He put on his headband, and headed out. However, as soon as he left the door, he heard a soft laugh... what on earth was that? It was really soft, but as time went on, it began to grow louder. Kozata took a step back, when he realized who was laughing. The... the yuumei? What was going on here? As soon as he thought that, of course, the trouble began. Murphy's law, some would call this. Whatever happens will happen. Then again, what happened from that point onward was quite mysterious to anyone but Kozata and the Yuumei itself.
There was a dark flare around Kozata, which corroded the floor around him and produced this awful whining noise that made Kozata crouch and cover his ears. What on earth... what was this?
"STOP IT!" Kozata called aloud, both to the yuumei and to the horrible noise, although he had deduced by now that one had caused the other. What was the yuumei doing? It wasn't trying to kill him, was it? That would be a mistake on its part as well, as the yuumei would perish with him. So, that wasn't it.
It was then that Kozata felt a tug on his body. It was a half physical pull, like something was pulling him out of this world.
-COME TO ME.- What was this? It was like... the yuumei was grabbing on to his very essence and pulling him up and out of the three-dimensional plane! Wait... that was exactly what was happening. Calm down, Kozata thought to himself, keep calm and carry on. He felt like that statement should be put on a poster and hung up on a wall in his bedroom to remind him of that every day, but he felt that somehow, that would be just plain wrong. Oh well, so much for good ideas.
At last, he let go of himself and let whatever force was pulling him bring him to wherever it needed to. There was a snapping sensation in Kozata's innards, and he went unconcious. The next thing he knew, he woke up in a city. It was a strange place with strange architecture, and Kozata felt uneasy already. The sun was in a late-afternoon position, which was a different time than it had been in the other world. What the hell...
-FIND ME.-
The yuumei could speak to him in this world? And, worst of all, it was here, and separate from him? What the fuck was going on? He could hear distant music, playing a song that had the words "holy diver" in them. Weird, since there wasn't any water to be seen around taht was natural, at any rate. The place appeared to be a large city in the middle of a desert. There was a large mansion in the middle... hey, hold on...
A MANSION?
What the hell was the mansion from HIS MIND doing in a place like this? Well, if instinct told him anything, then that was where the yuumei would be. It was a proud, haughty kind of being, and even without his own prior knowledge, Kozata would have headed there first. However, this seemed to be a clear sign that the yuumei knew that Kozata would go there. In that case, what should he do? He sighed, bracing himself for what was to come and began walking toward it.
Along the way, he realized that the sky wasn't blue, but a sort of slate grey. What...? He flicked his doujutsu on, monitoring it. The sky... was filled with chakra. So this was some kind of external space generated by chakra, huh? In that case, time to take a good look at it. With his newfound powers, maybe he could create his own at some point in the near future.
-MY PATIENCE GROWS THIN. RELEASE ME.-
Kozata sped up a little, peaved that the yuumei was getting so impatient. What on earth did it want, anyway? Well, obviously, the "release me" part indicated that it must be trapped or something, but that was something else entirely. Why had it brought him to this place? With his own condition, it was wondered he had even survived the trip. Ugh, how unforturnate. The mansion was getting closer, looming as Kozata got nearer and nearer to it. Sure enough, it was exactly the same one as in his dreams. In that case... which one was the original, this mansion or the dream one? Which one had been copied off of the other? Or, had they both been created at the same time from the mind of some deragned being (obviously, the yuumei)?
He reached the wall of the mansion. How was he going to get in? Checking the enormous, large front doors, he found them locked and impenetrable, whether by blasting them with a fireball or by cutting through them with a kunai. Kozata sat down to think. Oh, of course. He was being stupid again. All he had to do was get through one of the windows. He used the surface walking technique to walk up a wall all boss like, and entered through a window on the second floor. This seemed like a good place, right? Maybe the yuumei was around here...
-TOO HIGH, BOY. I'M IN THE BASEMENT.-
Whoa, did that mean that the yuumei was some kind of fat basement guy, playing role playing games all day and eating junk food? Err.... obviously not, right? What kind of guy like that could afford a mansion like this... right?
He crept toward the stairs, to find that as the stairway went down, the lights grew dimmer and dimmer. He put his hand on the stone wall and began to descend, shivering slightly as the warmth disappeared from the air. What was this place? And what was he doing here?

As he walked further and further downwards, his doujutsu began to pick up traces of chakra from the surrounding air. So, this whole place, the world or dimension or whatever it was, had been crafted from sheer chakra alone? What an amazing feat of awesomeness... he wanted to do the same thing. However, it looked like he needed to have a talk with his Yuumei first. Where was it down here? He descended to the first floor, where he came across a room that had an enormous spiral groove in the floor. What the hell was this...? This new world was getting weirder and weirder by the moment.
He felt at the groove, moving his finger along its egde and interior. Compeltely smooth stone... but yet, some of the less smooth ridges inside the groove told him this wasn't natural, nor was it crafted by some ultra good dude with a chisel and an obsession with rocks. No... this was done by something else. He looked about the room, and saw a pile of sand. Was that what remained of the rock flooring?
-A GREAT BATTLE TOOK PLACE IN THIS ROOM.-
... well, was that all he had to say? In that case, better to move on. But first, time to get a good look at the room through his doujutsu...
When he looked at the groove through the eyes of darkness, Kozata saw that there was a pattern dancing in and out of the groove all over the place. It was kinda artsy, he had to admit, but when he looked at it closer, it was more like a really fancy and archaic blueprint than anything else. What was this... was this how this world was built? From scratch, and chakra, just like this? Also, why weren't there any other people here? He had just noticed with his sub par mind that this world was entirely devoid of people. So did that mean that whoever created this place had set this up just for him? How strange. Why anyone would do anything for him was a foreign idea to him. He always thought that he was compeltely on his own...
-YOU'RE NEVER ON YOUR OWN, BOY! NOW GET DOWN HERE AND LET ME OUT!-
The yuumei's voice wasn't savage, but rather, deep and commanding. It wasn't a command he could really ignore, otherwise he'd have it angry at him all day, and that wasn't something he couldn't do, right?
He went down another flight of stairs, and found himself in a basement. It suddenly got warmer, as if a heater had been turned on. Well, it kinda had, but Kozata noticed that it was actually the torches that had suddenly flickered on. What was this... spontaneous combustion? And how convenient too, that they had turned on just as he had gotten down there. Huh... maybe he could try and dash through here. The suits of armor on the sides looked like they had been rigged or something, so they probably had traps. Kozata gulped, and took a few steps back, then ran forward. He hit maximum speed just as he started passing through the gauntlet, and kept running, focuses his doujutsu and chakra senses. Yes... the very fabric of reality here was made of chakra. If he looked closely enough, it seemed that the fabric itself had been folded along the lines of that pattern he had seen eariler. So, it was like a tailor making a piece of masterwork clothing. Heh... the symbolism didn't get past him this time. To clothe a world in beauty... it seemed like something he would want to put effort into, right?
Sooner or later, he reached a large room. It was domed and made of black marble... what poor taste. He wasn't sure where he had seen it before (maybe in a book about Iwa or something *cough* *cough*), but he had seen some kind of poopy black marble castle that was made all goth like. The only people he knew who would do that would be.... Well, no one. Maybe the Mizukage, but he didn't think that a guy with blue eyeliner would be into black rocks, if you caught his drift.
This world was confusing. This room was weird. All it had in it was a large box in the middle. Upon closer inspection, it had a bunch of pipes connected to it. Kozata bent down, and put his ear to one of the pipes. It was gurgling with something... steam? Right then and there, he made a snap decision. Taking out one of his kunai, he began to hack and poke one of the smaller tubes with it. Eventually, of course, the metal of the pipe gave away, his kunai being pretty sharp and pokey, like most weapons were. Kozata's lucky day was not that day, however.
What came out of the pipe was not steam, but blood. In a flash, Kozata jumped away, nearly getting hit by it. Wow, this was weird. With his eyes, he could see that there was chakra in the blood. Whatever was in that casket thing in the middle of the room was being fed the blood through these pipes. That..,.. was really gross. However... being fed chakra? There was only one being he knew of that could do that, and that was the Yuumei itself.
Kozata went up to the casket and brushed off the dust on top. On it was a placard, with three engraved letters on it.
D.
I.
O.
In all caps.
What the hell?
DIO???
So, Dio was the Yuumei's name? What a weird thing to be called. Kozata wondered what kind of names the other yuumeis in the world had, and if they were just as strange? Maybe it was a common name to have where the yuumei came from.
-FREE ME.-
The yuumei's voice was softer, and seemingly... more confident? Well, what to do? Kozata sighed, and braced himself against the casket... then pushed it slowly open.

With a groan and a creak, the casket slid open. Immediately, Kozata felt something slice his leg, and he blinked. In the next instant, without any lag in time, he found himself in the casket itself. What was going on?!! Kozata was a bit shocked, but he knew that he had just done something terribly wrong. He had released something he shouldn't have. Kinda like Pandora's box, except this time, instead of hope being at the bottom of the box, he was instead. Ugh, how unfortunate. More importantly, however, how had he gotten in here? There had been no sensation of impact, no kind of force whatsoever. It was like he had been teleported there or something strange like that. Well, considering it was a different dimension, he had no clue what could even be possible here.
"Hehehehe..."
That deep melodius voice rang out in laughter, but this time, it was real and sonorous, not in Kozata's head any longer. Kozata peeked up over the edge of the box, his doujutsu blazing into Naien form this time. And there he was.
DIO.
"I, DIO, have been release by you, Kozata. Now that we have united in this space between spaces, I supposed the only thing left for you to do..." And here, he turned to face Kozata. "... would be to face me."
If Kozata had been a girl, then he might have fallen in love with DIO at first sight. A very tall man, with flowing golden hair and angular face, high cheekbones and startling red eyes. His body was covered by some swag boss clothing, but from what he could tell, DIO was extremely muscular. Like, to the point where even the most burly of ninja would have been afraid. However, from the turn and from DIO's now VERY charismatic stance, the muscles only added to the man's elegance. Or rather... he was not a man, but a yuumei.
The yuumei had a star-shaped mark on the back of his left shoulder, and three dot-shaped birthmarks on one of his ears. Other than that, his pale and clearly unnatural skin was umblemished. What a person...
"Now that you have your Naien activated, Kozata, you can see what kind of a technique that I, DIO, have used to put you in that coffin. Behold!"
With that, a wave a chakra poured forth from DIO's body, and for a second, everything seemed to flash. Then... Kozata coudlnt' move. Was this some kind of paralysis technique? No... even the blood spout that came from the pipe that he had just busted open was held still somehow, the droplets that had split of from it being suspended in mid air.
"The secret that I, DIO, possess is the power to stop time. However, because you, Kozata, have the Naien doujutsu, you can invade my world of frozen time, and follow my movements. Yes, you can even follow my motions and eventually, break further to my, DIO's world, and move within my frozen time. Now... come!"
Kozata watched as time slowly began to move again, and DIO jumped through the ceiling.
"You, Kozata, have until sunrise."
What...? Only? Kozata jumped out, and grabbed some of the white curtains that hung about the room. These would have to do to bandage his slightly scratched leg until he got out of here.
"You bastard... DIO... you were inside me this whole time, and now you want to fight me? Fine! I'll take you down myself!" With that, Kozata walked up the wall, to find himself standing on top of a roof of the mansion. Across from him, was DIO, standing on top of a chimney of a different building.
"You, Kozata... you should be able to move now within the frozen time. However, how long can you move? One second? Two seconds? Or perhaps you can move around for nine seconds like me, and are only pretending that you cannot... and so on... At the moment, I believe that you can move for only an instant. Why not try it out?" DIO gave a nasty grin, and Kozata, wary of what was about to happen, drew two kunai, one in each hand from his weapon pouches.
"USELESS!" Exclaimed DIO. "IT'S FUTILE, FUTILE, FUTILE! Could a monkey fight a man?! TIME STOP!" With that, the same pulse of chakra would happen again, and Kozata would feel that choking sensation that told him that time had come to a freezeing point. However... he still felt a bit of power. He knew he could move, but not for long. He had to choose the right moment...
"WRYYYYYY!" DIO cried out. Was he high, or something? Who knew? However, Kozata was in trouble. DIO produced several knives that didn't look at all like normal kunai, and tossed them his way. About a foot from Kozata's face, the knives stopped, affected by the time freeze.
"Four seconds remaining." More knives were sent, and Kozata started to panic. How was he going to avoid this many knives? Well... he just had to trust in his own speed. Yes... he would have to deflect all the ones that were aimed for his vital parts.
"Three seconds remaining." DIO sent the last of his knives toward him, and Kozata decided to move.
"ORA!" The unknown battle cry poured forth from his throat, as he struggled to move against the frozen time. He moved to deflect some of the knives.
"Is that all you can do? Well then... it's been proven that you can move for only an instant at a time... and that time is up." The time stop ended, and the knives went flying at Kozata.
"Argh!" He tried to deflect all of them, but inevitable, some of them made it through. The force and the pain knocked him off the roof, down to a convenient mattress below. Arrghh.... this was not good. Any more of this... and Kozata would die. He had to think of a way to stop DIO, or else...

As he fell to the floor, Kozata felt a couple of his bones strain, but not crack. Good. He stood, as knives fell from his body. Damn, he needed to stop the bleeding. If he lost to much blood, then he would lose conciousness and probably be stuck in this hellhole forever. He made it out of the city, having staunched the bleeding. He was on a bridge over a deep canyon, this bridge being a road. How would he leave this place? Well, there were a few possibilities. He could try and bend space time to get out, which was a momentous feat, considering how little he had done up to that point of space and time jutsu. Jikukan ninjutsu... the stuff was difficult to grasp for most, but for one such as Kozata, who had an abnormal specialization field allocation, it wasn't as hard. He just had to look at it like a blanket... and plant his fist right through it.
He attempted to do so with his chakra, first making the tiger handseal. He had to have some kind of handseal, and this was the one that came the fastest to him. It was also the easiest for him to perform.
He focused his chakra, reaching out to feel the fabric of this world. It was almost like he was viewing from an eye in the fourth spatial dimension, and was peering down on these seeming planiverses, which represented this one and the other world, the one from which he had come. He began to move them together, slowly. Should only be a few seconds, he thought, until our two worlds come together and I am sent home. Just a few more, and I can give DIO a piece of my mind, once and for all. That fucker thought he could mess with me like this...
"I, DIO, have found you, Kozata. You thought you could escape from me, DIO, however, you are wrong. There is no escaping me. I am as much a part of you as your own heart."
And there he was, standing atop one of the bridge trusses. What...? How had he followed Kozata here? Maybe he had chakra sensory, just like Kozata. He wondered how to hide it from DIO, but it was too late now. DIO had already found him, and now there was no escape. That was, of course, unless the two worlds were to connect again in time. Damn, this was a sticky situation... but his doujutsu felt stronger now. Now, he could probably move for longer and longer within this frozen time thing.
"STOP TIME!"
The wave of chakra came out again, tinting everyting and slowing time to a grinding halt. The choking feeling came over Kozata again.
You're out of knives, yuumei, Kozata thought. You'll have to come down here, and when you do, I'll punch you so hard, you'll die. And then... and then I can go home. You'll regret ever messing with me, you figment!
DIO landed on the ground some distance away.
That's right... approach...
However, DIO had different plans.
"One second has passed."
Damn.... what was he doing now? DIO jumped, zipping away. So that was how, he had caught up to him... the guy could fly. Maybe Kozata could replicate that effect as well, but for right now, his primary concern was with survival. He had to stay alive for a few more seconds... with his focus, he could feel home getting closer and closer as he sat there in the suspended time. Almost there, DIO... then they could go back to how things were.
"Two seconds have passed."
How long was this going to take? Was he going to merely freeze time and leave him there like that? Or... was he grabbing something else?
"Three seconds have passed."
Kozata knew that DIO could only freeze time for nine seconds, and already, a third of that time was gone. Bring it on, DIO, I'll make a mush out of your brains when you come back and try to beat me up, Kozata thought angrily.
"Four seconds have passed."
I'm not even scared, he thought. However, better not to waste what few motions I have by merely screaming out threats to this yuumei thing. I'll take my shot when I can. Even handseals are a waste of motion... I've gotta go for a physical attack.
"Five seconds have passed."
"Six seconds have passed."
Suddenly, a shadow appeared over Kozata.
Huh? What the-
"SEVEN SECONDS HAVE PASSED! TAKE THIS! IT'S A ROAD ROLLER!"
It was DIO... and he was carrying an enormous construction road roller. How could someone be so strong? This was beyond belief. Also... if that thing crushed him, he would surely die. It descended on him, and Kozata began to pummel it desperately, as DIO, on top of the road roller began to do the same.
"It's useless, you fool! You cannot escape!"
Rrggh... Kozata was starting to run out of time for his motion within the stopped time. If he could hold out for long enough, then perhaps he could slip out from under the road roller...
"EIGHT SECONDS HAVE PASSED! WRYYYYY!" There was that gross battle cry again... only one more second to go!
"I'LL CRUSH YOU FLAT!" DIO pounded on the top of the road roller with all his might, and Kozata felt his arms give out. Shit!
At that moment, the two worlds connected, and Kozata was sent back to his residence.
"I... I did it." With a pulse of his chakra, he found himself back in the other space, except this time, it was devoid of the city that was once there.
-YOU, KOZATA, HAVE WON THIS SPACE FROM ME, DIO. FOR THAT... I ACKNOWLEDGE YOU.- Yes.... now this whole dimension was his! And Kozata could feel that it, and DIO, were both hungry... hungry for other chakras and others of their kind. Well... if it got him more power, he would be happy to oblige.
